Grímnismál : a critical edition

Mattioli, Vittorio January 2018 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is an in-depth analysis of the Eddic poem Grímnismál found in the manuscript known as Codex Regius (GKS 2365 4to), located in Reykjavík, dated to c. 1270 and a fragment (AM 748 I 4to), located in Copenhagen, dated to c. 1300. While a great deal of work has been done on Grímnismál as part of the Elder Edda, there is yet no specific edition focusing on it alone. New studies on Germanic paganism and mythology show its shifting nature and the absence of specific tenets or uniform beliefs throughout the Germanic speaking world and in time. The relatively absent sources are similarly scattered. As such, the thesis suggests a new method of study, following a focused historical approach in which only Grímnismál is analysed in an attempt to understand the beliefs of the people that composed it. The nature of pagan belief itself prevents one from drawing more general conclusions on ‘Norse mythology' as a whole. Part 1 is divided into two chapters and deals with my approach, the nature of Germanic belief, and the sources available as well as techniques of interpretation for them, all relevant to the production of the arguments made in the thesis. Part 2 deals with Grímnismál itself: Chapter 1 provides an analysis of the manuscripts, Chapter 2 contains my editing notes and Chapter 3 analyses the contents of the poem, Chapter 4 consists of my conclusions to this study, focusing on the cosmology and the dating of the poem. Part 3 contains the edition of Grímnismál and is followed by Part 4 which is the commentary to the poem. The thesis is followed by two appendices, one containing a facing transcription of the manuscripts and the other being a glossary to all words used in Grímnismál. Finally, this thesis includes a digital edition worked on xml. This is available in the following link: https://starescomp.github.io/grimnismal/#idm140518410334752

"Vyhrazeno subskribentům" aneb Česká erotická literatura v období 30. let 20. století / "Reserved for subsribers" or Czech erotic literature in the 30th of the 20th century

SIMŮNKOVÁ, Aneta January 2016 (has links)
I focus the question of Czech erotic literature based on the surrealist tendencies of the 30s of the 20th century in my Thesis. I pay attention to the person of Jindřich Štyrský and closer look an artistic experiment in the form of Edice 69 and mainly on bibliophile Erotická revue 1 3. I proceed from the literary-historical knowledge, on the basis of which I map historical and artistic context, in which the work was produced, and life stage of Jindřich Štyrský between 1920 1934. The last part of my work I attempt to show the topics, which the erotic literature dealt with, and how could be combined the editorila work of Jindřich Štyrský šith surrealistic tendencies.

Salvador

Le marché du livre africain et ses dynamiques littéraires : le cas du Cameroun / African book market and its literary dynamics : the case of Cameroon

Thierry, Raphaël 13 November 2013 (has links)
Since the eighties, international industrial firms enter North publishing houses' capital. This was the beginning of what is called book globalization. That process raises a standardization fear of published material; it also involves the emergence of thoughts and projects concerning bibliodiversity. In that context, African book's market has been structured in different kind of networks with the goal of sustaining its diffusion/distribution. On the end of the nineties, scholar researches increase their interest for African literature production's background. Behind each book, we find institutions, economies, authors' strategies, which are important to take in account. In this present work, we will consider the relations between African literary productions and Global book's market. Secondly, our work will focus on Cameroonian book's market as an editorial system, and will question its participation to the economy of literature at national, regional and international scales.

Charreire, Magali 06 December 2013 (has links)
A novelist, writer, scholar and book-lover, Paul Lacroix, aka bibliophile Jacob (1806-1884), went through the nineteenth century as both a writer-journalist and a librarian at the Bibliothèque de l’Arsenal from 1855 on. Influenced by the deep changes affecting both historiography and literature, in which in actively participated and the obsessions of its times nurtured by the romantic movement, his abundant and multifaceted work tried to melt the historian’s and the novelist’s approaches, materialised by the mysterious, clever pen name, the token of his success in 1830. Under the July Monarchy, he undertook to take an inventory of the French historical past; his writings were submitted to the fluctuating possible modalities provided by the narrative as well as the economic imperatives resulting from the transformations of bookshops and libraries. Though his works did not try to set up a closed and coherent system, which was illustrated by the race for the ultimate roman-histoire, they questioned French people’s relationship with time, which was seriously undermined by the Revolution. The so-called « French Walter Scott » followed the taste for the Middle-Ages and wrote historical novels thatreminded one of the specialists of the Antiquity and contributed to founding a narrative of the origins based on a speculative approach of history. His historical narratives is pervaded with fictionalised cameos crystallising the colours, plots and pitfall of both medieval and modern times, separated by a porous border, thus questioning the consequences of the French Revolution. The two faces of those cameos paved the way for a rearrangement of historical time/events.

