Studie- och yrkesorientering i AMS yrkesinformerande texter 1940-1970Mannberg, Jan January 2003 (has links)
Careers education was first established in Sweden at the beginning of the 1940s. At that time it was mainly the concern of the Swedish Labour Market Board. The Labour Market Board started to develop a model, partly influenced by the activities of other countries in the field, that over the years grew into something exceptional with for instance a lot of activities in schools. In the early stages the aim was the development and production of informational texts. The person behind most of the ideas was Einar Neymark. In 1971, responsibility for careers education was handed over to the school authorities except for the part concerning the production of occupational information texts. The aim of this study is to improve our understanding of careers education as it is represented in occupational information texts produced by the Swedish Labour Market Board, in the period from 1940 - 1970. The empirical research focuses on careers education and gaining an understanding through the texts within (not about) careers education. The research has a philosophical-hermeneutic orientation and falls into two parts. Starting from an assumption that the intentions behind careers education are met, three “careers education realities” are constructed for the sake of argument. These realities are then analysed using a theoretical framework grounded in educational sociology, or more precisely the thinking of Durkheim and Bernstein. The result shows that careers education plays an important role in making invisible the connection between school and society hierarchies and also in creating a collective conscience in a Durkheimian sense. The first constructed “reality” shows that a careers education based on labour market considerations is both normative and deterministic. In this careers education the labour market consists of a variety of working lives depending on who you are and where you come from. For that reason careers education is both limiting and subordinating according to sex and class background. A consciousness-raising careers education is moralizing and limiting. A “perfect” working life is presented to which individuals can relate their personal qualities. For that reason careers education also subordinates. A study-motivating careers education is principally motivating for those who have already had good experiences of schooling. It limits and subordinates primarely in terms of sex. Possible relations between education and working life are mostly discussed in general terms. For example, education will be a good thing to have in a future working life as an insurance against unemployment. The extended analysis, where the above mentioned results are put together, shows that careers education can be described as unjust, limiting and concealing. It is unfair in that it creates images about different and non-questionable working lives for young people to fit into, in that it perpetuates sex and class subordination, and in that it uses present individually related competencies as the grounds for future education and employment. It is limiting through being normative, moralizing and subordinating. It is concealing in that it is being selective concerning the information given in the texts prepared for pupils. Careers education is also adjustable. It fits easily into different situations by being pragmatic and flexible, as is shown by the impact of other scientific areas. This adjustability makes it possible to use careers education regardless of the conception you may have of career choices or wherever careers education is carried out. Being adjustable is not something to be avoided in careers education, on the contrary it is a condition for its existence.

Transmission de la gastronomie française en Chine : entre carrière et transcendance, le cas du restaurant-école Institut Paul Bocuse de Shanghai / The transmission of French gastronomy in China : careers and transcendence : a case study of the Restaurant-School Institut Paul Bocuse, of ShanghaiLouisgrand, Nathalie 28 November 2016 (has links)
How can you transmit taste, or a gesture, or know-how? How can this be taught when the trainer doesn’t even share the same culture or the same codes as the learner? What might this experience add to the future career of those concerned? The aim of this thesis is to add new theoretical and empirical light to the transmission of gastronomic competences and knowledge within an intercultural context as well as to understand its impact on the future careers of chefs and maîtres d’hôtel. This research explores the elitist world of ‘Haute cuisine’, and more specifically the Restaurant-School Institut Paul Bocuse of Shanghai, drawing upon a longitudinal case study done between June 2013 and April 2014.Transferring know-how that combines tradition and innovation requires an understanding of the « spirit » of French gastronomy. Thus, the first article shows that to transmit know-how, practices and this spirit within an intercultural context it is vital to belong to a large and varied community that can guarantee fundamental authenticity. An element of Kant’s transcendental dimension, in which thought precedes existence, is a vital part of this process. The second article examines how interactions between the trainers and the Chinese students are managed during different modes of transmission of the gastronomy. Carlile‘s model (2004) is amended and developed in an intercultural context. At each level of transmission (transfer, translation, hybridisation) a dimension of inclusion and exclusion govern the hierarchical relationship between the intern-trainers and the learners. Finally, the third article explores the benefit of this internship for the careers of the future young chefs and maîtres d’hôtel. The development of the « Career Competences Model », championed by Defillippi & Arthur (1994) and subsequently, Akkermans et al. (2013), leads to the elaboration of a new, international, career competence. This research also reveals signs of an « anticipated boundaryless career » by the young chefs and maîtres d’hôtel.Transmitting a profession, know how, or gestures whilst striking the balance between innovation and tradition requires a common framework of tastes and values. Transcendence serves as the catalyst to such action. This transmission also requires that different modes of interaction be taken into account. These govern the daily relationships between the trainers and the learners especially given the intercultural context. Furthermore, this experience enables the acquisition of specific international competences and lays the foundations for a future boundaryless career.

