Uppdrag arbetslagsledare : En kvantitativ studie om arbetslagsledares ledarskap. / Mission team leader : A quantitative study about team leaders' leadership.

Andersson, Marika January 2018 (has links)
There is a lot of knowledge today about factors that lead to increased results for the students. Nevertheless, in Sweden, we still have a high proportion of students who do not reach secondary competence in grade 9. At the school where I am principal, an analysis was conducted in the autumn term 2016 for a collaboration project with the Swedish National Agency for Education. The result of this analysis shows how the team leaders are an unutilized resource, whose mission has become more about mediate information from the principal to the team and conducting team meetings, than to lead school development processes.  In view of this, I ask the following questions:  1)    Which leaderships do team leaders practise in different situations? 2)    How can team leaders view for their own mission understands? 3)    In what way do different background variables affect the way the team leader practise her leadership?  A number of hypotheses are set up in purpose to try to answer these questions and data collection is done by sending questionnaires to team leaders in various elementary schools. The background variables tested are: gender, time at workplace, time as team leader, how the assignment is assigned, the size of the team, first teacher or not, and what head of school the respondent has.  The respondents reads six different scenarios and then take a stand in different action options, based on the theories of four different leaderships: abdicated leadership, authoritative leadership, communicative leadership, and ethical leadership. There is also a fifth option where the respondent is given the opportunity an alternative of her own.  The result of the survey shows that the leadershipstyle that team leaders, regardless of  background, choose to the highest degree is the ethical-communicative. Except in scenario 1 which is about managing a case where a colleague does not comply with the norms and values of the school. An analysis of the result also shows that there must be a clear mission statement with a clear mandate that should be known by everyone. This will create greater prerequisites for the team leader to lead the necessary processes towards increased goal achievement.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Final Dissertation.pdf: 3050091 bytes, checksum: 096637b86d5b21e976b83c96eeafeda3 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2015-10-28 / This research aimed to apply the sociometric theory and its methodology to create an integrated multicultural work team. The study focused on the application of the sociometry theory, developed by Jacob L. Moreno in 1934, to analyze the small multicultural group. In the beginning, a review of the literature was done to have a better understanding of Sociometric Theory as well as the modern tools and software developed to analyze and map the social networks. After this part of the study, the qualitative study was done, in which 26 students from 12 countries, which studied together in a Corporate International Master (2014-2015), developed by Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, Corporate Master of Business Administration from ESADE Business School and FGV/EBAPE, were surveyed and asked them to choose people, among the selected group, who they attracted, rejected or they were neutral towards, in 4 different scenarios: work team, leadership, trip (leisure time) and personal problem. Additionally, there were, two questions asked about how they felt when they answered the survey and which question(s) was/were difficult to answer and why. The focus on these two questions was to understand the emotional state of the respondents when they answered the survey and related this emotional state to the Sociometric Theory. The sociometric matrix, using Microsoft Excel, was created using the answers and the total of the positive, negative and neutral choices were analyzed for each scenario as well as the mutualities and incongruences of the choices. Furthermore, the software Kumu was used to analyze the connections between the people in the selected group using three metrics: size, degree centrality and indegree. Also Kumu was used to draw the social maps or sociometric maps. Using the relationship level analyses of the sociometric matrix and maps, it was possible to create an integrated multicultural work team. In the end, the results obtained suggest that it is possible to apply the sociometric methodology to study the relationships inside companies, project teams and work teams and identify the best work team based on the interrelationship between the people as well as the lack of communication among the team members, project team or inside the company as a whole.

Multidisciplinary Residency in Health Care is a training activity in service and has the concept of interdisciplinarity as one of its pillars. Considering the pertinence of the matter and its implications not only on theory development, but also on the design of multidisciplinary practices in health care, the present research aims to understand the profile of the multiprofessional residents interviewed, their perceptions about the different forms of team performance in the field of health, focusing on the interdisciplinarity in Multiprofessional Residency Programs in Health Care, as well as their expectations and factors that favored and hindered the efficacy of their practices. The qualitative methodological approach will be used for the study, in which there will be individual interviews with 29 multidisciplinary residents in service at two federal universities in the state of Minas Gerais. Bardin's Content Analysis (2016) will be used for data analysis. Upon analyzing the results, it was observed that there are significant difficulties among the residents participating in the study in the differentiation between the types of teamwork in health, especially with regard to the terms “multiprofessionality” and “interdisciplinarity,” as seen from the degree of interaction between the disciplines, without a well-defined distinction between them. In addition, it was observed that for most residents, the PRMS provided interdisciplinarity only at specific times, which depended more on the personal research of the residents, the relationships established with the service professionals, as well as the dependence of logic used in each field of allocated activities. The primary difficulties encountered for interdisciplinary teamwork to be effective were individual, professional, and organizational training.

