Tefera, Behailu January 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to examine the experiences of young adults concerning the virtual community of Internet communities and how it affects their health and learning. The study is based on public health educational perspective and was based on a qualitative study. During the execution of the study, eight individuals participated in individual interviews. In the background I illustrate how technological progress changes the social interaction in society. Increased communication through Internet community has contributed for peoples to have greater social network without physical barriers. The problem area was that the growing use of online communities can cause dependence, which in return can lead to sedentary lifestyles. Stress and lack of sleep were the symptoms that have been shown to be prevalent. In the literature review I illustrate the importance of social capital, physical health and even learning with multimedia. In the discussion I discuss the importance of social capital related to the virtual community and how it may affect health and learning. My conclusion is communication through the Internet comunities has become everyday issue and that it can affect people’s health and learning. Also that it may be an important factor for health and learning.

Mobile Gemeinschaften im E-Government

Fritsch, Lothar, Stephan, Kerstin, Grohmann, Alexander 15 December 2014 (has links) (PDF)

Beautiful life: Study on the interaction among Web-Photo-Album-Community.

Pang,Hui-chieh Unknown Date (has links)

Hsu, Kuo-Feng Unknown Date (has links)

Tavilla, Valériane 12 October 2012 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to understand terroir as a tangible communication territory, starting with the lack of conceptual translation in foreign language. Terroir comes to rest in a social space characterized by fleeing models, above and beyond Law, History and Agronomy. Food and eating become the space of contradictory signs for the “social eater” attuned to hedonism and control. The object seduces him to satisfy his desires for authenticity and taste. Discourses and scenes show terroir in an imaginary world, made up of food patrimony and symbolic identity. But it arouses tensions because economic actors take it hold of it. A review of the history and rules about terroir’s provokes its confrontation with everyday reality and reveals its polysemy. Certain differences of meaning exist between criteria established by norms and the eater’s practices toward “nostalgic food”. The study of terroir as a social construct proceed through paradigmatic displacement, from beliefs and labels, to terroir’s mediations in devices. They create meaning around know -how and certain values. The aims, here is to demonstrate that multiple significations coexist and to study how the mediations of terroir’s logic of the senses in figurative spaces are created. We then tested it in two spaces similar to symbolical public spaces: consumers‘s association and internet forum.

Analyse des échanges en ligne dans un groupe de pratique du français sur Facebook / Analysis of online exchanges in a French practice group on Facebook

Aljerbi Asad, Nahla 09 March 2018 (has links)
This study focuses on French as a Foreign Language (FFL) and Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). It investigates the natural exchanges of Libyan learners practicing French in a Facebook group. The situation that we are exploring is informal because the group was created by the participants themselves without any intervention neither from teachers nor from ourselves. Computer-mediated communication (CMC) has already been well studied in formal contexts but very little in informal contexts, which is why we think a descriptive study aimed at gaining an understanding of particular experience is suitable. Our data is on-line exchanges corpora covering five months with 947 posts and 3408 comments, as well as 11 interviews conducted with some of the participants in the observed group. The research is based on an ecological analysis to study exchanges in a wider environment where several factors interact (linguistic, social, cultural, political factors). In order to examine what happens in this informal space dedicated to the practice of French, we first provideda broad description of learners’ discursive practices in order to get a general sense of their activities. The languages used, the functions of the language used by the messages, the way in which the messages and comments respond (or do not respond) to each other and finally the semio-linguistic characteristics of the exchanges were examined. We then explored how these practices contribute to the establishment of social ties, whether a virtual community emerges and what kind of community it is. Finally, we looked at the value that participants attach to their exchanges and experience as members of this group.

Sites and services, which were static, get more and more dynamism and visual stimulus through images, with emphasis in attributes promoters of “happiness”. This investigation takes a look at the implications of happiness ideals in young users of communities from the technological service Orkut. We aim to detect through manifestations (expressions, images and virtual communities) the associations with attributes promoters of “happiness”. We also objectify to investigate the discourse of young users of this technological service, the ways they receive these kinds of virtual communities, interpreting the senses obtained in the use of Orkut. We also try to reflect critically about the new forms of relationship between men and several consumption signs and their repercussion while a source producer of subjectivation processes. The qualitative approach orientates this study conceptually, as it is the adequate way to understand the psychosocial phenomena which is highlighted in this research: the relation between cyberspace and “happiness” ideals. As it is an investigation of critical nature, we start epistemologically from the Critical Theory because it has a theory that has as an one of its more excellent tasks reflection, with sights to the emancipation human being, on the immediate actions of the gift in the products of the cultural industry, in search of its determinative historical and cultural. Activities with a group of young students from a private school in the city of Fortaleza (Ceará) were carried out using the (Con)text Method of Multiple Literacies, in order to collect texts about juvenile impressions related to the service Orkut. In the empirical investigation the following categories standed out: 1) Differentiation (To be distinct from the others, feeling important through compliment expressions from others); 2) Popularity (it is related to the ideal of “fame”, concerning the number of friends and fans); 3) Attractivity (relevance to determined beauty patterns). Psychosocial attributes such as beauty, differentiation and visibility (understood here as happiness ideals in the cyberspace), are more and more standed out and emphasized by Cultural Industry in the contemporaneity. This way, the identities of young members of virtual communities seem to be directly or indirectly subordinated to the apropriation of this service (while a differential consumption sign), what repercutes in the daily life of these individuals and starts to play a significative role which constitutes subjectivations. This research is concluded with an invitation to think about the possibility to create new actions and practices that can provide critical reflections and experiential spaces related to cyberspace, in a transdisciplinary context.
