Utveckling av mobilapplikation

Grennborg, Marcus, Niemeyer, Christian, Svitzer, Andreas January 2009 (has links)
<p>The company System Andersson is developing systems for controlling materials and production in industries. They want to add a new service, where parts of those systems are accessible through cell phones.</p><p>In this paper we are investigating which technology are best suited for this kind of application. And then we describe how we are developing a prototype fort this application, based upon that technology. After investigating technologies such as Java ME, Microsoft Silverlight, and web applications we settled upon building the system as a web application, customized for a mobile environment.</p><p>To build a web page which is readable by many different cell phones we use the markup-languages which are developed for cell phones. We put much effort in reading about the standards and recommendations for the mobile web, produced by the organizations W3C and OMA. It's also very important that one consider the limitations of cell phones, such as the small screens, their limited performance and their limited means of input and navigation. Finally we are very thorough in our testing on several cell phones created by different manufacturers and with different operating systems and web browsers.</p><p>On the server we are running ASP.NET, with a database using Microsoft SQL Server, since this was a request from the company. The development is made in C#.</p><p>We reach a fully operational application with the functions that the company has requested. We got functions for handling orders, changing jobs, supply management, listing employees, and more. We also got a class for generating and rendering of lists and tables for easy and customizable lists for small screens. The application has support for several users with a secure login function.</p><p>We have also created a system running as a service in Microsoft Windows, which is regularly sending messages, in the form of e-mails to the users of the mobile application. The messages contain user defined reminders, e.g. that the factory is running low on a certain material. The message system is well integrated with the rest of the system, in which one can list the active reminders, edit them or create new ones.</p><p>Overall this has been an interesting and successful project.</p>

Utvärdering av sökmaskiner : en textanalys kring utvärderingar av sökmaskiner på Webben / Evaluation of search engines : a text analysis on evaluation of Web search engines

Johansson, Ann, Johansson, Karolina January 2002 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to analyse studies that evaluate Web search engines. This is done in four categories; the researchers’ purpose, the evaluation measurements, the relevance, and the time aspect. Our method is based on a text analysis in which we use the direction of analysis of the content of sixteen evaluation experiments. Our results indicate fundamental differences in the way the researchers are tackling the problem of evaluation of Web search engines. We think that, despite the differences that we have been able to identify, it is necessary to perform evaluation experiments, so that methods can be developed that can guarantee the quality of the Web search engines. To provide people with the kind of information they need is the main task for Web search engines. In an increasing flow of information that task will be even more important. Evaluation of Web search engines can be a part of improving the efficiency of the Web search engines and in that way strengthen their roll as important information resources. / Uppsatsnivå: D

Vetenskap och erfarenhet : en analys av kunskapsrepertoarer i gravidforum på webben. / Science and experience : a study of knowledge repertoires on pregnancy related discussion forums on the Web.

Rydell, Malin January 2007 (has links)
The aim of this Master’s thesis is to examine how health information is integrated into knowledge in an everyday health related context on the web. The more specific aim is, from a LIS point of view, to map knowledge related discourses with the focus on pregnancy, in discussion forums on Swedish health related web sites. The following main questions in this paper are: (1) a) What discourses on pregnancy knowledge can be found and b) how are they expressed? (2) What are the functions of the recognised discourses? and (3) what are the relations between the identified discourses? The theoretical and methodological starting-point is discourse theory with the main focus on discursive psychology according to Wetherell’s and Potter’s theoretical and empirical work. The methodology is text analytical and the material is collected from two discussion forums on pregnancy. The results show a highly complex context where two main discourses, or repertoires, are identified: “The science repertoire” and “The experience repertoire”. When people use the science repertoire they adopt rhetorical patterns such as: “eagerness to know and to learn”, “focus on facts and details”, “strive for control”, “elimination of health risks”. This repertoire is highly influenced by moral issues. When using the experience repertoire, people’s talk is dominated by strive for normality. The tendencies shown can be seen as signs of democratisation of knowledge and this is something that needs to be further investigated from a LIS perspective, of this health and web context of immediate interest. / Uppsatsnivå: D

