A Study of Diffusion of Innovations in Bureaucracy¡GCase Studies of Taipei Household Registration Office and Department of Health Kaohsiung City Government.

As the situation of politics and economy becomes more and more unstable in Taiwan, people have higher criticism and expectation to government efficiency. However, both of Taipei Household Registration Office and Department of Health Kaohsiung City Government have successfully implemented many innovations in organization and started the initial change in less than 3 years. Thus, this research tries to analyze why and how innovations could be diffused efficiently in these two government organizations and started the change. This research collects abundant data and information through studying documents and many deep interviews at first. Then, these data or information are made a static analysis by Everett M. Rogers¡¦ theory of Diffusion of Innovations and Innovation Process in Organizations, and a dynamic analysis by Casual Loop Diagrams of Systmes Thinking. All analyses include the comparison of these two cases. There are 15 findings as followed: 1. Creating can bring better performance than problem-solving. 2. Characteristics of innovations and inertia of organization will affect the speed of innovations diffusion and the acceptability of innovations. 3. Both of innovations and organization will be modified to fit each other. 4. The leader is the most influent point for diffusion of innovations in bureaucracy. 5. The leader sets an example with his/her own conduct and starts change from small things can be helpful to diffusion of innovations. 6. The leader persistence of innovations is helpful to diffusion of innovations. 7. How the leader diffuses innovations is a process of dynamic coordination. 8. The leader is a designer of loops. 9. Different cases have similar key successful loops and key successful factors because they have the same structure of bureaucracy. 10. Structure can help and block leaders to diffuse and implement innovations in bureaucracy. 11. The innovation process in organization should be observed in a larger structure or system. 12. Reports of Media can motivate employees effectively and facilitate the phenomenon of ¡§lock-in¡¨. 13. Examination and evolution have much efficiency in changing employees¡¦ behaviors in bureaucracy. However, what can change employees¡¦ attitude often are others¡¦ appreciation, work results or leader¡¦s moral integrity. 14. Reports of Media, education training and visits can break the closed system of bureaucracy. This is helpful for diffusion of innovations in organization. 15. No matter the focal point of innovations is on easy and small things whose results are obvious, or on fundamental, long-term and more difficult things such as system and value change, ¡Ketc, all can result in profound changes in organizations. Moreover, this research also finds whether ¡§democratization¡¨, ¡§media¡¨, and ¡§bureaucracy¡¨ will bring good or bad contribution, these three things aren¡¦t the point and the most important thing is how we use them. We should take the responsibility by ourselves.

What's the story? : storybooks in the EFL classrooms

The main purpose of this study is to present a detailed description of the interaction between students and teacher, focusing on which literary elements kindergarteners learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL) respond to during the story-reading sessions. Two teachers and a total of 101 kindergarteners from a private kindergarten located in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan, were chosen for this study. Both qualitative and quantitative data were gathered in the form of classroom observations and student and teacher interviews. This analysis revealed that format was the literary element that students responded to the most. However, factors such as the variance in the students' cognitive level, age, exposure to the target language, teaching method and personality may have affected the results. Consequently, teachers need to take into consideration other literary elements when it comes to storybook selection. Results from this study can be used firstly in developing criteria on how to select storybooks for young EFL learners and how these storybooks can be integrated into the EFL classroom. Secondly, this study can provide information to help further our understanding of how stories motivate children in learning languages, and how stories can be integrated into the EFL classroom. Thirdly, the data from this study can be useful to writers and illustrators of children's books. Finally, it is hoped that this project can also inspire other researchers in pursuing this topic for further study.

本研究共壹冊,約七萬字,分成五章十七節。研究的目的有二: (一)探討刺激尋求動機與創造力、偏差行為的關係,以期對青少年問題提供一個合 理的解釋。 (二)根據研究結果,提出結論和建議,以做為今後青少年教育之參考。 研究樣本包括大台北地區(台北市、台北縣)三九八名國中、高中、高職的男性在學 學生以及一一七名台北少年觀護所的男性少年。研究結果發現: (一)一般青少年和犯罪青少年在刺激尋求、創造力及環境支持的分數上有顯著差異 ,犯罪青少年比一般青少年具有較高的刺激尋求動機和創造力,以及具有較少的環境 支持。 (二)高、低刺激尋求者在創造力及偏差行為上有顯著差異。不管是一般青少年或是 犯罪青少年,高刺激尋求者皆比低刺激尋求者具有較多的創造力及偏差行為。 (三)不同環境支持者在偏差行為上有顯著差異。其中以中度環境支持者的偏差行為 最高,並且顯著高於高環境支持者。但在創造力分數上則沒有顯著差異。 根據以上結果,加以討論,並提出建議,以做為今後青少年教育之參考。

