Previous issue date: 2012-03-09 / The dissertation elaborates reflexive considerations about choir singing as a cultural social practice in Brazilian Protestantism. The text directs its attention towards choir singing and its idiosyncrasies using the bases of Pierre Bourdieu's sociology and its application to sociological discussions on taste as a social reality defined by tensions created in the cultural milieu to which the concepts field, habitus and capital apply. Choir singing as a cultural practice is presented and a historic is traced since its origins until actual days. Focus falls upon uses of choir singing for the most different varieties of Protestantism in order to track the aspects that revealed themselves preponderant when this cultural practice arrived in Brazil and also to understand facts and characters that made Brazilian evangelical choir singing take the historical routes that brought it to occupy a place of high cultural value in Brazilian protestant culture. Later, commotions to the choir singing caused by social changes that deeply re-characterized musical taste in the Protestantism of that country are verified. The discussion follows to an analysis of the fights that those new configurations are establishing inside religious field and to the expressions of these battles in a market of symbolic goods that comprehends and orients them. With the goal of determine the subjects involved, the main adversaries of choir singing in Brazilian evangelic field are presented and, finally, three projects that, in the last decades, have reached impact in the protestant midst as defenders of choir singing are delineated. / A dissertação elabora considerações reflexivas a respeito do canto coral como prática cultural social no protestantismo brasileiro. O texto direciona sua atenção para o canto coral e suas idiossincrasias a partir das bases da sociologia de Pierre Bourdieu e de sua aplicação às discussões sociológicas sobre o gosto como realidade social definida por tensões criadas no meio cultural, as quais se aplicam os conceitos de campo, habitus e capital. A prática cultural do canto coral é apresentada e um histórico é traçado desde suas origens até os dias atuais. O foco recai sobre os usos do canto coral pelas mais diferentes vertentes do protestantismo a fim de acompanhar os aspectos que se mostraram preponderantes quando da chegada dessa prática cultural ao Brasil e compreender fatos e personagens que fizeram com que o canto coral evangélico brasileiro tomasse os rumos históricos que o levaram a ocupar um posto de alto valor cultural dentro da cultura protestante no Brasil. Posteriormente, verificam-se os abalos ao canto coral causados por mudanças sociais que recaracterizaram profundamente o gosto musical no protestantismo pátrio. A discussão se encaminha para a análise das lutas que essas novas configurações estão estabelecendo dentro do campo religioso e às expressões dessas batalhas dentro de um mercado de bens simbólicos que as comporta e orienta. Visando determinar os sujeitos envolvidos, são apresentados os principais adversários do canto coral no campo evangélico brasileiro e, por fim, são delineados três projetos que, nas últimas décadas, têm alcançado impacto dentro do meio protestante como defensores do canto coral.

Previous issue date: 2016-08-22 / This master’s thesis, developed in the Graduate Program in Education of FE/UFG, in the Line of
Research “Education, work and social movements”, aimed at comprehending, guided by gender
studies, how girls deal with poor school performance. We based on the Theory of Practice by
Pierre Bourdieu as the theoretical and methodological background to develop a qualitative
research. The participants of this research were children with ages ranging from 9 to 10 from two
public schools in Goiânia. There were also 240 hours of observation divided among classrooms,
interactions between children in the patio and between teachers in the teacher’s room, meetings
with families, and student performance evaluation meetings. We carried out semi-structured
interviews with teachers and students. The results showed the devaluation of a specific type of
femininity, the one that is affirmed in the excess of female vanity, and, according to some children,
would be the worthy part of being a girl. Few girls strongly confronted the rules imposed by the
school, being the indifference the most recurring way of resistance. The symbolic violence
performed by one of the schools on female bodies was also an important aspect to be considered
when dealing with this theme. / Esta dissertação, desenvolvida no Programa de Pós Graduação em Educação da FE/UFG, na Linha
de Pesquisa "Educação, trabalho e movimentos sociais", resulta de pesquisa que, ancorada nos
pressupostos dos estudos de gênero, teve como objetivo compreender como as meninas lidam com
o mau desempenho escolar. Partindo da teoria da prática de Pierre Bourdieu como referencial
teórico-metodológico, a pesquisa, de natureza qualitativa, abrangeu crianças com idades entre 9 e
10 anos de duas escolas públicas do município de Goiânia. A coleta de dados contou com cerca de 240 horas de observação divididas entre sala de aula, interação entre as crianças no pátio,
acompanhamento da sala de professores/as, reuniões com as famílias e conselhos de classe. Foram
realizadas ainda entrevistas semi-estruturadas com docentes e crianças. A realização da pesquisa
apontou, como resultados: a desvalorização de um tipo específico de feminilidade, aquela que se
afirma por meio da vaidade considerada excessiva e que, segundo algumas crianças, seria o que
faria “valer a pena” ser menina; poucas meninas enfrentaram ostensivamente as regras impostas
pelas escolas, sendo a oposição por meio da indiferença o modo mais recorrente de resistência; a
violência simbólica da intervenção de uma das escolas sobre os corpos femininos.

