Våningspåbyggnad av miljonprogrammets flerbostadshus : Simulering av energiprestanda i IDA ICE / Storey extension of the “Miljonprogrammet” apartment buildings : A study of energy performance using IDA ICEAndersson, Sara January 2016 (has links)
Under tidsperioden 1965-1974 byggdes i Sverige omkring en miljon nya bostäder, även kallat för Miljonprogrammet. Idag utgörs närmare en tredjedel av det svenska bostadsbeståndet av bostäder från denna period och många byggnader börjar uppnå sin tekniska livslängd. Sverige har efter EU-direktiv tagit fram nationella mål om en effektivare energianvändning. För att snabbare nå dessa mål kan renovering och upprustning av miljonprogrammet kombineras med våningspåbyggnad. Sverige står också inför växande bostadsbrist, likt under miljonprogrammet, samtidigt som samhället har begränsade ytor såväl i stadskärnor som i tätorter. Genom att rusta upp bostäder från miljonprogrammet i samband med en våningspåbyggnad kan nya bostäder skapas på ett resurseffektivt sätt och energiprestandan för den befintliga byggnaden förbättras. I det här projektet har energiprestandan för ett tidstypiskt flerbostadshus utvärderats och därefter jämförts mot då flerbostadshuset utrustats med en våningspåbyggnad. Projektet tilldelades ett referenshus i Nacka som efter uppbyggnad och simulering i programvaran IDA ICE resulterade i en årlig energianvändning på 197,1 kWh/m2. En våningspåbyggnad lades till på referenshuset och visade efter simulering i programvaran IDA ICE en ny årlig energianvändning på bland annat 169,7 kWh/m2. Efter projektet stod det klart att med en våningspåbyggnad kan energiprestanda för ett miljonprogramshus förbättras och i bästa fall kan en byggnad likt referenshuset gå från en energiklass G till E. Bostadsförtätning med hjälp av våningspåbyggnad är gynnsam ur många aspekter. Förutom att det sänker den totala byggnadens energianvändning skapar det också nya bostäder på ett resurseffektivt sätt. Samhället måste försöka skapa incitament för fastighetsägare till att renovera och hitta energieffektiva åtgärder för sina fastigheter. Ett sådant exempel skulle kunna vara tredimensionell fastighetsbildning vilket även är en alternativ form till att finansiera investeringar som exempelvis renoveringar. / During the years 1965-1974 around one million new housing were built in Sweden, this was also known as the “miljonprogrammet”. Today, nearly a third of the Swedish housing stock is from this particular period, and many buildings are reaching the end of their technical lifetime. After the new EU directives Sweden have decided on developing it's on national goals to achieve smart energy consumption. To speed up this development can the renovations of the existing "miljonprogrammet" executed in combination with storey extension. Sweden is also facing growing housing shortage, much like during construction of the “miljonprogrammet” as well as limited areas both in urban and densely populated areas. By refurbishing buildings from the “miljonprogrammet” in conjunction with a storey extension, new housing can be built in a resource and energy efficient way. This should also improve the energy performance of the existing building. In this project, the energy performance of an apartment building, typical from this time, was evaluated and then compared to a modified building with a storey extension. A reference house located in Nacka, Sweden was used to simulate the annual energy usage in the software IDA ICE. The simulation yielded an energy usage of 197.1 kWh/m2 for the reference building and 167.1 kWh/m2 for the building with a storey extension. After the project it became clear that a storey extension on a building from the “miljonprogrammet” improved the existing building's energy consumption. At best, a building like the reference house can improve the energy classification from energy class G to E. Residential densification using storey extension is beneficial in many aspects. In addition to lowering the total energy consumption of the building it also creates new homes in a resource efficient manner. Society must seek to create enticements for property owners to renovate and execute energy efficient measures on their properties. Energisparåtgärder i samband med påbyggnad av nya bostäder : En fallstudie av Röda längan i IDA ICE / Energy savings in connection with the extension of new housing : A case study of Röda längan in IDA ICEAndersson, Sara January 2016 (has links)
