Unidades de Polícia Pacificadora: pacificação, território e militarização / Pacification Police Units: pacification, territory and militarizationJúlia Leite Valente 25 August 2015 (has links)
This work intends to a critical analysis of the Pacification Police Units (PPU), searching to understand how it constitutes apossible answer to the urban and safety problems in Rio de Janeiro. First of all, we turn to the importation of the civilization ideal in the early 19th centurys Brazil and the advent of the police and the urban issues in Rio de Janeiro. The historical review allows understanding the appearance of the favelas and of a divided city. Then, we turn to the PPUs pacification aspect, resuming this ideas meaning throughout Brazilian history, particularly as the subjugation of indigenous people and as repression to the insurrections of the first half of the 19th century. In a second place, we turn to the configuration of a police governmentality in Rio de Janeiro and in Brazil, from polices appearance to the neoliberal governmental rationality. We demonstrate how the police appear as a civilizing agent and how an authoritarian rationality of militarization and criminology of the other marks the Brazilian polices, what explains its historical violent acting against the underprivileged classes. Then, from the territory conception assumed by the PPU, we elaborate its critic, observing that they constitute a politics of militarized occupation of the territory which reinforces a geography of inequality and promotes a new form of territorialization. Finally, we talk about the mechanisms that the neoliberal governmentality assumes in the management of the urban issues in Rio de Janeiro from the ideas of a military urbanism and urban entrepreneurialism. The military urbanism is understood as the extension of military ideas to the daily spaces and circulations, which leads to an international tendency of militarization of the public safety and proliferation of exception territories. In this context, the PPU politics resembles the MINUSTAHs slums occupations in Porto Príncipe, the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel, the American counterinsurgency in Iraq and Afghanistan and the ProyectosUrbanosIntegralesinMedellin, which inspired it. But they are also befitting with the urban entrepreneurialism ideal, based on the competition between cities marked orientated. It is, therefore, a militarized control project of the favelas, needed for the mega events and the construction of a Marvelous City image.

Território creche / Crèche territoryValéria Carneiro de Mendonça 14 March 2013 (has links)
By reference to the crèches territories, located in different places, the lócus of the research discuss the everyday and the different identities that surround them. Be located in different places naturally implies a dynamic organizational formations which includes subjective and different sociocultural characteristics. Thus, the research turns toward a literature review, emphasizing the principles that drive the studies on the crèche territory, including the construction of this territory by means of the social and cultural. It can be said that the cultural ideology taken within the creche territory reflects the many subjectivities passing in that space, during a time: teaching staff, the student body, staff technical and pedagogical, administrative staff, community, among others. The adopted methodology firm up into two parts: a theoretical, with selection, reading and interpretation of scholars related to the theme, and empirical, which brings the practical experience of the researcher on the creche territories, in order to explain / illustrate a knowledge until then not been formalized. Thus, the theory dialogues with the data collected in the many creches that administered in an attempt to bring new angles to the discussion.