Previous issue date: 2016-05-24 / Pierre Bourdieu desenvolveu uma teoria consistente que propicia uma rica análise das questões educacionais sob uma perspectiva sociológica. O autor aponta principalmente para a desigualdade de oportunidades no sistema escolar em função do pertencimento a classes sociais, revelando a escola como um espaço de legitimação das desigualdades sociais em desigualdades escolares. Nesse sentido, o objetivo central deste trabalho consiste em mapear as apropriações e contribuições da teoria de Bourdieu na área de Educação em Ciências, fornecendo um quadro quantitativo, qualitativo e crítico dessa inserção. Como percurso metodológico utilizamos a pesquisa bibliográfica, por meio da qual investigamos a inserção da perspectiva bourdiana nas principais publicações da área de Educação em Ciências (evento, periódicos, dissertações e teses). O aporte teórico para análise dos trabalhos se constituiu no próprio referencial teórico de Bourdieu. No total consultamos 8478 trabalhos publicados no ENPEC (4797), em revistas (3194), além de dissertações e teses (487). Desse total, 160 compuseram o corpus da pesquisa, que foi classificado em três categorias: Menção incidental (69); Mobilização conceitual tópica (47); Apropriação do modo de trabalho (44). Aprofundamos o estudo da categoria Apropriação do modo de trabalho, a qual foi subdivida em três linhas temáticas: Sociologia da Ciência (12); Desempenho escolar/acadêmico e determinantes sociais (14); e Formação de Professores de Ciências (18). Os resultados, de modo geral, mostram que a apropriação do sociólogo ainda é tímida na área. Contudo, o conjunto analisado nos permite reconhecer suas contribuições para a área em relação às linhas de temáticas: a Sociologia da Ciência consegue, por meio do conceito de campo, avançar ao compreender a relação do microcosmo científico com o macrocosmo social, em que questões políticas, curriculares e institucionais podem ser mais bem compreendidas, fundamentando ações dos agentes no campo. A segunda linha aponta que o desempenho escolar e a aprendizagem de conceitos são fortemente influenciados pelo patrimônio dos agentes herdado da família quanto a aprendizagens específicas, hábitos e interesses. Deve, assim, ser objeto de análise do professor, visando minimizar as desigualdades escolares associadas às desigualdades sociais. A linha Formação de Professores de Ciências utiliza a noção de habitus para compreender a relação do social com o individual nos processos de formação, sendo possível planejar ações formativas com base nessa perspectiva teórica. / Pierre Bourdieu developed a consistent theory that provides a rich analysis of the educational issues from a sociological perspective. The author notes mainly to inequality of opportunity of the educational system due to the social classes belongingness, revealing the school as a legitimization space of the social inequalities in educational inequalities. Therefore, the central objective of this work is to map the appropriations and contributions of Bourdieu's theory in the area of Science Education, providing a quantitative, qualitative and critical picture of this insertion. As methodological approach we used the literature review, through which we investigate the insertion of Bourdieu's perspective on the main publications in Science Education area (event, journals dissertations and thesis). The theoretical background for analysis of the works was constituted by the theoretical framework of Bourdieu. It was totalized 8478 works consulted, including ENPEC (4797), journals (3194), dissertations and thesis (487). 