廟宇空間及其使用之研究-以大龍峒保安宮為例 / The Spatial usage of the Taiwanese traditional temple

摘 要 臺灣的宗教信仰,以臺灣民間信仰最為蓬勃發展,臺灣的廟宇數量也與信徒人數成正比,臺灣素有「三步一小廟;五步一大廟」之稱。許多人的成長經驗中,對於廟宇空間並不陌生,但我們所經驗的廟宇空間,畢竟只是廟宇空間活動中冰山的一角,並不能呈現真實社會中廟宇空間的全貌。因此,若要探討廟宇空間使用的全貌,就必須從空間使用與人群行為等,才能真實呈現出廟宇信仰的各個面貌。本文選擇大龍峒保安宮作為田野觀察的對象,透過實際觀察人們在大龍峒保安宮的空間使用,初步有四點研究發現。 廟宇具有四種重要功能:文化教育、經濟、社會與宗教的功能。一是宗教功能,保安宮透過這些誦經的法會,主要可以提供信眾解罪、祈福的功能。另外,保安宮駐廟道士李繼昌道長,一年到頭提供解祭、收驚、補運、求光明等各項法事,提供信眾在運途低落、身體不適的心靈寄託。此外,神明也提供宗教上的依靠,廟裡的效勞生認為透過身體勞力的付出,換取神明對於一家大小的保佑;二是經濟功能,保安宮自創建時期,便與四十四坎形成廟街聚落,其週邊的經濟效力不容小覷。除了地方宮廟週邊的廟街、攤販、廟宇相關產業的經濟效益外,其實宮廟本身就是一個龐大的經濟體;三是社會功能,保安宮在社會與公益活動方面,可分為常態性與特殊狀況(機動性)的救濟活動。另外,筆者發現保安宮的義工制度,提供另一種的社會福利。保安宮就像最具人性尊嚴的養老院,它提供老人家排遣寂寞的空間,讓老人家在做義工的過程中,如簡單的打掃、顧金紙攤、折金紙、清理燭臺等,感受到他們被社會需要。另外,廟裡很多人可以聊天互動,也提供他們社會人際關係上的需求;四是文化、教育功能,以保安宮為例,它用極致的古蹟建築,輔以藝文班、學術講座、道教學院等方式,傳遞一個地方廟宇的風華。 保安宮的規劃與實際空間使用行為存在落差,其落差來自人對於文化的認同與了解程度的不同。此外,在空間使用上,內部人員與外部人員存在使用空間的不同;即使是內部人員也會因為職位、貢獻程度與可替換性的高低不同,造成空間分配與使用上的不一樣。 關鍵字:保安宮、空間使用、廟宇的社會功能 / Abstract Taiwan folk belief is the most vigorous development in Taiwan's religious belief. Taiwan's temple quantity also has the direct ratio with the follower population. In many people's experiences, they do'nt feels strange to the temple space, but the temple space experienced is limited, it certainly cannot present complete picture of the temple space in the real society the. Therefore, if we would like to discuss the complete picture of the temple space used, it needs to be considered from the spatial usage and the people's behavior and. Then, we can really present complete picture of the Taiwan's temple space. This article chooses a case study of Taipei Dalongdong Pan-an temple to take the field observation . First, with actually observing the people's spatial usage in Taipei Dalongdong Pan-an temple, the preliminary research discovered the temple has four important functions. These four functions are the cultural and educational, the economical, social and the religious function. Speaking of the cultural and the educational function, Taipei Dalongdong Pan-an temple with its historical site construction, takes the assistance with literary arts class, academic course, Taoism institute to transmits a locality temple's culture ; In the economical function aspect, Taipei Dalongdong Pan-an temple since it was founded, then forms 44 merchant settlements, and its peripheral economical potency does not allow to belittle, moreover, Taipei Dalongdong Pan-an temple itself is a huge economical body, its related economic activity also has the moving force ; The third one is the social function. In recent years, because the Taiwan temple had the massive social resources, it had been engaged in the social public welfare activity and the philanthropy. In social and the public welfare activity aspect, Taipei Dalongdong Pan-an temple may divide into the habit and the mobile relief activity. Moreover, the author discovered the volunteer system of Taipei Dalongdong Pan-an temple provides the old person to dispel boredom lonely and social activity ; The Fourth one is the religious function, Taipei Dalongdong Pan-an temple's taoist priest provides each taoism ritual procedures all year long, enables the unlucky follower to have the dependence. In addition, the gods also provide religious dependence, the volunteers in the temple exchange family members' safety with their labors. Secondly, this article that the actual spatial of Taipei Dalongdong Pan-an temple doesn't match for its original plan because the differences in people's considerations. In addition, in the spatial usage, internal personnel is different from exterior personnel; Even if the internal personnel can also because of the position, the contribution degree create difference. 日治時期廣告中的女性圖像分析-以《臺灣日日新報》為分析場域 / Representing Female Image during the Period of Japanese Occupation: An Analysis of “Taiwan Jih Jih Shin Pao”s Advertisements

