Entre Douro - e - Mundo: mito e literatura na revista Nova Renascença / Between Douro - and - World: myth and literature in New Renaissance magazine

Ferraz, Roberta Almeida Prado de Figueiredo 10 October 2008 (has links)
In 1980, the Nova Renascença magazine was first published, in Portos city, lasting untill 1999. One of its main goals, continuously displayed in its editorials and manifestos, as well as in some of its texts of literary critics, was to re-elaborate Portugals identity, which by uniting tradition and modernity, made, out of the Portuguese language, its mythical expression. We know that myths while expressed in symbolical terms serve different functions and uses, from most creatives to most rhetorical, becoming always a dangerous expression. Taking, therefore, from this assumption, we seek, in this work, to present some of the different meanings that the mythic-poetic proposal of the language and the Nation assume in the magazine, having always its global context, in which occurs the actual debate between the return of the myth and post-modernity, as horizon.

La place des femmes au cœur de la résurgence du mythe arthurien dans la seconde moitié du XXème siècle / Women’s place in the heart of the Arthurian myth’s resurgence in the second part of the XXth century

Soria, Séverine 09 December 2011 (has links)
This study analyses women's place in the resurgence phenomenon that the Arthurian myth has known from the second part of the twentieth century onwards. At the root of this resurgence, we mention the significant influence of The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien and we parallel this novel with the Arthurian legend. Then, we analyse Arthurian rewriting by female French, English or American contemporary authors. On the one hand, we look into works which stay close to the Arthurian tradition; on the other hand, into those which are at odds with this tradition. Finally, we study similarities and divergences between rewritings offered by women and the ones of their male counterparts. We obviously deal with the feminism issue and the one of the feminisation of an essentially and originally masculine topic.Different points related to the feminine question are then tackled, like youth literature, the resort to sciences, the role of religions, and the case of the temptress developed by male authors, in opposition to the valorisation of the feminine body in women's novels. This comparative work between masculine and feminine rewritings of the Arthurian myth aims at determining the place that women have managed to take in the resurgence of this legend and also to question the significance of the systematic sexuation in the myth writings.

Personnage collectif, personnage individuel : Tableau d'un parcours dialectique (1830-1930) / Collective Character, Individual Character : Scenes of a Dialectical Journey (1830-1930)

Bruschi, Filippo 30 May 2011 (has links)
Collective Character, Individual Character: Scenes of a Dialectical Journey (1830-1930) At the beginning of the nineteenth century, the introduction of the people into the social and artistic scene marks the end of the "era of the individual". Henceforth, it is the question of totality that is affirmed in all fields and that imposes in the dramatic field a new relation between individual and collective characters. The latter are for Goethe, Baudelaire and Wagner the occasion for a dialectic tension susceptible to generate new theatrical forms. It will be the Naturalist School (from Zola to Hauptmann) which favours more openly this articulation in making the milieu itself an actor. The antithesis of the first movement is instigated by symbolism, which claims the same desire to go past conventions, but through the invention of character-myths and of polymorphous choralités exiled from any socio-historical reality. While Maeterlinck and Claudel show the limits of this model, other persuasions (Mallarmé) conceive the essence of theatre as one of a dialogue between the hero and the crowd against the backdrop of a social ritual in the process of transformation. With Italian futurism and Apollinaire this ritualism reaches its point of incandescence and claims a fully assumed fusion of the individual and the collective. Far from the these provocative syntheses, Pirandello, Ibsen and the expressionists will devote themselves to throwing light on the now opressive role of the collective on the individual character. Taking note of this reversal of hierarchical and dialectical relations in drama, does not Brecht’s theatre offer the alternative of a more dynamique and less deadly collusion between individual and collective characters?

Conceptions and representations of creative power

Puyôou, Bianca 14 December 2016 (has links)
This hermeneutic interdisciplinary work, where literature and philosophy are tightly intertwined and converse with the so-called hard sciences, first proceeds to define the notion of myth as a literary type of story that illustrates a stance on a metaphysical question. It reveals Ovid’s story of Pygmalion as a genesiac myth in which mankind is at the heart. Progressing from the XVIIIe to the XXe century along the history of European ideas, it then halts at the French, German and Italian literary works that revisit the myth, in light of the question drawn from the source text – that of the extent of Man’s creative power – in order to extract the common characteristics. In their study of Art and Eros, they present a relationship to the world and to the others that is directed toward a dynamic of creation that is realized through a similar process based on the representations along with the mental and personal implication and dispositions of the subject, ecstasy, will and faith. In turn, drawing on their lessons and this observation, this work eventually answers this question by elaborating an anthroposophical mythologism that call upon XXIe century discoveries in neurosciences, physiology, semiostylistic, esthetic and ethic. This system, in its quest of understanding this creative process, has led to the redefinition of a Man essentially led by a representational instinct, a creative gesture, moving from Creativity, to Pleasure and Beauty, by which he achieves his Freedom.