160 of these documents constituted the research corpus, which was classified into three categories: Incidental mention (69); Topic conceptual mobilization (47); Appropriation of work mode (44). We investigated especially the category of Appropriation of work mode, which was subdivided into three thematic lines: Sociology of Science (12); Scholar performance and Social Determinants (14); and Science Teacher Formation (18). The results generally show that the appropriation of the sociologist is still shy on the area. However, the set analyzed allows us to recognize his contributions to the area in respect to the thematic lines: the sociology of science can, through the concept of field, advance to understand the relationship of the scientific microcosm with the social macrocosm, in which political issues, curriculum and institutional matters may be better understood, basing agent’s actions on the field. The second line indicates that the school performance and the learning of concepts are strongly influenced by the patrimony inherited from the family of the agents for specific learning, habits and interests. It should therefore be an object of teacher analysis to minimize school inequalities associated with social inequalities. The line of Science Teacher Formation uses the notion of habitus to understand the relationship of the social with the individual in the formation process, enabling the planning of the formation actions based on this theoretical perspective.

Previous issue date: 2016-09-14 / Esta pesquisa visa, num diálogo interdisciplinar entre Literatura, Sociologia e Jornalismo, analisar de que maneira, por meio de sua produção cronística, Nelson Rodrigues conseguiu inscrever e legitimar essa parte de sua obra no campo literário utilizando-se do capital simbólico, das estratégias e técnicas do campo jornalístico. O corpus de análise reúne 242 crônicas de memória e confissão, produzidas entre 1967 e 1974, e reunidas nos livros O óbvio ululante (1993), O reacionário (1995) e A cabra vadia (2001). Todas foram publicadas originalmente nas colunas que Nelson Rodrigues mantinha na Imprensa, principalmente em O Globo. Divididos em quatro eixos temáticos dominantes – política, comportamento, cultura e jornalismo – os textos remontam a um momento importante da história do Brasil, que sofria com um processo tardio de modernidade e com um recrudescimento da cena política, a partir da ditadura militar. Por meio de conceitos operatórios desenvolvidos pelo sociólogo francês Pierre Bourdieu, como Campo, Habitus, Capital e Poder Simbólico, e das teorias de produção e difusão da notícia, procuramos mostrar como Nelson Rodrigues efetuou com maestria o movimento descrito pela curva de Möbius, onde é possível estar dentro e fora do jornalismo e da literatura ao mesmo tempo, onde as fronteiras são esmaecidas, mas permanecem. / Within an interdisciplinary dialogue among Literature, Sociology and Journalism, this research aims at analyzing how Nelson Rodrigues managed to insert and legitimize his chronicle production in the literary field using symbolic capital besides strategies and techniques from the journalistic field. The analysis corpus gathers 242 chronicles of memory and confession, written from 1967 to 1974 and collected in the books O óbvio ululante [The screaming obvious] (1993) O reacionário [The reactionary] (1995) and A cabra vadia [The tramp goat] (2001). All chronicles were originally published in the columns that Nelson Rodrigues kept in newspapers, especially in O Globo. Divided into four main themes – politics, behavior, culture and journalism – the texts date back to an important moment in the history of Brazil that suffered with a late modernity process and an increasing importance of the political scene with the military dictatorship. Through operational concepts developed by the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, as Field, Habitus, Capital and Symbolic Power, and production and news diffusion theories, we intend to show how Nelson Rodrigues made masterly the movement described by Möbius strip where it is possible to be in and out of journalism and literature at the same time, where the borders are blurred but remaining.

