Podoby autobiografických forem. Přestupný rok - Disiecta membra - Let let / The Forms of Autobiography. Přestupný rok - Disiecta membra - Let let

Stejskalová, Anna January 2016 (has links)
This doctoral thesis is concerned with autobiographical forms, their general characteristics as well as with three examples of Czech works of art that prove how difficult it is to make that general characteristics and show various kinds of autobiographical narrative. It aims to show the often heterogeneous character of the so- called autobiographical genres, and present some approaches in their study. In the opening chapter, we define the term autobiography or autobiographical form in regard to literary history and theory, and special attention to Czech research in this field. We concentrate on the genre specifics of autobiographical forms, the opposition of "literary" and "authentic" diary, the term "autobiographical pact" coined by Philippe Lejeune and several patterns of autobiographical memory introduced by James Olney. The key aspect of our study is the nature of autobiographical form derived from the subject's style and illocutionary acts, i. e. stylization as defined by John Searle followed by Jean Starobinski or Paul de Man. Out of the wide spectrum of issues connected with autobiography we focus on the description of the subject's narrative structure, mainly on its language, style, frequent motifs, its memory and relationship to other characters in its text. The complexity of the very...

Formes et fonctions du paysage dans l'épopée hellénistique et tardive / The forms and functions of the landscape in hellenistic and late epic

André, Laury Nuria 08 December 2012 (has links)
The undertaking of this work is to analyze the forms and functions that the landscape can take in a corpus of posthomeric epic texts. The Argonautica of Apollonius of Rhodes and its late anonymous rewriting The Orphic Argonautica, the Posthomerica of Quintus Smyrnaeus, the Ilioupersis of Triphiodorus, and The Dionysiaca of Nonnus Panopolitanus provide us with a fruitful field of investigation for the analysis of the literary representations of the landscape as transhistorical. Firstly, our texts operate one transformation of the archaic epic landscape that is first the image of the world with which it merges (the conformity placed between shield, island, and world) by separating the landscape from this equation and giving it greater autonomy. The world is a mosaic of autonomous landscapes that gain texture as they take on a dimension of identity. The polymorphism of the landscape then gives its moving texture to the world of the ancient Greeks : the plastic and artist dimension is borrowed by the Epic text to put into words the images of the world, which reveal epic landforms. A variety of landscape patterns emerges and opens the literary intertext to the heterogeneity of artistic forms. From this fusion of process and forms, a singularity arises, a singularity particularly antique of the perception and the translation of the landscape : wonder. Landscape and wonder mingle so narrowly as to substitute one for the other : this is a possible definition of the ancient landscape from the Hellenistic period. But the landscape as thus identified and constructed also belongs to the world the image of which it contributes to form. It is clearly localized in a geographical perspective : the landscape becomes a vivid picture of the world and the former offers the latter its identity by its unique topical characteristics. It is a form of regional identification and it is sometimes confined to the vernacular. The landscape becomes an instrument for intellectual and cultural promotion. Between formal diversity and local singularity, the landscape travels between fiction and reality : its construction methods borrow from the literary and artistic and then extend to nature. The epic genre, characterised by innovative intertextuality, makes the landscape the image of the process of transposition and adaptation. As a manifestation of the exercise of a singular and then a collective ancient subjectivity, the landscape is an instrument for measuring the unfolding of the imagination at work in the complex process of literary reception and cultural transmission ; the ancient landscape between transmission and invention, opens itself up to the everyday and social experience. Its ancient existence is effective.

