För vems skull? : en essä om förhållningsätt, ansvarstagande och praktisk kunskap i förskolan / For whose sake : an essay about attitude, responsibility and practical knowledge in preschools

Blomster Mossberg, Elin, Blomster, Malin January 2015 (has links)
This essay explores how differences in opinion between preschools pedagogues and parents regarding a preschool’s activities can affect what is seen as an interesting and meaningful everyday experience for the children or how the children's skills and their right to participate in the decision making process can be of use. The essay is based on two real and self-experienced stories that form the basis of our reflections and following learning process. The essays purpose has not been to find one correct approach but rather to, through reflections, highlight different perspectives and how they can meet and interact. We reflect on how the different roles we assume, consciously or unconsciously, in our professional practices can affect our actions in different situations. We also reflect on how we use our practical knowledge. The aim of the essay is to examine what we, as two future preschool teachers, through writhing this text has come to believe to be important to focus on in preschools when it comes to democracy and participation, and why we believe that. By examining our own positions in the question at hand and by reflecting on how we could have done things differently, it is possible to find new, and possibly more, constructive ways to collaborate, assure quality and develop the daily running of preschools.

Camilla, Binnefors January 2015 (has links)

Tankar om pedagogrollen : en vetenskaplig essä om vad som utmärker en god pedagog i dagens förskola / Thoughts about the Teacher role : – a Scientific Essay on what Makes a Good Preschool Teacher Today

Carlsson, Anna January 2011 (has links)
In this essay I reflect on what makes a good preschool teacher today. I discuss the importance of education, the importance of experience and practical knowledge, but also the importance of capacity for self-reflection and listening. I bring up examples from my workplace, where some think more about their limitations than on what and how much they actually can. Others are more satisfied by what they can and see less of their limits. Some are also lack of the will to see differently and to do changes. We also have different perceptions of the norms and values enshrined in our childhood. What we're from, our various social, cultural and an ethnic background also plays a role in the understanding and the interpretations we make in various situations. I discuss the teacher as a profession and the importance of education, that it is not enough only with experience, it needs to be supplemented with educational and theoretical knowledge to assess, identify, weigh and deliberate well to act as needed in the present moment. Teacher is about to be. Being a good teacher in practice, have practical knowledge. I also discuss the importance of self-reflection. Without the mirror it is only a mirror image without a reflective approach. The good teacher, the more I think, the more I realize that there is no simple answer.

Planeringstid på gott och ont : En vetenskaplig essä om disponering av reflektion och planering på förskolan / Planning time for better or worse : A scientific essay on the disposition of reflection and planning at preschool

Melin, Maria, Svahn, Camilla January 2013 (has links)
In our scientific essay, we have chosen to write about the disposition of planning time at preschool. The reason we have investigated the differences regarding disposition of the planning time is that we have seen such differences, even though we work in the same municipality. Writing together in pair has given us the ability to provide a more objective or at least multi-perspectival way to highlight our issues through both dialogue and reflection. With our individual stories as a starting point, we have reflected on different concepts and theories that affect how planning time is used in practice. We have reflected on how we as prospective pre-school teachers should be sufficient for the children's group and be able to live up to the curriculum strut goals, with the pedagogical documentation and reflection that it brings. Concepts that we immerse ourselves in is practical knowledge, systems theory, communication and collaboration in teams.

Mollberger Hedqvist, Gun January 2006 (has links)
The present study belongs in the tradition of working-life research. In this tradition, the point of departure lies in working people’s experience in their occupation. Through reflection on this experience and studies in the occupational field the researcher seeks to elucidate and develop occupational knowledge and skills. As a teacher I have long been preoccupied with how teachers may develop their occupational skills. Teachers wish to promote others’ learning, but how do they themselves learn to be good teachers? In the present work I wish to elucidate how teachers can develop their occupational skills through discourse. Equally, I wish to gain a better understanding of my own professional experience as a teacher and supervisor. These two goals are interconnected. I hope to develop an insight that not only shows my dilemma in a supervision situation but also illustrates the teacher’s challenge when he or she is to develop professional skill as a supervisor. On the one hand the supervisor needs to listen with an open mind to the person being supervised; but on the other, given knowledge places so many constraints upon listening that openness becomes impossible. Can the teacher experience his or her situation in such a way that this dilemma may be avoided? To deepen and modify my answer to this question I carried out fieldwork in my own occupational field. I have studied such teachers’ accounts of their meetings with children as have emerged from two discourse situations: child conferences and group supervisions. The teachers’ discourse shows that the issue is to understand what one has experienced – understanding is the starting point for the development of occupational skill. An attitude of open listening, to oneself and in interaction with others, is a precondition for occupational skills to grow. In other words, a space for reflection is needed if understanding is to be achieved through the medium of discourse.