Ce travail se propose de revenir sur l'intervention de Louis Althusser dans le champ de la théorisation sociale et politique. Il a été motivé par la conviction qu'aujourd'hui Althusser, bien que chronologiquement proche de nous, est oublié, voire refoulé : ainsi, son objectif aura été à la fois de restituer, par l'examen des sources publiées (aussi bien du vivant de l'auteur qu'après sa mort) et de documents inédits du fonds de l'IMEC, la théorie ou l'esquisse de théorisation althussérienne de l'État et de mesurer un « effet-Althusser » sur la conjoncture philosophique française des années 1970 et suivantes (auprès de ses collaborateurs fidèles, comme Balibar, et dans une moindre mesure, Poulantzas, ou infidèles, comme Rancière ou Badiou, aussi bien qu'auprès de ses ennemis « intimes » Foucault et Bourdieu). Le résultat de cette enquête sur la théorisation althussérienne de la politique et de l'État a révélé une tension insurmontable en son sein : la politique y est écartelée entre deux modes d'existence distincts et, à la limite, incompatibles, entre, d'un côté, la thèse d'une régulation continue de la conflictualité sociale par l'État, et d'un autre côté, la thèse d'une alternative radicale incarnée par un hypothétique, nécessaire et improbable « parti hors-État ». / The dissertation is a study of Althusser's contribution to social and political theory. Indeed, although chronologically close to us, Althusser is often forgotten, if not repressed. By examining published sources (including Althusser's posthumous works) and unpublished documents from the IMEC library, this study tries to re-establish the Althusserian theory of the state - or the basic premises of a theory -, and to assess a possible "Althusser-effect" on French philosophy from the 1970s on, in the works of his faithful disciples such as Balibar, and, to a certain extent, Poulantzas, and unfaithful ones like Rancière or Badiou, as well as in the philosophical output of his most "intimate" enemies, Foucault and Bourdieu). There appears to be an insuperable tension at the core of the Althusserian theory of Politics and State. His view on politics is tom between two separate - if not incompatible - modes of existence; on the one hand, the idea of a continuous regulation of social conflict by the State, and on the other hand, the idea of a radical alternative epitomized by a hypothetical, necessary and improbable "out-of-the-State Party".

O futebol americano é uma modalidade esportiva recente no Brasil. É regulado e sistematizado pela Confederação Brasileira de Futebol Americano (CBFA). O contexto do futebol americano no estado de São Paulo (SP) durante o período entre 2012 e 2015 foi pautado em uma disputa de poder pelo direito de organização da modalidade. O órgão associado à CBFA era a Liga Paulista de Futebol Americano (LPFA), porém, no ano de 2012, equipes descontentes com a gestão desta instituição romperam relações com a mesma e criaram a Federação de Futebol Americano do Estado de São Paulo (FEFASP). Reforçando a disputa por poder e capital simbólico dentro deste subcampo, principalmente no relacionamento entidade-equipes que se manteve até o início de 2015, quando foi anunciada a vinculação das equipes advindas da LPFA junto à FEFASP, resultando no fim da primeira. Deste modo, emergiram as seguintes questões: Como se organiza atualmente o futebol americano no estado de São Paulo pós-vinculação? Como se deu o processo de filiação das equipes da LPFA junto à FEFASP? Como se dão as ações dos sujeitos em relação à busca por poder e legitimidade social na organização do futebol americano no estado? Quais são os objetivos das equipes e entidades organizadoras da modalidade? Devido à recente inserção do futebol americano no país, à escassez de pesquisas e informações acadêmicas na área e a participação decisiva e protagonista de gestores de equipes em tais processos de divisão e vinculação de instituições reguladoras, o objetivo deste projeto de pesquisa foi investigar e delimitar o processo de organização das estruturas de poder estabelecidas nesta modalidade esportiva no estado de SP a partir de 2015, sob o ponto de vista de dirigentes de equipes. Este trabalho utilizou como referencial teórico para discussão e análise de seu objeto de pesquisa, categorias sociológicas da obra de Pierre Bourdieu. Através da análise de respostas provenientes de seis entrevistas semiestruturadas iniciais, os dados foram organizados e analisados por meio da Análise Temática, de forma que emergiram três grandes temas: a) Início, com os motivos que contribuíram para a vinculação, b) Processo, atuação dos agentes e acordos que resultaram na vinculação e c) Desdobramentos, com as consequências advindas do processo de vinculação, como