Digitala lärospel – Ett lärarperspektiv : En kvalitativ studie gällande grundskolelärares syn på digitala lärospel som pedagogiskt verktyg i matematikundervisningen / Digital learning games – A teacher’s perspective : A qualitative study about primary school teachers’ thoughts of digital learning games, as a pedagogical tool in mathematics education

Nilsson, Erik January 2020 (has links)
Today we live in a digitized society, where computer games are a part of most people’s lives. Technology’s constant change, together with the large number of children who play computer games, have led to many new opportunities to integrate digital learning games in today’s mathematics education. This study aimed at increasing knowledge about which factors influence teachers’ choices to implement, or not to implement, digital learning games in their mathematics education for grades 4-6. The study also aimed at investigating teachers’ experiences of how digital learning games affect student learning. In order to answer these questions, qualitative interviews have been conducted with eleven mathematics teachers who are teaching grades 4-6. The results of the interviews have further been analyzed with the theoretical framework RAT, as well as from a sociocultural point of view. The result show that digital learning games are common in today’s mathematics education, and that teachers frequently use the games in order to vary teaching and increase student motivation. The results also show that teachers consider a teacher’s level of activity as an influencing factor for whether or not digital learning games can facilitate the student learning process. Despite teachers’ frequent use of digital learning games, the results show that many feel they lack sufficient digital skills, which almost all of them want to improve.

Barczik, Kristina, Jung, Nicole, Stiel, Janina 11 March 2022 (has links)

Malmquist, Christopher, Grönroos, Richard January 2020 (has links)
As new technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) are introduced and used within organizations, the need for digital skills is increasing. However, organizations do not always prioritize the necessary skills development, which means that employees do not have time to adapt to the progress of digitalization, which can thus lead to the organization becoming dependent on external expertise. The study examines how the use of RPA can change an organization's competence needs. This study therefore aims to contribute in-depth knowledge of the competencies required by organizations to be able to use RPA successfully. Furthermore, this study was conducted through a qualitative method approach and thus semistructured interviews were conducted with respondents who have experience of using RPA. The study shows that there is an increased demand for two areas of expertise in organizations using RPA. These are: (1) Digital skills and (2) Human abilities. The study also shows that the new roles that are emerging have differences in the need for skills. Finally, the study shows that management support is important to achieve internal competence and that employees should be able to use RPA successfully. The study has resulted in recommendations that organizations who are using or are considering using RPA can relate to achieve successful use of RPA.

Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Finance Technology are influencing firms to adopt the DigitalTransformation strategy to achieve their long terms goals and remain competitive. Thistransformation is driving an evolution in the way of working in Supply and Finance units andcreating an emerging demand to implicate digital skills and consider them as core competenciesneeded for the workforces in those units. Management takes a vital role in supporting theemployees to upgrade their digital skills and providing them with a culture that facilitates theirefforts throughout this shifting journey. Middle-aged groups of the workforce make a majorcontribution to the labour market, and they are likely to have a higher digital skills gap thanyounger groups. This requires firms to put more focus on upskilling and enhancing the digitalskills of this group to enable successful adoption of the increased interaction with technology.During the upskilling of digital skills processes, the experience of the workforce may includechallenges. It is important for the leaders and human resources to understand the mindsets ofthose employees and their challenges to consider when revising the digital skills learninginitiatives. Thus, this master thesis examines the mindset and challenges of supply and finance employeesfrom the middle-age group of the workforce during digital skills upskilling programs driven byDT. Additionally, based on the finding to develop a framework that can help firms wheninitiating digital skills upskilling programs. For this, an interpretive qualitative study wasconducted. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews and Lichtman 3 Csthematic analysis was used and generated five concepts. Those concepts represent the findingsof the master’s thesis research and are interpreted and discussed with the help of the theoreticalframework of the double-loop learning method of Organizational learning Theory for Argyrisand Schön (1997). The research findings show the scoped group embraces digital transformation and has anopen mindset to change and the ability to contribute, but they also face challenges that are:Incentive and Recognition, Organizational Communication, Working and Learning inparallel, Customized learning programs. Based on the identified challenges, a framework wasdeveloped to support human resources and supply and finance leaders to consider duringupskilling of digital skills programs, to provide a better experience for the digital onboardingof the workforces during DT. This study contributes to the existing knowledge of theinformatics research field. The practical contribution is to help organizations, and humanresources, in improving the digital skills upskilling programs and frameworks, additionally toorganizational learning.