Previous issue date: 2015-02-26 / In Brazil, low-income youth is prone to unemployment, which is particularly problematic in an emerging economy where income inequality is relatively high, and where future socioeconomic development may depend on the growth and stability of an already vulnerable middle class. Youth unemployment, especially in urban cities, is also associated with high incidents of violence, illegal behaviour, widening inequality and sociopolitical instability. The present study complements existing efforts to advance the employment prospects of Brazilian youth, by exploring the career aspirations of 25 late adolescents living in low-income communities in urban Sao Paulo. The research was conducted by means of focus groups, over the course of four meetings in the Paulistano communities of Vila Albertina, Heliopolis, Vila Prudente and Vila Nova Esperança. The research findings largely echo existing knowledge pertaining to adolescents: they confirm the important role of individual merit, the micro-environment and role models (namely family, peers and local educators) in shaping and enabling (or hindering) the career paths of young adults, and highlight the flexibility and diversity of professional interests during that age. Furthermore, the findings reveal paradoxical attitudes towards low-income communities in Sao Paulo. All participants seemed empowered by elements within their micro-environment, exhibiting sentiments of pride and belonging to their community, yet many seemed troubled by how outsiders stereotype or stigmatize 'favela' dwellers. Overall, the study highlights tendencies that support the case for further investment in the professional development of youth at the base of the economic pyramid. As a potential ecosystem for socioeconomic development, low-income communities can constitute a rich source of not only human capital, but also business opportunities and employment.

Organizações Públicas e Privadas, Feedback do Público e Criatividade) e novos consequentes
The present research was dedicated to study career commitment, more specifically the antecedents and consequences of career commitment in the creative industries. The choice for
the creative industries, represented by the cultural producer, is due to the strong emphasis and growth of the creative economy and, above all, the importance of the social role of art and culture. That being exposed, the objective of this research is to understand how career
commitment of cultural producers happens in the context of the creative industries workplace
along their professional development. Therefore, it was proposed to develop three studies.
The first study proposes a review of the academic literature on the subject, national and
international, and links it to the promising field of creative industries, more precisely the
objective is to identify, describe, classify and analyze the research focused on commitment
under the context of career and the context of the creative industries. The second study sought
to identify, describe, categorize and illustrate the antecedents to commitment of the
professional career of workers in the creative industries, with a focus on cultural producers.
The third study aimed to identify, describe, categorize and illustrate the consequences of
commitment of the professional career of workers in the creative industries, also focusing on cultural producers. Regarding the methodology, the first study theoretical) conducted a systemic analysis to reference the scientific production, while the latter two studies used a
qualitative methodology of the life story approach through the biographical interview
technique. The interviews were conducted with eight cultural producers with extensive work
experience in projects in Bahia’s creative industries scenario in two stages. The narratives
were treated with the procedure of content analysis supported by the interpretative paradigm
and with the help of ATLAS.ti software. The findings suggests that there is a lack of studies that inter-relates career commitment and creative industries. Also, has yet to exist studies that include the temporality factor of a career in researches. In this research, the analysis were made to qualitatively support the antecedents and consequences shown in the literature and propose the inclusion of new antecedents (Passion, Family Support, Support of Public and Private Organizations, Audience Feedback and Creativity) and new consequences
(Professional and Personal Life Conflict, Resilience, Become a Professional Example), in order to contribute to the field's already made progress based on the hegemonic use of quantitative research tools.