Vliv genderově homogenního prostředí na pracovní vztahy / The influence of gender-homogeneous environment for labor relations

Adornová, Veronika January 2011 (has links)
The subject of my thesis is to analyze the impact of gender-homogeneous teams, both female and male, on the formation of labor relations and working environment in general. In the theoretical section, I focus on three main themes: Men and women in society, Influence of gender on the organization and Gender and the labor market. The research is based on the results of my two surveys, one was conducted in predominantly female work team and the second in a predominantly male work team. In my thesis, I discovered that the reality versus theory differ in some areas, especially in a positive sense. Slowly disappears trend when women returning from maternity leave have been disadvantaged by this fact. My thesis also refuted the assumption that men are more preferred as a superiors, than women. Women in managerial positions are able stand up and play as good as men. My thesis also did not confirmed that women are in fulfilling of work assignments less independent. Employees representing the minority in homogeneous work team in terms of gender, are not exposed to negative influences, as described in the theoretical part of my thesis.

The impact of mission-directed work teams on job satisfaction of employees

Vermeulen, Cobie 12 July 2010 (has links)
A company’s success is predominantly measured by how well it does financially. Management and shareholders are interested in increased production and profits. In order to increase the profit margin, the issue of productivity needs to be addressed. Research had shown that there is a correlation between job satisfaction and productivity (Clark, 2003:1; Javed, Maqsood&Durrani, 2004:7; Syptak, Marsland&Ulmer, 1999:26). Sugarbird, a division of Pioneer Foods Pty (Ltd), one of South Africa’s leading food manufacturers, has embarked on integrating the Mission-Directed Work Team programme (MDWT programme) into Sugarbird’s daily operating activities. This programme focuses on the development and establishment of meaningful practices that can be implemented throughout an organization in order to provide management and employees with the skills to benchmark themselves against world-best practices. As the basis of this study the researcher had chosen applied research, with the aim to evaluate the impact of the MDWT programme on job satisfaction at Sugarbird and to answer the following research question: “Does the MDWT programme have a positive impact on job satisfaction?” The population considered in this study was the 100 ground-level workers at Sugarbird. On the day and time the questionnaire was administered, 79 employees (23 males and 55 females) were present on site and were included in the study. Before the MDWT programme was launched in April 2007, an internal climate survey was conducted which indicated that employees experienced low levels of job satisfaction and that communication, transparency, decision-making and acknowledgement were issues that needed to be addressed. For the purpose of this study a questionnaire was designed to determine whether the MDWT programme had an impact on these variables. The results of the study indicated that the MDWT programme does have a positive impact on job satisfaction and that employees have taken ownership of this initiative. Employees are in general satisfied with the communication strategies within Sugarbird and it is positive to note that the majority of employees trust their supervisors. The majority of employees stated that they are satisfied with the manner in which transparency at Sugarbird is dealt with. An overwhelming majority of employees think that the opinion of workers is important in decision-making regarding day-to-day activities. When focusing on general opinions of employees, a significant number of employees indicated that their opinions are not being heard. All employees are in agreement that Sugarbird has a formal incentive programme that recognises employees’ achievements and the majority of employees indicated that Sugarbird does indeed acknowledge positive inputs from employees. There is however a strong discrepancy between the acknowledgements of major- versus small accomplishments as employees are of the opinion that major accomplishments are more easily recognised. In conclusion, it could be stated that the MDWT programme do have an impact on the job satisfaction levels of employees at Sugarbird and that communication, transparency, decision-making and acknowledgement did improve due to the MDWT programme. Hierdie studie se bestudeerde populasie was die 100 grondvlakwerkers by Sugarbird. Efektivita intervence sociomapování u vybraných charakteristik pracovních týmů / The effectivity of sociomapping intervention for selected charateristics of work teams

