abstract: In this work we review certain biographical and historical data concerning Sor Juana and María Luisa, Condesa de Paredes. In addition, we have chosen Ovillejos 214, Romance 61, Redondillas 90 and 91 as poems that provides important insight into their relationship of patronage and friendship. In order to delineate theoretically both aspects of this relationship --the public and the personal-- we make use of the concept of ekphrasis proposed by Frederick de Armas. This concept is applied to the analysis of Romance 61, which is in the tradition of the lyrical Petrarchan portrait. Redondillas 90 and 91 are examined from the theoretical perspective of Cicero's amicitia, which serves to define an alternative model of feminine amicitia. In constructing this model, we review the written criticism surrounding María de Zayas' comedy, La traición en la amistad (1635). This criticism insists on a certain configuration of feminine friendship necessary for understanding the relationship between the two women. As is demonstrated in the analysis of the poems, the two women developed a mutual and permanent affection for one another until the death of Sor Juana in 1695. The Condesa de Paredes also provided practical support to Sor Juana for the publication of her first book, Inundación castálida (1689), which launched her to literary fame. To date there have been no critical studies that apply the concepts of ekphrasis and feminine friendship to the study of anecdotal clues found in the poems of Sor Juana for analyzing the nature of her relationship with the Condesa. A emergência de uma massa de novos consumidores no Brasil na década de 2000 gerou a necessidade, por parte das empresas e organizações, de conhecer hábitos, comportamentos e gostos desta parcela da população, que até então estava invisível, pela restrição econômica, aos olhos do mercado. Gerou também uma intensa discussão sobre a reconfiguração de nossa sociedade, em que importa a suposta criação de nova classe social, a \"nova classe média\" ou \"nova classe C\". Estes fatos provocaram o interesse inicial para o desenvolvimento desta Tese de Doutorado, que, assentada no paradigma marxista, buscou lançar mão de arcabouço teórico capaz de compreender as questões relacionadas ao tema central, o consumo, e de seu reconhecido vetor, a Publicidade, conjugadas à discussão sobre as condições materiais impostas pela sociedade capitalista. Os objetivos foram aprofundar o conhecimento teórico sobre o consumo e suas significações; contribuir para a análise sobre os novos consumidores em particular; compreender as suas representações por meio da Publicidade. A base metódica foi composta por revisão bibliográfica, pesquisa qualitativa com consumidores e análise semiótica. O percurso de pesquisa ampliou seu escopo inicial e, ao final, foi possível elaborar e propor tipos ideais de processos de consumo ancorados no quadro mais amplo de classes sociais. Esses processos, com o auxílio da análise das representações na Publicidade, foram descritos em diferentes dimensões que, a nosso ver, compõem a complexa sociedade contemporânea: a dimensão fluida dos movimentos ascendentes ou segregatórios do consumo, a dimensão rígida da estrutura e das classes sociais, a dimensão simbólica das representações. Desenhou-se assim o que chamamos de retratos sociocomunicacionais. / The emergence of a mass of new consumers in Brazil, in the decade of 2000, created the need for companies and organizations to learn about the habits, behavior patterns and preferences of this portion of the population, which, until then, was invisible to the market\'s eye, as a result of economic strain. It also triggered an intense discussion on the reconfiguration of our society, to which the supposed creation of a new social class is of importance, the \"new middle class\" or \"new C social class\". These facts attracted our first interest in preparing this PhD Thesis, which, based on the Marxist paradigm, resorted to a theoretical framework that is able to understand the issues related to the main topic, consumption, and its acknowledged vector, Advertising, combined with the discussion on the material conditions a capitalist society imposes. The goals are those of diving deep into the theoretical knowledge on consumption and its meanings; of adding to the analysis conducted on new consumers in particular; of understanding its representations by means of Advertising Activities. Bibliographic review, quantitative research conducted with consumers, and semiotic analysis comprise the methodical base. The research path expanded its initial scope, and, ultimately, we were able to prepare and propose ideal types of consumption processes supported by the wider range of social classes. These processes, with the help of the analysis conducted on representations used in Advertising, were described within different dimensions, which, in our opinion, comprise the complex, contemporary society: the fluid dimension of consumption\'s ascending or segregated movements, the unbending dimension of structure and social classes, the symbolic dimension of representations. And so were designed what we call socio-communicational portraits.

