As sócio-espacialidades e ressignificações das cavalgadas – Itaporanga d’Ajuda/SE

Santos, Daniele Luciano 02 April 2018 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The variation that occurred since the 1990s in the composition and structure of the cavalcade in Itaporanga d'Ajuda / SE led us to question its manifestation as a traditional and contemporary festive practice. In this context, we had the objective of analyzing the territories of the cavalcade riding in the city by the socio-spatial practices that maintain and propel them. And, as specific objectives we had: i) trace the time line of the cavalcade and their corteje; ii) apprehend the subjects and the relations undertaken for the accomplishment of the yous routes; iii) understand the socio-spatial practices of horseback riders and yours produces; iv) and ascertain the material and symbolic bases of the territories of the cavalcade. To this end, we base the territory on both power in the concrete sense and in the symbolic sense, because we are interested in ascertaining the production and maintenance of cavalcade by power relations and the interests of local political groups. The socio-spatialities of cavalcade were seized and discussed with the help of authors who emphasize the construction of social space and cultural space by organization, significance of production and appreciation of symbolic aspects. We discuss the multidimensionality of the territory by political practices, cultural and economic factors that conduct the cavalcade as a re-signification tradition and determine their territories in Itaporanga d'Ajuda. The research is of qualitative nature when electing the cavalgada phenomenon as object of study, in seeking to understand it through the socio-spatial practices that maintain it and that unfold in the territory. In addition to the bibliographic review, we adopted as methodology the documentary research in websites and newspapers and the field research using observation, conducting interviews, applying questionnaires and photographic records. We discuss and expose the representations and territories of the cavalcade as a popular feast and as a political event. The feast is apprehended as a traditional manifestation that gives meaning and value to the symbolic aspects of the villages. As a political event, although an old practice, was resignified as market practice, as "currency of exchange of political favors.". The feast and the event that takes place in the cavalcades is still distinguished, respectively, by the sense of appropriate patrimony as popular know-how and by the patrimony instituted by legal norms.

Castro Feria, Jose Manuel 15 October 2020 (has links)
The project is a bus station infrastructure in the south of the city, specifically in the district of San Juan de Miraflores, which is proposed to complement the network of bus stations in Lima Metropolitana. The proposal focuses on a project that possesses the characteristics of bus terminal standards or infrastructures of similar contemporary use, complying with all the norms and requirements established for its authorization and adequate operation. Likewise, the proposal seeks to provide wide spaces of easy visual comprehension, clearly differentiated areas and circulations and in general to emphasize the use of spatial fluidity as a main element supported by the idea of generating sufficient comfort in different spaces that come to be the result of analysis of the flows that intervene in it. On the other hand, the project, being located in an area of great commercial potential, sees the need to integrate other activities that complement and are required according to the physical and functional characteristics of the user and the place. Therefore, as part of the architectural program has been proposed to integrate a commercial hall that has small shops, coffee shops or business establishments similar to it, a business center accompanied by small banking agencies and government offices in which work and complement each other, and finally a hotel that offers all the comforts so that the passenger feels pleasure during their stay inside the building. / Tesis

This World or Another? : Mapping Modern Theologies

Janson, Jens January 2021 (has links)
In view of the complexity characterizing the contemporary discipline of academic theology, there is a need for functional models. Against the background of significant developments in twentieth-century theology, this thesis attempts to develop an analytical model which can make sense of some of the complexity characterizing this field. More specifically, the aim is to produce a model which can be used to distinguish between and relate different theological positions to each other at a meta-level. This is achieved through the elaboration of a two-dimensional typology composed of four quadrants representing distinct theological orientations. The proposed model and its analytical categories form the basis for a discussion of some key figures and themes in modern theology, with a particular emphasis on eschatologically oriented theologies. Finally, on the basis of preceding discussions, a case is made for theology’s ability to fulfill a vital cultural-critical role in a secular context.

Where the Shadows Lie : finding the other in the Spatial Depictions of the Underworld in The Book of Enoch, Inferno and Paradise Lost

Adendorff, Melissa 20 June 2013 (has links)
“Where the Shadows Lie: Finding the Other in the Spatial Depictions of the Underworld in The Book of Enoch, Inferno and Paradise Lost” answers a question of spatial behaviour in the three texts, in terms of the portrayal of the characters of Fallen Angels, who have been Othered from Heaven, in each text within the spatial context of their respective heterotopias. The spatial behaviour refers to how these characters are portrayed to act within a certain space, with that behaviour directly shaped and influenced by the space and place that the characters are depicted in. The question of spatial behaviour in this study revolves around whether the behaviour within the Othered space is that of acceptance, or of rebellion. The narrative of each text is analysed as a whole, in order to be contextualised through a Narratological analysis, as well as a Hermeneutic reading and a contextualisation within the realm of Social-Scientific Criticism. The texts are then analysed in more detail, with particular focus given to 1 Enoch 6-21, lines 1-9 and 22-57 in Inferno, and lines 33-45, 52-55, and 64-110 in Paradise Lost in order to Deconstruct their base similarities and then to answer the research question of spatial behaviour through Critical Spatiality. This analysis investigates the aspect of Thirding-as-Othering, in terms of how the Othered space is represented, and how the (Othered) Fallen Angels inhabit that space, based on the choices available to them: either, accept the imposed differentiation and division, or to resist their own “Otherness” and the Othered space that they were sentenced to. These spatial behaviours depict the choices taken by the author of each text, based on the cultural and religious values of their times and cultures, to represent the spatial behavioural options of their narratives’ characters. These options are the choice to fight against the banishment and make a space of Power out of the Othered space, or to accept being Othered and accept the Othered space for the prison it is meant to portray. This study incorporates a Narratological Analysis of The Book of Enoch, Inferno and Paradise Lost, followed by a Hermeneutical Interpretation and Social-Scientific reading. The texts are then analysed in terms of the focal points of 1 Enoch 6-21, lines 1-9 and 22-57 in Inferno, and lines 33-45, 52-55, and 64-110 in Paradise Lost, and are Deconstructed in terms of the spatial depictions of the Underworlds in order to determine the similarities in conditions, both physical and emotional, that are created by the Thirding, which is ultimately investigated, in terms of Critical Spatial Theory, in order to answer the aforementioned research question. / Dissertation (MA)--University of Pretoria, 2012. / Ancient Languages / unrestricted

