Hodnocení ve výtvarné výchově z pohledu žáků prvního stupně ZŠ - empirická výzkumná sonda / Assessment in the art education point of view pupils in the primary school - empirical research probe

Švehlová, Lucie January 2013 (has links)
The theoretical part of the thesis contains information about the assessment and the specific method of assessment in the art education. The research part is divided into preliminary research and three stages of research - the interview, the observation and questionnaire own experiment and subsequent questioning. In these stages of research I have found information on the experiences and attitudes to assessment in the art education, but also on the whole subject of the art education. The survey was conducted in one class mainstream primary school in a small town in the South Bohemian Region. The work provides interesting information about the current view of pupils and their teachers on the art education and its assessment . The results suggest the need for pupils to be assessed, especially classified and the ability of students to use assessment criteria. Research findings may contribute to the debate regarding the evaluation in art education. They are also useful for the preparation of training teachers in the primary education, improving teaching and can be the basis for more extensive research investigations.

Schieber, Andreas, Sommer, Stefan, Heinrich, Kai, Hilbert, Andreas January 2011 (has links)

Mannewitz, Tom January 2017 (has links)
Political Culture has nothing to do with a civilized mode of political behaviour, Instead, it embraces the “subject dimension of politics” – opinions, attitudes and value orientations of society toward politicians, parliament, and other institutions of political life. More than 25 years after German re-unification this project – a product of a research seminar conducted at TU Chemnitz in 2016 – illuminates selected aspects of local political culture in “Saxony’s Manchester”, including the societal perception of political institutions, the evaluation of democratic participatory opportunities, social capital as well as the relevance of social media for political participation.

“Mixing lemonade is chemistry as well, I guess" : Pre-school teachers’ opinions on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) in pre-school chemistry education for children aged 1-3 years.

Olsson, Linda, Johansson, Linnéa January 2024 (has links)
Many children require augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to benefit from the education in pre-school. Thereby AAC can contribute to teaching chemistry, especially to the youngest children. The aim of this study is to bring more knowledge on how pre-school teachers communicate chemistry to children aged 1–3 years, focusing on AAC. Semistructured interviews with ten pre-school teachers were conducted. In order to study AAC as a didactic tool in chemistry education a phenomenographic approach was used. The result has been analysed from a sociocultural perspective as a means to describe learning and teaching.  The study results show that AAC could be a helpful tool in chemistry education for children aged 1–3 years, but so far routines to use these methods in the education is missing. Pre-school teachers describe a number of ways to teach chemistry in pre-school, for example by preparing experiments in advance and integrating chemistry in the children’s everyday life. Furthermore, pre-school teachers mean that a functioning work team and subject specific materials are required to arouse the interest of chemistry in the youngest children. Among other things, insufficient subject-specific knowledge and failing self-esteem are described as limitations. AAC is reported as beneficial for all children and is one of the most important educational tools. At the same time, organisational constraints such as the time-consuming work of preparing AAC material and the lack of routine procedures to maintain educational and working continuity are described. In summary, the study shows both the willingness and the necessity of actively working with AAC in chemistry education.

The attitude of community health nurses towards integration of traditional healers in primary health care in North West Province

Peu, Mmapheko Doriccah 06 1900 (has links)
South Africa is called "the rainbow nation" because it has so many different cultures. These have an impact on the provision of primary health care. The purpose of this research is to foster good relationships between community health nurses and traditional healers and to explore, identify and describe the attitude of community health nurses towards the integration of traditional healers into primary health care. A non-experimental, explorative and descriptive research strategy was designed to explore the working relationship between community health nurses and traditional healers. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire. Quantitative as well as qualitative data analysis techniques were adopted to interpret the findings. The results indicated that respondents demonstrated positive attitudes towards working with traditional healers, especially in the provision of primary health care. Positive opinions, ideas and views were provided about the integration of traditional healers into primary health care. Respect, recognition and sensitivity were emphasized by respondents. / Health Studies / M.A. (Nursing Science)

