ALE e PLE e cruzamento cultural Brasil- Alemanha. / [en] This research starts from the assumption that intercultural communication
will be more effective if we have in mind the cultural differences, or in other
words, the differences in perception that can occur in this communication. We
emphasize, therefore, that the objective of this study is the comparative analysis of
the perception of multimodal texts, more specifically, printed advertisements in
Brazil and Germany. That means the study of how Brazilian learners of GFL
(German as a Foreign Language) and German learners of PFL (Portuguese as a
Foreign Language) interpret these advertisements. This analysis pays attention to
the intercultural dimension involved in this activity, highlighting the importance
of this dimension to the process of teaching / learning foreign languages / cultures.
The data were collected through semi-structured interviews with learners in
language schools in Brazil and Germany, and were analyzed based on concepts
developed primarily in the areas of Sociolinguistics, Cross-Cultural Studies and
Social Anthropology. The data analysis aims to identify not only the cultural
aspects more directly related to linguistic usages (use of personal pronouns and
forms of address, for example), but also the more subjective cultural aspects (like
the perception of emotional states, the view of work, among others). The results
show a rich and potential material for research, study or consultation for
everybody who is interested mainly in the area of teaching and learning GFL and
PFL and of cross-cultural studies Brazil-Germany.

[en] PEDAGOGICAL STRATEGIES IN TEACHING DESIGN: FOR AN ACTIVE METHODOLOGY / [pt] ESTRATÉGIAS PEDAGÓGICAS NO ENSINO DE DESIGN: POR UMA METODOLOGIA ATIVAANDRE LUIS FERREIRA BELTRAO 19 May 2017 (has links)
[en] This dissertation aims to analyze pedagogical practices in Graphic Design teaching based on active methodologies. The research mapped out such methodologies, which were originally designed for application in areas of knowledge related to exact subjects. Starting from the articulation of AM and pedagogical practices
for the teaching of Design, exercises and dynamics related to the methodologies in question were structured, proposed and experienced in the classroom. An action-study field study was carried out in a projectual Design discipline over three semesters, and in the last semester a class diary was written, besides interviews with
Design teachers on purpose to know their pedagogical practices. Student interviews were recorded and analyzed in light of Fink s (2007) taxonomy of significant learning. The results were recorded, classified and documented, and an instrument of analysis of the reported pedagogical practices was created, whose consolidated interpretation, in the final chapter, resulted in the proposals and reflections about the pedagogical strategies that were sought to achieve.

[en] INTERACTION AND PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICE AS MEDIATORS OF VOCABULARY LEARNING IN CLASSES OF ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE / [pt] A INTERAÇÃO E AS ATIVIDADES PEDAGÓGICAS COMO MEDIADORES NA APRENDIZAGEM DE VOCABULÁRIO EM AULAS DE INGLÊS COMO SEGUNDA LÍNGUAPAULA SILVEIRA GARDEL 15 May 2006 (has links)
Meu
objetivo é entender a
vocabulário do material
apoio). Dentre outros
achados, a análise indicou que alunos e professores
recorrem com freqüência a
práticas conversacionais como a conversa instrucional, o
andaimento e a
proposta do livro.
No entanto,
as atividades de
vocabulário cuja proposta é o uso em contextos múltiplos
estão restritas à
apresentações orais e encenações, o que restringe o uso
espontâneo do
vocabulário aprendido. / [en] This dissertation investigates the process of learning
vocabulary in a
second language in a classroom environment. Its objective
is to understand the
relationship between the classroom interaction and the
vocabulary activities found
in the textbook, as well as how these mediators affect the
construction of lexical
knowledge. To achieve this, two classes of basic English
formed by 12 and 13
year-old students have been analysed. The data include the
printed exercises of
vocabulary used in class (textbook and other supporting
material), field
observation, video-tapes and transcription of
interactions. Among other results,
the analyses have indicated that students and teachers
often use conversational
strategies, like instructional conversation, scaffolding
and individual contribution,
to construct meaning. However, these strategies usually
happen when there is a
break in the activity suggested by the book. They have
also shown that the
textbook creates a semantic map for students and teachers,
providing the
vocabulary and opportunities to review it. Generally, the
vocabulary activities in
the textbook cover all the aspects and levels of knowledge
of words, but the
activities of generative use seem to be restricted to oral
presentations and
roleplays, which implies non-spontaneous use of the
learned vocabulary.

