O construcionismo social no contexto da estratégia saúde da família: articulando saberes e práticas / Constructionism in the contexto of Family Health Program: articulating knowledges and practices

Celiane Camargo Borges 09 August 2007 (has links)
This research brings epistemological and methodological reflections aiming to contribute to new knowledges in Healthcare, in the field of the Primary Care, problematizing the object-subject dichotomy and the monovocal discourse of knowledge and true. I propose an approach to the post-modern scientific discourse of social constructionism with the contemporary discourse of Health in the field of Primary Care, specifically in the Family Healthcare Program (ESF). Social constructionism has been described as a relational theory, in a perspective which focus the constructed, situated and relational character of knowledge. It points to the multiplicity of dialogues, concerning to what happen among people in their encounters and how do they make meaning in these interactions. The Family Healthcare Program s discourse has also in its premises the relational, contextual and constructed character in the production of the practices Thus, the objective is to construct articulations between these two discourses, pointing to the utility of this articulation. Social constructionism is proposed as a useful theoretical-practical tool contributing to the operationalization of the premises of the Program, which include: coresponsibility, sensibility to the local context, sensibility to multiplicity and sensitivity to the diversity of the social actors involved. Empirically, it is about the analysis of a hypertension group which gathers weekly in a Family Healthcare Center placed in the city of Ribeirão Preto-SP- Brazil. The concept of Relational Responsibility is used as an analytic resource, contributing with the construction of collaborative and co-responsible interventions in health. For the data collection I used the registration of the group written in the historical record; my participation in the group and the recording during the first semester of 2005; and the group diary. The analysis consisted of the transcriptions of the group conversations and extensive readings of all the conversations transcribed. From this close reading, a narrative of the group was created and placed upon various axes for purposes of analysis. The three axes selected for the analysis focused to the visibility of the conversational aspects in this group and its differentiated relational context. The first axis presents the group as a space for the expression of the participants, providing the collective construction and negotiation of needs in Health; the second axis documents the group creating a link between the health center and the community, and finally the third axis represents the way in which the group created a privileged welcoming space to the participants, favoring conversations that open up new meanings and understandings in healthcare and thus make possible transformation. In this way, the analysis points to the ways in which-through conversational processes- a stance of Relational Responsibility can promote the development of talk which allows diversity, multiplicity, connection and engagement. Thus, this understanding gives centrality to dialogical practices that promote more collaborative relationships between health professionals and users. Relational Responsibility is seen as a resource of new possibilities in Health.

This is a research grounded on the assumptions of Applied Linguistics, in the interpretative qualitative approach, using the ethnographic perspective and the action research as methodological design. The unrest which led to the work rests on the question of how the practice of linguistic analysis, understood as routing that goes beyond the work with the grammar rules, can contribute to the process of production and rewriting texts in the classroom. In order to answer this question, the goal is to investigate the contributions of work and linguistic analysis to the process of production and rewriting texts, focusing on a group of 7th grade of elementary school. Investigative cut takes the text, organized a speech genre as a starting point and guiding element of the teaching of Portuguese Language. The theoretical framework that I use bolsters on the Dialogic Discourse Analysis and the sociological method of approach to genres as Bakhtin/Voloshinov (2004 [1929]) and Bakhtin (2011 [1979]). Also, turn to sources that give the linguistic analysis of practices, production and textual rewriting a dialogical bias at work with language. Guided me in this theoretical orientation and in the context of the classroom, I realized results that indicate the need for partnership between all discursive practices that organize the teaching of Portuguese. With respect to focused practices (linguistic analysis, writing, rewriting), I consider that all are pervaded and subsidized by linguistic analysis, for producing and rewrite texts requires arguably the analysis of linguistic and discursive elements that make up the written production.

Religions Participation and sexual-affective relationships for pentecostal adolescents

Tatiane Neme Campos Brustelo 11 December 2003 (has links)
In our daily lives we take part in different discourse communities, which are present in the dialogical processes that shape the meaning of our life experiences. Accordingly, this work aimed at understanding 1) the meanings attributed to their church experience by youths who participate in the discourse community of the Assembly of God (AG) and the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG); 2) how these adolescents are building their own selfnarratives from the meanings of their religious participation; 3) the construction of meanings attributed by these youths to their sexual-affective relationships (casual, serious dating, pre-marital sex). In order to attain these goals, and having the social constructionism as theoretical framework, 24 adolescents of both genders, between 13 and 18 years old, were interviewed; 11 of these were AG members and 13 were UCKG's. Results showed that the meanings of religious participation of those interviewed were: a way to have a social life; a way to attain a differentiated social status (as positive self-image reinforcement); a possibility to have fulfilling life projects; a way of practicing good deeds; and to be able to distinguish the path to happiness in life. These are the youths' aspirations in their religious lives and which direct them towards progressive and stable selfnarratives after joining their churches. With respect to sexual-affective relationships, it was observed that, while AG adolescent interact with different discourse communities, thereby building his own opinions about dating, the UCKG youth basically restricts his interpretations to those put forward by the church, without the possibility of having a space for reflexion and analysis. The aforementioned results brought to light the argument about the absence of public politics and institutions who offer the adolescents spaces for reflexion about their lives. Spaces where critical professional utilize successfully their techniques in order to provide new meanings and ways to change these youths' narratives.