Analyse des voies de régulation de la cardiogenèse et de la différenciation cardiomyocytaire / Analysis of the cardiogenenis pathways and the cardiac differentiation

Jeziorowska, Dorota 13 December 2016 (has links)
The general objective of this work was centered on the use of human induced pluripotent cells in modeling and therapeutic evaluation of cardiac pathologies. Since their discovery in 2006, the iPSC provide an opportunity for the development of human cellular models and specific patients for the study of pathophysiological mechanisms, evaluation of pharmacological responses and the generation redifférenciées cells (cardiomyocytes here) for applications cellular therapeutic. In this work we demonstrated that the quantity but also the final quality of cardiomyocytes derived from iPSC depends on the spatial and pharmacological conditions used during the various stages of differentiation. The use of a monolayer differentiation protocol with simultaneous and transient blocking of all Wnt pathways (canonical and noncanonical) allows to obtain a higher maturation of the sarcomere, an essential step for modeling sarcomeropathies IPSC differentiation into cardiomyocytes can also be obtained by targeted molecular approach to specifically activate cardiogenic program. This is achieved through the use of a mutated Cas9 protein and coupled with transactivator system. This allows simultaneous targeting of 3 key cardiogenesis transcription factors (Gata4, MEF2C and Tbx5). This molecular approach is enhanced by the combination with a pharmacological stimulation targeting the Wnt pathway. Beyond modeling of monogenic cardiac disease, cardiomyocytes derived from iPSC can reproduce more complex and multigenic diseases

No. of bitstreams: 1 Jairo Paes Cavalcante Filho.pdf: 1337096 bytes, checksum: d44bd40f6780030093ef77d03b7343c9 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-09-10 / The classic Bible version by João Ferreira de Almeida is the most popular translation in the lusophone countries, even when the dynamic equivalence concept is the main driver in the production of new Bible translations. The original text, as produced by Almeida, never has been published, and so far no portion of his presumed manuscript version has been located. All of the first editions of Almeida s New Testament have been printed after a reviewing and approval by the Dutch Reformed Church authorities. This research develops a method to build a critical edition of the work of João Ferreira de Almeida, starting from what is known concerning Almeida s life and Bible translation history, his six first printed New Testaments and his Old Testament editions (XVIII century). Afterwards, the method is tested, producing a critical version of Matthew Gospel.

Simões, Renan Colombo January 2014 (has links)
Lendas Capixabas (2000) for solo guitar, by Brazilian composer Carlos Cruz (1936-2011), consists of three movements that represent legends from the state of Espírito Santo: Juparanã, O Frade e a Freira and Itabira. This work presents sometimes a non-idiomatic writing for the instrument, since Cruz did not play the guitar. In order to solve these passages and the inconsistencies of the only edition of this work, we aimed the development of a critical-interpretative edition of Lendas Capixabas, from the comparison between sources, the resolution of non-idiomatic passages and the fingering proposition. Moreover, to do this, we have identified the manuscripts in the composer's scores collection, conducted a bibliographical research on musical editions, interviewed performers who have performed the work, and collected other guitarists’ proposals in some excerpts of the work. As a result, we developed a critical-interpretative edition grounded on all the aforementioned parameters.

Anarquismo em papel e tinta: imprensa, ediÃÃo e cultura libertÃria (1945 - 1968) / Anarchism in paper and ink: press, edition and libertarian culture (1945-1968)

Allyson Bruno Viana 19 December 2014 (has links)
The thesis aims to investigate the presence of anarchism - its ideas and practices - in Brazil, between the end of the Estado Novo in 1945 and the enactment of the Institutional Act No. 5, in 1968. From a study of libertarians printed, especially press and books, we seek to scale their role as learning strategies and self-education interwoven into the broader project of disseminating libertarian culture. So the study falls within the field of book history, the printing and reading, where the central influence of analysis on the varied reading practices and their circulation, focusing on the experience of the anarchist movement in Brazil and discussing peculiarities of its reorganization after an dictatorship period as well as the attempting to public insertion in a moment of regaining formal political freedoms.

Gândavo e a Historia da Prouincia Sãcta Cruz a que vulgarmete chamamos Brasil: estudo do léxico e das marcas de autoria / Gândavo and the Historia da prouincia Sãcta Cruz a que vulgarmete chamamos Brazil: study of the lexicon and the authorship marks

Rejane Centurion Gambarra e Gomes 22 May 2015 (has links)
This thesis aims to present an interdisciplinary study of the work Historia da prouincia Sãcta Cruz a que vulgarmete chamamos Brazil, by Pero de Magalhães de Gândavo, published in 1576, and the manuscripts that came before it: Tractado da prouinçia do Brasil, Tractado da terra do Brasil and Historia da prouincia Sancta Cruz, a que vulgarmente chamamos Brasil. This work deals with various aspects of the new province: fauna, flora, captaincies, natural resources, inhabitants, among others, being selected for analytical sampling, the common chapters about the natives. Under the fundamentals of Philology, we studied the textual tradition, analyzed the dedications and edited semidiplomatically the selected parts. To discuss the textual tradition, we consulted, in addition to the specific bibliography, the versions taken as corpus, some editions of the versions and contacted libraries in Brazil (prince edition) and Europe (manuscript versions). Based on studies of the lexicon, we developed an index of frequency and occurrence of nouns employed in the selected parts and categorized seventy-one lexias in six lexical fields, in order to understand the process of naming the native implemented by the non-native. We inventoried the lexias using the textual statistical program \"Lexicon 3\"; and analyzed the semes of the lexias using Gândavos coeval and not coeval lexicographical works. Based on discourse analysis concepts, we analyzed the enunciative scene of the corpus and compared the use of lexias of one of the lexical fields in the four versions. Among the results achieved, we include the following: there was a lexical diversity on the treatment of the native; the lexical fields indicated the construction of natives mischaracterizing images; the enunciator presents his text as History, but \"shows\" the scenographies as treaties and oral narration of stories; the nomination process is not restricted to linguistic, but also to discursive scope; the dedications and the frequency of lexias in lexical field could indicate authorship marks.