Hardardottir, Tinna January 2013 (has links)
This essay is about the meeting of the pedagogic mission and the reality of the conditions in preschools. It is about the frustrations that I, as a pedagogue, experience when I cannot fulfill this mission. An example of this is working when understaffed. My purpose is the acknowledgment of two main areas of the curriculum: caring and learning. This essay demonstrates the diversity of the occupation and it ’s constant need of positioning. It also emphasizes the different “cross-pressures" that exists within this profession. The starting point of the essay is taken from the publication Tillsammans är vi starkare (Together we are stronger) from Pysslingen. Several situations or examples are used together to create a scenario. This investigation raises the question whether it is possible to have an uncompromised focus on what is best for children and at the same being exposed to different “cross-pressures”. Is it reasonable to claim that the culture of the preschool should be educational, safe and pleasurable for all children, every day? Finally what responsibilities do I as a pedagogue and preschool’s principal have to make it so? My method, during this writing process, has been to use reflections. I have allowed my own thoughts, meet the thoughts of others as well as theoretical perspectives. I have been inspired by Ylva Ellneby and Christina Wallskog amongst others about their thoughts and ideas about the work in preschool. Theoretical references have been made within the areas of ethics, leadership and group dynamics. Because of the nature of this profession, that conditions change rapidly, it is difficult to find a solution to what works in every situation. However I have learnt that my practical knowledge and experience is important in combination with clear leadership.

A narrative inquiry into three Korean teachers' experiences of teaching returnee children

Hong, Young-Suk 11 1900 (has links)
The recent rapid increase in the number of Korean children who return to Korea after time spent abroad studying English raises concerns about their follow-up education and their readjustment into the Korean education system. The number of returnee children also raises concerns about how Korean teachers teach these children. This study was grounded in my realization that my experiential knowledge of learning English influenced my teaching of returnee children. Through this study, I came to understand the ways teachers’ personal practical knowledge of English is shaped through many different experiences in many different contexts in which they are, and were, situated. Teachers’ personal practical knowledge is expressed in their classroom practices. Knowledge and context are linked by the narrative concept of stories to live by (Connelly & Clandinin, 1999). The research was a narrative inquiry into three Korean teachers’ personal practical knowledge as it was expressed in their teaching practices, as it shaped their stories to live by and as it was shifted on their professional knowledge landscapes when they taught returnee children. As a result of the study, four key considerations emerged. One, each teacher’s personal practical knowledge as expressed in teaching returnee children was shaped by his experiences of learning English. Two, shifting teachers’ ‘stories to live by’ depended on their professional knowledge landscapes. Three, teachers held different understandings about curriculum making. Four, teachers held different views about returnees’ readjustment into the Korean schools. Drawing upon a concept of ‘curriculum of lives’ (Clandinin & Connelly, 1992), the key considerations from the study give important implications about in-service teacher education in terms of curriculum making for returnee children. The study suggests the importance of providing in-service teachers with an opportunity to think about a narrative perspective about curriculum making in order to suggest new possibilities for teachers, returnee children, and their parents.

Alla ska få vara med - eller?

Keskin, Maria January 2015 (has links)
The purpose of this paper is to analyze teachers approach to multilingual children's behavior in certain situations. I will also explore the educator’s attitude and approach toward the situation where children who are excluded by other peers, because of the peers use of divergent language. I choose qualitative interview as method, interviewing seven teachers working at pre-schools, with chosen choice I expect to gain insight into the teacher's reasoning behind their approach and strategy towards situations where children use other language than Swedish. The results shed light on several interesting factors that determined how the educator responded to the forth mentioned situation. The general perception at pre-schools is that multilingual children should be given space to use their native tongue, as this flourishes their language developments. We can also find basis for this when reading the official pre-school steering documents, the Swedish curriculum, Läroplanen. What this document lack though is presenting solutions how the educators can work constructively with the children. It's rather encouraged for each school to discuss their own methods and approaches as a team. My conclusion is that there is no blue print to follow for solving these situations, the educator's conduct and strategy is based on individual experience and situational. But a common thread that emerged in my research is that all educators expressed the importance to acknowledge all children and involve them in the activities regardless of language, it is the teacher’s duty to support and to be present as the children will need pedagogical support in this matter. Not to forget though, that teachers are frequently faced with situations where they have to decide whose rights to prioritize; the single child who ends up alone outside the peers group and lose his/her entitlement based on the norm "everyone should be involved" or the playing children who is doing nothing but employing their rights to speak in their mother language?

This dissertation studies the conception of the subject and the formation of the subjectivity in its relation with the subjective manifestations given by professionals of Psychology and Social Service inside the public services of social assistance. It aims to analyse how the relation subject-object has been conceived, the formation of the subjectivity and, as a result, the subjective manifestation of the individuals and families attended. In doing so, it undertakes an investigation with professional within the Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) in the town of Leopoldina (in Minas Gerais state) trying to assess the extend to which such centers work within the debate of the theoretical and practical field to comprehend the subjective requirements. This works tries to empower the theoretical and philosophical contributions of the Marxist theory for the knowledge of the subjective category, especially in the reflections of the philosopher György Lukács, in his studies of the ontology of the social being, that brings how the subjectivity objectify itself and what role the process of individualization and the human personality play.