本研究運用Roland Barthes符號學分析,研究日治時期發行量最大的《臺灣日日新報》廣告中的女性圖像,試圖瞭解日治時期報紙廣告的圖像運作邏輯,以及廣告中呈現的理想女性形象為何,在女性形象背後又隱藏著什麼樣的意識型態。 研究發現,日治時期,殖民臺灣的總督府雖然基於發展經濟的理由,透過放足運動與興辦現代化教育等手段,提供女性走出家庭,進入工作職場等機會,但由殖民者主導的現代化過程,並沒有讓臺灣女性地位有實質上的提升。女性雖然在現代化的過程中,形象越趨多元、活潑,但一但圖像出現與「他者」的互動關係,傳統社會與殖民統治產生的階級差異便呈現在圖像運作原則之中,「殖民者 > 被殖民者」、「男性 > 女性」的原則顯而易見。日治時期的「理想女性」形象也依循對「賢妻良母」要求而生,最終還是需要符合社會期望,回歸家庭才能成為「理想女性」。此外研究也發現,無論臺灣女性在殖民時期現代化程度為何,最終還是擺脫不了被殖民者被剝削的結果。 / Adopting pictorial semiotics, the present study analyzes female images of advertisements of Taiwan Jih Jih Shin Pao (1898-1944), the largest newspaper in colonial Taiwan. The research aims at discovering the textual and graphic strategies employed by advertisers to represent ”women” and therefore explaining the social, cultural and political struggles embedded in these print ads. The research results indicates that although during the period of the Japanese occupation, the colonialist liberated the bound feet of Taiwanese women and provided opportunities for women to work and to receive western education. However, Taiwanese women’s social status did not improve accordingly. According to our analysis, even though various female images might be found in the samples, the presentation strategies of the women in print ad often follow two semiotic rules: the status of males is higher than of females. Women in Taiwan were mostly portrayed as dutiful wives or caring mothers at home so as to meet the social expectation of traditional and ideal women. In summary, the social role of Taiwanese women war restricted and exploited despite the modernization during the Japanese occupation period.

世界‧民俗‧帝國——《臺灣婦人界》小說研究 / The cosmopolitan, the folklore and the empire: a postcolonial reading of Taiwan Fujinkai