I takt med att äldre byggnader i vårt bostadsbestånd blir i allt större behov av omfattande renoveringar, skärps även våra samhällskrav ytterligare. Då gäller det i samband med renovering att finna hela åtgärdspaket som både ger energibesparing men samtidigt är ekonomiskt lönsam. I den här rapporten undersöks möjlig energibesparing men också lönsamheten av energisparåtgärder i samband med påbyggnad av nya bostäder i ett redan befintligt flerbostadshus. Byggnadens befintliga värmesystem byts ut mot bergvärme, som också verkar genom ventilationssystemet, och därefter förlängs byggnaden med tre nya våningsplan. Rapporten utvärderar även om påbyggnad av nya bostäder i det enskilda fallet ska betraktas som tillbyggnad eller ombyggnad, samt vilka krav som därefter ställs vid ändring av byggnad enligt PBL och BBR. Med hjälp av energiberäkningsprogrammet IDA ICE, kunde effekten från de olika energisparåtgärderna studeras. Värdet för den årliga energibesparingen jämfördes därefter med åtgärdernas investeringskostnad. Åtgärder ansågs lönsamma om värdet av den årliga besparingen var tillräckligt stor i förhållande till investeringskostnaden. För det enskilda fallet ger energibesparande åtgärder i samband med påbyggnad en avsevärd förbättring både ur energisynpunkt men också ekonomiskt perspektiv. Påbyggnaden beräknas initialt återbetalda i och med försäljning av bostadsrätter samtidigt som återbetalningstiden för ingreppen i den befintliga byggnaden troligen betalar sig inom 10-15 år. För det enskilda fallet var möjlig energibesparing efter genomförda åtgärder 74 procent, vilket motsvarar är en minskning med närmare 130 kWh/m2 och år jämfört med referensfallet. Rapporten fastslår att påbyggnaden ska betraktas som tillbyggnad och att fyra bergvärmepumpar är fullt tillräckliga för att både uppnå energibesparing samt uppfylla ekonomisk lönsamhet. / As older buildings in our housing stock are in increasing need of extensive renovations, it further enhances our social requirements. It is then needed alongside with renovations to find whole measures that yields energy savings which also is financially profitable. In this report, we examine the possible energy savings alongside with the profitability of the energy measures connected with extensions of new housing on top of an existing housing. The current heating system of the building is replaced with geothermal heating, which is also working through to the ventilation system. Thereafter the building is extended with three new floors. The report also evaluates if an extension of new housing in the individual case is to be seen as an extension or a reconstruction, together with the demands of which are put on an altered building in accordance to PBL and BBR. With the help of the computational energy software IDA ICE, the affect from the different energy measures could be studied. The yearly economical savings was then compared to the cost of the different measures. The measures were deemed profitable if the value of the yearly savings exceeded the initial cost. For the specific case, the measures of energy savings gave an considerable improvement for the extension, both in energy but also in the economical sense. The investment of the extensions is to be seen payed via sales of apartments, and the payback on the actions taken on the existing building is estimated to within 10 to 15 years. for the individual case the possible yearly energy savings, after completed measures, is upwards of 74 percent, which translates to 130 kWh/m2 per year. This report also states that, in specific case, extensions of new housing is to be seen as an extensions and that four geothermal heating pumps are enough to reach sufficient energy savings together with economical profitability.