novas disputas dentro do subcampo, como a disputa entre equipes da capital e do interior, com habitus fundamentados na localização geográfica dos dirigentes de acordo com suas equipes. É possível verificar que as categorias analíticas propostas por Bourdieu auxiliam no desvendar das relações existentes no espaço investigado. Esse trabalho se propôs a investigar um recorte específico do futebol americano no estado de SP, que possibilitou compreender como a vinculação se desenvolveu e o que alterou no subcampo a partir dela. A partir desse trabalho, pôde-se verificar a existência de algumas doxas do campo esportivo brasileiro, como a necessidade da organização burocrática estar relacionada com uma estrutura confederativa. / American football is a recent sport in Brazil. It is regulated and systematized by the Brazilian Confederation of American Football (CBFA). The context of American football in the state of São Paulo (SP) during the period between 2012 and 2015 was based on a power dispute for the right to organize the sport. The body associated with the CBFA was the Paulista League of American Football (LPFA), but in 2012, teams dissatisfied with the management of this institution broke relations with the same and created the Federation of American Football of the State of São Paulo (FEFASP) . Reinforcing the dispute for power and symbolic capital within this subfield, mainly in the entity-team relationship that remained until the beginning of 2015, when it was announced the linkage of the teams from LPFA to FEFASP, resulting in the end of the first. In this way, the following questions emerged: How is football organized in the state of São Paulo? How did the process of affiliation of the LPFA teams with FEFASP take place? How do the subjects\' actions regarding the search for power and social legitimacy in the organization of American football in the state? What are the objectives of the teams and entities that organize the sport? Due to the recent insertion of American football in the country, the lack of research and academic information in the area and the decisive participation and protagonist of team managers in such processes of division and linkage of regulatory institutions, the objective of this research project was to investigate and delimit the process of organizing the power structures established in this sports modality in the state of SP from 2015, from the point of view of team leaders. This work used as theoretical reference for discussion and analysis of its object of research, sociological categories of the work of Pierre Bourdieu. Through the analysis of responses from six initial semi-structured interviews, the data were organized and analyzed through the Thematic Analysis, so that three main themes emerged: a) Beginning, with the reasons that contributed to the linkage, b) Process, performance of the agents and agreements that resulted in the linkage; and c) Developments, with the consequences arising from the linking process, as new disputes within the subfield, such as the dispute between teams of the capital and the interior, with habitus based on the geographical location of the leaders according to their teams. It is possible to verify that the analytical categories proposed by Bourdieu help to unravel the existing relations in the space investigated. This work aimed to investigate a specific cut of American football in the state of SP, which made it possible to understand how the linkage developed and what altered in the subfield from it. From this work, it was possible to verify the existence of some doxas of the Brazilian sports field, as the necessity of the bureaucratic organization to be related to a confederative structure.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyse how three books can be seen as a modern form of the Swedish working class literature tradition. The works are Linjen by Elise Karlsson, Tjänster i hemmet by Marie Hållander, and Cykelbudet by Anders Teglund. The first two books are fictional accounts of the precarious working conditions in contemporary Sweden, and the last book is a hybrid between novel and non-fiction. This thesis utilizies Marxist alienation theory, Bourdieu’s theory of capital and Guy Standing’s theory of the precariat. Furthermore, I relate the material to different defintions of working class literature. By analyzing the material with these theoretical concepts I establish that alienation is a common theme, that Bourdieu’s theory can explain the complex class positions of the main characters, and that all books depict precarious labor. The results show that the three books can be labeled as a modern form of working class literature, even though they differ from earlier forms of this tradition.