《臺灣婦人界》(1934-1939)為日治時期最具規模的女性雜誌,也是1930年代刊載最大量通俗小說的刊物。本論文以殖民現代性與女性經驗的交織為主軸,提出《臺灣婦人界》小說的後殖民閱讀。日治時期台灣女性最初的現代體驗,奠基於殖民現代性所帶來的教育機會與物質文明,一方面秉持啟蒙開化的信念給予女性前所未有的自由與選擇,另一方面則訴諸文明優劣程度築起一道文化同化的門檻。「世界」指新女性走出家屋展望世界的文本效應。女性透過教養、知識提升成為公領域典範的可能,以及不同族裔、背景的女性基於文明信念而想像出的共同體,是《臺灣婦人界》一再宣揚的普遍價值。「民俗」是與上述普遍性對照之下的差異性,信仰漢人宗教的女性成為奇觀的拼貼素材,也化身被排除的迷信舊慣。這些文化差異性復又受到「帝國」殖民同化計畫的整編與改造,其透過女性之於家庭與社會的角色,以日本現代文明與大和民族的優越位階,對不同出身、階級與族裔的差異主體實行精神統馭。   筆者從《臺灣婦人界》觀察到上述三個大方向,並參照史碧娃克(Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak)、霍米巴巴(Homi Bhabha)的後殖民觀點,進一步解析殖民現代性排除與整編的策略如何在小說中一一受到挑戰。被體制重重壓迫的底層女性身影解構了以自由主義理念為根基、中產階級身份為前提的文明女性想像。被現代理性準繩貶抑的民俗迷信拯救了台灣女性的主體分裂危機,證明原生文化始終是殖民現代性無法割除斬斷的一部份。混血的女性身體隱喻著台灣多層歷史與地緣脈絡的軌跡,那難以馴化的混雜性揭發了殖民改造計畫的破綻。本論文探討的包括黃寶桃、西川滿等已受學界所知的作家,以及陳華培、別所夏子等未曾受到討論的台日創作者,期能為這份議題性與份量兼具、卻幾乎未受到注意的史料梳理一個輪廓,揭示《臺灣婦人界》之於日治時期文學研究、女性史研究以及後殖民研究的價值。 / Taiwan Fujinkai (1934-1939) was the most influential women’s magazine in colonial Taiwan, on which women’s experience were closely interweaved with colonial modernity. For women in colonial Taiwan, the first experience of modernization was founded on the modern education and material environment by Japanese power, and thus contained double sides. One was the sense of liberation brought by the belief of enlightenment, another was the awareness of discrimination between the superior and the inferior. “The cosmopolitan” refers to an imagined community where women from all backgrounds can be canonized if they followed the universal route of modernization. Being a contrast of this universality, images of women in “the folklore” was represented as the backwardness eliminated from the modern society. In the civilizing mission of “the empire,” these eliminated cultures were assimilated into the imperial project again, which seek to rule and reform the colonized through the hand of civilized wives and mothers. With Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak and Homi Bhabha’s postcolonial concepts, this paper examines how Japan’s strategy of elimination and assimilation was challenged in the fictions in Taiwan Fujinkai. The subaltern women in the bottom of social system broke the liberalist imagination of women’s civilizing route. A ghost haunted in Taiwan women’s mind implied that the native folklore can be oppressed but never divisible. The mixed-blood woman’s body disclosed the invalidity of Japan’s attempt to discipline the hybridity of it colony. My discussion includes Huang Pao-tao, Nishikawa Mitsuru and other undiscovered texts. Probing into this important but rarely investigated magazine, I seek to uncover its value for the literature study, women’s study and postcolonial study in the field of Taiwan literature.

野性的媒介創業者:台灣有線電視系統先驅者口述傳記研究 / The Savage in Media Entrepreneur: The Oral Biographical Reconstruction of Cable Television Pioneers in Taiwan