Tetour, Vlastimil January 2019 (has links)
Diploma thesis strives to identify the effectiveness of sociomapping in relation to selected charakteristics of work groups and teams. Literature review section defines the theoretical background of group and teamwork, which is being followed by the topics of team states and processes, team communication, mental models, team climate and teamwork effectivity. The final part focuses on team interventions, ways of evaluating their effectiveness and introduces specific aspects of sociomapping. The empirical part uses quantitative research approach, which analyzes the relationship between the method of sociomapping and its effect on the frequency of team communication, shared mental models in the form of the difference between the optimal and current frequency of communication and team climate. The sociomapping intervention is expected to have an effect on team performance in the form of higher hotel rating and team performance assessment. Both values were measured before and after the intervention. It is expected, that the frequency of team communication, the difference between optimal and current frequency of communication and team climate will behave as mediators. The results showed that sociomapping intervention is positively related to hotel rating (p = 0.014), but not to team performance...

En fallstudie av ett tekniklärararbetslag / A case study of a technology teacher work team

Karlsson, Mikael January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of the study is to investigate how teachers view the content and purpose of the technical subject. This leads to questions about the purpose, implementation and opportunities of the technology subject and what is prioritized and valued. To answer the questions, I conducted a case study. I chose to do an inductive qualitative study with the help of a discussion with a technology teacher work team and a written questionnaire. I processed the information from the discussion using a thematic analysis. A thematic analysis to identify, analyze and report patterns (themes) in information. I processed the survey responses by doing a classification. My answers to how technology teachers in a team view the school subject technology is simply that it varies and that teachers do as they usually do. The teachers prioritize NO substances in favor of the subject technology. But there is an ambition and expression to teach technology from the perspective of Technology as a human application.

The references on the health politics that guides this model of attendance show that the psychiatric reform is one of the main sources to understand the CAPS. This service sets a specific form of clinic historically originated from the criticism of the asylum model, and the knowledge of psychiatry. The dynamics of multidisciplinary attendance of CAPS model constitute a privileged subject of reflexion on the changes in mental health nowadays. In the context of this institutional model, the handling of the transference assumes a central role, as it does in private clinics. This should look at the fact indicated by Freud: the lack of recognition of the transference and its prevalence in a negative way in institutions. Considering this, one asks here on the consequences of such prevalence at the CAPS. One had also concluded that the perspectives of the transferencial handling in the CAPS imply, ahead of this, not only the individual care, but also the recognition of the transference before collective activities realised normally in the work team. More than a technique would be the psychoanalytical ethics that it would make possible the handling of the transference that appears immersed in the devices of the CAPS.

Tracing the impact of self-directed team learning in an air traffic control environment

Joubert, Christiaan Gerhardus 09 July 2008 (has links)
The aim of self-directed team learning initiatives is to provide a further level of defence against an eventuality by ensuring that air traffic controllers are aware of the sources of human fallibility, and by developing in the individual controllers and air traffic control teams the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will result in the successful management and containment of inadvertent error. To gain a deeper understanding of self-directed team learning, I investigated the role and contribution of self-directed team learning principles and strategies that were present in the South African Air Force air traffic control team-based work environment. This research study was directed by the following primary research questions: Does self-directed team learning impact on the air traffic control work environment, and what is the nature of self-directed team learning’s impact on the air traffic control work environment? Insights gained as a result of this study contributed to the body of research concerned with learning design, development, implementation and evaluation by self-directed teams as well as the air traffic control discipline. In this mixed-method study quantitative data collection was performed by means of a self-directed team learning questionnaire and a learning approach questionnaire, whereas qualitative data collection relied on individual interviews and focus group interviews. This study involved 25 South African Air Force air traffic controllers (from three operational air traffic control centres). The nature of self-directed team learning’s impact on the air traffic control work environment was illustrated by individual and collective (team) views and dynamics. The impact of air traffic control team performances was traced in terms of identified teamwork characteristics, activities, dynamics, performance measures and focus areas and reflective practices. Results of this study indicated that self-directed team learning offered opportunities to individuals and teams to influence air traffic control performances in an air traffic control work environment. A perceived positive relationship between self-directed team learning and air traffic control operational outputs could be traced. Lastly I concluded that self-directed learning by air traffic control teams had an impact on air traffic control operational outcomes, thus contributing towards a critical air traffic control goal – aviation safety. / Thesis (PhD (Currriculum Studies))--University of Pretoria, 2009. / Curriculum Studies / unrestricted