Território, rede e cultura da tradição: o fado do século XIX no mundo do século XXI / Territory, network and culture tradition: the fado of nineteenth century in the world of twenty-first centuryRicardo Nicolay de Souza 14 December 2012 (has links)
The history of fado began in the nineteenth century and is interwoven with many theories about their origins, which are still being debated nowadays. Inserted in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2011, fado is considered as the main musical symbol of Portugal, in the everyday lives of many social and cultural portuguese people, having overcome geographic boundaries, social, cultural, political and economic. It is considered in this paper the importance of the Portuguese Empire and its colonies such as Mozambique, Angola, Brazil and Goa, which contributed to the beginning of the process of dissemination of fado worldwide, leading to the overseas territories of portuguese culture fragments from fifteenth century, and the development of capitalism and the fluidization of boundaries, through the media, globalized the fado, and catalyzing him into "the process of miscegenation between songs from different classifications" (VALENTE,
2007:94 ), and the influence of singers, that with the emergence of new forms of communication have enabled their interaction with other cultures and, consequently, with other songs. It stands out in its trajectory transformation of music exclusively consumed by lawbreakers and morals to music representative of the culture of a country, leaving behind the houses of ill fame of the nineteenth century and gained space by stages in the world in the twenty-first century. The recording industry and the radio are also tools that contributed to the development of fado. The goal of this dissertation is to observe the fado today, recovering its history from its origins in the nineteenth century. For that identifies and locates many transformations over time and characters who stood out during this journey, showing how traditions are reinvented by the new generations who, at many times, are responsible for the care and often for the reinvention of fado as cultural heritage. In this analysis the globalization of culture is considered as a power redefined the meaning of a tradition. Some singers are the landmarks of this research, representing a timeline that is distributed in 200-year history. The lyrics of fado will travel this research in order to illustrate the points addressed. As a cartographic research, based on the rhizomes model, proposed by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari (2000), we intend to analyze the contemporary history of fado, with the timeframe elapsed at the Cravos Revolution, in April 25, 1974.

\'Desnervados, desfibrados e amarelos\' em busca de cura: saúde pública no Acre territorial (1904 a 1930) / \'Denervated, shredder and yellowed\' searching for cure: public health in Acre stateSérgio Roberto Gomes de Souza 11 September 2014 (has links)
The organization and offering of public health services in Acre remote to the first decade of the twentieth century, a period in which this place was definitely attached to the Brazilian territory through the Treaty of Petrópolis between Brazil and Bolivia, dated November 17, 1903. The process of administrative organization of Acre was troubled. Contrary mainly rubber growers and traders based in the region, the federal government opted to turn it into a Union Territory administered by dividing it in sequence, in three departments: Alto Acre, Alto Juruá and Alto Purus, where departmental prefects were appointed. During the period, there are several records on public health, emphasizing the concepts that prevailed when it came to explain that caused existing morbid conditions. Such filings were mainly found in reports sent to the Ministry of Justice and Internal Business. The passage of a committee of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute in Amazonia and specifically in Acre between the years 1912 and 1913, prompted the development of several counterpoints theories which until then was constituted in reference to explain how aggressively the sites were attacked by a variety of diseases. For the doctors Carlos Chagas, Pacheco Leão, and João Pedro Albuquerque, who formed that committee said, the malaria was the main problem to be faced. The 1920s decade brought some administrative changes to the Territory of Acre. The period branded the end of the regime of Department, being instituted administrative centralization and the figure of governors also appointed by the federal government. José Vasconcelos da Cunha Thomas and Hugo Ribeiro Carneiro were those who remained in office for a longer period. They both reported actions to the \"hospital rigging of Acre.\" Despite reports, almost nothing was actually changed on it, where that keeping the difficulties that the inhabitants of Acre had to have access to medical services and medicines, which contributed to that sought by other healing arts

Configuração da identidade étnico-territorial do povo indígena Zenú na Colômbia / Constitution of the ethnic-territorial identity of Zenu Indian people in ColombiaCarlos Andrés Pachón Pinzón 26 April 2012 (has links)
This research seeks to analyze the process of appropriation and conservation of the biodiversity from the perspective of the Zenu Indian people of Colombia and also of the different social subjects, such as local organizations and NGOs, that work in this territory, since the introduction of transgenic seeds of maize in neighboring regions from 2007. Taking, therefore, the ethnographic investigation as a reference to the comprehension of the different social initiatives and policies created by this Indian people in its purpose of defending the biodiversity of its territory and the constitution of an ethnic territorial identity inside this Indian group. The biodiversity constitutes, thus, a fundamental element in the configuration of an ethnic territorial identity of the Zenu people, sustained, in addition, by a discursive production with a performative character. This process ends, in turn, in a revitalization of an Indian condition of its population, and consequently, of its territory. A revitalization that, besides claiming spatial modals and cultural elements of vital importance for this social group, such as the case of the maize, establishes the limits of a new symbolic border in relation to the national States, that generates feelings of belonging, mobilizations and political positions that confront the problems that threat its territory. Thus, we analyze the construction of a transnational ecopolitic that supposes the conformation of bonds, alliances and connections between local and transnational social subjects. Within this set of relations, we focus on the link established between the NGO Swissaid and the Zenu people, being interested, mainly, in the joint of the cultural and territorial demands of this traditional group with that of other social subjects that circulate in the biodiversitys network of Latin America, under the perspective of the campaign Seeds of Identity. We emphasize also the relation that the Indian Zenu families establish with the territory, specially with the culture of the maize, making an approximation to the community practices that sustain the biodiversity and look to continue the social reproduction of this traditional people.