Pedaços e detalhes corpóreos fazem parte de experiências estéticas vivenciadas por meio da fotografia a partir da relação dos sujeitos com as imagens que constroem de si e compartilham com seus espectadores, os quais repassam, comentam e respondem a essas imagens, muitas vezes, com outras de si. O ato fotográfico vernacular, assim, parece deixar de lado as datas comemorativas em família e a focar e desfocar, repetidas vezes, o próprio fotógrafo. Compreender as relações entre subjetividade e visualidade que essa prática agencia e o desejo pela auto-imagem é perceber que essas questões se projetam para a própria essência da fotografia e caracterizam esse momento de mudanças advindas com o digital. Essa prática está conectada a algumas concepções de uma produção artística de borda, de forma que para traçar tais reflexões, partiu-se da análise de autorretratos artísticos, como obras de Julia Margaret Cameron, Francesca Woodman e Cindy Sherman. Seguiu-se a análise de algumas ferramentas virtuais, em especial no Flickr, com foco no jogo mútuo, e de comum acordo, entre os participantes que ao se representarem, representam também o outro. Foram eleitas aleatoriamente produções individuais e coletivas percebendo afetos, projetos e subjetividades que se entrecruzam, se copiam, se desejam e se continuam. / In the context of virtual communities, it is almost impossible not to notice the huge amount of pictures of the photographer’s feet, shadows and reflections in the mirror. Pieces of body and its’ details are part of the aesthetic experiences its lived through photography through the relationship that it’s created with the images about oneself that is and shares with others, which pass on, comment and respond to these images, often with another photograph. The vernacular photographic act seems to leave aside the momments in family and to focus and defocus, again and again, on the photographer himself. Understanding the relationship between subjectivity and visuality that this practice agency and the desire for self-image is to realize that these issues are projected to the very essence of photography and characterize this moment of changes of the digital era. This practice is connected to some conceptions of an artistic production edge, so to trace these considerations, we started with the analysis of artistic selfportraits, as the works of Julia Margaret Cameron, Francesca Woodman and Cindy Sherman. This was followed by the analysis of some virtual tools, especially on Flickr, focusing on the interplay, and the mutual agreement between the participants to represent themselves, also representing the “other”. Were randomly chosen individual and collective productions in the attempt to notice affections, projects and subjectivities that cross, copy, desire e continue each other.

Gardolinski (1914-1974) era descendente de poloneses, engenheiro civil e fotógrafo amador. Seu acervo consiste em uma coleção de vestígios particulares de inúmeros temas da vida pessoal e profissional, arquivados em diferentes suportes. São livros, jornais e revistas, cartas, anotações pessoais e fotografias. Do conjunto documental, selecionei apenas a porção fotográfica e, a partir dele, as fotografias da construção da Vila do IAPI, em Porto Alegre - o mais importante projeto profissional da vida de Gardolinski. O objetivo da pesquisa é inserir-se nos debates sobre o uso da fotografia em trabalhos históricos, considerando a imagem técnica como um artefato material, autônomo e independente de seu autor ou referente. A análise inclui a circulação e a influência dos objetos na relação entre eles e os sujeitos, e entre os sujeitos. Além disso, as fotografias são entendidas enquanto suportes de uma memória arquivada, ao conformar uma imagem de si do sujeito, ao mesmo tempo em que criam uma nova visualidade para a Vila do IAPI / Abstract: The Collection Edmundo Gardolinski constitutes the main set of documents of this research. Gardolinski (1914-1974) was a descendant of Polish immigrants, civil engineer and amateur photographer. His collection consists of a compilation of particular traces of numerous issues of his personal and professional life, archived on various media. It is composed of books, newspapers and magazines, letters, personal notes and photographs. Within this collection, I have only selected the photography portion and, among them, the photographs of the construction of Vila do IAPI in Porto Alegre - the most important project of Gardolinski's professional life. The purpose of the research is to promote an insertion in debates about the use of photography in historical works, considering the technical image as a physical artifact, autonomous and independent of its author or referent. The analysis includes the circulation and the influence of the objects in the relationship between such objects and the subjects, as well as between subjects. Moreover, the photographs are seen as carriers of a filed memory, since it conforms an image the subject itself, while creating a new visuality for the Vila do IAPI / Mestrado / Politica, Memoria e Cidade / Mestre em História