The applied qualitative method fit the model of Penafria (2009) for analyzing film scenes. After the selection of images to be evaluated and taking into consideration the obtained literature, the film was divided in three moments, which express the Philomena s experiences and their relation with Echo aspects and Echo and Narcissus s relationship. The analysis suggests that Philomena, who, at the beginning of the film, had a unilateral identification with Echo, develops an opposing polarity (Narcissus) going beyond the pure Echo s dynamic. The results led to an analysis of the women s experience stuck in this dynamic, suggesting them new possibilities for their live / A presente pesquisa buscou compreender a trajetória de Philomena, protagonista do filme que leva o mesmo nome, e sua relação com os aspectos do mito de Eco.

Rooted in Fundamental Psychopathology, it is a case study, based on clinical method, conveyed by the search of a patient for its origins. To tackle the question of origins, we start with the myth of Oedipus, the gate to the introduction of the patient into culture, out of the construction of the myth of the origin of civilization, as well as out of the subjective experience, whose course through the Oedipus complex, from the symbolization of the primordial law, will produce different modes of subjectification. Our route begins with the investigation of the first issue that brought us to the clinic: the not knowing . From a patient who comes to the consulting room overwhelmed by learning diffculties at school and, above all, by his not knowing about his own origin, we are invited to investigate the hardship of knowledge and cognition and its implications in the psychical constitution. From these notions, we will address the different aspects of intellectual inhibition in childhood clinic where do appear, separated by stringent limits: the symptomatic position in which inhibition would serve as a defense against the confrontation of the neurotic conflict or the intellectual insufficiency as a visible phenomenon in childhood, a mask for psychosis. Along the case, we introduce the psychical constitution through psychosis, whose understanding is based in the rupture of the primordial symbolization. Back to the question of origins, we discuss the notions of fantasy, delirium and family romance. Finally, we address the task of the psychoanalyst in the treatment of psychosis / Este trabalho tem como objetivo delinear uma via de intervenção na clínica psicanalítica da psicose.

I elected the History of Life as a methodological approach, which allows for interchanging with the History of Science discipline in its theoretical principles. In retrospect, the course of my life inserted into my teaching experience, has sent me back to the legends of creation, specially the Horus myth used as a methaphor under which I built this narrative. Horus contemplated the Science, the teachers and the students. The first look estabilished the relationship of the Science with myth, religion, power and education. A second looks showed a teacher s impasses concerning the History of Science in the Secondary Scholl and in undergraduate for science teacher. The third look is revealed from the students depositions. The relevance of the present study is grounded on the History of the Science which, exploited as reported herein, was revealed as an interdisciplinary element for the development and modification of knowledge, opening paths to students, leading them to autonomy in studies and in the society, and to a new have a view on Science, breaking old paradigms, which resulted in the fragmentation of knowledge / Esta pesquisa tem o objetivo de analisar criticamente, sob a ótica da interdisciplinaridade, minha vivência como professor de História da Ciência e a função desta disciplina como eixo norteador para a Área de Ciências da Natureza, Matemática e suas tecnologias no Ensino Médio.

The theme of this research shows the meanders dialectic that are opposite and complementary between myth and Aufklärung, in which points to the dimension of domination of nature in the historical context of western reason since epic Penelope's tapestry until the Enlightenment. Meanwhile, another dimension permeates within this issue of domination of nature: the salvage of emancipation of subject contemporary and, within this dimension that is born the urgency of emancipating the subject, to rescue the broken subject in itself. The emancipation of the subject broken only happens with the recognition of the warp systematic domination existing in social life, searching for means of abstraction, protrude of intermittent sufferings of current reality, feeling the blow of autonomy gradually growing in awareness of the subject / O entrelaçamento dialético entre Mito e Aufklärung no primeiro capítulo da Dialética do Esclarecimento de Adorno e Horkheimer (Sérgio Augusto Moreira).