Previous issue date: 2017-07-03 / Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPq / The territory is analyzed in this research from the universe of food. The starting point are relations with
tourism in the historic city of Pirenópolis, located in Gold and Crystals Tourist Region, in Goiás. The
main objective is to understand how food, eating habits, and meal can make the territories and the
identities dynamic. It is assumed that meals and eating are not neutral and involve broad issues beyond
nutritional satisfactions, and has cultural keys for the constitution of the identities of people, territories
and cities. Selected national and international examples where cooking or recipes made the territory
dynamic, until one arrives at the reflections on the relevance of food for tourism in Goiás.
Methodological strategies include bibliographical reviews, field works, film, music, documentary,
academic research and journalistic texts analysis. Four field works were carried out in Pirenópolis (GO)
and one in Cidade de Goiás (GO), in selected dates to be considered the gastronomic festivals of the
two cities. We used secondary data collected from the official bodies and the theoretical-methodological
database of universities. As for the primary data, were performed photographic registration and
interviews that included people of different profiles: tourists, local residents, state and municipal public
managers, event organizers, cooks, chefs and private entrepreneurs in the restaurant sector. In the
presentation of the results, maps, infographics, tables and other resources were elaborated in addition to
the text that helped expose the theoretical-empirical advances. The results of the research indicate that
globalization is capable of influencing even the territory of historical cities, with implications crossed
by contradictions and seen in food. It has been observed that the identities revealed by food are exploited
by tourism and that global actors and actions can promote the gradual change of local eating habits. It
is evidenced that Cerrado has important ingredients to be valued and that part of the culture from people
and cities are synthesized by food, because of that it is necessary to think about strategies for the
strengthening of the territories and the local food cultures for the frequent local-global confrontation
promoted by mundialization.

TESE ANALISE DA DINAMICA TERRITORIAL DE QUIRINOPOLIS (GO) - 1960 a 2010.pdf: 1918231 bytes, checksum: d4f8dc3bbcc9c6e8de49370dda40003d (MD5)
Previous issue date: 2011-12-09 / The research on territorial dynamics in Quirinópolis aims to analyze the economic, political and social changes in this county since 2005 caused by the establishment and expansion of the agro-energy sector, which develops the productive process driven by large flows of capital and technology, territorialized in soybean and pasture
production areas, forcing the migration of farmers and rural workers, changing the GDP and the flow of goods and services, leading to real estate and wages valuation.
The discussion of theoretical and methodological research, as (Saquet, 2007 pgs. 53-74), based on territorial approach , and it was necessary, as (Santos, 1999 pgs. 41-46), a technical, scale and time periodization that allow research
operationalization, dividing the production process developed from the 1960s in three phases, which correspond to the following consecutive chapters. Chapters I and II are characterized by the introduction and integration of the Midwest Region in the national production process, the theoretical conceptualization and the emphasis on the development of rice and corn crops. In Chapter III major technological changes that occurred from the 1970s through the full mechanization of the production process are characterized, generating a large turnover of small and medium
producers in the transition of the crops of rice and corn to soybeans, changing the population dynamics with strong rural exodus. In Chapter IV territorial dynamics is analyzed from the implementation of this sector that acts as an hegemonising actor, introducing changes in the production process, the collection and public relations market, generating social conflict by changing the production structure, deterritorializing small and medium landowners, tenants and workers, forming an
inflexible territorial system and with full control of the production, manufacturing and distribution processes. It is concluded that the agro-energy industry changed old
municipal power correlations, structuring and strengthening a new territorial dynamic, seeking to overcome the new regional inequalities from the fed credit incentives, technology and the availability of natural resources, which result in different
productivity levels, values and rents.
capítulos a seguir.

