Mestská zeleň a inštitucionálny rámec jej zabezpečovania / Urban green spaces and its institutional framework

Sukupová, Kristína January 2012 (has links)
The thesis Urban green spaces and its institutional framework attempts to analyze different cases of urban green spaces foundation and administration in which various public and private entities act. Based on these foundations it tries to come with an overview of the most important forms of provision of greenery in cities. Through research of available literature we came to the understanding that greenery in urban environments is not just a result of municipal service provided by a public authority but to its foundation, administration, financing and maintenance contribute also other entities. The overview created in the thesis is not exhaustive but can serve as an inspiration for various subjects at a time when local public authorities do not have sufficient resources to ensure satisfactory range and quality of public green.

Den ekologiska utvecklingen på Västra hamnen i Malmö / The ecological development at West harbor in Malmö

Quach, Frank January 2021 (has links)
Abstract In this essay, it is investigated whether West Harbour, in Malmö, has the greenery to fulfill the goals and visions needed to be able to be said to be an ecological district today. An increasing proportion of people have moved to the city, which means major ecological challenges for the city and the ecology in general. Ecological urban planning can be a tool to curb these problems. In previous research from the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning and an essay from previous students they have looked further at what it is like to plan urban from an ecological concept in different cities. In this essay the theory from Mostafavi och Doherty (2016) which talks about planning ecologically. Diedrich (2013) writes about using tools to analyze the “site”. During the interviews, the five informants shared their knowledge of the ecological development theme at “Västra hamnen” and gave a closer insight into the property in front of the building itself and its surroundings. The four themes were compiled in this essay which concerns the need for parks, ecological development, green areas and green oases and climate change - elevated sea levels. In need of parks, it emerged that there was a shortage of parks in the Western Harbor. In ecological development, the city of Malmö wants to test a new environment at Dockan's harbor basin, the concept of park islands. Green spaces and green oases are, there are results about open spaces on the property Fören 3 - Turning Torso as it can open discussions to expand green in the physical space offered. Climate change - elevated sea levels that can challenge the future of housing and security. The assignment is about the accommodation’s future safety and current elevated sea level. The interviews and field observations gave a closer insight into what it is to visit, see, hear, feel, smell, and based on the ecological conditions, the Western Harbor is experienced with its own senses. It also gave me abstract thoughts on what it would be like to shape a place and in the physical space. From a blank sheet of paper to filling it with colors, to shape an attractive concept and design for the benefit of the public. Finally, a solution proposal will be presented in the concept of “Parc in the Water” on the West Harbour. Keywords: ecology, field observation, greenery, park, park islands, site /
Presentationen ägde rum på zoom meeting.

Samtliga publikationer närvarade på presentationen med en Powerpoint.

Facelift EDU / Facelift PDU

Růžičková, Tereza January 2020 (has links)
The theme of the diploma thesis is the solution of the pre-plant zone of the Dukovany nuclear power station. Creating a vision of how this space could develop further in the next 50 years and how it could work in a transitional phase during the construction of a new nuclear power plant unit. The subject of the thesis is the elaboration of an architectural study, which is based on an urban study. Urban study was processed within the framework of the pre-diploma thesis and solved mainly the overall problems of this area, the new transport connection, and the functional division of the whole area. The area was divided into three functional units, namely the transport zone, the administrative zone and the sports and education zone. At present, there are a lot of small structurally and functionally unsuitable buildings in this area. The diploma thesis deals with the design of new buildings with a clear functional use in the administrative zone, in the area in front of the main gatehouse. A new representative square was created, and three buildings are designed around it. The dominant feature of the whole area was a high-rise office building near the gatehouse. In front of the office building, towards the main road, the service building I was designed, which contains business and healthcare services. On the other side of the square was located the service building II, where there are technical services, such as workshops, warehouses and metrology. The last building solved within the diploma thesis is the building of sports and locker rooms of suppliers, which is designed behind the square near the greenery. New building copies mass of the only preserved building in this area, namely the building of the information centre. The designed building has a fitness centre and locker rooms of external workers of the power plant.