La responsabilité sociale des entreprises (RSE), définie comme l’intégration volontaire des préoccupations sociales et écologiques à l’activité commerciale des entreprises et dans leurs relations avec leurs parties prenantes, est devenue le lieu d’une série d’actes et de normes de nature et aux effets divers. Incitées à développer leurs démarches sociales responsables, les entreprises se sont dotées progressivement d’instruments volontaires. Or, comme tout fait social, ces derniers sont susceptibles de donner lieu à interprétation juridique d’autant plus que les sujets sur lesquels ils portent peuvent faire l’objet d’obligations posées par la réglementation étatique. En ce sens, les actes volontaires de RSE peuvent par leur formulation recommandatoire, proclamatoire ou déclaratoire opérer un renvoi au droit positif et constituer ainsi une base informationnelle voire pédagogique de la règle de droit offrant par-là un cadre pour le suivi d’une conduite juste et raisonnée. D’autres instruments peuvent également prescrire des comportements et ainsi constituer des modes de régulation des comportements. De plus, l’intensification de la force normative de ces instruments dits volontaires s’accompagne de leviers juridiques tant contraignants qu’incitatifs favorables au développement de la RSE. Le cadre national contribue de la sorte à façonner les initiatives des entreprises en cette matière. Ce maillage juridique fait de la RSE un espace de diverses formes de régulation. D’acte d’autorégulation lorsque les règles posées sont le résultat d’une volonté unilatérale, l’instrument peut devenir un mode de mise en œuvre du droit lorsqu’il s’inscrit dans le cadre d’obligations légales. Dans cette nouvelle dynamique, il ne faut pas occulter les potentialités juridiques offertes par le droit qui au fil des décisions de justice et analyses permet de concevoir la RSE comme un standard de conduite générateur de formes de régulation et de responsabilités au sein du rapport d’emploi. / The corporate social responsibility (CSR) of major companies, defined as the voluntary integration of social and environmental concerns in both business itself and in the relationships with stakeholders, has become the site of a series of acts and standards of diverse nature and effects. Encouraged to develop social initiatives, firms have experimented with several initiatives to promote the image of social responsibility. However, with any endeavour, these are likely to demand legal assessment, especially as the subjects to which they relate are subject to state regulation. Voluntary acts of CSR can, by their recommandatory, proclamatory or declaratory formulation, refer to hard law and thus constitute an educational or informational basis of the rule of law, offering a framework for monitoring fair and rational conduct. Other standards can also prescribe behaviours and act as a form of control. Moreover, the intensification of the normative force of those voluntary measures involves legal implications, both binding and inspiring CSR development. The national framework helps to shape the initiatives in this area. This legal mesh makes the CSR a space of varying regulation, including self-regulation as a result of unilateral will in light of legal obligations. In this new dynamic, one must not overshadow the legal freedom granted by the law, which, over judgment and analysis facilitates the conception of CSR as a standard of conduct, generating regulation forms and responsibilities within the employment report.

L'étape de déliantage est une étape importante et parfois critique pour le procédé Moulage par Injection des Poudres. A cet effet, des analyses thermogravimétriques (TGA) ont été réalisées pour bien comprendre les mécanismes du déliantage thermique sous atmosphère imposée (Argon). Les méthodes de Kissinger et Ozawa ont été utilisées, en se basant sur les résultats des analyses thermogravimétriques, afin d’estimer les paramètres cinétiques nécessaires pour la simulation numérique, notre modèle se propose de décrire les phénomènes physiques liés à la dégradation du polymère, le transfert de chaleur de la déformation du composant pendant le déliantage thermique.La deuxième partie de la thèse est dédiée à la compréhension des mécanismes et du comportement du fritage des composants en tungstène sous une atmosphère d’hydrogène jusqu’à une température de 1 700°C. Des appareils expérimentaux, ont été mis en place afin de constituer une base de données physiques nécessaire pour l’identification des différents paramètres. L’identification de l’ensemble des lois de comportement a été réalisée en prenant en compte les spécificités physiques des poudres utilisées. Un modèle de comportement de type thermo élasto-viscoplastique est formulé pour représenter la loi de densification par diffusion solide, puis appliqué pour les différentes tailles de poudres de tungstène. La dernière étape consiste à valider des simulations numériques avec ABAQUS pour une meilleure détermination des densités et des retraits finaux des composants injectés. / Thermal debinding is one of the most important steps In Powder Injection Moulding process. Thermogravimetric analyses (TGA) are employed to analyze the physics and kinetics of thermal debinding behaviour under argon atmosphere. The Kissinger and Ozawa method have been used to estimate the kinetic parameters from thermogravimetric experiments. To set up the numerical simulations of thermal debinding stage using finite element method, a coupled mathematical has been developed. The basic steps of the proposed model consist to solve the following sequences of coupled problems: themal degradation of binder coupled with heat transfer and deformation phenomena by finite element method using Comsol Multiphysics software.In the second part of this thesis, sintering behaviour of tungsten powders injection moulded component, under pure hydrogen atmosphere at temperature up to 1700°C. The experimental tests are used to determine the material parameters in the parameters in the viscoplastic constitutive law, which is incorporated with the identified parameters in order to simulate the final shrinkages and densities of tungsten injection moulded components during the sintering process. Comparison between the numerical simulations results and experimental ones, in term of shrinkages and sintered densities, shows a good agreement.

