Previous issue date: 2015-03-16 / This work is dedicated to review the concept of semiosis in clinic, starting from the articulation of the concepts of plasticity, mental causation and semiosis in Charles Sanders Peirce's philosophy, and in neuroscience. Its development perceived the means of semiosis and its implications in therapy, especially in the mental causation issues, considering that physical states and mental states interact from semiotic processes, generating plasticity, both in cellular and cognitive levels. Were addressed, specially, the concepts of plasticity, mental causation and semiosis, articulated from Peirce's phenomenology, metaphysics and cosmology. The dialogue stablished between Peirce and neuroscience provided the magnification of the semiosis concept in clinical listening and its consequent implications in making diagnoses, since, starting from Peirce's contributions, semiosis can't be understood in a typological way, due to the fact of being an open system, an auto generated and creative network of signs, covering aspects from cells to incorporated technology, and constituting in a plastic way, continuous, in multiple interactions with innovations promoted by chance / Este trabalho dedica-se a uma revisão do conceito de semiose em clinica a partir da articulação dos conceitos de plasticidade, causação mental e semiose na filosofia de Charles Sanders Peirce e em neurociência.

Previous issue date: 2015-03-24 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / After all, how to understand the concept of presentation (Darstellung) in Walter
Benjamin? Why does he use this concept in place of the old acquaintance of philosophy,
Vorstellung (representation)? This research aims to investigate the constellation that emerges
around these issues. Benjamin argues that the concern about presentation (Darstellung) is
inherent in the philosophical text and also is the fragile element of philosophy. This weakness
stems from two factors, namely the failure of language, which despite being internally
connected to all that exists, is incapable of saying things in its fullness, and the historical and
moving character of truth, which moves away every time we try to grasp it. These two factors
block philosophy s possibility as a system, but more than that, ask for it to be a constant
exercise (Übung) of its form. Instead of denying this weakness, Benjamin proposes to
discover the fruitfulness that comes of it: the search for a productive, mimetic, relationship
with language. Philosophy thus assumes the form of a continued commitment to the
presentation of the truth, while acknowledging the impossibility of fully achieving of this
goal. This work aims to show how Benjamin performs this presentation s procedure by his
review from the Goethe s novel Elective Affinities, his "pseudotreatise" on the German
Baroque and his essay about Surrealism, and how that presentation s exercise can be
understood as an experience (Erfahrung) of the object through the practice of philosophical

Previous issue date: 2015-05-15 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This dissertation focuses on the theme of spontaneity from the phenomenological principle of unreflective consciousness in its purity and original impersonality in the works of the young Sartre. It begins trying to understand a negative contrast between spontaneity and inertia in his propaedeutic works to Being and nothingness, through the nihilated framing opposition between the two regions of Being. In its ontology, Sartrean phenomenology establishes pure spontaneity or conscious as the foundation of freedom, central concept of Existentialism. Pure or conscious spontaneity prevails over will as an important feature of the For-Itself in a deliberative organization of freedom. The principle of freedom, therefore, is emerging from a contradiction between will and spontaneity, in a predominance of the unreflective over the reflective / Esta Tese enfoca a temática da espontaneidade a partir do princípio fenomenológico da consciência irreflexiva na sua pureza e impessoalidade original nas obras do jovem Sartre.

Previous issue date: 2015-09-03 / The theory of participation developed by the dialectical science assumes the ontological meaning of the intermediate conceptually called by the ancient tradition of metaxy philosophy. In contemporary times the debate on the concept of property got an epistemological relief according to the reflections made by the philosopher and political scientist Eric Voegelin. The author s interpretation of the work scaled its ontology prioritized by the political substance of the human, which finds in the intermediate causal nexus of its participation in the other dimensions of the being (daimon, cosmos and society). After examining the mutual participation within the community of the being the thesis presents the problems of the modernity of metaxy, which highlighted in contrast with the gnosis, puts the term via historiogenesis the tension between truths. The victory of a representation of the truth culminated in a history of order, explained since the representative experiences of archaic Greek tradition as myths (Hesiod) and rites (Dionysus). The route of the investigation enhances the history, the criticism of positivism and the differences brought to light through the development of archeology, a fact that made possible the specific treatment of experiences that are retroactive to the noetic period. The hypothesis of ontological plethora of finite being is confirmed following the logic of the identical and different, unfolded into its continuities and discontinuities ranging from the evocative and transcendent character of symbols to the present intentionality in the philosophies of Anaximander and Heraclitus / A teoria da participação elaborada pela ciência dialética, pressupõe o sentido ontológico do intermediário, conceitualmente chamado pela tradição antiga da filosofia de metaxy.

