The competent and mindful improvising agent in everyday life : A qualitative study about how experience of improvisational theatre affect individuals social skills and interpretation of everyday life

Hardestam, Hjalmar January 2019 (has links)

To tell or not to tell about bullying in school : How gender, social self-efficacy and authoritative teachers are associated with middle grade students’ intention to disclose bullying victimization to adults in school

Werner, Agnes, Bergqvist, Lina January 2023 (has links)

The significance of social context and risk perception in the covid-19 pandemic : A qualitative study with students, seniors, food store workers and care workers

Källbäcker, Jonathan January 2021 (has links)
The aim of this report was to examine individuals from different groups to see how their experiences, beliefs and everyday life has been during the Covid-19 pandemic. Thereafter the aim was to evaluate the results with the help of behavioral and risk theories of relevance to the pandemic in combination with mental models. The idea with the connection between the individual experiences and these theories was to come to an understanding about which aspects affect the spread of the virus. The study was based on the following research questions: Is there a difference between groups how they have adapted to the pandemic? If people go against recommendations and restrictions, how do they motivate that? In what way do people feel they have made a change during the pandemic? Can social aspects and perceived risk create an understanding of which factors affect the spreading of the virus? The data was collected via semi structured interviews. The analysis was made with an interpretative phenomenological analysis. Three overarching themes were identified, how the participants act, how they reason, and how they have changed. The conclusion made from the study was that there were some differences between groups how they have adapted to the pandemic and that the motivations behind the activities which were against recommendations and restrictions were largely based on social context, perceived risk and activities the participants were doing before the pandemic. The participants also felt they had made changes to their lives. Social contact was shown to be important to feel a sense of belonging, a feeling of contributing and to get different input. Finally, the conclusion was drawn that social context and perceived risk should be considered to understand the spreading of the virus and thereby the pandemic.

Parental Styles and Adolescents’ Autonomy

Yengo, Whitney Hope January 2023 (has links)
This thesis aims to investigate the influence of parental styles on an adolescent's ability to access and receive sexual health services, regardless of the existing policies that may or may not require parental consent. Through stratified sampling, participants who lived in different parts of Sweden during their adolescence were interviewed. The Parental Power Assertion theory has been used to identify the parental styles used by the interviewees’ parents under their adolescence. Additionally, the Self-Determination Theory has been used to determine their level of autonomy during their adolescence. The data collected indicated that parenting styles have a significant impact on an adolescent's autonomy, particularly in relation to their sexual health decisions. The findings show that parental styles play an important role in shaping an adolescent's autonomy in making their own sexual health decisions.

Human capital development and competence structures in changing media production environments

Politis, Anastasios E. January 2004 (has links)
<p>This doctoral thesis discusses the competence structures and the development of human capital in the graphic arts and media sector. The study has focused on exploring the new media landscape and in particular the structural changes that influence the sector, the print-versuselectronic- media debate and the future of print media. The influence of new technologies and management concepts on the graphic arts and media sector has also been investigated, as has the role and the importance of people in new societal and industrial settings as well as new ways of managing and developing people in changing media environments. </p><p>The primary research objective was to identify the competence requirements and characteristics for existing and potential employees in the graphic arts and media sector and, in particular, the areas of digital printing and cross-media publishing. The second objective was to elucidate the various actions and strategies established and applied for the professional development of people in the graphic arts and media sector, such as further training, recruitment policies and the evaluation and certification of competence. The third objective of the study was to suggest the formation of a strategy for the professional development of people in the graphic arts and media sector – namely the creation of a human capital development strategy. An important issue was to identify the various components (or substrategies) of the strategy and determine if it was possible to integrate them under a common platform. </p><p>The work has been based on literature studies, industry reports and observations, market analyses and forecasts, and empirical studies. Participatory research methods have also been used. In addition, case-study research has been performed at the company and sector levels. Human resource management and development concepts have been surveyed to determine whether they are efficient for the professional development of people in the entire spectrum of an industry sector. </p><p>The graphic arts and media sector – including print media – will remain active for the foreseeable future; however, the results presented here show that the sector has been significantly influenced by structural changes that have taken place over the last decade, affecting organizations, companies and people involved in the sector, and this process of change will continue. </p><p>The study shows that there is indeed a need for new competence in people employed in or to be recruited to the graphic arts and media sector. The initial identification and description of the competences for the new structure of the graphic arts and media industry is proposed. Various actions for the development of people in the sector, mainly regarding education, further and continuous learning, and recruitment, are also identified. However, these activities have been established mainly at the national level by various organizations (educational institutes, industrial partners and the governmental/European Union authorities). </p><p>Finally, the principal characteristics of a human capital development strategy are described, and components (or substrategies) that form a strategy that could be introduced for the graphic arts and media sector in Europe are proposed. </p><p><b>Keywords: </b>Graphic arts and media sector, digital printing, cross-media publishing, human capital, intellectual capital, human resource management and development, human capital development strategy.</p>

The influence of Social Media : A Qualitative Study Researching if Social Media has an influence on Women between the ages of 18 - 25

Quiroga, Sofia January 2017 (has links)
The aim of the research was to study if social media usage had any influence on women between the ages of 18 – 25. The research questions answered were: How does Social Media influence young women? How do young women perceive their usage of SM related to their interaction with people? The study was qualitative and made five deep one-on-one interviews, held with semi-structured questions and used convenience sampling. The literature consisted of five articles related to the topic and the theoretical framework used was the social constructionist theory and the top-down, bottom-up factors theory. The results found in the study were that these women were influenced by SM on how they look upon their bodies. Further, news and companies influence the participants through SM in negative manners, but at the same time they experience SM as a great tool of communication. Thematic analysis was used when analysing.

Musiklektionens fem första minuter : En observationsstudie över tre pedagogers inledning på musiklektionen

Rask, Martin January 2017 (has links)
In this paper, it was examined how three educators, working in the same musicproficientschool, with varied long experience in the profession, used the lesson's firstfive minutes to capture the focus of the student group. The survey was an unstructuredobservation study, where the observer filmed all three educators, on ten occasions each. The observer was non-participating and was previously known to all student groupsand educators. The material has been analysed from a social psychological perspective and has had the following questions as a starting point: Is there individual contact between the pedagogues and students before the lesson has begun? Where is the pedagogue placed in the room when the start of the lesson is initiated? How do they stand physically? What methods does the pedagogue use to get the student group intofocus? What does the educators say when the group is focusing? The result indicates a variety of methods between the three educators, where their different professional experience showed, but not in a way that affected the quality of the education. Clear structure varied with creative variation to capture the student´s attention during the firstfive minutes of the lesson.