本研究擬從經濟社會學和創業研究等觀點,對台灣有線電視系統先驅者所進行的媒介創業行動進行考察,嘗試說明早期有線電視系統業者媒介創業行動的行動邏輯,以及揭露其創業行動邏輯的社會根源。 通過媒介創業行動意涵的討論,並彙整當代創業研究的論述,以及參考場域、資本與慣習等概念,本研究將媒介創業行動的考察,聚焦在媒介創業歷程中文化資本、社會資本與象徵資本等不同類型的創業資本,如何進行交換的問題上。 關於研究方法與研究對象的選擇,本研究以口述傳記研究法來蒐集有線電視系統先驅者的媒介經驗,並以台灣選擇社區共同天線系統業者,作為研究的個案。通過對於研究個案的訪談與傳記資料的重構,以及口述傳記訪談法的應用,本文嘗試重建早期有線電視系統業者之媒介創業經驗的整體形貌。 經由對業者之媒介創業經驗的解析,本研究嘗試揭露早期有線電視系統業者所從事之媒介創業的行動邏輯,並推論出:「技術能動性的作用」、「情感互惠的中介」、「『報』的社會常規的應用」、「自尊與歸屬之創業情感的自我期望」等意義結構,是解釋台灣有線電視系統媒介創業行動的關鍵行動邏輯。 進一步,對於媒介創業行動邏輯的社會根源問題,本研究嘗試扣連台灣在地社會的文化傳統,發現在地社會中所強調「人情主義」、「義氣習性」與「技藝精神」等常民規範性,是驅動媒介創業歷程中「情感互惠」、「回報常規」習性與技術能動性的社會文化根源。 結語,本研究指出,受到創業冒險、自信與樂觀等情感因素所導引的台灣有線電視系統先驅者,他們實為一群具有「即興展演」的行動能力,並以文化常規中的「情義」邏輯,來進行創業行動的「野性」的媒介創業者。而相異於當代主流創業論述強調工具理性、資源有效運用的行動思維,這群「野性」的媒介創業者,他們勇於突破政策管制的困境,巧於利用技術物之功能的能力,是他們之所以能夠通過技術與市場的高度不確定性,以及媒體管制政策的壓力,成功進行媒介創業行動的能動性根源。 最終,扣連到傳播生態發展史的論述,本研究發現,這群帶有野性精神的媒介創業者,不僅具有啟動不同資本之交換行動的能動性,他們所具有的創新與創造性行動的力量,更是馴化新傳播的科技特性,使傳播科技得以轉化為日常生活之媒體的關鍵力量。 / This study aims to investigates media entrepreneurial phenomenon which caused by the rise of new communication technology by the viewpoints of economic sociology and entrepreneurship. Based on the unfolding of the oral biography from the cable television pioneers in Taiwan, this study illustrates the action logics of social exchange about media entrepreneurial activities in Taiwan. Discussed on the contemporary communication phenomenon, entrepreneurship theories and economic sociology theory, this study illustrating the meaning of media entrepreneurship in history, figuring out the overview of media entrepreneurship study, describing the view of ‘media workers as media entrepreneurs’, discussing the meaning and types of ‘media entrepreneurs’, identifying three theoretical dimensions in media entrepreneurial processes, and summarizing the framework of analyzing the media entrepreneurial processes by using the concepts from cultural capitals, social capitals, and symbolic capitals. According to the work of structural analysis of narration, case reconstruction, and concept crystallization, this study finds: ‘the function of technical agency’, ‘the intermediary of entrepreneurial emotion’, ‘the application of Pao from social codes’, and ‘the project of self esteem and belonging ’ are the core meaning structures about the action logics of Taiwan Cable Television pioneers. About the problems on social origins of the media entrepreneurial process in Taiwan Cable Television pioneers, this study also finds: ‘the ontology of emotion’, ‘the rules of cultural Yi-Chi disposition’, and ‘the spirit of craftsmanship’ are the social origins from local culture in Taiwan. In conclusion, this study points out that these pioneers afford the improvisation for the potential of communication technology, and they can domesticate the wildness of new media technology. Further, they can perform the innovation and creative power to encounter the technology-market uncertainty, and overcome the regulation from government. Finally, this study name there pioneers in Taiwan Cable Television as the ‘Savage in media entrepreneur’, they possess the strong entrepreneurial agency, and they can build the new media ecology for future.

漢語多義詞「跑」之結構及語意分析 / A structural and semantic analysis of the polysemous verb PAO in Mandarin Chinese

一詞多義是所有語言會出現的共有現象,然而,過往較少探討多義詞整體結構與其各義項間的關聯,也鮮少討論句法結構延伸的原因。本篇研究將探討漢語日常使用頻率較高的移動動詞「跑」的多義性,以中研院語料庫之語料為本,客觀的回歸到語言事實作分析,並參照Talmy(1975, 1985, 2000)提出的移動事件框架,檢視「跑」所體現的概念結構及句法結構間的關聯,試圖解釋造成不及物用法至非常規賓語用法背後所展現的機制,此外,本文根據教育部重編國語辭典、中文詞彙網絡知識庫內「跑」的定義及參照Evans(2005)的原則性多義理論,確立「跑」的獨立義項並探討概念結構中不同元素的變化和「跑」多義性之間的關聯,進一步地說明各義項間的相關性與區別性,最後,參照Lakoff(1987)的放射形範疇結構整理出屬於「跑」的語意網絡圖。 本篇研究結果顯示,「跑」共有四種不同的句法結構,分別為最典型的不及物﹝A.名詞短語+跑﹞句式,由趨向介詞帶出名詞短語的﹝B.名詞短語+處所/趨向介詞+名詞短語+跑﹞句式及﹝C.名詞短語+跑+處所/趨向介詞+名詞短語﹞句式、從不及物用法延伸至非常規賓語用法的﹝D.名詞短語+跑+名詞短語(斜格)﹞句式,各句式映射到的概念結構皆不同,是概念結構內不同要素的變化影響句法結構的改變,人類的自然認知過程使路徑延伸出不同種類,造成「跑」的非常規賓語用法以及延伸出不同於字面義的其他義項。此外,本文確立「跑」的七個獨立義項為「以兩腿交互快速向前移動」義、「往特定目標移動」義、「為某事忙碌奔走」義、「迅速離開、逃走、躲避」義、「兩個以上的參與者競速」義、「交通工具或物體的移動」義及「離開原有的位置」義,各義項的出現與整體句法結構、概念結構及語境有很大的關聯,總結來說,「跑」所體現的概念結構、句法結構及語意三者之間的相互影響是造成多義現象的重要因素。 / This study investigates the prevalently used polysemous motion verb PAO “run” in Mandarin Chinese. The data are extracted from Academic Sinica Balanced Corpus of Modern Chinese. Under the framework of Motion Event Frame (Talmy 1975, 1985, 2000), the study explicates the mechanism of PAO’s syntactic complexities in a more plausible manner. Four different structures of PAO are detected: the most typical intransitive structure [A. NP+PAO], structures with prepostions [B. NP+P+PAO+NP] and [C. NP+PAO+P+NP], and the unconventional transtive structure [D. NP+PAO+NP(oblique case)]. Each structure manifests different conceptual structures. It is claimed that the extention of Path has caused the usage of unconventional transtive structure and the polysemous phenomenon of PAO. In addition, this paper investigates the relationship between the different senses of PAO and elements in its conceptual structure. The relevance and distinction between the different senses of PAO are built as a radial categorization. PAO is suggested to have seven different senses: move quickly with legs, move to specific places, move for specific reasons, escape, two or more participants race, vehicles or objects move and leave the original location. Each sense is related to the overall syntactic structure, the conceptual structure and different contexts. In conclusion, the interaction between the conceputual structure, the syntactic structure and semantic meanings is a major factor that makes a polysemy.

