Medienpädagogik groß geschrieben: Positive Erfahrungen aus Chemnitz

Ollesch, Karin 20 December 2010 (has links)

: Om skrivfrämjande arbete på svenska folkbibliotek / To Write or Not to Write? : About Writing Promotion at Swedish Public Libraries

Gustafsson, Pontus January 2021 (has links)
Swedish public libraries have offered writing courses and activities for decades. Despite that, writing doesn’t necessarily seem to have an obvious place at all public libraries. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the status of writing promotion at Swedish public libraries. The study is conducted using several methods. Firstly, official library statistics are used to map creative writing activities at public libraries. Secondly, library plans from Swedish regions are used to study how they define writing promotion related to public library. Thirdly, three interviews are conducted with people who have worked with writing promotion. The four-space model from 2012 is used to analyze the motives for writing promotion related to public libraries. The statistic results show that writing activities has a low priority in comparison with other activities at the public library. Moreover, the statistics show that public libraries vary in offering writing activities, both at a national and a regional level. The results based on the library plans show that public libraries in many regions work, or want to work, with writing promotion. In most of the regions the writing promotion can be connected to all four spaces and goals according to The four-space model. Through writing promotion public libraries can offer an inspiration space, a learning space, a meeting space and a performative space, consequently supporting experience, empowerment, involvement and innovation. The status of writing promotion seems, however, to vary among the regions. The interviews reveal, in accordance with the library plans, that writing promotion belongs in public libraries.  In conclusion, the thesis shows that writing promotion is overshadowed by reading promotion at Swedish public libraries. In addition, the thesis shows that the status of writing promotion has potential to increase at Swedish public libraries. This is a two years master ́s thesis in Library and Information Science.

Som man frågar får man svar : Nedslag i ansökningar till Kulturrådets bidrag Stärkta bibliotek från Stockholm och Dalarna 2018–2022 / Ask and you shall receive : - a study of a selection of applications for development grants made to the Swedish arts council from two regions of Sweden 2018-2022

Holmgren, Felicia January 2023 (has links)
This study examines a selection of library grant applications submitted to the Swedish Arts Council from two regions, Stockholm and Dalarna, during the period of 2018-2022. Employing content and document analysis, the essay investigates how the 20 applications for library grants address questions related to local needs, norm criticism, accessibility, and long-term impact. Through comparative analysis with relevant paragraphs from the Swedish library law, it becomes evident that the application responses closely align with the stipulations outlined in the law, and other governing documents. Additionally, this essay argues that the formulation of application questions restricts applicants from freely expressing their needs and ideas, potentially indicating control exerted by the Swedish government, specifically through the Swedish Arts Council, over local library operations and municipal cultural politics. This is a two-year master's thesis in Library and Information Science.

To Read or Not to Read, That Is the Question : An Analysis of Governmental Publications, the Curriculum of Upper Secondary School, and a Closer Look at Teachers’ Work with Reading Promotion in the English Subject at Swedish Upper Secondary Schools

Zetterberg, Isabelle January 2023 (has links)
Recent reports have confirmed that Swedish adolescents read less every year. Because of these reports, Swedish governments have implemented regulations to provide directions and emphasize the importance of reading promotion. However, how much these regulations have affected the curriculum for upper secondary schools in general, and the English syllabus specifically, is unclear. Therefore, this study aimed firstly to analyze the responsibilities of English teachers at upper secondary school regarding reading promotion, and secondly to take a closer look at the practice of reading promotion in the English classroom. This was conducted in a combined-methods study. Firstly, a close reading and analysis of what signals governments and governmental agencies have been sending out regarding reading promotion were carried out, and of how visible these signals are in the curriculum/syllabus. Secondly, a survey was conducted asking EFL teachers in upper secondary school how they look upon their responsibilities in this regard and what they practice in class.  The results show that the curriculum of upper secondary school does not reflect the governments’ emphasis on reading promotion. Some guidelines are provided, but they are vague, and it is unclear if they are part of the English teacher’s responsibility. Despite the lack of emphasis on reading in the curriculum, the survey results show that the participating English teachers believe reading is important and work with reading promotion. However, the respondents stress that more resources for school libraries are needed to improve their work.

FRANCINETE NASCIMENTO DOS SANTOS 13 March 2020 (has links)
[en] This master s dissertation, entitled Beyond the School Walls: Critical Memory of Practices and Pedagogical Experiences, brings as theme experiences related to the promotion of reading in schools. "Inte en egen liten ö" : Ett arrangemangsteoretiskt perspektiv på skolbibliotekets roll för elevers läsvanor

Haglund, Valda January 2022 (has links)
Problem and purpose: The study concern what role the school library play for students reading habits, and which conditions are required to contribute to students' civic education. The purpose is to create an understanding of the school library's activities, as an institution within the Swedish school system, and its role for education through the development and establishment of high school students' reading habits. Method and theory: The study is a case study where the data material was collected via qualitative semistructured interviews. Natasha Gerolami's theory of the library as an arrangement forms the theoretical basis of this study where concepts are taken from Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari's posthumanist theory. Materials and results: Through qualitative semi-structured interviews with a teacher and two school librarians, it is shown that the school library plays an important role for students' knowledge development but also for a number of alternative roles. In the reading promotion developmental work, it emerged that cooperation and collaboration between different actors is important. Conclusions: In the analysis of the school library's role in students' reading habits that has been carried out, a tension emerges between considering the school library as a goal-oriented institution in relation to considering it as an assemblage. When the school library, which in this study is regarded as an institutional arrangement, the image of a creative and productive place emerges, a place for ‘becoming’, which thus highlights its social role. From this point of view, there is also a caring role that also includes care for the students' civic ‘bildung’, and that development work can be understood as focused on creation, and not primarily on finances and efficiency towards pre-defined goals.