JAIME MASSAGUER HIDALGO JUNIOR 11 May 2016 (has links)
[en] According to the IPCC report (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), 2004, 23 percent of greenhouse gas emissions effects related to energy were originated in the transport sector. More than half of these emissions were generated by the use of light vehicle ride and motorcycles, defined as individual motorized transport. Half of the energy consumed in the transport sector is intended for individual motorized transport. However, it is carrying less than 25 percent of the world s passengers. Despite this low number, traffic accidents are responsible for one million deaths annually and ten million injured people. This number is part of a list of the ten leading causes of death recorded and reported by health agencies around the world, a rate next to malaria and HIV. A survey conducted by the Ministry of Cities in Brazil in conjunction with the National Department (National Traffic Department) in the year of 2005 shows that the costs of traffic accidents in Brazilian roads reached the number of twenty-two billion reais, a figure that represented 12 percent of the Brazilian GDP, taking into account the loss of production associated with the death of individuals or the interruption of its activities, the costs for health care and care with vehicles.

Stinesen Ekholm, Molly January 2023 (has links)
The study is thesis is the information design program with a spatial design focus. The study investigates which spatial elements can promote social community with other students at a university. The thesis has been using methods such as physical site analysis, semi-structured interviews, workshops and A/B Testing. These methods were applied in the study to investigate what needs the students have regarding social contexts and in what way a spatial meeting place could promote a social community among the students. In combination with collected data and theories, a design proposal has been developed. This is based on what the students at Mälardalen University in Västerås find important regarding social community. The design proposal exemplifies how the design of a physical meeting place on a campus can be designed with the aim of promoting social meetings between students and enabling an area that is not in need of, for example, the student union and its staff.

Valley of connections : Networks and spatiality in the archaeological landscape of the Morello Valley in central Sicily

Tegerdal Hune, Josefine January 2022 (has links)
This thesis uses GIS and spatial analysis to study connections in the archaeological landscape of the Morello Valley, in the Enna province in Sicily (Italy). To identify potential social relations, the idea of social networks is adapted into the spatial network analysis. The spatiality of 42 sites with archaeological layers from Mid-to Late Neolithic until Medieval times are explored by looking at intervisibility, movement and accessibility. A historical map is used to reconstruct hydrology, and spatial data is accessed to include ancient paths and sulphur resources. Phenomenological methods are also used to describe the landscape and applied in GIS and spatial analysis to explore how people may have related to their environment. Local and external contacts in Sicily throughout history are reflected upon through different time scales to give context to the spatial network analysis of the Morello Valley. Furthermore, links between people and landscape are also contemplated through the notion of affordances. Throughout the thesis, the methodology of spatial analyses is being assessed. The aim is to put emphasis on the practical process of analysing landscape and spatiality through networks, while at the same time analysing the connectedness of the Morello Valley.

Roy, Coralie 03 1900 (has links)
This memoir combines a novel (Bateau brûlé [Burnt Boat]) and an essay (Poetics of Escape in Contemporary and Ecofeminist Dystopian Narratives), one inspiring the other. Bateau Brûlé: The world is always dark. Seko is fascinated by the only possible light source, but the city that sees her grow is opposed to her curiosity. There is only room for the “plufors”, cruel rulers who decide where the light goes. Through a life that eludes her and memories that are not always her own, Seko wonders if the light truly is her destiny, even as she flees on a doomed ship. Poetics of Escape in Contemporary and Ecofeminist Dystopian Narratives: This essay analyses several works, theories and pieces of research in an attempt to make them converge towards the consensus that dystopia is a feminist undertaking. A recurring tangent of ecofeminist dystopias is the theme of escape, so predominant one might even consider it poetic. In order to clarify this concept, I suggest a reading of the novel Hivernages (2017) by Maude Deschênes-Pradet focusing on the poetics of escape. Why flee, when Hivernages proves there is no refuge to reach? The corpus that interests me and that feeds my reflection and imagination explores how the flight affects both the characters’ physicality and psychology as well as the form of the narrative itself. In every case, the poetics of escape constitute a fictional and structural element that results from two distinct but intertwined causes: the narrative’s fragmented temporality and the ecofeminist ambition to oppose the toxic environment.