Previous issue date: 2012-03-09 / The environmental education is an educational practical developed in the formal education of
environmental dimension in the daily social. We observe nowadays the multiplicity of
resources what goes get to constitute, a new way to produce knowledge a new way to think
about the reality. Therefore, the present study emphasize the representations, built for
determined groups and that can contribute for a practice of a environmental education in the
public schools. The place chosen for development of resource was Bananal Island and
outskirts TO, specially in the city hall Pium, Cristalândia, Confusion Lake and Formoso do
Araguaia. The main objective of the study was to analize as the guys which live in the
Bananal Island and outskirts TO relate with this place and construct territorialities, aiming
to understand the representations constructe by colaboraters of investigation about Bananal
Island and that forms this knowledge can contribute for the practice he environmental
education in the public schools of outskirts of Island. Some objectives was established taking
as reference the observation of reality to understand the relations of communities of outskirts
of Bananal Island and the livers and managers of PARNA do Araguaia, from yours
representations about own Bananal Island, such as: to identify the territorialities constructed
by the subjects what live in the Bananal Island and outskirts; to identify the conflicts from the
different types or uses and the territorialities of subjects of resource; to investigate in the
public schools of cities resource development the Environmental Education determining as

resource teachers, farmers withdrawers, Indians and managers of National Park of Araguaia,
showed the territorialities and the territories formation, identifiers, what identify relation
territory has in the place the sense of belonging of guys that live and conceive his, and still
this feeling of belonging express several forms. We observe still that conflicts of use of
territory of Bananal Island for this subject as well one diversity of representations this
territory, staying obvious what from like this perceive and represent of Bananal Island, orient
to look each one, each one inside of his specificities, and when the representations are
assimilated express the relation of guy with the world and same time place the guy in this
world. Finally, the information introduced a vision as well the practice at environmental
education in the area resource. Was possible give some suggests of intervention, because all
proliferating of actions in the schools had as of environmental education we perceive that
same continues in character sensitive and innocent that only the change of behavior is enough
to resolve the environmental problems.
Observamos atualmente a
O presente estudo, nesse contexto, enfatiza as representações
territorialidades e conflitos na Ilha do Bananal e entorno To.
ambientais.

Previous issue date: 2010-02-23 / Labor relations in contemporary capitalism has undergone significant changes, whose significance for social organization has been deeply determinants. The size of this importance can be seen in everyday life, in the process of transformation of the environment has been fostered in an ever more intense. This has contributed to intensify the degree of disposability of contemporary production, characteristic of the capitalist social formation. This disposability is not only the goods produced, but also of the worker, because a considerable portion of the working class has become dross, and the recycling material pickers are entered into this process. It is also a noticeable restructuring of the space from the creation / renovation of productive activities, which appear as responses to the needs of building and rebuilding of a new geography of labor under the capitalist social formation in the nineteenthcentury. Appears significantly also a new technical division of labor, which has at its core the spatial scaling of the working classes. This respatialization piecemeal work, ensures a lower resistance to exploitation and therefore maintaining the profitability of capital. Thus, we have several ways to absorb labor force in ways increasingly precarious as in the productive chain of recycling. There is thus of reproduction a lumpenproletariat situation that materializes in territories increasingly precarious. This instability, occurs mainly by loss of the ability of the working classes to control the dynamics of production/ social reproduction. Large portions of the working classes are then robbed even of their right to life. We are experiencing an extreme dehumanizing reality of the work, and collector expresses quite clearly this process.