Museum på webben : en undersökning om användbarhet och åtkomst / Museums on the web : a study of usability and accessibility

Komsell, Lina, Melén, Hanna January 2007 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to describe and evaluate the usability of two Swedish systems, Sofie and Carlotta, which are used to organize and present data regarding museum objects on the web. This thesis also presents how objects are described and made accessible to the public in the two systems. To evaluate the usability, a heuristic method combined with Systematic Usability Evaluation has been used. The description and accessibility of object representations in the systems are evaluated using indexing and classification theories from the field of Library and Information Science. Additional theoretical background that has been used is how users search and browse information systems. Empirical data has been collected by observations made in the two systems as they are made available by Mölndals museum (Sofie) and Göteborgs Stadsmuseum (Carlotta). The results of this study show that the systems need to meet the requirements of the public, the end-users, to a larger extent. Sofie is easy to learn and to use, but over-simplifying the system negatively affects the possibility to effectively access data. Carlotta is a complex system that holds many possibilities to access semantically related data easily. The complexity of the system requires more information about the structure of the system and the different functions available for the user. The representations of objects need to be more consistent in order for the end-users to retrieve them by searching. Additional access points made possible by the implementation of a directory sorted by subject would be beneficial. / Uppsatsnivå: D

Folkbibliotekets plats i den sociala webbmiljön : En undersökning med fokus på litteraturförmedling och läsfrämjande / The public library on the social web : A study focusing on reading promotion and reading stimulation

Sylén, Henrik, Wall, Patrik January 2009 (has links)
The purpose of this Master’s thesis is to examine the function of public libraries on the social web, focusing on reading promotion and reading stimulation. For an understanding of the larger context regarding public libraries on the social web, we conducted online interviews via email with people in the Swedish library profession, together with a content analysis of various texts on the subject found in library journals and on the Internet. Furthermore to identify the public library&apos;s practice on reading promotion and reading stimulation on the social web, we did interviews with librarians at a public library on their use of a blog for this purpose, together with a questionnaire handed out to the library&apos;s users on their use and conceptions of the blog. The conceptual framework of this study consists of four key aspects in the theoretical and empirical definition of Library 2.0 presented by Holmberg, Huvila and Widén-Wulff. The results showed that the public library can create a substantial value through its use of the social web, but it’s necessary to have a clear vision of the desired outcome. The study also showed the importance of seeing the social web as one of several possible channels for the public library&apos;s work, and that it can be specifically useful to reach the younger generation. Moreover the study showed that the social web is a useful tool for the public library’s reading promotion and reading stimulation, as it provides beneficial features for conversation.

Gränssnittsdesign : kvalitativ och kvantitativ utvärdering av FöreningsSparbankens hemsida

Borg, Caroline January 2003 (has links)

Sandahl, Anna, Hylander, Lii January 2012 (has links)
The power of news media to shape public opinion has been widely researched and acknowledged. In the globalized world of today, media representations of different ethnic groups therefore contribute to social segregation or desegregation. This thesis investigates how Spanish news media frame Spain’s most numerous minority of non-European ethnicity: the Moroccans. Using a quantitative content analysis, we have analysed about 200 news articles in the two most read Spanish online newspapers, El País and El Mundo, published during a two-year period, 2010-2012. Our results show that the newspapers produce a negative image of the Moroccan minority, mainly by associating Moroccans with crime and violence, which, to a certain extent, also applies to other minority groups in Spain. This conclusion shows that today, prominent European newspapers mediate a discriminative image of Moroccans and other ethnic minorities, although more through a subtle negative associative pattern than through the use of depreciatory terms or words.

Webbutveckling och märkspråk på Internet

Ericsson, Monica January 1999 (has links)
