Larsson, Susanna, Lindegren, Mimmi January 2018 (has links)

Sào Joào del-Rei et Braga XVIIIème - XXIème siècles / Two cities, one celebration. The holy week in the lusophone world. São João del-Rei and Braga XVIII-XXI centuries

Campos Franco, Suely 27 January 2012 (has links)
This research is about the Holy Week’s religious celebrations wich have been practiced in São João del-Rei (Brazil) and Braga (Portugal), two Lusophone world’s cities, relying on both Anthropology and History. We intend to present the catholic celebration in these two societies which are influenced by the baroque culture from XVIII century till nowadays. In our research the Holy Week is comprehend as a social representation space as well as an identity assertion of these two societies. Our analysis focuses primarily on searching the cultural elements persistence in these celebrations that condense the social processes in contemporary society. We have tried to observe, in an objectivity way, the ruptures and the ceremonies constructions that have occurred in these celebrations practices and which are supposed to define new ceremonies meanings as a proof beyond the time seen as a deeply rooted social practice.

No labirinto da memória: fabricação e uso político do passado de Mossoró pelas famílias Escóssia e Rosado (1902-2002) / In the labyrinth of memory: fabrication and political use of the past of Mossoró by the Escóssia and Rosado families (1902-2002)

Falcão, Marcilio Lima 20 February 2018 (has links)
This study brings an analysis of the fabrication and use of the past as one of the strategies of domain of the Escóssia and Rosado families in Mossoró from 1902 to 2002. The investigation was conducted by innumerable sources, among which the press, especially the O Mossoroense newspaper, stood out, because it was in its pages that the city\'s past was being built from the selection of two events: September 30th of 1883 (date when the city abolished local slavery) and June 13th, 1927 (when the city resisted the attack of the gang of cangaceiros led by Lampião). The objective was to comprehend the incorporation of these events into the municipal civic calendar and its transformation into public celebrations, which took as reference the narratives presented in the newspapers, cordéis (folk literature), photographs and works of the scholars of the city that were connected to the publisher Coleção Mossoroense. Through this documentation, it was tried to understand how the narratives on the past of people from Mossoró, present in the celebrations, correspond to a framework of essential memory, especially, to the agency and placement of the political image of the Escóssia and Rosado families as builders of the past of the city.

O apóstolo pregresso e as alegorias da fundação -  Anchieta, um mito fundador no IV centenário da cidade de São Paulo / The pregressive apostle and the allegories of the foundation: Anchieta, a founding myth in IV Centenary in São Paulo city

Quarenta, Ednilson Aparecido 25 September 2009 (has links)
This paper analysis the debates about the choice of the founder of the City of São Paulo, between 1953 and 1954, when it was celebrated its IV Century Foundation Anniversary. There were many discussions in the media of that time newspapers and magazines that were published with relative frequency in the city - about the myth of the founder of the City of São Paulo and the attributes that gave sense and meaning to the paulistanidade. These manifestations highlighted the countless symbols nominated as the icons of the paulistana social memory and its identity. Through the analysis of large media material, we get to the core hypothesis of this paper: the configuration, in this moment, of José de Anchieta as the myth of the founder of the City of São Paulo.

It is Our Responsibility to Prepare Children for an International World : Educators Discuss Celebrations and Traditions within Preschool Curriculum

Malloy, Meredith January 2018 (has links)
Framed within a society where many Swedes consider themselves to be semi-secular, where by law schools and preschools shall be nondenominational; a paradox occurs if many preschools acknowledge celebrations and traditions of historically Christian background exclusively. Previous research has suggested potential reasons for uncertainty with regard to including celebrations and traditions with a historically religious background. Building off of that research this case study attempts to approach a more definitive answer regarding the decision process behind deciding which celebrations and traditions are included, and therefore which are excluded, from the local curriculum. Using qualitative and quantitative data, this case study is designed to answer two questions. First, ‘what specific factors are considered when an educator decides which traditions and celebrations s/he includes in the local curriculum?’; concluding that the preschool’s administration, an educator’s particular group of children, and an educator’s personal knowledge are the three specific factors considered when an educator decides which traditions and celebrations to be included in the local curriculum. Second, ‘how does an educator take cultural celebrations and traditions into consideration when designing the curriculum for the classrooms?’, further concluding that an educator takes cultural celebrations and traditions into consideration via conversation with their collegial group, recalling previous positive experiences, and active decision making. From these six factors which affect curriculum content regarding celebrations and traditions; the preschool’s administration, an educator’s particular group of children, an educator’s personal knowledge, collegial discussion, previous experiences, and active decision making, three main factors have been identified from the overlapping nature of the six factors. Summarily, this study concludes that the three factors that affect curriculum content regarding celebrations and traditions are administration, group, and knowledge. Where an educator’s group and an educator’s knowledge can be applied as a situation necessitates from two perspectives each. Where an educators group can be seen from a collegial perspective or from the perspective of the educator’s group of children. Finally, an educator’s knowledge can be divided into their personal knowledge and their previous theoretical knowledge.