Previous issue date: 2015-09-25 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This dissertation aims to discuss the metaphysical context upon which Psychology established itself as Science departing from the phenomenological method of Martin Heidegger such as laid down, mainly, in Being and Time. The dissertation also aims at presenting how this method suspends, from the human being, the definition of subject imposed onto it all along the History of Philosophy. Ever since Plato and Aristotle, Philosophy veils the question concerning the sense of being . Ever since, Philosophy and Metaphysics are mingled in the attempt to represent determinate regions of entities. Further on, French philosopher René Descartes, while attempting to set down safe paths for Science, drives even farther away the originary foundation later unfolded by Heidegger. In such a scientific context one attributes to the human being the determination of subject, as that which is capable of knowing, in opposition to the object, that is, to all the other entities which do not possess reason as a peculiar characteristic. Psychology raises itself as Science departing from such a presupposition, conceiving consciousness as its object of study. But when Heidegger describes the mode-of-being of the human being as Dasein, he allows that it no longer be defined as subject, but rather as an entity which exists and that arouses a large array of interests in the psychological field. This dissertation, therefore, is divided in three chapters: the first intends to show the metaphysical and scientific contexts upon which Psychology comes to be established; the second presents Heidegger s phenomenological method and his description of the mode-of-being of Dasein; the third, in conclusion, points out to possible contributions of Heidegger s thinking to the sphere of Psychology / O presente trabalho tem como objetivo discutir o contexto metafísico sobre o qual a Psicologia edificou-se como Ciência a partir do método fenomenológico de Martin Heidegger, apresentado principalmente em sua obra Ser e tempo, e como esse método suspende do ser humano a definição de sujeito que lhe foi imposta ao longo da História da Filosofia.

Previous issue date: 2015-11-03 / The katharsis concept exposed in Plato s Fédon was absorbed and incorporated to Epictetus desire exercise. As katharsis was moved from its place of origin to Epictetus s spiritual exercise, it suffered transformations to adapt to the zenonian rule of life conduct.
Epictetus strongly believes that to live in conformity with nature one needs to put a lot of effort towards the separation of body and soul. So that, to him, only the men who possesses freedom acquires, at the same time, the ability to accept life as it is, becoming capacitated to receive with complete indifference whatever may destiny bring.
To Epictetus the abolition of all soul s enslavement starts with the separation of ours and someone else s and completes itself with the comprehension that someone else s is nothing to us / A noção de katharsis exposta no Fédon de Platão foi absorvida e incorporada à ascese do desejo epictetiana.

Previous issue date: 2015-12-10 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The Letter to D'Alembert Jean-Jacques Rousseau written in the second half of the eighteenth century is an important text on the theater. The objective of this paper is to show the contradictions that according to Rousseau exists in the proposed D'Alembert to install a comedy theater in Rousseau's homeland, namely Geneva. The main contradiction to Rousseau existing in this proposal is the argument of D'Alembert as to whether this theater modeled on French power tune the habits and customs of the Genevan people, since their habits and customs are so different. For the comedy theater proposed to Geneva could tune the habits and customs of the Genevan citizens the reason would have to have effective effects on shows that were presented there, but according to Rousseau it does not. Considering that, for Rousseau the man to change their natural state to the welfare state has been corrupted, you can not tune the habits and customs of a people through imitative and performing arts as it tries to sustain D'Alembert, moreover, Paris to see Rousseau is a great degenerate and depraved city, Geneva in turn, is a small town that still preserves the moderate customs and where the people are quiet. Thus, Rousseau says it is not possible to be silent before such an event / A Carta a D Alembert de Jean-Jacques Rousseau escrita na segunda metade do século XVIII é um importante texto sobre o teatro.

Previous issue date: 2006-06-22 / The innovative and provocative Machiavelli lures us toward dianoésis and
the practice of logos. Gradually, the study aims to show the objective rationality of this
philosopher who favored freedom of political action over the pragmatism of
individual men as the only way to establish public political power and foster concepts
of freedom in the political realm. The word freedoms appears in the Discorsi as the
beginning and end of all politics in the republican form of government and, by
extension, guarantees the continuation of the regime itself. The basis of freedom is
when, under the same constitution, the Prince, ruling class and the power of the
people are united, and each of the three branches checks and balances the others. 2
The constitutional recourse of contesting decisions made by any one of these three
branches by the other two is how freedom is established. In each step of this thesis, the
understanding of political freedom according to Machiavelli is based on two important
foundations. The first, discord among the ruling class and the oppressed and the
second foundation, the distancing of the idea of freedom from the humanistic one of
ideal regimes. When Discorsi is examined, the differences that make up the reference
point and, from various angles, these fundamentals, are present in the eras (Greek and
Roman) that the author reports. This is the key to understanding the Florentine
philosopher s position on the humanists, who believed that conflict paralyzed city life
and led it into decadence and consequently toward the suppression of freedom.
Basically, the Machiavellian thesis can be summed up as: if in each city there were
always two opposing factions, two humors, two contrary and opposite forces, one the
optimized desire to dominate the people, and the other, the desire of the people to
not be dominated, the duty of the legislator is to understand the logic of the situation:
not to extinguish one humor on behalf of the other, but to confer on both appropriate
access to public space and the whole of society and government. This is the guarantee
of freedom. Although the topics addressed in this study vary, there is a concern to
unify: that true political freedom should oppose submission of the common good to
private interests, as demonstrated by the defender of freedom / Inovador e instigante, Maquiavel nos convida a dianoésis e ao exercício do
logos. Aos poucos, a possibilidade do resultado do estudo será reconhecer a
liberdade.