The individual mindset behind violence in schools specific to the Western Cape

Parker, Fazia 11 1900 (has links)
Text in English / The study aimed at exploring the “mindset” of learners, teachers and principals behind the violence in schools. “Mindset” is a person's general attitude with which he/she approaches a situation and the way they think about things, their experiemces and opinions. The data in the current study was gathered from three schools on the Cape Flats in the Western Cape. The Cape Flats is home to South Africa’s most violent gangs, perpetuated by the socio-economic issues created by apartheid. A provincial breakdown of crime statistics ranks the Western Cape second highest in South Africa. The researcher adopted Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Framework to delineate the risk factors which impact on the community, family, individual, peer group and school environment. Participants’ selection was effected through a non-probability method of purposive sampling. Participants’ in a non-probability sample are selected based on their accessibility or by the purposive personal judgment of the researcher. The downside of the non-probability sampling method is that an unknown proportion of the entire population was not sampled. From the preceding results, it is evident that learners are exposed to many forms of violence. Too many children are reared in dysfunctional families, poorly managed schools and neighbourhoods caught in the grip of violence and poverty. If this malady is not addressed and managed, South Africa can expect another generation of youth who resort to violence as a means of conflict resolution. The rich and in-depth information around participants’ unique opinions, experiences and realities contribute towards a better understanding of school violence, dysfunctional behaviour and towards the improvement of school violence interventions. It is also argued that additional insights from the study would add value to the organisational incapacity management process of schools. / Psychology / M.A. (Psychology)

This study seeks to make a contribution to this debate by undertaking research into the question of the effects of these programmes (called the Secondary Education network in training Secondary School teachers of Portuguese). By assessing the standard of the texts written by students whose teachers took part in the programme, the study sought to determine how much what had been learnt in the area of gender discourse and, in particular the ideas expressed in articles, had become a part of the students´ everyday classroom activities and had helped them to produce texts of their own. To achieve this aim, four teachers were invited from four different schools in the east of São Paulo to select 35 students to write articles expressing opinions. These were marked on the basis of the criteria laid down by the Secondary School Network. The analysis of the results showed that the students had still not mastered the ability to produce written texts of this kind. Thus, although the teachers had taken part in the official programme, they had not managed to teach their students the basic skills required to become competent readers and writers in this area. This finding leads us to reflect on teacher-training courses and the public policies implemented in recent years by the Secretary for Education in the State of São Paulo / A preocupação com o desenvolvimento da compreensão leitora e escritora dos alunos do ensino médio tem sido um tema constante nos programas de formação continuada oferecidos aos professores da rede estadual paulista nos últimos anos.

Opportunities and uncertainties in the early stages of development of CO2 capture and storage

Lind, Mårten January 2009 (has links)
The topic of this thesis is carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and storage (CCS), which is a technology that is currently being promoted by industries, scientists and governments, among others, in order to mitigate climate change despite a continued use of fossil fuels. Because of the complex nature of CCS and the risks it entails, it is controversial. The aim of this thesis is to analyse how the technology may be further developed in a responsible manner. In the first part of the thesis different methods for capturing CO2 from industrial processes as well as power plants are analysed. The aim is to identify early opportunities for CO2 capture, which is considered important because of the urgency of the climate change problem. Three potential early opportunities are studied: i) capturing CO2 from calcining processes such as cement industries by using the oxyfuel process, ii) capturing CO2 from pressurised flue gas, and iii) capturing CO2 from hybrid combined cycles. Each opportunity has properties that may make them competitive in comparison to the more common alternatives if CCS is realised. However, there are also drawbacks. For example, while capturing CO2 from pressurised flue gas enables the use of more compact capture plant designs as well as less expensive and less toxic absorbents, the concept is neither suitable for retrofitting nor has it been promoted by the large and influential corporations. The second part of the thesis has a broader scope than the first and is multidisciplinary in its nature with inspiration from the research field of Science and Technology Studies (STS). The approach is to critically analyse stakeholder percep-tions regarding CCS, with a specific focus on the CCS experts. The thesis sheds new light on the complexity and scientific uncertainty of CCS as well as on the optimism among many of its proponents. Because of the uncertain development when it comes to climate change, fossil fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions, the conclusion is that CCS has to be further developed and demonstrated. A responsible strategy for a future development of CCS would benefit from: i) a search for win-win strategies, ii) increasing use of appropriate analytical tools such as life-cycle analysis, iii) a consideration of fossil fuel scarcity and increasing price volatility, iv) funding of unbiased research and v) increasing simultaneous investments in long-term solutions such as renewable energy alternatives and efficiency improvements. / QC 20100727