[pt] A presente dissertação investiga o papel das companhias de segurança cibernética na produção da segurança cibernética contemporânea. A crescente pressão para securitizar o ciberespaço contribuiu para o crescimento de um lucrativo mercado voltado para a provisão de produtos e serviços para clientes comerciais e governamentais. Utilizando uma perspectiva inspirada em Bourdieu, o trabalho: analisa as condições históricas nas quais as tecnologias da informação ganharam terreno no debate de segurança; identifica as posições e investiga as práticas das companhias de segurança cibernética no campo da segurança cibernética e analisa as disputas em andamento pela produção da segurança cibernética. Abordagens voltadas ao risco são pilares na concepção e comercialização de produtos e serviços anunciados pelas companhias. Neste sentido, argumenta-se que ambas as abordagens voltadas ao risco e as práticas comerciais das companhias de segurança cibernética produzem formas específicas de segurança. O trabalho identifica três distintas formas de segurança produzidas no campo: segurança defensiva, segurança ofensiva e defesa ativa. Analisa-se as implicações de cada forma para a segurança, de um modo geral, e argumenta-se que, enquanto grande parte das companhias adota uma estratégia de defesa ativa em seus produtos e serviços, algumas tem se orientado para a adoção de medidas mais ofensivas para lidar com os atuais riscos. A análise é concluída com algumas reflexões a respeito das implicações das atuais dinâmicas do mercado de segurança cibernética para a segurança e governança da Internet. / [en] This dissertation examines the role of cyber security companies in the production of contemporary cyber security. The increasing pressures to securitize cyberspace have contributed to the growth of a lucrative market oriented at providing cyber security products and services to commercial and government customers. Using a Bourdieu-inspired framework, the work: analyzes the historical conditions under which information technologies gained ground within security debates; identifies the positions and investigates the practices of cyber security companies within the cyber security field and analyzes the ongoing struggles for the production of cyber security. Risk-based thinking is a cornerstone of the process of conceiving and commercializing products and services advertised by companies. In this sense, it is argued that both risk-based thinking and the commercial practices of cyber security companies produce specific forms of security. The work identifies three distinct forms of security produced within the field: defensive security, offensive security and active defense. It analyzes the implications of each form to the overall security of cyberspace and argues that whilst the majority of companies adopt an active defense approach in their products and services, some of them are leaning towards more offensive solutions to deal with current risks. It concludes the analysis with some thoughts on the implications of the current dynamics of the cyber security market for security and Internet governance.

La stigmatisation des aidants familiaux de personnes atteintes par la maladie d’AlzheimerCôté, Vincent 12 1900 (has links)
Le vieillissement de la population entraîne une hausse des maladies chroniques telle que la maladie d’Alzheimer dans nos sociétés occidentales. L’enjeu du vieillissement se répercute aussi dans les réformes de nos politiques sociales, et plus généralement dans la gestion des services publics. Dans ce contexte, le régime de santé publique québécois connaît diverses modifications concernant la prestation de soins de première ligne. De nouveaux acteurs acquièrent des rôles et des responsabilités définissant des enjeux particuliers. Nous étudierons l’un de ces enjeux.
Ce mémoire vise à spécifier les processus sociaux à la base de l’isolement des aidants familiaux de personnes atteintes par la maladie d’Alzheimer. La stigmatisation des aidants et les microprocessus afférents sont les principaux mécanismes analysés. Les données sont extraites d’entrevues semi-structurées réalisées avec une cohorte d’aidants familiaux (N=60) suivie longitudinalement depuis le début de leur trajectoire de soins. Une démarche qualitative soutient ce projet. Nous avons analysé un échantillon de douze participants au moyen d’une approche séquentielle. Trois processus typiques ont été identifiés : le stigma de forme en ruptures (séparation sociale), le stigma de forme transitoire (stigma transitoire) et le stigma de forme anomique (anomie sociale). Les résultats suggèrent que les réseaux sociaux des aidants sont soumis à un ensemble de conditions favorisant la structuration du stigma social, la principale condition étant un enjeu de pouvoir concernant le contrôle de la personne malade. Les aidants conjoints de personnes atteintes sont plus enclins à la stigmatisation en début de trajectoire. / Aging populations in western societies contribute to the raise of chronic illnesses such as Alzheimer disease. The issue of aging also echoes in recent political reforms and more generally in the way we manage public services. In this context, Quebec’s public health regime has known diverse modifications concerning “first line caregiving” (soins de première ligne). New actors of the public system have acquired roles and responsibilities defining particular issues. We address one of these issues.