As a result of changes in the society, such as the increasing mobility, increasing spatial demandindgness of inhabitants and the onset of digital technologies, the architects and urbanists have been searching for new ways of urban housing developments. One of these ways is densification, i.e. an intensive use of the urban space. An intensive urban structure uses up the potential of a place to its maximum, solves several issues simultaneously and is a functional hybrid, the home of potential suburbanizers and a place of social contacts. It comes from the efforts to solve the particular issue of an over-populated, collapsing city. The aim of the thesis is to show contemporary approaches to the issue of intensive urban structures and to map out both the built and unbuilt projects. The thesis creates a system of their categorization and taxonomy. There is always a mixture of functions in play from the functional perspective. One can distinguish five categories according to the spacial conception. These categories are as follows: multiplicity, porousness, hybridity, connectivity and verticality. The public and semi-public spaces thus move to the higher levels of the city, into the city level, urban balcony or the hybrid landscape. The built projects usually tend to be impulses, in relation to the original city, to develop and revitalize the devastated city areas, brownfields, even urban sprawls. Based on the findings of this thesis, diploma and pre-diploma project assignments have been created at the architecture department at FAST VUT in Brno and the approaches to the issue have been tested in the pedagogical process. The survey in the second part of the thesis looks for the answer to the question of whether the potential inhabitants of an intensive urban structure exist, and who these people might be.

Structural Similarity: Applications to Object Recognition and ClusteringCurado, Manuel 03 September 2018 (has links)
In this thesis, we propose many developments in the context of Structural Similarity. We address both node (local) similarity and graph (global) similarity. Concerning node similarity, we focus on improving the diffusive process leading to compute this similarity (e.g. Commute Times) by means of modifying or rewiring the structure of the graph (Graph Densification), although some advances in Laplacian-based ranking are also included in this document. Graph Densification is a particular case of what we call graph rewiring, i.e. a novel field (similar to image processing) where input graphs are rewired to be better conditioned for the subsequent pattern recognition tasks (e.g. clustering). In the thesis, we contribute with an scalable an effective method driven by Dirichlet processes. We propose both a completely unsupervised and a semi-supervised approach for Dirichlet densification. We also contribute with new random walkers (Return Random Walks) that are useful structural filters as well as asymmetry detectors in directed brain networks used to make early predictions of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Graph similarity is addressed by means of designing structural information channels as a means of measuring the Mutual Information between graphs. To this end, we first embed the graphs by means of Commute Times. Commute times embeddings have good properties for Delaunay triangulations (the typical representation for Graph Matching in computer vision). This means that these embeddings can act as encoders in the channel as well as decoders (since they are invertible). Consequently, structural noise can be modelled by the deformation introduced in one of the manifolds to fit the other one. This methodology leads to a very high discriminative similarity measure, since the Mutual Information is measured on the manifolds (vectorial domain) through copulas and bypass entropy estimators. This is consistent with the methodology of decoupling the measurement of graph similarity in two steps: a) linearizing the Quadratic Assignment Problem (QAP) by means of the embedding trick, and b) measuring similarity in vector spaces. The QAP problem is also investigated in this thesis. More precisely, we analyze the behaviour of $m$-best Graph Matching methods. These methods usually start by a couple of best solutions and then expand locally the search space by excluding previous clamped variables. The next variable to clamp is usually selected randomly, but we show that this reduces the performance when structural noise arises (outliers). Alternatively, we propose several heuristics for spanning the search space and evaluate all of them, showing that they are usually better than random selection. These heuristics are particularly interesting because they exploit the structure of the affinity matrix. Efficiency is improved as well. Concerning the application domains explored in this thesis we focus on object recognition (graph similarity), clustering (rewiring), compression/decompression of graphs (links with Extremal Graph Theory), 3D shape simplification (sparsification) and early prediction of AD. / Ministerio de Economía, Industria y Competitividad (Referencia TIN2012-32839 BES-2013-064482)

Optimalizace mikrostruktury pokročilých keramických materiálů využitím konvenčních a nekonvenčních slinovacích metod / Tailoring of microstructure of advanced ceramic materials by conventional and non-conventional sintering approachesPrajzler, Vladimír January 2021 (has links)
Tato doktorská práce se zabývala mikrostrukturálním vývojem vybraných oxidových keramických materiálů během konvenčního slinování (CS), rychlého slinování (RRS), flash slinování (FS) a slinování pomocí plazmatu (SPS). S ohledem na keramiku pro strukturální aplikace byly pomocí RRS připraveny relativně velké (1 cm3), bez defektní a téměř hutné pelety oxidu hlinitého a yttriem stabilizovaného oxidu zirkoničitého (YSZ) s homogenní mikrostrukturou. RRS bylo také shledáno jako optimální metoda pro přípravu vysoce hutné bezolovnaté piezoelektrické keramiky s podobnými vlastnostmi, jako byly získány po časově a energeticky náročnějším CS. Metoda SPS dále zlepšila vlastnosti bezolovnaté piezoelektrické keramiky a produkovala plně hutné vzorky, což je dobrým předpokladem pro translucenci a z níž vyplývajícím optoelektrickým vlastnostem. Nejoptimálnějších výsledků – plné hustoty a vysokých piezoelektrických vlastností – bylo dosaženo kombinací SPS a RRS. Analýzy provedené v této studii také poukázaly na důležitost eliminace těkavých nečistot před rychlým ohřevem. Jinak totiž dochází k zachycení těchto látek ve slinuté keramice, což ve výsledku limituje její konečnou hustotu. Ukázalo se, že nízké konečné hustoty RRS YSZ jsou spojeny se zachycením zbytkového chloru pocházejícího ze syntézy prášku. Pokud byl zbytkový chlor odstraněn vysokoteplotním žíháním keramických kompaktů před zahájením RRS, byly touto metodou získány téměř plně hutné YZS vzorky. Negativní vliv zbytkového chloru na zhutnění byl viditelný také u flash slinovaných YSZ vzorků. Navíc FS YSZ často vede ke zrychlení růstu zrn v jádře vzorku, v důsledku vyšší teploty a elektrochemické redukce. Ve spektru procesních parametrů použitých v rámci této práce dokonce došlo k abnormálnímu růstu zrna (AGG). Silně bimodální distribuce velikosti zrn ukázaná v této práci nebyla dříve nalezena u flash slinutého YSZ. AGG byl vysvětlen dvěma přispívajícími faktory – relativně velkou velikostí vzorku, která vedla k lokalizaci elektrického proudu a vzniku horkých míst (z angl. hot-spots), a celkově akcelerovanou kinetikou růstu zrn v jádře vzorku způsobenou elektrochemickou redukcí.

