Strukturelle Änderungen in dünnen amorphen Zr-Al-Ni-Cu- und Ta-Si-N-SchichtenBicker, Matthias 21 June 2000 (has links)
Mit verschiedenen experimentellen Methoden
werden die strukturabhängigen Eigenschaften amorpher Zr-Al-Ni-Cu-
und Ta-Si-N- Multikomponentenschichten untersucht. Aus Messungen
der mechanischen Spannungen in amorphen Zr-Al-Ni-Cu-Schichten
werden mit hoher Empfindlichkeit relative Volumenänderungen
bestimmt, die bei Schichtwachstum, Relaxation und Kristallisation
auftreten.

Viskosität metallischer Schmelzen und deren präzise MessungDong, Changxing 05 September 2001 (has links)
Viscosity of metallic melts and its precise measurement
This thesis reports the design and the construction of a new oscillating cup
viscometer and the viscosity investigation of several metallic systems. The
measurements were carried out with an existing viscometer by which one could
not get better vacuum than 10^(-3)mbar or higher temperature than 1430K.
With the new apparatus the best vacuum of 10^(-6)mbar and the highest temperature of 1870K can be reached. These two basic conditions permit the measurement
of systems which contain active elements such as Al, Mg and P and/or have very
hight melting points. The construction of the three-zone furnace in the new
viscometer allows the acceleration of the homogenising process, which is
especially important for monotectic systems. The influences of the temperature
of the torsion thread and the initial oscillating phase on the accuracy of
viscosity measurement were analysed and the corresponding solutions were put
forward. The investigated systems are the Zn-Pb based ternary system, the
monotectic systems Ag-Te and Li-Na, the Sb-Zn system which contains compounds
in the solid phases, the semiconducting Cd-Te alloys and the foaming materials
ZACT and ZACM.

Influence of the Melt Flow Rate on the Mechanical Properties of Polyoxymethylene (POM)Faust, Karsten, Bergmann, André, Sumpf, Jens January 2017 (has links)
In this article the correlation between the average molar mass and the melt flow rate (MFR) is achieved. Based on the example of Polyoxymethylene (POM) it is shown that a high average molar mass is associated with a low MFR (high viscosity). On the basis of this dependency, the mechanical properties of static and dynamic tensile strength, elastic modulus, hardness and notched impact strength are investigated. It was found that the characteristic values of static tensile strength, elastic modulus and hard-ness increase with increasing MFR (decreasing viscosity). On the other hand the dynamic long-term properties and notched impact strengths decrease with increasing MFR.

Tribologie von fettgeschmierten RadialwellendichtungenTeichert, Robert Josef 25 May 2023 (has links)

Variable-Density Flow Processes in Porous Media On Small, Medium and Regional ScalesWalther, Marc 03 November 2014 (has links) (PDF)
Nowadays society strongly depends on its available resources and the long term stability of the surrounding ecosystem. Numerical modelling has become a general standard for evaluating past, current or future system states for a large number of applications supporting decision makers in proper management. In order to ensure the correct representation of the investigated processes and results of a simulation, verification examples (benchmarks), that are based on observation data or analytical solutions, are utilized to evaluate the numerical modelling tool.
In many parts of the world, groundwater is an important resource for freshwater. While it is not only limited in quantity, subsurface water bodies are often in danger of contamination from various natural or anthropogenic sources. Especially in arid regions, marine saltwater intrusion poses a major threat to groundwater aquifers which mostly are the exclusive source of freshwater in these dry climates. In contrast to common numerical groundwater modelling, density-driven flow and mass transport have to be considered as vital processes in the system and in scenario simulations for fresh-saltwater interactions.
In the beginning of this thesis, the capabilities of the modelling tool OpenGeoSys are verified with selected benchmarks to represent the relevant non-linear process coupling. Afterwards, variable-density application and process studies on different scales are presented. Application studies comprehend regional groundwater modelling of a coastal aquifer system extensively used for agricultural irrigation, as well as hydro-geological model development and parametrization. In two process studies, firstly, a novel method to model gelation of a solute in porous media is developed and verified on small scale laboratory observation data, and secondly, investigations of thermohaline double-diffusive Rayleigh regimes on medium scale are carried out.
With the growing world population and, thus, increasing pressure on non-renewable resources, intelligent management strategies intensify demand for potent simulation tools and development of novel methods. In that way, this thesis highlights not only OpenGeoSys’ potential of density-dependent process modelling, but the comprehensive importance of variable-density flow and transport processes connecting, both, avant-garde scientific research, and real-world application challenges.

Physical properties of lead free solders in liquid and solid stateMhiaoui, Souad 15 April 2008 (has links) (PDF)
The European legislation prohibits the use of lead containing solders in Europe. However, lead free solders have a higher melting point (typical 20%) and their mechanical characteristics are worse. Additional problems are aging and adhesion of the solder on the electronic circuits. Thus, research activities must focus on the optimization of the properties of Sn-Ag-Cu based lead free solders chosen by the industry.
Two main objectives are treated in this work. In the center of the first one is the study of curious hysteresis effects of metallic cadmium-antimony alloys after thermal cycles by measuring electronic transport phenomena (thermoelectric power and electrical resistivity). The second objective, within the framework of “cotutelle” between the universities of Metz and of Chemnitz and supported by COST531, is to study more specifically lead free solders. A welding must well conduct electricity and well conduct and dissipate heat. In Metz, we determined the electrical conductivity, the thermoelectric power and the thermal conductivity of various lead free solders (Sn-Ag-Cu, Sn-Cu, Sn-Ag, Sn-Sb) as well in the liquid as well in the solid state. The results have been compared to classical lead-tin (Pb-Sn) solders. In Chemnitz we measured the surface tension, the interfacial tension and the density of lead free solders. We also measured the viscosity of these solders without and with additives, in particular nickel. These properties were related to the industrial problems of wettability and spreadability. Lastly, we solidified alloys under various conditions. We observed undercooling. We developed a technique of mixture of nanocristalline powder with lead free solders "to sow" the liquid bath in order to obtain "different" solids which were examined using optical and electron microscopy.