Die Leseförderung in Spanien

Castronovo, Calogero 10 September 2009 (has links)
At the beginning of the 21st century the Spanish government launched the most important reading promotion campaign in the history of the country. The objective campaign, that still continues, is to correct the important deficiencies of the reading habits of the Spaniards and to guarantee the access to the information and knowledge society for every citizen. In the first part of the thesis, the author describes the historical reasons for the present reading deficiencies in the population. He also analyzes the most important studies about the reading habits in Spain. An investigation about the situation of the publishing world and its effects on the reading culture, and an account oft the law on Books, Reading and Libraries from 2007 helped to create the context in which the new efforts to improve the reading competence are taking place. In the second part of the work the author analyzes the most representative projects of reading promotion, that have been started from the central, but also from regional and municipal administrations, as well as from private initiators. The most important among these projects is the National Reading Promotion Plan. It was developed from the Spanish Ministry of Culture and has the function of an integration and reference point for all the local reading promotion actions in the country. The public presentation of this Plan in 2001 represented the beginning of a deep transformation process of the reading culture of the nation. As the libraries have always been indispensable centres for reading promotion, the last part of the thesis describes the development of the Spanish librarian system in the three last decades focusing special interest on the school and public libraries. The literacy environment in support of voluntary reading: a case study in Gauteng East and the Highveld Ridge area

Tiemensma, Leoné 30 November 2007 (has links)
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the literacy environment at home, at school and in the community and the development of voluntary reading and thus a reading habit. This research is relevant as there is an alarming drop out rate, poor matriculation results and low scores in reading performance tests in South African schools. Many factors and possible causes can contribute to this, but a major problem is the lack of a reading habit, low literacy levels and an environment that is not supportive of literacy. As a result, many children are still leaving school functionally illiterate. In order to develop a reading habit, learners must get maximum support and encouragement from their literacy environment, as children learn from what is going on around them. The major role players in the learner's literacy environment, are the home and family (microstructure), the school and teachers, and his community which includes libraries (macrostructure). A literature study on the foundations, contexts and practices of literacy, voluntary reading and environmental factors that affect reading provides the theoretical basis and a conceptual framework for this study. The research method used is a case study with the focus on a sample of learners from Grade 3 - 7 from schools in the Highveld Ridge and Gauteng East area. Due to budgetary and logistical constraints, rural areas are not included. The empirical survey investigates various aspects of the literacy environment. The survey method, with questionnaires for learners, teachers and headmasters, was used. Both quantitative and qualitative methods are used to generate data. The findings are that many learners experience difficulties which hinder the development of a reading habit, for example: schools and communities do not have libraries, or access to them is limited; appropriate reading materials are not available; or learners do not have access to them; multilingualism is a major problem in a country with eleven official languages, as many learners have to learn and teachers have to teach in a language other than their mother tongue; parents are not literate and cannot help their children; socio-economic conditions are not conductive to reading; there is a lack of support from governmental at various levels. Although findings in a case study cannot be generalised, certain conclusions and suggestions can guide teachers, parents and librarians to create a more supportive literacy environment to encourage voluntary reading. / Information Science / M.A. (Information Science)

For modern Digital Natives, the establishment of reading promotion for children in a library should adopt diverse methods to promote reading. Aside from printed books, public libraries in our nation have recently been devoted to enriching their electronic recourses to provide diverse reading databases for the public to choose from. In Taipei Public Library, there are rich databases of Chinese picture books; however, these books are rarely used by the storytelling team, Teacher Lin. The present study therefore aimed at exploring the feasibility and execution of the adoption of electronic picture books in Teacher Lin’s storytelling. The study adopted the action research to investigate whether electronic picture books storytelling would arouse children’s interests in reading and improve the limitations in printed books storytelling, and to offer advice for designs and procedures of electronic picture books storytelling. The present study provides criteria for selections of electronic picture books, and guidelines for electronic picture books storytelling, including objectives, available recourses, procedures, and ways of rewards of storytelling activities. Teacher Lin thus may follow these criteria and guidelines when carrying out storytelling activities. Feedback from Teacher Lin then was collected via interviews. The results of the study were addressed as follows. First, the action research was helpful in Teacher Lin’s storytelling and selections of electronic picture books. Second, features of electronic picture books could improve the limitations in printed books storytelling. Third, children’s motivation was enhanced in electronic picture books storytelling. Fourth, nonlinear reading was more suitable for children of intermediate grades. Fifth, it was worthwhile to promote electronic picture books storytelling in Teacher Lin’s storytelling activities. Sixth, in terms of storytelling, electronic picture books were more beneficial than hardcopy books. Lastly, the following were some suggestions. First, it is essential to purchase more databases of Chinese picture books. Second, workshops about the adoption of electronic picture books may be held, and members in Teacher Lin are recruited. Third, members in Teacher Lin should be allowed to access to these databases. Fourth, issues on intellectual property rights of online reading need to be solved. Fifth, purchases of electronic white boards can promote effectiveness of Teacher Lin’s storytelling. Sixth, demonstrations of electronic picture books storytelling need to be held. Seventh, features of interface of databases need to be well used to design activities. Eighth, understanding of content of electronic picture books is essential for activity design.