A abertura do trabalho cabe à pioneira Gioconda Rizzo, que abriu seu ateliê por volta de 1914, prosseguindo com a análise do percurso de nove fotógrafas, considerando que algumas dispunham de maior oferta de informações biográficas e de imagens por elas produzidas em detrimento de outras que deixaram pouquíssimos vestígios. O retrato fotográfico, o gênero mais utilizado por todas, funcionava como uma inserção inicial no mercado fotográfico, onde, com o passar do tempo, cada uma desenvolveu sua carreira, por longo ou curto espaço de tempo, sempre buscando alternativas na prestação de serviços para sobreviver num mercado já naturalmente competitivo, sem considerar as dificuldades acrescidas pela guerra. Pelo panorama apresentado, percebe-se a inexistência da memória do trabalho da mulher, especificamente das fotógrafas, que, apesar da produção de registros fotográficos de toda espécie e para todas as ocasiões, não conseguiram registrar a própria carreira na memória do trabalho de uma metrópole como São Paulo. Perdem-se os retratos, perde-se a memória / Abstract: This essay¿s objective is analyze the photographic scene in the first half of 20th century in the city of São Paulo regarding the photographic production developed by the women, owners and conductors of theirs establishments. The opening of the work fits the pioneer Gioconda Rizzo, who opened it¿s atelier in 1914, and continues analyzing the trajectory of nine photographers, considering that some offer more biographical information and images produced from them, in detriment of those very little vestiges had left. No doubt, the portrait was the style more used by all women and men, functioning as an initial insertion in the photographic market, as times went by, each one developed its career, longer or shorter, always searching alternatives rendering services to survive in a competitive market, without considering the difficulties increased by the war. For the presented panorama, it¿s perceived the inexistence of memory of women¿s work, specifically from photographers, despite their wide photographic production had not been capable to register their own career in the labor¿s memory of a city like São Paulo. Ao situar essas `identidades digitais¿ no horizonte universal dos autorretratos, tentaremos com Erving Goffman descrever algumas 'formas' dessas apresentações eletrônicas e interrogá-las na perspectiva aberta por Axel Honneth, quando o filósofo da Escola de Frankfurt questiona a sociedade contemporânea, definindo condições e objetivos necessários ao reconhecimento da dignidade tanto social como individual / Abstract: This research is an exploratory work, which aims to reflect about the relationship between human and cyberspace. Since this is a broad and complex topic, we have limited our research to the Facebook platform (its layouts and architectures from 2011 to 2013). With this, we raise the question about the identity used by young people in their search for social recognition. By situating these 'digital identities' in the universe of self-portraits, we will describe the different 'forms' of these electronic presentations, based on Erving Goffman. Then analyze them against the perspective opened by Axel Honneth, when the Frankfurt School philosopher questions the contemporary society, defining conditions and objectives needed for the recognition of both, social and individual dignity / Mestrado / Multimeios / Mestra em Multimeios

Today there exist several systems that lack usability. The reasons are, among others, the pressure to add more features in the system, but also that focus has been earlier on technology and functionality. It becomes more important to think of the user, so that systems can be more usable. By focusing on the user, the user experience can enhance, which results in more satisfied users. User involvement in the system development process is one way to learn and receive information about the user. There are several ways of doing that. One way is to create user portraits from existing user models. We have studied different user models and lack a model that includes both tasks and goals; for example one of the existing models focus on user goals and another on relations with the system. The purpose with this final thesis is to create a model to describe users as roles providing a more effective and generalized user-centered system development process. To create this model, the role profile model, we studied existing theories. By them we were influenced both by good and less good things. The theoretical study resulted in a tentative model that we tested by interview and observe six buyers within the manufacturing industry. This resulted in two role profiles; the strategic buyer and purchase planner. From the result of the interviews and observations, we improved the tentative role profile model to our final model. There were some factors that did not fit in the tentative model and some that we added. The role profile model contains three elements; objectives, requirements and context. These elements consist of a number of attributes that are important when surveying a role profile. The uniqueness with the role profile model is the fact that it includes both role specific attributes and attributes that puts the role profile into a context. The model contains for example work process, system requirements, responsibility and authority. The role profile is at part of a greater context. There are design philosophies that concern the whole system development process; from survey the user to design and test. Our role profile model only handles the first parts, the user and tasks, due to the time limitations. We have created a practical procedure that we recommend to facilitate the usage of the role profile model. The practical