The aim of the master thesis is to evaluate the European Union's position in the field of global energy policy. The thesis adopts a concept of actorness which is then applied to the case of the Nabucco pipeline project. The concept aspires to respond to an unclear status of the EU as an entity of its own kind in an international system of states. The study is based on a Brattberg's and Rhinard's approach to actorness which specifies a number of variables. Their analytical framework allows us to assess the extent of EU actorness - the ability to act as an international actor. The particular variable that this thesis focuses on is vertical consistency. Vertical consistency in the academic sphere is regarded as a significant factor of actorness. It is also often considered as an insufficient element of an integrated approach of the EU - internal unity is inevitable for more effective joint policy. Energy policy of several Member States is examined in contrast with the EU energy policy as a whole. Own analytical framework is established due to the lack of information on vertical consistency in the literature. Elbilar blir mer och mer populära i samhället och bredvid traditionella bensinstationer står laddstolpar för att förse elbilar med energi. Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) har under många år levererat bränslelösningar till kunder över hela världen. DFS är världsledande i branchen och har ett stort intresse av att vidareutveckla och undersöka innovativa lösningar på laddningsprocessen. I takt med att elbilsförsäljningen ökar, så ökar intresset för en snabb och enkel laddningsprocess. En kabel som sitter mellan en laddstolpe och en elbil väger idag cirka tre kg per meter. Då laddluckan sitter på olika ställen på olika elbilar krävs en viss räckvidd med handtaget från laddstolpen. En lång räckvidd och tung sladd gör att laddningsprocessen kan bli tung och osmidig. För att förenkla laddningsprocessen undersöks hur en kabelavlastning kan göra processen lättare. Utifrån en given kravspecifikation och med systematisk produkutvecklingsmetodik tas ett kabelupphängningskoncept fram. Konceptet ska ha en lång räckvidd från laddstolpen och en kabelavlastning samt är det önskvärt med en tilltalande design. Konceptet består av ett inelastiskt snöre som i ena änden sitter fast i en kabel och i andra änden sitter fast i en motvikt vars syfte är att avlasta kabeln när laddstolpen används i max utdraget läge. Konceptet detaljutvecklas och dimensioneras med hjälp av hållfasthetsberäkningar. Det färdiga konceptet illustreras i en 3D-CAD modell. / Electric cars are becoming more and more popular in society and next to traditional gas stations there are charging posts to supply electric cars with energy. Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) has for many years supplied fueling solutions for customers all over the world. DFS is a world leader in the industry and has a great interest in further developing and researching innovative solutions for the charging process. As electric car sales increase, so does interest in a fast and simple charging process. A cable that runs between a charging post and the electric car weighs about three kilograms per meter. As the docking outlet is mounted in different places on different models of electric cars, a certain range is required with the handle from the charging post. A long range and heavy cord means that the charging process can be cumbersome and awkward. In order to simplify the charging process, it is being investigated how a cable weight relief can make the process easier. Based on given requirement specifications and with systematic product development methodology, a cable weight relief concept is developed. The concept must have a long reach from the charging post and a cable relief, and it is desirable with an appealing design. The concept consists of an inelastic string that is attached to a cable at one end and at the other end is attached to a counterweight whose purpose is to relieve the cable when the charging post is used in the maximum extended position. The concept is developed in detail anddimensioned using strength calculations. The finished concept is illustrated in a 3D CAD model.

Följande fallstudie fokuserar på hur Instagram påverkar restauranger. Syftet är att bedöma vilka effekter Instagram har på konceptbyggande hos restauranger, för att skapa en förståelse för hur ett socialt medie kan påverka ett företag. Studien är baserade på en komparativ fallstudie av sex restauranger i Sveriges tredje största stad, Malmö, kombinerad med en netnografisk multimodal analys av restaurangernas instagramkonton. Resultatet visar att syftet för användandet av Instagram fyller tre primära funktioner: reklam, kommunikation och sälj. Dessutom visar vårt resultat att Instagram fyller en mer väsentlig funktion för unga restauranger i deras ambition att etablera sig. Vår slutsats är att restauranger använder Instagram för att förmedla sitt koncept, men likväl att Instagram kan påverka en restaurangs koncept beroende på dess primära syfte. / The following study focuses on how Instagram affects restaurants and their concept. The results are based on comparative case studies, combined with a netnographic multimodal analysis, of six restaurants in Sweden’s third largest city, Malmö. Findings show that the purpose for using Instagram fulfills three main effects: advertisement, communication and sales. In addition our results show that Instagram is most essential for young restaurants in their ambition to establish themselves. Our conclusion is that restaurants use Instagram to portray their concept, but also that Instagram can change a restaurants concept depending on purpose.