The intent of this paper is to search through different documents to perceive how the Bento Gonçalves da Silva monument was built in the mid-1930s in Porto Alegre, explain from the appropriation of the farroupilha memories by the historians and intellectuals from Rio Grande do Sul. I want to grasp how was built the "stage" for the rehabilitation of the gaucho memory, and, to realize how this fact contributed to build a place of memory from the Farroupilha Revolution in Porto Alegre. To do so I seek to verify how the formation of the imaginary Brazilian way of the gaucho came to be, based in a regional hallmark. I begin from the theoretical and intellectual level and, searching through political practices , I get to the materialization of the memory in the bronze from the monument to Bento Gonçalves da Silva. In the end what can be seen in the monument is a memory that is perpetuated, and in each conjuncture reinforces the idea of "heroism" by the gaucho in the adjustment of the collective memory, therefore fostering the collective imaginary of the people from Rio Grande do Sul around the Farroupilha Revolution history.

Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-29T14:27:21Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Mauricio Nascimento Cruz Filho.pdf: 432993 bytes, checksum: 123405fd09ee5d5ae543e233f8abc313 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-05-16 / ADVENIAT / This research aims to reflect on the presence of Eucharistic liturgy on television with focus on the broadcasted Mass. The reflection on the sacramental liturgy of the Eucharist on TV is in the historical context of this media, highlighting its concepts anchored to journalism, which is seen as the reason for every media action. In a first moment, the intention is to show the current reality of the TV considering that journalism has given in to the commercialization of information and, in addition, to highlight the concern about broadcasting the sacred liturgy in this sort of environment as well as its ethical consequences. Having the industrial period as the historical context from which TV emerged, the study shows the internal dynamics of this media, its production and relation with the viewers. In the second stage, the research provides the context of the sacred liturgy of the Church, showing fundamental concepts such as rite, cult, celebration, the Eucharist, the Table of God s Word, participation, sacraments and sacramentals, communion, communication, validity, identity, community, presence, assembly, time, space and others, coming from ecclesiastical documents of divine worship in communication. Finally, based on research conducted with Catholic viewers, the object of study is analyzed drawing a parallel between contributions of the authors who observe media culture, the guidance documents of the Church, and the appreciation of survey respondents about Eucharistic celebration on television, standing out on the horizon of evangelization a privileged means for this type of TV program / O objetivo desta pesquisa é refletir a presença da liturgia eucarística no espaço da televisão, tendo como foco a missa televisionada.

Jovens universitários brasileiros nas linhas de produção japonesas: uma contribuição ao estudo do fenômeno migratório entre o Brasil e o Japão (1908-2008) / Young Brazilian university students in Japanese production lines: a contribution to the study of migration between Brazil and Japan (1908-2008)

Fugii, William Kyoshi 16 February 2009 (has links)
From the mid-80s, the Nippo-Brazilian migratory flow to Japan began in the dynamics that became known as Dekasegui Movement. The genesis of this movement in such period is related, among other aspects, to different social and economic reality between both countries. Brazil deeply experienced the impacts of the global crisis of the capitalist system of the 70s, which, among other effects, increased signficantly the unemployment rate in the country. Japan, which was the cradle of the technological innovations corresponding to the post-fordist period, realized that its economic development was affected by the lack of labor for its industries in expansion. There were, therefore, common interests between the parties, which culminated with the beginning of the dynamics. The reform of the Japanese Immigration Law of 1990, which starts to authorize descendants of Japanese immigrants until the second generation, i.e., niseis and sanseis (and their spouses) to enter legally in Japan to work, clears the way to a very fast growth of the development, presently represented by about 350,000 Brazilians working in Japan. At the end of the 90s, however, the dekasegui movement presented signs of weakness because of the reduction of people joining it. In other words, it seemed that the Nippo-Brazilians susceptible to the immigration experience in Japan were dwindling. In this context, we start to visualize the strategies of contracting companies to attract a new segment of Nippo-Brazilian communities that, up to that time, were not so involved in the movement: young universitarians. Behind the façade of vacation programs, internships or the like, the insertion of these young people in the dekasegui movement has increased day by day, revealing one of the peculiarities of the dekasegui phenomenum, which is the continuous transformation in its dynamics. In order to understand such dynamics, however, we recongnized specially based on the field research in Japan, in July 2006 that besides the economic and macrostructural motivations of the movement, there are also subjective motivations. of the Nippo-Brazilian immigrants, since it is a matter of immigrating to the country of the ancestors. In other words, there are subjective elements symbolic, affective and identity of the Nippo-Brazilians involved in the movement which, among other aspects, have legitimated a resigned acceptance of the dirty, dangerous and heavy work position by these workers.