[en] FROM A LITTLE CHILD TO A STUDENT: SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION IN THE TRANSITION FROM EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL / [pt] DE CRIANÇAS A ALUNOS: TRANSFORMAÇÕES SOCIAIS NA PASSAGEM DA EDUCAÇÃO INFANTIL PARA O ENSINO FUNDAMENTALFLAVIA MILLER NAETHE MOTTA 02 June 2010 (has links)
A pesquisa
[en] The theme of this thesis deals with the transition of children from early
Childhood Education to Elementary School and with the action of school culture
over children s cultures, transforming children as social agents into students as
social agents. The research was carried out in a unit of the government
(municipal) schools in the city of Três Rios, Rio de Janeiro. The theoreticmethodological
fundaments have been created through dialogues with the
concepts elaborated especially by Bakhtin, Vigotski, Foucault, Certeau and
Sacristán. Each one of these authors contributed in a specific way for the analysis
of the questions raised here . The concepts have operated on three plans: on one
side we had the conception of language of Bakhtin, which is the main category of
analysis of the field data, and Vigotski supplying subsidies for a dialectical
thinking about school culture and children`s cultures taken as texts. On another
level, we considered Foucault and Certeau`s analysis of power strategies and
tactics of resistance found in the practices observed and their influence on the
subjectivation of the subjects. Finally, the sociology of childhood and the concept
of school culture allowed clarifying elements of the field by placing them in
context. To address the transition and the disruptions perceived in this process, the
major contributions were set from Moss, Corsaro and Molinari.

[en] SCIENCE TEACHING AND CULTURAL PLURALITY: SCIENCE TEACHERS AND MULTICULTURAL ISSUES INSIDE THE CURRICULUM / [pt] ENSINO DE CIÊNCIAS E PLURALIDADE CULTURAL: PROFESSORES DE CIÊNCIA E TEMÁTICAS MULTICULTURAIS NO CURRÍCULOANNA CAROLINA AYRES PEREIRA BARBOSA 02 June 2010 (has links)
[en] As we face a period characterized by a paradigmatic transition between
Modernity and Post-Modernity, how would the science conceptions of
science/biology teachers fit in this scenery? What would be their positions
regarding the curricular reformation set in the 90`s after the publication of the
PCN of Natural Sciences and transversal themes? How the main multicultural
themes race, gender and sexual orientation are presented inside their speech? This
work presents a research which has seek to comprehend how the science and
biology teachers from an elite school at Rio de Janeiro represent scientific
knowledge, science curriculum and their possible implications concerning the
main multicultural issues (race, gender and sexual orientation). Therefore, it has
been chosen a qualitative research using two instruments: (1) documental analyses
of the Natural Sciences PCN and transversal themes and (2) semi-structural
interviews. It was evident a tendency among the teachers discourses to oscillate
between a more traditional and modern science view and a more post-modern
approach. This kind of posture that was also identified regarding the multicultural
issues would be in agreement with both the curricular proposals inside the PCNs
and as a reflection of the transitional period in which we are immersed. This work
aims to contribute with the debate regarding possible progress and limits of a
multicultural (post-modern) epistemology inside science teaching.