Digital Competencies and Data Literacy in Digital Transformations : Experience from the Technology Consultants

Nordström, Fanny, Järvelä, Claudia January 2021 (has links)
The digital revolution is challenging both individuals and organizations to be more comfortable using various digital technologies. Digital technologies enable and generate high amounts of data, but people are not very good at interpreting or making sense of it. This study aimed to explore the role of digital competencies and data literacy in digital transformations and identify the consequences the lack of digital competencies and data literacy can cause within digital transformation projects. The authors studied technology consultants' perspectives with experience in digital transformation projects using an exploratory qualitative research design building on the empirical data gathered from semi-structured interviews. The authors were able to identify that the technology consultants perceived digital competencies as crucial skills for individuals to possess in digital transformations. At the same time, data literacy was not considered a crucial skill in the context of digital transformations. Regarding the consequences of a digital skills gap, the technology consultants saw issues within the implementation of the project, delays, or indirect waste of resources like monetary assets.

Digitala verktyg och kompetensutveckling i matematikundervisning : En kvalitativ studie om lågstadielärares användning av digitala verktyg och deras uppfattningar om kompetensutveckling i förhållande till den reviderade kursplanen i matematik / Digital tools and professional development in mathematics education : A qualitative study of the use of digital tools in teaching mathematics, and teachers' professional development in relation to the revised syllabus in mathematics

Brottsjö, Sofia January 2018 (has links)
Our society is constantly changing. At the beginning of the last century there was industrialization that accounted for the great change, today it is digitization. As part of increased digitalization in schools, the curriculum has been revised to clarify the school's mission in strengthening students' digital skills. The purpose of this study was to investigate how teachers use digital tools today in mathematics education and what perceptions exist about the need for skills development to teach, based on the revised curriculum. In order to answer the purpose of the study, qualitative interviews have been conducted, with ten teachers from three schools. The result shows that all teachers today use digital tools in mathematics teaching and that they mainly use digital tools to vary teaching and increase student motivation. Furthermore, the result shows that the most common areas of use for digital tools in mathematics education are at digital reviews, for skills training, for deepening and for personalization. Although all teachers today use digital tools, the result shows that among the majority of teachers there is an uncertainty and skills development need, to feel safe in teaching based on the revised curriculum. Digitaliseringens implementering i svenskundervisningen

Lärka, Marie, Östlin, Marlene January 2021 (has links)
Digital tools are a concept that is widely known but can mean different things to differentpeople. The curriculum's revision in 2017 regarding digital tools forms the basis for thiswork. The purpose of this study is to find out what the availability of digital tools lookslike, how the concept of digital tools can be interpreted and whether digitalisation hasbeen implemented in teaching. Through this study, we hope to contribute to increasedknowledge and understanding of the importance of digitalisation in schools and the usesof digital tools. The methods used are thematic analysis method for analysis of theCurriculum syllabus on the subject of Swedish and semi-structured interview conductedwith six teachers at six different schools distributed within and outside the city centre ofthe same municipality. The results show that the informants' interpretation of the conceptof digital fabric is both in accordance with the Swedish National Agency for Education'sexplanation of the concept and that one thinks of only hardware or software. In addition, the results show that even before the revision of the Curriculum, the informants have tosome extent implemented digital tools in teaching, but how much depends on what theschool's digitalisation plan looks like. Furthermore, the results show that access to thedigital tools controls how much and for what purpose the informants use them in teaching. In addition, the results show that there is no difference in access to digital tools dependingon whether schools are within or outside the city centre.