Energy consumption in vehicles is challenging from an environmental standpoint as well asan economical one. This study is investigating the possibility of implementing regenerativedamping in vehicles. With traditional shock absorbers, the vertical linear motion is dampenedby converting the kinetic energy into heat. The purpose of regenerative damping is to convertthe kinetic energy into electricity instead. The electricity can then be used to charge batteriesor power various systems in the vehicle. Since the authors study mechanical engineering, thisproject mostly involves different concepts and the mechanical aspect of the system. Aliterature study, experiments, interviews and observations were performed to acquire atheoretical foundation. Five different concepts were then developed, one of them wasdetermined the best and further developed. The result of this thesis is that regenerativedamping is not yet mature enough to be used in vehicles. The technology is not justifiable asit does not save enough energy, compared to how much more it would cost to develop andbuild a regenerative shock absorber and the challenges associated with it.

Concept2 är en ledande leverantör av konditionsutrustning, inklusive roddmaskiner, stakmaskiner och träningscyklar. Deras produkter möjliggör konditionsträning oavsett väderförhållanden. SkiErg är en stakergometer som används för att träna kondition och styrka i armar, bål och ben. Användare inkluderar längdskidåkare, allmänna träningsentusiaster och Crossfit-utövare. Redskapet levereras med ett remlöst handtag som kan bytas ut mot ett skidhandtag. Den stora utmaningen var att byta handtag då dagens montering klassas som halvpermanent. Projektets syfte var att skapa en förbättrad användarupplevelse av Concept2 SkiErg handtag samt främja social hållbarhet genom att sätta individens behov i fokus. Projektet avser också att ge studenten en inblick i hur det är att leda och genomföra en hel produktutvecklingsprocess, från planeringsfas till färdig prototyp. Målet var att presentera ett färdigt koncept med en eller flera fysiska prototyper som består av ett anpassningsbart handtag med tekniska lösningar för olika typer av användare. Arbetet följde en produktutvecklingsprocess som omfattade flera steg inklusive en marknadsanalys för att undersöka konkurrenter och användarbehov, konceptgenerering, prototypframtagning och användartester. Projektet resulterade i två genomförbara koncept: SkiErg Grip Adapter och SkiErg ErgoGrip. Koncepten presenterades genom fysiska prototyper och renderingar. Projektet uppnådde sitt syfte genom att skapa en förbättrad användarupplevelse som bekräftades genom användartester. Projektet gav en värdefull inblick i produktutvecklingsprocessen och de utmaningar som kan uppstå. / Concept2 is a leading supplier of fitness equipment, including rowing machines, ski machines and exercise bikes. Their products enable fitness training regardless of weather conditions. SkiErg is a ski ergometer used for cardio and strength training for arms, core, and legs. Users include cross-country skiers, general fitness enthusiasts, and CrossFit practitioners. SkiErg comes with a strapless handle that can be replaced with a ski handle. The main challenge is handle-replacement as the current assembly is classed as semi-permanent. The purpose of the project was to create an improved user experience of the Concept2 SkiErg handle and promote social sustainability by focusing on individual needs. The goal was to present a finished concept with one or more physical prototypes consisting of an adaptable handle with technical solutions for different types of users. The work follows a product development process that includes several steps, including market analysis to explore competitors and user needs, concept development, prototype development and user testing. The project resulted in two feasible concepts: SkiErg Grip Adapter and SkiErg ErgoGrip. The concepts were presented through physical prototypes and renderings. The project achieved its purpose by creating an enhanced user experience validated through user testing. Argos mjölktank på Wedholms AB behöver utveckla vattenlåda med bättre säkerhet för el-kretsar på styrsystem samt reducera processtid för diskning av mjölktank.