[en] EDUCATIONAL PUBLIC POLICIES OF THE MUNICIPALITIES IN THE STATE OF RIO DE JANEIRO: RELATIONS TO THE QUALITY INDICATORS OF 2005 AND 2007 / [pt] POLÍTICAS PÚBLICAS EDUCACIONAIS DOS MUNICÍPIOS DO ESTADO DO RJ: RELAÇÕES COM OS INDICADORES DE QUALIDADE 2005 E 2007ADAILDA GOMES DE OLIVEIRA 01 October 2010 (has links)
brasileira.
Inicialmente,
colocadas. / [en] The improvement of quality in education has been discussed for a long time
in the educational political scene. The specialized literature has discussed the
obstacles for the progress in this area, and the governments have implemented as
well a range of educational policies in order to offer conditions and possibilities to
give the students equal opportunities in accessing good educational levels. Thus a
great challenge to the researchers is to understand the relations between the
educational policies and the educational index, and to discover how these policies
can contribute to the improvement of quality in Brazilian education. According to
this perspective, this study investigates the relation between the educational
policies and the quality indicators of the Elementary School in the municipalities
of Rio de Janeiro, from 2005 to 2007. At first, the study introduces the sociodemographic
description of the cities, considering three social indicators -
Municipal Human Development Index (M-HDI), Child Development Index
(CDI), and Gini Coefficient -, which allow the contextualization and
comprehension on the quality of the given education. In addition to it, this study
evaluates the evolution of three indicators - approval rating, school performance,
and Brazilian Education Quality Index (IDEB) - in the public schools in Rio de
Janeiro state. After that, it presents a mapping about the education in the cities in
Rio de Janeiro considering the Articulated Actions Plan (PAR) and focusing on
the municipal necessities in different educational areas. Finally, by the use of
multivariate analysis and linear regression, the study evaluates how the
differences in the performance ratings achieved in Mathematics considering the
fifth grade of the Elementary School can be explained according to the
educational policies applied in the cities. The results of this study indicate a
sensitive and systematic improvement in the educational indexes which were
analyzed. They also show that the policies related to the application of
FUNDEB’s resources, to teachers professional development, and to the schools
spaces physical conditions affect the students performances. In this way,
formulations of educational policies based on empirical evidences are discussed.

no Brasil.
[en] The object of this study is the experience of the ancient Marambaia School,
which existed from 1939 until 1970, at Marambaia Island, in Mangaratiba, Rio de
Janeiro. The school was founded in order to provide fishing professional education to
the children of the traditional fishermen who lived in the island and also in different
regions of the Brazilian coast. We consider that the school was very important to that
community, and that it was a singular experience of industrial education in Brazil. Our
purpose is to understand the context and the reasons why the school project was
established and finished. This research is a case study with historical approach, which
combines bibliographical analysis, documental analysis and oral history. Moreover,
we aim to investigate the whole school operation - administratively and
pedagogically. Therefore, the chapters of this dissertation analyze the political and
ideological context of the time when the school was founded, and also the relations
between the school and the community, the school culture, and how this culture was
perceived and rescued in the memory of the school’s ex-students and employees, who
even nowadays have associations that celebrate the social bonds established by means
of this culture.

A pesquisa
campo.
[en] The current research aimed to study High School in two areas of Rio de
Janeiro city through the relationship of youth and schoolmasters facing the issue
of educational oportunities of High School. The research departs from the concept
of Geography of Opportunity (Galster e Killen, 1995) to investigate the objective
(offer of educational resources) e subjective aspects (values, expectations e
aspirations) of educational opportunities. Firstly, the Geography of Opportunity of
the schools of High School of Rio de Janeiro city was analyzed having as basys
the data from Censo Escolar 2005, in which were identified two areas near slums
marked simultaneously by relative inequality between supply and demand as well
as by the proximity to major shopping centers. In this sense, a number of schools
was selected so that a fied work could be carried out. The methodology involved
visits to schools, observations, informal and semi-structured interviews, and the
application of questionnaires. The results indicate that the geography of objective
of opportunity can not be taken as inert, because on which focuses force fields as
political and social determinations that are able to create new dynamics that as
well interfere in the development of the subjective geography of opportunity
among individuals.

