Inter-InnoLab Collaboration

Memon, Atia Bano 29 May 2017 (has links) (PDF)
Over the recent years, the paradigm of Innovation Laboratories (abr. InnoLabs) is gaining an increasing attention among business organizations as a potential source of assistance in the process of the development of new or the improvement of their existing products and/or services. Business organizations approach the InnoLabs in the search for assistance in dealing with the challenges of the often times complex and uncertain innovation process, and ultimately become successful in their innovation projects. Although the overall goal of the existing InnoLabs is to support the systematic, effective, and efficient innovation development, they target different innovation challenges and thereby vary in their focus and service offerings. As a consequence, all the innovation support that might be needed in the course of an innovation process remains dispersed among different InnoLabs. In this esteem, this thesis aims to centralize all the mediated support offered by the existing InnoLabs by bringing them into a collaborative network. In pursuance of this, initially, the diversity among the existing InnoLabs in terms of their structural and functional manifestations is explored by employing a triangulation of online survey and in-depth expert interviews with the InnoLab facilitators. Subsequently, based on the diversity observed herein, the incentives, approaches, and possibilities of interconnection among InnoLabs are determined. Having conceptualized the framework for inter-InnoLab collaboration, the next part of this thesis deals with facilitating such collaborations in an online space. The internet, since its inception, has drastically altered the practices of intra- and inter-organizational connectivity. Recently, one could observe a growing interest among all types of organizations towards the social networking sites (abr. SNSs) as an effective medium for reaching out to a global audience. As a result, a significant amount of business related information is already available and continuously accumulating on SNSs. However, the SNSs fall inadequate in supporting the inter-InnoLab collaboration because of the missing dedicated functionalities, isolated platform boundaries, platform dependencies, lack of support for domain-specific features, privacy concerns, and issues of data transparency. In response to this, this thesis advocates the designing of dedicated inter-organizational collaboration platforms with seamless integration of SNS data. Successively, employing a design science research approach, a dedicated, domain specific, and SNS integrated web-based collaboration platform (the InnoLab_Net) is designed for supporting inter-InnoLab collaborative activities.

Facebook et la réalité des amis virtuels

Marrder, Ninozka 04 1900 (has links)
The last decade was marked by the advent of social networking sites, Facebook, with 900 million users, is by far the most popular of these sites (Facebook, 2013). The inherent characteristics of this platform, such as the information archived online as well as the public nature of the interactions, require a reflection on its social potential. Many authors suggested that the use of Facebook could lead to an increase of social capital and more specifically bridging social capital. Based on this theorization of social network established by Putnam (2001), this research questioned the involvement of Facebook during the restructuration of young adults’ social network. Data was retrieved using a questionnaire and interviews from 176 students newly arrived at the University of Montreal. This procedure allowed comparing students online interactions with their offline interactions. It is clear from this research that Facebook secures emerging social ties and facilitates the formation of groups in a new environment. In addition, the use of this platform accompanies the young adults throughout their life trajectories and is part of an evolutionary process.

Social ångest på sociala medier : Svensk översättning och psykometrisk utvärdering av Social Anxiety Scale for Social Media Users / Social anxiety on Social Media : Translation and psychometric evaluation of the Social Anxiety Scale for Social Media Users in a Swedish sample

Jönsson Erliksson, Olivia January 2019 (has links)
Measurement scales are needed to facilitate further research on social anxiety in the context of social media. This study aimed to translate the Social Anxiety Scale for Social Media Users (SAS-SMU) and evaluate its psychometric properties in a Swedish sample regarding its underlying dimensions, internal consistency, converging and diverging validity. Furthermore, relationships between passive, active and total use of social media and social anxiety were explored, since previous studies have shown a tendency towards passive use. Three factors were retained for SAS-SMU with satisfactory internal consistency. SAS-SMU converged with SPIN and diverged with OCI-R, SWLS, PHQ-9 and GAD-7. However, the association between its third factor and SPIN was weaker compared to the other factors. Results indicated that higher levels of social anxiety were more strongly associated with passive use than active use, as well as longer general social media use. This is at odds with previous studies only reporting significant correlations between social anxiety and passive use of social media.