Previous issue date: 2015-05-20 / Não recebi financiamento / The aim of this study is to analyze how professionalism, difference, gender and
generation in the journalism career are articulated, from the exam of the journalists’ discourses in the city of São Paulo. We use up the concept of professionalism and the Sociology of the Professions theoretical reference, based
on the contributions of Eliot Freidson and Julia Evetts to understand the values of journalism, the representations around what it would be the journalist’s function, the meaning of the changes in the profession, with the emergency of a new
journalist’s profile, the relations of the profession with the learning at the universities and at the editorial rooms, the historical changes according to the orientation of the journal and the professional, and their specificities with
reference to the process of professionalization of the journalism in Brazil. Our aim is to comprehend how female journalists are represented in different discourses of difference. For this, our approach is set on the Avtar Brah’s
theoretical assumptions, highlighting the concept of difference as an analytical category and its several meanings. We have also based our analysis on other cultural studies agents that discuss about the decentralization of the subject and its identity, as the internal diversity that characterizes gender. Fifteen journalists
were interviewed, women and men, who live and work in the city of São Paulo, of different generations who act in different types of media and with different types of hire in their relations of work. The selection of the interviewed women
searched, contemplate single women professionals, married, with or without
children, with different time of work, that represent the time dedicated to the personal and professional lives, corresponding to the impact of personal life in the construction of the career and to the possibilities to balance between these
two dimensions in the social life.
profissionalização do jornalismo no Brasil.

Gender issues are present in a direct and indirect way in the relations established by society and that direct the pre-established roles of women and / or men and can reproduce inequalities in personal and professional life between the two. The social sciences define gender as a social construction of the anatomical sex and product of social reality, that is, it is based on the reasoning that there are males and females in the human species, but the way of being male or female is realized by the culture independent of anatomy of their bodies. The school environment can be a means of reproducing social differences and imposing cultural patterns related to gender issues, in which educators can reinforce gender biases and stereotypes. It is possible to observe that gender issues focus on the interest between boys and girls for scientific and technological careers. There is a discussion regarding this theme and that is in line with the Movement of the School without the Party Program, which is present in projects of state and municipal laws in Brazil and that provides for their inclusion in the educational system of education. Among several assumptions, the movement vetoes the application of the postulates of the Theory or Ideology of Gender. In this perspective, this research aims to identify the conceptions of educators in the area of Natural Sciences (Biology, Physics and Chemistry) of a state education network regarding the School without the Party Program and the gender issues in that it matches the presence of women in scientific and technological careers. In order to base the analysis, this research uses as theoretical reference the ideas of Paulo Freire present in his work "Pedagogy of the Oppressed". Data collection consists of questionnaires and semi-structured interviews and data analysis uses the Categorical Content Analysis proposed by Laurence Bardin. The results show that the educators' conceptions of the Non-Party School Program show the strength of the false dichotomy expressed by the program: the existence of a "with" school. These conceptions are based on contradictory arguments and do not corroborate with the very Nature of Science and with the researches of science teaching that aim to form autonomous and critical citizens. Regarding gender issues, many of these educators do not understand gender as a social construct of anatomical sex and a product of social reality, but recognize that there is now a greater role for women in science, although they have already witnessed situations that represent the difficulties women face in relation to discrimination and the prejudices they suffer when they refer to motherhood and family issues, harassment and the pre-established careers for men and women.