Det här projektet utforskar mina två stora intressen inom musik – dess starka narrativa förmåga att berätta konceptuella historier och skapa fiktiva interna världar, samt historie­berättarens personliga konstnärliga identitet. Genom att anta rollen som storyteller, eller concept-teller, strävar jag efter att gestalta egenhändigt skapade koncept i musik enligt specifika riktlinjer. Projektet undersöker fem identifierade delmoment som dokumenterar det konceptuella skapandet i ett musikaliskt medium från början till slut. De färdiga produk­tionerna presenteras för en lyssningsgrupp bestående av 20 personer som utifrån två huvudfrågor får beskriva sin personliga upplevelse av vad musiken gestaltar, samt vad i produktionerna som är konst­närligt utmärkande. Resultaten visar många gemensamma uppfattningar på ett övergripande plan, men också hur skillnader kan ligga i de mindre detaljerna. Reflektioner förs sedan kring fördelarna med att skapa egna koncept innan musiken komponeras, risken att förlora den initiala intentionen mellan delmoment, och värdet i att framkalla och identifiera känslostarka koncept i musik och att föra ett samtal kring dem. / This project explores my two major interests in music – its strong narrative ability to tell conceptual stories and create fictional worlds, as well as the storyteller’s personal artistic identity. By taking on the role of a storyteller, or perhaps concept-teller, I aim to portray self-created concepts in music according to specific guidelines. The project examines five identified stages that document conceptual creation in a musical medium from start to finish. The completed productions are presented to a listening group consisting of 20 people who, based on two main questions, are asked to describe their personal experience of what the music conveys and what is artistically distinctive in the productions. The results show many shared perceptions on a general level, but also how differences can lie in the finer details. Reflections are then made on the advantages of creating concepts before composing the music, the risk of losing the initial intention between stages, and the value of evoking and identifying emotionally strong concepts in music and discussing them. / <p>Till uppsatsen hör utdrag från de musikinspelningar arbetet är kopplat till.</p>

Uppdragsgivaren 3TEMP AB har visionen att med en ny produkt kunna ta sig in på hemmamarknaden för kaffeutrustning. De har planer på en produkt som fungerar som en automatisk kaffebryggare som maler kaffebönor och fyller en kopp. Företaget har lösningar för hur produktens huvudfunktioner skall fungera rent tekniskt, men behöver ett konkret koncept.  Examensarbetet är genomfört som ett projekt med en projektplan innehållande tidplan, riskhantering, organisation och filhantering. Projektet bestod av faserna: planering, förstudie, produktspecificering, konceptgenerering och utvärdering, samt konstruktion och formgivning.  Konceptet är framtaget med hänsyn till en kravspecifikation som upprättades utifrån en förstudie där användares behovs och önskemål undersöktes, samt krav från uppdragsgivaren. Förstudien har främst fokuserat på användaren för att skapa en bild av användarens behov och önskemål. Förstudien visar att en av de viktigaste faktorerna, utöver smaken på kaffet, är att produkten hålls ren och fräsch. Även ljudnivån är en faktor som användaren tänker på. För att produkten skall passa in i användarens kök har trender analyserats. Trenderna tyder på att taktila och naturnära material blir allt mer populära. Dessutom öppenhet är önskvärt eftersom det skapar förtroende för produkten.  Vid generering av koncept användes tre olika idégenereringsmetoderna slumpordsassociation, speedstorming samt brainsketching. Den förstnämnda brukades med ett möjlighetsorienterat perspektiv för att hitta mervärde för produkten. De andra två användes för att hitta konkreta lösningar på problem och funktioner. Idéerna från idégenereringarna sattes ihop till fem olika koncept. Av dessa sorterades två bort med hjälp av en relativ beslutsmatris. Av de tre återstående valdes ett koncept med hjälp av en kriterieviktsmatris och diskussion med uppdragsgivaren.  Det slutgiltiga konceptet har kända element från cafébranschen som bockade rör av rostfritt stål för utloppet, stora greppytor, och väl synliga behållare. I konceptet markeras behållaren för kaffesump med ett handtag som nås direkt från produktens utsida. Detta för att till skillnad från många andra tillverkare lyfta fram behållaren som en viktig funktion snarare än att dölja den.  