An ecology of things/thinking is a textual work, a document of my thinking and the things Ihave created during my master studies in fine arts at Konstfack. As the title and word suggests‘ecology’, it is a material practice. I have called it a choreographic step entering thiseducation. With several motives and desires and with a ten-year background in dance andchoreography, the main thread has been to look into the object and installation work I havebeen doing. in which objects, clothes and larger sculptures have been ways for me tounderstand choreography not only entangled in dance but in everything. Concepts/words likehospitality, temporality and context are reoccurring topics of my inquiries, as I understand thehuman with great plastic qualities and potential. In my work I always need to consider thecontext, pre-conditions and conditions for a dance to emerge.I see the body as both reading and writing machine, we cannot only producetext, dance and objects, but we also read and write the movement in between things, the largerchoreography and the interwoven parts. Doing dance and choreography, my artistic practiceblends these notions in both making objects or exhibitions, dancing for others or myself,writing poetry and curating events. For my master studies I needed to leave the morespectacle-like parts of dance and performance out of my palette of expressions. I wanted to letthe objects and installation work have more agency, still working with choreography. Thesituation/context – Konstfack became my field of study and from where I could speak/createfrom.

Mitt examensarbete består av en nerkyld utställning och en skriftlig essä som behandlar mejans arkitektur ur ett rättviseperspektiv. / [I examensarbetet ingår utställningen "Hobby deluxe/blood web/Schengen tour":] Jag ställer ut tre målningar av syntetisk päls som är bestrukna med båtepoxy och gjutna i en vakuumpåse. Dessa visas på en svampmålad vägg. / <p>Examensarbetet består av en skriftlig del och en gestaltande del. Alternativ titel anger namnet förden gestaltande delen. </p>

Den här uppsatsen är en responshistorisk undersökning av Karin Wards skulptur Ikaros syster och dess möte med sin publik. Syftet är att förstå de starka reaktioner skulpturen väckte. De huvudsakliga frågeställningarna lyder: Hur kan de handgripliga förändringarna av verkets utseende tolkas? Vilka förväntningar på den offentliga konsten uttrycktes i debatten och bevakningen i massmedia? Undersökningen visar att responsen var häftig och omfattande: en intensiv debatt bröt ut i lokalpressen, och under åren 1978–80 hade verket en framskjuten plats i det lokala offentliga samtalet. Många irriterade sig på verket och dömde ut det som fult eller pornografiskt medan andra försvarade verket på estetiska och principiella grunder. Debatten bottnade i stort sett i två konkurrerande idéer om den offentliga konstens uppgift; Skulle ett offentligt verk behaga alla genom att gestalta ett objektivt eller konventionellt skönhetsideal, eller skulle den offentliga konsten tillåtas vara heterogen och därigenom behaga heterogena preferenser och stödja konstnärernas fria skapande? Skulpturens utseende förändrades flera gånger under den perioden, bland annat sprängdes ett hål i verket – en skada konstnären reparerade genom att omgestalta verket. Sådana handgripligheter kan tolkas som fysiska uttryck för åsikter som återfinns i den offentliga debatten om verket. Samtidigt förändrade de i sin tur verkets uttryck och betydelse.

Tony Craggs Skulpturen changieren zwischen Gegenständlichkeit und Ungegenständlichkeit. Obwohl der Körper des Künstlers in seinen gegenwärtigen Skulpturen physisch nicht mehr anwesend ist, bildet die Beziehung zwischen dem Mensch und den Dingen noch immer den wesentlichen Hintergrund von Craggs Skulpturen. Die Darstellung von Bewegung in den beiden Werkgruppen Early Forms und Rational Beings unternimmt nicht den Versuch, physische Bewegungsabläufe des menschlichen Körpers figurativ abzubilden. Vielmehr interessiert es den Künstler, verschiedene Eigenschaften von Bewegung in Form zu fassen.

Mitt arbete handlar om jorden, världen och mig själv. Om en känsla av främmandeskap inför verkligheten, och en vilja att hitta sätt att återanknyta till den. I min uppsats berättar jag om vad jag tänkt på och gjort i min process. Tänk om vår plats som människor på jorden var en annan? Tänk om vi var mindre, tänk om andra, icke-mänskliga saker var större? Eller tänk om vi var mer eller mindre än människor, eller andra saker mer människo-lika än vad vi ser? Jag har i mitt projekt velat återanknyta till mitt ”barndoms-jag” och de ”jag” som jag varit genom åren, som ett sätt att öva på perspektivskiftena och förmågan att föreställa mig alternativa verkligheter som jag haft och mist under vägen. Min metod för att praktiskt omförhandla verkligheten varit att jobba intuitivt, lekfullt, med olika aspekter av mitt barnasinne. Jag har utgått från idén om att när min perception av verkligheten varit annorlunda, som när jag var barn, har den ändå varit lika mycket verklighet som den jag uppfattar nu. Att återanknyta till den är att förändra, eller förlänga, min nuvarande verklighetsbild.

Central to this essay are fourteen poems and fourteen drawings. They formed part of the exhibition The Eye of the Mole and the Perpetual Motion, which was shown at Galleri Mejan in November 2021. The poems are meant to each lack a center, but together form a circle where the exhibition's sculptural works are at the center. Each poem includes a drawing that serves as a reference to the poem. The beginning of the essay follows the process that led to the exhibition. It describes a work process where the planning and the physical work took place in parallel and how the two parts influenced each other and shaped the exhibition. Between the materials I worked with and the intuitive work process, a connection is made to the blind spot in the field of vision, a place that is just outside one's consciousness but which is always present. The idea of ​​this place became a central part of the exhibition and the essay describes a working method for finding this place. Or at least reach as far as possible. Finally, the function of the poems is described and in what way the exhibition was installed. / The Eye of the Mole and the Perpetual Motion was my master exhibition and consisted of four sculptures made of scrap metal and textiles, fourteen poems and fourteen drawings.

Die vorliegende Monographie dokumentiert und präsentiert das vorhandene Quellenmaterial, soweit zugänglich, zum Stein- und Holzbildhauer Joseph Krautwald (1914-2003). Neben einem Werkverzeichnis zur Skulptur mit mehr als 600 Nummern, das einen Überblick über Typen und Themen aller bekannten Stücke gibt, bietet der biographisch angelegte Textteil Studien zu Leben und Werk des Künstlers. Die Arbeit schließt mit einer kunsthistorischen Einordnung und Bewertung. Dabei wird das OEuvre Krautwalds zur ("sakralen") Bildhauerei nach 1945 in Westdeutschland in Beziehung gesetzt.

Kunsthistorische Betrachtung zum sächsischen Hofbildhauer Gottfried Knöffler (1715-1779). Vorgestellt werden zwei Skulpturen aus dem Bestand der Staatlichen Schlösser, Burgen und Gärten, die Knöffler zugeschrieben werden. Am Beispiel des delphischen Apolls und eines Milon von Kroton wird ein Exkurs zur Biographie sowie den schöpferischen und künstlerischen Eigenarten des Bildhauers unternommen.

This essay tries to, in a post humanist approach, answer questions regarding the agency of materials, things and art in relation to the body; the bodily experience of art. This is also an essay about an artistic practise that has developed during three years in a context where the craft skill and knowledge about certain materials have been in focus while the artist herself has been interested in a more emotional and theoretical approach to the materials and what they do. The text is a result of what happens when those two different ways of relating to art and craft are encountered.