Othering Heights : A critical urban approach to the narratives embedding the proposed Österskans development in Halmstad, SwedenStohr, Anna January 2022 (has links)
This thesis examines the proposed Österskans development in Halmstad, Sweden from the approach of critical urbanism. With a steady increase of population growth for the past decades and despite the income level of the municipality's population being above the national average - the socio-economic segregation in Halmstad is prevalent. The planned development of the Österskans area, a former node of public transport located in the city centre, would see the space refitted to house a large-scale skyscraper complex containing a hotel, an urban market, a restaurant and a rooftop bar. The development and imposed semi-privatisation of the current public place have sparked debate, and a referendum on the matter will take place at the time of the national elections in september of 2022. This study employs the method of critical discourse analysis to investigate how aspects of convivial urbanism embeds the discourse on public space in Halmstad, how the development of public places can be understood through the discourse on shared spatial qualities in the case of Österskans and what implications such qualities could have on segregation. The theoretical framework consists of theory of space and place, critical urban theory on the right to the city, uneven geographical development, the human body as accumulation strategy as well as theory on conviviality. By the examination of 13 texts as qualitatively selected representatives of the discourse, the analysis centered around on how narratives, intertextual relations and structures can be understood. In the analysis, matters of how the narratives on conviviality is positioned, how social sustainability is addressed and avoided, assumptions of who constitutes the public, market value and attractiveness, the portrayal of diversity and inclusion versus the reality of it, the feasibility of achieving togetherness and the potential harmful implications of the development are all discussed. The study concludes that while claims of conviviality clearly do feature, the narratives of the discourse overlooks crucial factors of social sustainability and leaves blind spots of how to tangibly achieve inclusivity - along with the understanding of the inside experience of the consumer being prioritized and that it could negatively impact segregation by imposing an even further further socio-spatial divide.

Microtrusses are hybrid materials composed of a three-dimensional array of struts capable of efficiently transmitting an externally applied load. The strut connectivity of microtrusses enables them to behave in a stretch-dominated fashion, allowing higher specific strength and stiffness values to be reached than conventional metal foams. While much attention has been given to the optimization of microtruss architectures, little attention has been given to the strengthening mechanisms inside the materials that make up this architecture. This thesis examines strengthening mechanisms in aluminum alloy and copper alloy microtruss systems with and without a reinforcing structural coating. C11000 microtrusses were stretch-bend fabricated for the first time; varying internal truss angles were selected in order to study the accumulating effects of plastic deformation and it was found that the mechanical performance was significantly enhanced in the presence of work hardening with the peak strength increasing by a factor of three. The C11000 microtrusses could also be significantly reinforced with sleeves of electrodeposited nanocrystalline Ni-53wt%Fe. It was found that the strength increase from work hardening and electrodeposition were additive over the range of structures considered. The AA2024 system allowed the contribution of work hardening, precipitation hardening, and hard anodizing to be considered as interacting strengthening mechanisms. Because of the lower formability of AA2024 compared to C11000, several different perforation geometries in the starting sheet were considered in order to more effectively distribute the plastic strain during stretch-bend fabrication. A T8 condition was selected over a T6 condition because it was shown that the plastic deformation induced during the final step was sufficient to enhance precipitation kinetics allowing higher strengths to be reached, while at the same time eliminating one annealing treatment. When hard anodizing treatments were conducted on O-temper and T8 temper AA2024 truss cores, the strength increase was different for different architectures, but was nearly the same for the two parent material tempers. Finally, the question of how much microtruss strengthening can be obtained for a given amount of parent metal strengthening was addressed by examining the interaction of material and geometric parameters in a model system.

A T8 condition was selected over a T6 condition because it was shown that the plastic deformation induced during the final step was sufficient to enhance precipitation kinetics allowing higher strengths to be reached, while at the same time eliminating one annealing treatment. When hard anodizing treatments were conducted on O-temper and T8 temper AA2024 truss cores, the strength increase was different for different architectures, but was nearly the same for the two parent material tempers. Finally, the question of how much microtruss strengthening can be obtained for a given amount of parent metal strengthening was addressed by examining the interaction of material and geometric parameters in a model system.
