There is little intrinsic stability due to the articulate l cation. In this manner, it is an articulation that is susceptible to lesions these being the result of sedentarism, excessive physical activity or biomechanics and biochemical alterations. The objective is to relate the presence of the Patellofemoral Syndrome (PFS) and the level of physical activity. The alterations generated by the pathology being studied were collected by radiology analysis and a physical evaluation of the patients. The Lysholm Scale and the International Questionnaire for Physical Activity were used respectively for the collection of knee functions and the level of physical activity. A sample of the study showed 50 individuals of both sexes, with an average age of 39.96  14.81 years. All had medical diagnosis of PFS. The incidence of the syndrome was of 2 women for 1 man.PFS does not compromise health in general of the individuals but it affects the execution of physical activities and activities of the daily life. The greater energetic expenditure observed, in the sampling, was in physical activities related to work, followed by household activities (women), exercises, sport, recreation and leisure (men) and means of transportations. It s established that practioners of physical activities have a better knee function development compared to those that do not practice. Body overweight diminishes the function of the knee. Excessive time spent seating, alterations of the biomechanical lower members and biomechanical articulations supposed to contribute to trigger the PFS off. Sobrepeso corporal reduz a função do joelho.

Franco, Laercio Claro Pereira. January 2008 (has links)
Abstract: Adventure Physical Activities are a reality today, as a result of a great development occurred mainly in the last two decades. They consist of events related to Surf, Skate, Ralis, Adventure Races, among others, experienced in several different age groups. Moreover, Adventure Physical Activities have been largely broadcast in documentaries about expeditions and eco-touristic reports involving several modalities, such as Rapel, Tirolesa, Adventure Race, Trekking and other activities called extreme sports. These activities have attracted the attention and participation of a great number of Brazilian teenagers and young adults, and they have been even competing in preference with some traditional sports in the country. It's necessary to encourage the practice of the Adventure Physical Activities also in the schools, what would mean to make closer relations with the discussions on environment conservation and sustainable development. So, the objective of this research was to list a range of activities related to the Adventure Physical Activities which can be practiced at school, pointing out the three dimensions of the content. To explore and describe these activities as a real pedagogical possibility at school, capable of being part of the common curriculum of Physical Education as a knowledge value, as much as any of the traditional contents of the area. The following themes were presented as pedagogical possibilities of adventure activities in the three dimensions of content (Procedural, Conceptive, and Behavioral): Orienteering, Trekking, or Enduro a pé, Mountain Climbing, Activities on Wheels, Adventure Physical Activities in Water. The results of the research indicate that it is possible to introduce Adventure Physical Activities in schools, that these activities are meaningful from a pedagogical standpoint, and well accepted by the school community. / Mestre

INTRODUCTION: The use of preventive tools for urinary incontinence treatment is paramount importance. In 2010, it was demonstrated that Pilates Method can get an improvement in maximal voluntary strength of the perineal muscles. The aim was to assess the prevalence of stress urinary incontinence in women who practice physical activities in gyms and evaluate which factors are associated with the prevalence of stress urinary incontinence. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A quantitative, cross-sectional, prevalence-type study was performed, assessing women who practice regular physical activity in gyms registered at the City Hall of our city. This study was conducted after approval by the Research Ethics Committee "opinion no. 131 401" (18/Oct./2012). Were drawn 20 gyms randomly and held a proportionate collection. Were eligible for the study women with greater than 18 years of age who have been working out in gyms for at least three months, with a weekly frequency greater than to twice a week for 50 minutes. To assess stress urinary incontinence was applied the International consultation on incontinence questionnaire-short form. The minimum sample size calculated was 362 women. The significance of associations was assessed with chi-square test. RESULTS: The prevalence of stress urinary incontinence was 15.2%. In logistic regression analysis, the presence of stress urinary incontinence was associated with Pilates (OR 0.39, CI 0.17 to 0.90), Jump Fit exercise (OR 2.11, CI 1.05 to 4.32), vaginal delivery (OR 1.94, CI 1.02 to 3.59) and lower back pain (OR 4.1, CI 1,90 to 8.83). CONCLUSIONS: The only protective factor associated with stress urinary incontinence was the Pilates Method. In addition, jump fit exercise, lower back pain and vaginal delivery increases the chances to have stress urinary incontinence.