Genom projektet har skisser används frekvent för att testa idéer. Det valda konceptet har testats med enkla fysiska modeller för att hitta lämpliga former och dimensioner. Efter detta gjordes en mer detaljerad fysisk modell samt en modell i CAD. Från CAD-programmet skapades bilder med genomskärning för att visa produktens layoutkonstruktion, samt en högupplöst rendering. Renderingen användes för att visa hur produkten kan se ut i verkligheten med verkliga material. / 3TEMP was the company that provided the task. They have a vision to enter the market for home coffee equipment with a product that works as an automatic coffee machine. 3TEMP has a solution for how the machines main functions of the machine can work technically but they need a concept for the whole product.  The work was carried out as a project with a project plan containing a time chart, risk management, and a description of the organization and file management. The project consisted of the phases: planning, research, product specification, concept generation and evaluation, and construction and design.  The concept was developed with a product specification in mind. The specification is a list of user needs and preferences, and demands from 3TEMP. Information about this was collected during the research phase. The research showed that one of the most important factors, in addition to the taste of the coffee, is that the product is kept clean and fresh. Many costumers also think that it’s important to minimize the noise from the product. Also trends have been analyzed in order to create a concept that fits into many people’s kitchens. The trends suggest that tactile and natural materials are becoming more popular, and openness is desirable because it creates confidence in the product.  Concepts were generated by using the ideation methods: association by random words, speedstorming and brainsketching. Association by random words was used with an opportunity oriented perspective to find ways to add value to the product. Speedstorming and brainsketching was used to find ideas for the products functions and finding solutions to problems. The ideas from the ideation were combined in five different concepts. Two of these were sorted out using a relative decision matrix. One of the three remaining concepts was selected with a matrix with weighted criteria.  The final concept has well-known elements from the cafe industry as bent tubes of stainless steel, large grip surfaces, and visible containers. The coffee grounds container has a handle that is directly accessible from the outside of the product. This is for highlighting the container as an important function rather than hiding it like many other products do.  Sketches were frequently used to test ideas through the project. The selected concept has been tested with simple physical models to find appropriate forms and dimensions. After this, a more detailed physical model and a model in CAD were made. Pictures were created in CAD to show the arrangement of the components. A high resolution rendering was used to show how the product may look like in reality with real materials.

<p>Ova disertacija posvećena je istraživanju romana Grethen sa osnovnim ciljem da se ukaže na njegovu vi&scaron;eznačnost i vi&scaron;eslojnost, kao i da se interpretiraju rezultati dobijeni njegovom analizom sa određenih metodolo&scaron;kih polazi&scaron;ta.<br />Rad je strukturisan u &scaron;est većih celina. U poglavlju o pripovedanju ukazuje se, primenom Ženetovog pristupa narativnom diskursu, na smenjivanje nulte i interne fokalizacije, kao i na prisustvo i vi&scaron;estruke kombinacije mnogobrojnih tehnika predstavljanja govora i misli naratora i figura.<br />U poglavlju posvećenom prostoru analiziraju se unutra&scaron;nji i spolja&scaron;nji prostori, njihovi delovi i mesta radnje, tumače se njihove funkcije, kao i njihov značaj za analizu likova.<br />U poglavlju o vremenu ukazuje se na odlike vremenskog redosleda, narativnog tempa i frekventnosti, koje doprinose kasnijem interpretiranju romana.<br />Poglavlje o radnji posvećeno je analizi statičnih i dinamičnih događaja, motivaciji radnje i njenoj kompleksnosti, kao i sagledavanju ovog fenomena sa &Scaron;mitovog stanovi&scaron;ta uz primenu teorije mogućih svetova.<br />U poglavlju o figurama analiziraju se i interpretiraju najznačajniji likovi, njihov mogući razvoj i interpersonalni odnosi, kao i funkcije koje imaju u delu.<br />Poslednje poglavlje posvećeno je utvrđivanju (sub)žanrovskih odlika romana Grethen, te se ovo književno delo posmatra i interpretira kao istorijski, psiholo&scaron;ki, &bdquo;ženski&ldquo; roman, ali i kao roman o zločinu.</p>