procedure is based on our choices of method when testing the tentative role profile model. The central in our practical procedure are interviews and observations. It is important to plan the company visits so that all necessary information is received. The usage of the role profile can for example contribute with: knowledge and understanding of the users, structured work procedure, a generally accepted terminology and a user-centered design process. This final thesis has been performed on commission of Lawson Software. We had continuously discussions with them about usability and the role profile model. We have studied fields of applications for the role profile model at Lawson. We think they can use the model in the product requirement process, design and evaluation, work with composite applications, user understanding and user priority and introduction of new employees. / Idag finns det ett flertal system som har bristande användar¬vänlighet. Detta beror bland annat på påtryckningar att lägga till fler funktioner i systemen, men också på att det bakåt i tiden har fokuserats på att utveckla system utifrån teknologi och funktionalitet. Det blir allt viktigare att tänka på användaren så att systemen blir mer användarvänliga. Genom att fokusera på användaren kan man öka användarupplevelsen i systemet och det medför att användarna blir nöjdare. Att involvera användaren i utvecklingsprocessen är ett sätt att lära känna och få information om användaren. Det finns många sätt att göra det på. Ett sätt är att skapa användarporträtt med hjälp av olika befintliga användarmodeller. Vi har studerat olika användarmodeller och sett att det saknas en användarmodell som inkluderar både fokus på användarens arbetsprocess och dess mål; till exempel en av de existerande modellerna fokuserar på användarens mål och en annan på relationer med system. Syftet med detta examensarbete är därför att skapa en modell som beskriver användare som roller, som bidrar till en effektivare och bredare användar¬centrerad systemutvecklingsprocess. För att ta fram denna modell, rollprofilsmodellen, studerade vi som sagt existerande teorier. Från dem påverkades vi både av delar som vi tyckte var bra och mindre bra. Vi kom fram till en hypotesmodell som vi testade genom att intervjua och observera sex inköpare på tillverkande företag. Detta resulterade i två rollprofiler; den strategiska inköparen och inköpsplaneraren. Utifrån resultaten av intervjuerna och observationerna förbättrade vi hypotesen till vår slutliga modell. Det fanns vissa faktorer som vi inte tyckte passade in, men även attribut som borde läggas till. Rollprofilsmodellen innehåller tre delar; mål, krav och kontext. Dessa delar består av ett antal attribut som är viktiga att undersöka hos den rollprofil som ska skapas. Det som utmärker rollprofilsmodellen är att den inkluderar både roll¬speci¬fika mål och attribut som sätter rollprofilen i en kontext. Modellen innehåller till exempel relationer, krav, ansvar och befogenheter. Rollprofilen är en del av en större kontext. Det finns designfilosofier som berör hela systemutvecklingsprocessen; från att kartlägga användaren till att designa och testa. På grund av tidsbegränsningar har vi enbart berört de första av dessa delar; användaren och arbetsuppgifter. För att underlätta användandet av rollprofilen har vi skapat ett rekommenderat praktiskt tillvägagångssätt. Detta är baserat på våra egna metodval när vi testade vår hypotesmodell. Det centrala i det praktiska tillvägagångssättet är intervjuer och observa¬tioner. Det är viktigt att planera noggrant så att all nödvändig informa¬tion erhålls. Användandet av rollprofilen kan till exempel bidra till: kunskap och förståelse av användaren, ett strukturerat arbetssätt, en allmänt accepterad terminologi samt en användar¬centrerad utvecklingsprocess. Detta examensarbete har utförts på uppdrag av Lawson Software, med vilka vi kontinuer¬ligt har fört diskussioner om användbarhet och rollprofilsmodellen med mera. Vi har även utforskat vilka potentiella användningsområden som rollprofilen har på Lawson. Lawson skulle kunna använda modellen i kravhanteringsprocessen, design och utvärdering, arbete med komposita applikationer, användarförståelse och priori¬teringar samt intro¬ducerande av nyanställda.

Cette thèse traite l’évolution du personnage romanesque Abd al-Rahman Munif selon une approche sémiotique. Dans le premier chapitre, nous avons analysé le statut du personnage romanesque dans les études narratives. La recherche se compose de quatre parties et une conclusion générale : la première traite les isotopies du discours, les noms des personnages et leurs portraits. La deuxième aborde la relation du personnage avec l’espace et sa relation avec le temps. La troisième traite la structure narrative dans les deux textes [le texte de la prison et celui du désert] et la quatrième partie évoque l’idéologie dans le texte de prison puis dans le texte du désert et l’axiologie sous jacente aux deux textes. La conclusion comportant les résultats de cette thèse. / This dissertation deals with the evolution of the characters in the novels of Abd al-Rahman Munif based on a semiotic methodology. This is done according to four research lines : first the isotopies, names connotation and portraits of characters. Second their relationships with space and time. Third the narrative construction of the jail text. Finally the ideology and the system of values in both texts.