Förskollärares arbete med barns fysiska aktivitet och rörelse i förskolan / Preschool teachers' work with children's physical activity and movement in preschool

Rydström, Emma, Tapper Gussman, Emelie January 2021 (has links)

Politika podpory zdraví dětí školního věku v oblasti stravování a pohybu / Health promotion policy of school-age children in the area of nutrition and physical activities

Halbichová, Iveta January 2014 (has links)
This thesis deals with the health promotion policy of school-age children in the area of nutrition and physical activities, and identifies the most serious problems related to this field of health policy. It also focuses on the main problems associated with the lifestyle of school-age children in the Czech Republic. Proper eating habits and good relationship to physical activities are formed from an early age, so it is necessary in the terms of health promotion to focus mainly on children and their education to a healthy lifestyle. This creates possibilities to achieve an overall improvement in the health status of population. To fulfill the goals of this thesis, secondary data from documents that are related to the observed problem were used together with primary data from qualitative research, which was conducted by expert interviews. School-age children in the Czech Republic do not comply with the dietary guidelines or recommendations for physical activity proccesed by WHO. A related problem is obesity, which is caused by these factors. Health promotion policy responds to these problems by projects and health promotion programmes. Inadequate infrastructure, which does not allow its national exposure, insufficient funding, staffing and lack of skilled workers in this field were identified as the...

Caractérisation des troubles de l’équilibre et effets d’un programme d’activités physiques adaptées chez les personnes âgées obèses / Characterization of balance disorders and effects of a program of adapted physical activities in obese elderly people

Maktouf, Waël 05 February 2019 (has links)
It is well recognized that obesity and aging impair individuals balance and walking abilities. These alterations are potentially associated with greater difficulty in performing activities of daily life. However, the magnitude of the effects on functional abilities of the combination of aging and obesity, as observed in obese elderly, requires further investigations. Through this thesis work, we, first of all, showed that obesity presents an additional constraint to age throughout the process of stabilization and walking in elderly. This aggravates the functional limitations in the obese elderly in activities of daily life. Then, we reported that an adapted physical activities program based on balance, muscular reinforcement and mobility exercices optimize balance and walking abilities of obese elderly in extreme situations likely by developing their neuromuscular capacities in the lower limbs.

Erfarenheter av aktivitet och delaktighet hos personer med förvärvad hjärnskada : En kvalitativ innehållsanalys av en kollektivt skriven blogg / Experiences of people with acquired brain injury regarding activity and participation : A qualitative content analysis of a collectively written blog

Arvidsson, Mia, Öman, Maria January 2023 (has links)
Background: In a global perspective, acquired brain injury is a major challenge for society in the form of costs for healthcare and rehabilitation. People with acquired brain injury need support in order to take responsibility for their own health and incorporate exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle. Aim: The aim of the study was to describe the experiences of people with acquired brain injury, with regards to activity and participation, as depicted in a collectively written blog. Methods: The material in the current study consists of collectively written blog texts written between 2017 and 2019 by people with acquired brain injury. The material included 35 blog texts and was part of a larger research study. The texts were analyzed with Malterud's Systematic Text Condensation. Results: The analysis resulted in three categories; The importance of being physical active; describes experiences of physical activity and training after brain injury and how the activities needed to be adapted to the new conditions. To exercise a little all the time in everyday life; describes the participants' way of exercising consciously in all activities included in everyday life, to exercise a little all the time. How to re-approach society; describes experiences regarding participation in the various parts of society and the importance of support from people in the same situation. Conclusions: The results indicate that physical activity, training and participation in society are important after brain injury. Furthermore it is meaningful to share experiences with, get support from and learn from other people with acquired brain injury. It is also important that community functions and environments in public spaces are available for everyone.