This research aims at specifying the social processes inherent to the isolation of family caregivers helping a relative suffering from Alzheimer disease. The stigmatization process and related microprocesses are the principal mechanisms analysed. The data derives from in-depth, semi-structured interviews, realised with a cohort of sixty family caregivers followed longitudinally since the beginning of their care trajectories. A qualitative scheme bears out our investigation. We have analysed a sample of twelve participants using a sequential approach. Three typical processes were identified: social separation, transitory stigma and social anomia. Results suggest that the caregivers’ support networks are subjected to a setting of conditions structuring social stigma, the recurrent condition being an issue of power implying the social control of the ill relative. Caregivers who also are the spouses of the ill relative are the most inclined to stigmatization in early trajectory.

Viktiga frågor konstrueras på olika sätt, inom fiktion, utefter producentens uppfattningar om världen. Genom att undersöka maktrelationerna kan man ta reda på vilken betydelse makt har i viktiga frågor som hat, ras, klass. Syftet med studien har varit att undersöka och analysera hur maktrelationer opererar i den populärkulturella tv-serien Orange Is the New Black. För att utföra studien analyserades ett avsnitt, det sjunde ur säsong 4, som släpptes i juni år 2016. De frågeställningar som ställdes till materialet var: Hur konstrueras maktrelationer inom fältet Orange Is the New Black?”, ”I vilka situationer är dessa maktrelationer tydliga?”, samt ”Är dessa situationer positiva/negativa och i sådana fall på vilka sätt?”. Dessa frågeställningar utformades för att ge en helhetsbild av maktrelationerna inom avsnittet. För att utföra studien tillämpades Pierre Bourdieus klassperspektiv, där begreppen fält, habitus och kapital användes. I uppsatsen diskuterades även Marx definition av begreppet klass, då klass-begreppet är mest associerat till honom. Även Goffmans teori angående stigma användes för att kunna gå in med en förståelse av vad de utsatta kan ha för attribut som kan påverka hur andra ser på dem. För att utföra studien tillämpades även Bourdieus metodologi. Analysen visade att maktrelationer konstrueras på olika sätt. Genom att producenten skapar situationer där karaktärerna tävlar om makt och kapital får tittaren se vilken betydelse makt har inom viktiga frågor. Kamper om makt och kapital visades på flera olika sätt. Slutsatsen som drogs var att maktrelationer konstrueras på flera olika sätt, att dessa händelser och situationer inte enbart är negativa, utan även positiva och hur situationerna konstrueras kan påverka människors tankar då det är en populärkulturell serie som når ut till en massa. / Important subjects in fictional tv-series are being constructed in different ways, depending on the producers view on the world. By examining power relationships you can find out what role power plays within subjects like hate, race and class. The purpose of this study was to analyze how power relationships operate on the popular cultural tv-show Orange Is the New Black. The seventh episode of season 4 was analyzed, which aired in June 2016. The questions that were asked to the material were: ”How are power relationships constructed within the field of Orange Is the New Black?”, ”In what situations are these power relationships clear?”, and ”Are these situations positive/negative, and if so, in which way?”. These questions were asked to get the whole picture of the power relationships within the episode. In this study the theory of class by Pierre Bourdieu was used, where the concept of field, capital and habitus took a lot of space. Marx definition of class was also discussed in the study, because class is mostly associated with him. Another theory that was discussed was Erving Goffman’s theory about stigma. The purpose of using this theory was to understand what attributes a prisoner can have that could affect how other people view them. In this study, the methodology of Bourdieu was used. The analysis showed that power relationships are being constructed in different ways. When the producer creates situations where the characters are fighting about power and capital, the viewer is able to see how power is operating within important questions. Fights about capital and power were shown in different ways. The conclusion that was made is that power relationships are being constructed in different ways, that these situations are both positive and negative and that they can affect peoples mind due to being a popular cultural tv-show that is seen by many.