COLLEGE STUDENTS’ USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA TO COMMUNICATE ABOUT ALCOHOL AND DRINKING BEHAVIORS

Reno, Jenna E. 01 January 2015 (has links)
Social networking sites (SNSs) are an increasingly popular channel for communication among college students. Often students disclose more freely via social networking sites than they would in other situations. These disclosures commonly include information about engaging in risky health behaviors (e.g., binge drinking). Study 1 examined students’ impression management goals and self-presentation tactics specifically related to self-disclosures of drinking behavior on SNSs. Findings suggest that students use differing self-presentation tactics across various SNSs in order to achieve their impression management goals and to avoid consequences associated with disclosing about risky health behaviors to certain audiences. Study 2 sought to develop and measure SNS communication about alcohol related activities (SNCAA). It used the theory of normative social behavior as framework for investigating and predicting SNCAA. Additional variables that predict SNCAA were also identified. Findings demonstrate partial fit of the TNSB as a framework for explaining SNCAA. The overarching results of this project suggest a need for interventions aimed at reducing students’ SNCAA as well as increasing their overall knowledge about privacy and safety online.

The Model of Switching Behavior on Social Networking Sites: An Exploratory Research

Unknown Date (has links)
This research was done to study the switching behaviors of social networking sites users. Data was obtained via an empirical survey of 667 social networking sites users. The findings of this study indicate that mooring effects(including attitudes toward switching, subjective norms, switching costs, and variety-seeking tendencies) appears to have a stronger influence both on user’s switching intentions and switching behaviors, and a positive relationship between switching intentions and switching behaviors. Furthermore, the personalization, website image, involvement and frequency of use have direct influence on switching behaviors. According to the characteristics of social networking sites, this study classifies the categories of switching costs for further research.

Facebook, un espace d’expression et de visibilité religieuse : le cas de l’islam (2012-2014) / Facebook, a space for religious expression and visibility : the case of Islam (2012-2014)

Sakho Jimbira, Mohamed 04 December 2017 (has links)
De manière plus générale, notre problématique s’inscrit dans un cadre compréhensif visant à voir en quoi Facebook - en tant que dispositif sociotechnique - parvient à déplacer les frontières traditionnellement dévolues aux expressions religieuses musulmanes dans un pays laïc comme la France / Social networks are an integral part of the lives of millions of French people, and Facebook is a privileged space for expression and representation of identity and community. Given the fact that many users who define themselves as French and Muslims create on this global social network pages, groups and profiles dedicated to Islam, we wanted to question, especially in a context where Islam regularly occupies the media agenda, the logics underlying their presence on this social network. Far from any normative consideration, the aim is to move the gaze towards the actors through the analysis of the way in which they are defined and consider their uses. More generally, our problem is part of a comprehensive framework to see how Facebook - as a sociotechnical device - succeeds in shifting the boundaries traditionally devoted to Muslim religious expressions in a secular country like France

Wass, Ronnie, Tudeen, Johanna January 2016 (has links)
Over the last couple of years’ social media has come to have an influential role in our lives. With the broad use questions has raised if social media use can have negative effects. We have seen a recurrent tendency in media and society that encourage people to overlook their social media use and seen cases of people reducing their private social media use. The purpose of this study is to examine attitudes in young adults whom have taken a break from social media or reduced their usage. Furthermore, we wanted to distinguish what types of strategies they have used when they renounced from social media. With a qualitative approach we interviewed five young adults that had waived from social media during different periods of time due to negative usage experiences. We examined our empirical material along side with previous research on social media, Goffman’s impression management theory and Nanna Gillberg’s notion on Bourdieu’s forms of capital. We found that people tend to see the opportunity of impression control as something tedious and time consuming which had lead to a diminished use of social media. When tackle this aspect of social media, it came down to reducing your usage to an extent without having to compromise the possibility social media offers to keep in contact with friends.