Attraktiviteten i de offentliga rummen : en fallstudie i Norrköping och Malmö

Tahhan, Reem, Bader Hassan, Manar January 2022 (has links)
Through history, various space theories have emerged and shaped the planning for individual cities. When planning for cities, the interplay between the public space and life within it has long been a challenge as the experience of the place is highly subjective. It is therefore almost impossible to design public spaces that everyone finds appealing. The challenge is henceforth to design rooms that as many different people as possible find appealing. The purpose of this essay has been to find out and further shed light on the basic conditions that affect the attractiveness of a public space as well as the reason behind why some rooms are used and others not. Furthermore, the purpose is to produce a proposal for development for the specially selected places, based on the knowledge obtained. The work consisted of two case studies, where four different public spaces in Norrkoping and Malmo were analyzed and observed. The work also carried out a literature study of the existing literature on the research area, the intention is to compose and interpret what previous research says about the subject. The study included books, articles, reports, municipal documents and materials. The results have shown that there are a number of different elements that affect how attractive a public space is to people, but also that some are more essential than others. The work discusses, among other things: seating, greenery, water elements and façades. It has also become known that the primary purpose is not to solely focus on creating environments with appealing furniture, but to create and furnish a place based on the very people for whom the place is intended. Without giving thought to this there will be spaces in the city that regardless of the aesthetically pleasing appearance, will not be used because it does not fulfill the people's needs. In the same way, we get rooms that, despite their simple design and furnishing, are used, above all because they meet our needs, but also because what’s most interesting for us is to know there are other people there. In conclusion planning must shift its focus to the human scale rather than different planning ideologies and ideals.

(RE)DEFINE GROWTH : How to Connect Ön and the City while Preserving, Emphasising and Intensifying the Green, Rural and Recreational Qualities

Kassberg, Anna January 2017 (has links)
Ön is an island in central Ume River. Today Ön is a rural, green place with key habitats and historical values. In 2008 the municipality took the decision to exploit it by building city there. The decision was preceded by the emerging growth target, for Umeå, to become 200,000 inhabitants in 2050. The research material for this paper consists of legal documents, reports, literature, interviews, and own observations. It can be divided into three main parts. The first part, which is the ‘growth discourse’, is investigated through documents concerning political strategies and influences from within the field in relation to Umeå as a city. The second part consists of research around the ‘image’ of Norrland and the third part focus on questions involving well-being through nature and the concept of Ecosystem Services, in relation to Ön. In this paper, I advocate for an alternative plan concerning Ön and its unique set of qualities: the rural, historical, and nature dominated atmosphere adjacent to the city of Umeå. I argue that the value of this land is greater in its natural vesture, than it would be with added asphalt and concrete. The values of concern are non-monetary, but might as well become monetary in the more long-term scenario. There is mounting evidence of benefits derived from nature, when it comes to human well-being, and further that ecosystems provide services of major importance to us. Ecosystem Services are the benefits people obtain from ecosystems. Ön possesses many of these services today. It holds potential for further cultivation and capacity to become amplified as a recreation area in central Umeå. The objective of this master thesis is to define and validate the qualities of Ön; and further, to develop a programme of possible interventions, in order to preserve and intensify the present atmosphere. This is conducted by identifying Ecosystem Services in the current context; and ways to enhance them, in order to propose an alternative plan for Ön.

Dům krátké cesty / 5-Minutes Neighbourhood

Gregorová, Stanislava January 2016 (has links)
The specified area is located in the city district Brno - Židenice, near the railway station. The theme of the thesis is the architectural study of selected part of the multifunctional intense urban structure, which was solved in the pre-diploma project. Draft uses the building site intensively, provides high plot ratio and density of population, a wide range of functions in a relatively small area is related to the elimination of transportation. By using topography the proposal creates a permeable areas, buildings with relations to the surroundings and with quality public spaces and attractive housing. Pick-up railway cancels barrier and makes a space with landscaping. Readability is achieved by linking the territory from east to west by straight streets and from north to south by passages. The development creates three centers, the commercial center of the north, center of culture in the heart of the area and the center of relaxation and sport in the south. Basic grid of development has a checkerboard plan, which reflects the grid of surrounding structure. The new development varies in its scale, from large scale buildings in the parterre decays into smaller scale. Function division is horrizontal. There are underground parking, a parterre with shops and services, a floor with offices and work study open to the courtyard and housing on the upper floors. Thus formed structure provides enough light in the courtyards and flats. The segmentation is supported by materials, bricks in the parterre contrast with the monotone plaster on the upper floors.