Contributions à la modélisation mécanique du comportement de mèches de renforts tissés à l'aide d'un schéma éléments finis implicite / Contributions to the mechanical modelling of glass fibre tows behavior with a finite elements implicit simulation scheme

Florimond, Charlotte 29 November 2013 (has links)
Simulating the manufacturing process of woven preforms is a major stack for understanding the development of composite materials, used in high performance industries. The effect of the weaving loom on the preforms is very important to caracterize their mechanicals properties. Experimental tests are realised to identify the physical phenomenon. Different deformation modes are studied : elongation, compaction, shear and distortion. The bending and friction behavior are also important to understand the effect of weaving process. Two constitutive laws are considered : a hypoelastic law and a hyperelastic law. An analyse of their properties is presented, and their implementation in a commercial software, ABAQUS/Standard, is detailed. In this purpose, two subroutines can be used. The modelisation of the mechanical behavior of the tows is finally realised with a transversely isotropic hyperelastic St-Venant model, with the subroutine ABAQUS/Standard UANISOHYPER_INV. To conclude, an identification method is presented and the simulated results are compared to experimental tests. The obtained consitutive behavior is finally used to simulate the weaving process.

Lipůvka – spirálová okružní křižovatka silnic I/43 a II/379 / Lipůvka – turbo roundabout of roads I/43 and II/379

Patočka, Miroslav January 2014 (has links)
This thesis builds on previous work on an Institute of Roads FAST VUT dealing with modifications of road I/43 Brno – Svitavy. A conversion of the existing temporary three leg single lane roundabout to egg turbo roundabout with four legs, is proposed there, in accordance with local plan of Lipůvka. The intersection of road I/43 and II/379 can be characterized by large congestions in the morning peak hours during weekdays and afternoon peak hours on Saturday and Sunday. That is the reason for implementation of capacity assessment of designed turbo roundabout and comparison with current situation. Construction of fourth leg is motivated by the planned expansion of residential area and the development of industrial zone on the south-western outskirts of the village and rerouting of the county road II/379 out of built-up area as well. Road I/43 is an important thoroughfare north of Brno, so it is obvious effort to eliminate the bottlenecks on the route. The thesis also includes a theoretical introduction dealing with the design of turbo roundabouts abroad.

The role and status of women during the pre-monarchic period (1200-105 BC)

Sha, Halima 11 1900 (has links)
The lives of women are largely hidden in the Old Testament. New archaeological investigationsinto the households of Iron Age I have brought forward new evidence that sheds light on theauthority status and roles of women in the pre-monarchic tribal community. Conventional theory perceives that women were always oppressed and marginalised under a malevolentsystem of male rule in the Bible. The evidence indicates differently. Investigations in thedomestic sphere, where the household processes were under women’s control and management, imply that women held authority that was equal to male power in the public domain. It has been revealed that women held significant positions in the public sphere as well. This study, therefore, is an investigation into women’s status and the wide-ranging socioeconomicand religious roles they held within a system of male rule that allowed women theirauthority and autonomy in a unique period of Israelite history. / Biblical and Ancient Studies / M. Historie textilní továrny "Bedřich Reich" v České Skalici / History of "Bedřich Reich" textile factory in Česká Skalice

Kušiaková, Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
This thesis describes a history of Bedřich Reich's mechanical weaving - which was established on the turn of 19th and 20th century in Česká Skalice, a textile region in East Bohemia, by his father Karel Reich. From the historical sources of East Bohemia's archive are in the work mentioned technical proposals related to the factory construction, financial statistics and documents relating to the production of textile. In a separate section is presented the story of a Jewish family of Bedřich Reich, describing an idyllic life between two wars, however, at the time of the protectorate tragically touched by factory aryanization and transport to Terezín and Auschwitz. The main period occurs after the war, when the daughter of Bedřich Reich, Eva, returned as the only one home to Česká Skalice. In years 1945-1989, the factory became part of the national corporation Lina Jaroměř and later Mileta Hořice. The final part covers the beginning of the 90s, when the factory was returned in restitution to the descendants of Mrs. Reichová - Zelená.

Recovery From Design

Ellison, Cassandra J 01 January 2017 (has links)
Through research, inquiry, and an evaluation of Recovery By Design, a ‘design therapy’ program that serves people with mental illness, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities, it is my assertion that the practice of design has therapeutic potential and can aid in the process of recovery. To the novice, the practices of conception, shaping form, and praxis have empowering benefit especially when guided by Conditional and Transformation Design methods together with an emphasis on materiality and vernacular form.