[en] NETSPEAK: DESCRIPTION AND USES / [pt] O INTERNETÊS: DESCRIÇÃO E USOSTIAGO DA SILVA RIBEIRO 26 August 2011 (has links)
Esses
padrões refletem a fonética e a estrutura silábica do português de forma bastante
[en] Interpersonal relationships are more than ever virtual. E-mails, chats,
discussion lists, Twitter, and other communication tools are expanding their use,
both in professional environments and in personal life. On account of the virtual
revolution, a lot has been said about the language of the Internet, but little effort
is made to describe and use it as a source of studies on the current Portuguese
language. We believe that the understanding of the structure of the netspeak is
useful for several research areas, such as the Corpus Linguistics. Based on this
assumption, this paper aims at describing the synthesis processes found on
Internet texts in order to prove that there are rules on the formation of
abbreviations and other words that are typical of this new form of expression. We
found, through quantitative research, patterns of the netspeak, which proves that
this language is not configured as an anarchic deviation of cultivated language.
These patterns reflect the phonetic and syllabic structure of the Portuguese
language rather systematically, showing the speakers implicit knowledge of the
grammar and its eagerness to follow the principles of communicability. We also
found qualitative and quantitative differences in the use of abbreviation according
to the textual gender in which they appear. We believe that the understanding of
the processes of the language used on the internet is important for the teaching of
writing as well as its formal description can provide answers to criticisms against
this form of communicating, which coming from both teachers and students. So,
at the end of this thesis, we suggest some tasks that make better use of the
increasing activity of reading and writing provided by the boom in online
communications, in order to achieve more sophisticated levels of literacy. Rather
than describing the abbreviations used on the Internet without suggesting how to
deal with them, we try to provide a new perspective to scholars from various
fields that deal with the Internet language, as well as to teachers and students who
have a wrong view about this language.

comportamentais hegemônicos no ocidente. O corpus
afetar a regulação do coletivo adolescente no ensino
fundamental?
[en] The present thesis provides a case study of a municipal
public school in the city of Rio de Janeiro, based on
documental research and interviews with principals,
teachers, custodian and teenage students, as well as
ethnographic observations conducted during the 2006 school
year. The work discusses the different modes of dialogue
observed in the school`s day-to-day running along
with questions of group regulation, concentrating
especially on seventh and eight grades, with observation of
four different classes. The thesis focuses primarily on
instruction, emphasizing the multidimensionality of the
teaching-learning processes and maintaining a constant
dialogue with contributions from critical and
intercultural theories. The studies of Vera Candau and
Peter McLaren provide a theoretical guideline in relation
to instruction, as well as critical and intercultural
approaches, while Norbert Elias`s works on the cultural
construction of hegemonic behaviour in the West help
explore the meaning and productivity of the school
regulation practices discussed in the thesis. The body of
documental information compiled during the field research
was analyzed from an initial question: How do the modes of
dialogue found in schools affect teenage group
regulation in intermediate school? This developed into the
following lines of inquiry: What meaning do the studied
individuals attribute to the words adolescence,
indiscipline and school violence? How did the question of
difference appear in these meaning creating processes? What
kinds of group-related behaviour were favoured as a result
of these processes? The diversity perceived
in the school under study, however, prevents us from
discussing this research context in one-dimensional terms.
Although teenage voices were frequently disqualified, on
the basis of an essentialist and negative view of this age
group, which tended to undermine the possibility of
intercultural dialogue between adolescents and some of the
adults in this school, other professionals refused to
share this view, allowing themselves to engage in dialogue
with the cultural differences posed by teenagers and
tending to have fewer disciplinary problems in
their classes, such as lack of concentration and minor acts
of violence. The thesis also investigates other aspects of
the wider sociocultural environment affecting the issues
under analysis, such as the crisis in authority, the
decline of the institutional program (as described by
François Dubet), cybernetic culture, and the
general precariousness of teaching-learning conditions.
These factors in mind, generalizations that seek to explain
the widespread difficulties faced by many
contemporary schools in relation to adolescent interactions
and behaviour on a supposed cultural rupture involving the
younger generations are questioned, observing that, between
ballgames and mp3s teenagers from the studied school
chose both.