高中聯考壓力與國中生身心健康之研究

本論文共一冊,分為五章十四節,全篇字數約七萬∼八萬字。 一、研究目的 本研究之目的有二:(一)主要在探討國中生的身心健康是否隨所面臨高中聯考壓力 的不同,而有所差異,其差異情形如何﹖(二)高中聯考壓力對身心健康的影響,是 否隨個人考試焦慮、社會支援及自我強度的高低,而有所差異,其差異情形如何﹖ 二、研究方法 本研究以台北市和台北縣各四所國民中學一、六九九位國中生為研究樣本。以「壓力 量表」、「考試焦慮量表」、「社會支援量表」、「問題解決能力量表」、「刺激忍 受力量表」、「症狀檢核表」、「行為改變」及「一般健康量表」為測量工具;並運 用因素分析、逐步多元迴歸分析、變異數分析及多變量分析等統計方法處理資料。 三、研究結果 研究結果發現(一)國三學生,的確有因接近聯考時間,承受較大的壓力,而有較多 的生理症狀出現,身心健康比國一、國二學生差。(二)高中聯考壓力對國中生身心 健康的影響隨考試焦慮高低而有所差異,考試焦慮低者,可緩和壓力對身心健康的影 響,考試焦慮高者,易受壓力影響,其身心健康也較差。(三)高中聯考壓力對國中 生身心健康的影響隨自我強度的強弱而有所差異,自我強度強者,身心健康佳;反之 ,弱者,身心健康較差。(四)高中聯考壓力對國中生身心健康的影響,亦會隨社會 支援的多寡而有差異,社會支援多者,身心健康較良;反之,則較差。 四、建議 根據研究發現提出建議在各校中,加強壓力處理的方法,以期協助國中生面對壓力使 其生理症狀減少。

臺北縣市公私立高中職學校行銷策略實施現況之研究

摘 要 本研究旨在探討臺北縣市公私立高中職學校行銷策略實施現況。為達研究目的,首先係從臺北縣市公私立高中職學校的發展概況切入,探究臺北縣市區域、人口發展與高中職發展之因果關係,進而了解目前高中職學校在少子化及教育市場自由化的趨勢及衝擊下,所引發之經營困境,並利用問卷調查方法,以百分比、次數分配、平均數、標準差、t考驗與單因子變異數等方式進行統計分析,探討學校最佳行銷方式、最優先之行銷對象、學校行銷的主要功能、與不同學校背景變項實際運作行銷策略之狀況及差異情形,以期提供學校訂定最適宜且有利學校永續經營的行銷策略之參考。 本研究依研究目的所獲得之主要研究結論有以下幾點: 壹、臺北縣市公私立高中職學校在推展學校行銷方式上,認為以「設置學校行銷組或公關組--由副校長或校長秘書兼任組長」、「成立跨處室的行銷小組--由校長指派處室主任兼任組長」與「校長親自負責」之方式最佳。 貳、現行臺北縣市公私立高中職學校行銷策略,各項策略之通用性皆極高,尤以「產品策略」與「價格策略」最受重視,而對於「通路策略」、「人員策略」及「推廣策略」則展現較低排序。 參、臺北縣市私立高中職學校在學校行銷的認知、推行與執行困境的感受程度較公立高中職校為強,且高職的危機感較高中更為明顯,顯見現行私立高中職學校的辦學壓力,亟待重視。 關鍵字:臺北縣市公私立高中職、學校行銷策略 / Abstract With the intent to research the status quo of the marketing strategy for the public and private senior high and vocational senior high schools in Taipei City and Taipei County, this study is initiated into a profile of the development of the senior highs in Taipei, which explores the effect of the development of regions and populations on that of senior highs, moreover, probing into the managing difficulties resulted from decreased births and the liberalized educational market. By using poll-taking method, which employs the statistical analysis of percentage, frequency distribution, average, standard deviation, t-test and single-factor-coefficient of variation。 This survey quests for senior high schools’ optimal marketing strategies, the first-priority marketing target, major effect of school marketing, varied practical adaptation in marketing based on different factors of school background, hence, a reasonable guideline emerges for schools to constitute their most adapted marketing strategies that facilitate their sustainable management. The principal conclusions extracted from this research are as follows: 1. As far as school marketing is concerned, the following are currently being widely regarded as best approaches among the senior high schools in Taipei City and Taipei County: A. Setting up a school marketing section or PR section with a section chief concurrently assumed by vice-principal or secretary of the principal. B. Instituting a trans-departmental marketing section with a concurrent chief directly assigned by the principal from one of the section chiefs of the faculty. C. Being under the charge of the principal’s own fair hand. 2. Among the senior high schools in Taipei, the prevailing marketing strategies are highly universal, among which the “product strategy” and “pricing strategy” are especially emphasized, while “marketing channels,” “sales force strategy” and “promotion strategy” are ranked in lower priority. 3. In both Taipei City and Taipei County, with regard to the cognition, promotion and execution of school marketing, private senior high schools perceive more difficulty than public ones, hence, vocational schools appreciate stronger sense of crisis, revealing the crucial pressure on the survival of the private vocational senior highs.