Abstract This thesis illustrates the social engagement in the literary writings of Pier Vittorio Tondelli, an Italian gay author whose works have been described by many Catholic, Materialists, and gay critics as frivolous and disengaged. The dissertation summarizes the mutation of the Italian literary concept of impegno from Neorealism to Postmodernism, through a selection of the texts of Elio Vittorini, Italo Calvino, Franco Fortini, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Leonardo Sciascia, and Umberto Eco. It shows how Tondelli’s interpretation of the role of the writer falls within the definitions given by Calvino and Eco. Moreover, the thesis demonstrates that Altri libertini and Pao Pao satisfy the characteristics of littérature mineure established by Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, though Tondelli’s oeuvre is socially engaged instead of being politically engaged because of his lack of a political ideology. The dissertation highlights the core of Tondelli’s social commitment in his passionate defense of the outcasts in: Altri libertini where drug addicts, homosexuals, transsexuals, and bums are the protagonists; Pao Pao where a group of gay soldiers is described in its grotesque and camp attempt to “homosexualize” their barrack; Rimini where the Riviera Adriatica is portrayed as a place where everyone passes by and no one belongs; Camere separate through the love story of a gay couple in which one partner has to survive his lover’s death, due to an illness that is demonstrated in this thesis to be AIDS, while fighting against the homophobia of their families, institutions, society, and religion. Most of Tondelli’s socially excluded characters are introduced to the reader through an internal homodiegetic point of view. Another important component of Tondelli’s impegno is his open defense of both pop-culture and counter-cultures: gay, hippies, rockers, experimental theatre, street artists and alternative radio, which are central in all his writings.

Friction and wear study of lean powder metallurgy steel in a lubricated sliding contact

A fairly new technology used to produce metallic components is powder metallurgy (PM). Among the advantages with this technique are decreased cost of production for complex-shaped parts, new alloys are made possible, reduced end processing, less material loss, and vibrational damping effects. The downside is the number of pores created which can alter the tribological properties of the material. The focus of this report is to investigate how lean PM steel behaves under tribological contacts.  Friction and wear will be investigated using a pin-on-disc setup to mimic the sliding part of a gear tooth mesh. Previous studies show that the amount of wear, and if the wear increases or decreases with increased density is dependent on the degree of porosity and the pore size. This means that the wear might be minimized by optimizing the number of pores in the material and their shape and size. The result of this study shows that the friction coefficient decreases with increasing density. The wear coefficient show signs of the same correlations but further tests are needed. The main wear comes from adhesive wear, with signs of abrasive wear. The amount of abrasive wear seems to increase with an increase in density, supporting previous studies claiming that pores can trap wear debris and decrease the number of abrasive particles in the contact.