Entre Licenciatura e Bacharelado em Educação Física: Reformas no Ensino Superior e a Constituição de Identidades dos Profissionais de Educação Física da ESEF/UFPel / Between a Teaching Degree and a Bachelor s Degree in Physical Education: Syllabus Reform in Higher Education and the Constitution of Physical Educators Identities at ESEF/UFPel

The main objective of the research was to understand whether these changes were appropriate and how they affected the syllabus and College students identities. Post-structuralist studies, mainly Foucauldian ones, were taken as references to work on concepts such as discourse, discursive practices and power-knowledge. The use of Stephen Ball s Policy Cycle Approach made the analyses address a view on educational and syllabus policies which could be understood as the result of constant conflicts in different contexts that interpenetrate and relate to each other to yield global-local effects. The investigation was carried out by discourse analyses of: official texts in educational reform that aims at students pursuing teaching and bachelor s degrees in Physical Education; the faculty involved in the development of a political text in the country; and the faculty who focused on the re-contextualization of official norms in the local context of political production and of seniors who graduated at ESEF/UFPel in 2010. In this study, I have defended that the Syllabus Reform which was carried out in 2004 in Physical Education courses (CNE/CES Resolution no. 07/2004) potentized the discourse of distinction between both degrees. Thus, effective possibilities of thinking about the development and the constitution of distinct identities were created and consolidated. Even so, these identities were embedded in common discursive practices which showed performativity and managerialism as political technologies in the (self)development process. Besides, I have pointed out the weight of tradition which fits official norms without abandoning old pedagogical practices that ESEF/UFPel professors consider creative and adequate to the development processes of professionals in Physical Education. Finally, the work market is seen as an indicator and the end of professional development as well as the consolidation of studies which look at Physical Education from a biological perspective in terms of physical activity, performance and health.

Johansson, Anneli, Dahlström, Tove January 2020 (has links)
The role of the artist as a researcher is difficult to place since it’s hard to be objective while researching your creative approach as an individual. This bachelor thesis has taken the stance of the post-humanist viewpoint on the world and how we as humans act within it, especially through the eyes of the artist and our relationship to our materials. With this in mind, we developed our research question surrounding the phenomena of diffraction. Diffraction is a natural phenomena where waves of light collide and form a pattern where we can look at the effect of the differences that occur. Our understanding and take on diffraction is based on Donna Haraway’s and Karen Barad’s deep knowledge on the subject in both a philosophical and scientific way.  With diffraction as a method we experiment and document our positions and intra-actions with our artistic material as our joined partner in materializing a 3D environment within a game engine. We and our material become the research subjects to answer the question about how diffraction can become a method for artistic creation in a blend of analogue and digital art production. This journey is documented through notes and reflections from our separate perspectives and we also lay out our production cycle to display our process and which production methods are integrated where. To finish this paper, we discuss the conditions of our work and how the theme and subject of this research could be expanded upon.

The Price of Knowledge : A Study of Challenges to Change in Professional Organizations / Kunskapens pris : En studie av utmaningar vid förändring i professionella organisationer

Lokatt, Erika, Sack, Gabriel January 2013 (has links)
Stronger financial pressures are currently challenging previously unopposed ways of directing work within professional organizations, where strong groups characterized by power, prestige and autonomy play a major role. As a result of increased scrutiny of professions from the outside, resistance to change emerges in these settings. Earlier applied frameworks for understanding change mechanisms in a professional setting are however rather limited in their understanding of how change dynamically occurs. By designing a novel, more dynamic framework for organizational change, we aim in this thesis to develop an increased understanding for challenges to change initiatives in professional organizations. Through observational studies and open interviews at a Swedish hospital working with process development based on lean principles, we were able to identify the five discursive practices of “Shielding the Profession”, “Exempting Exceptions”, “Positioning Subjects”, “Casting the Other” and “Engaging” as being typical for professional organizations. By understanding the dynamics of discursive interplay, we could then explain how these practices contributed to three major challenges to change initiatives within professional organizations; “The challenge of novel concepts”, “The challenge of achieving managerial influence” and “The challenge of distance”. Our results should provide a foundation for further studies wanting to explore how change processes strategically can be managed, but could also be used as a tool for managers in professional organizations wanting to understand why change initiatives do not result in desired outcomes.

’’Materials for a Better Life’’: Strategic Minerals and the Sustainability Transition : A Study on the Strategic Framing of Cobalt & The Material-Discursive Practices of the Extractive Industry in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Dahlqvist, Gustav January 2021 (has links)
Rechargeable batteries are set to power sustainable development by 2030. In this context, the increasingly important role of certain ‘strategic minerals’ used in emerging renewable technologies has become highly topical. As the geopolitical landscape is changing as the world moves away from fossil fuels, a surge in demand for these minerals will entail an increase of production at unprecedented levels. A case in point and a focus of analysis in this thesis is the extractive sector sourcing one of the most important of transition minerals ‘cobalt’ that is predominantly mined in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Against the challenge of a secret and non-transparent mining industry, this thesis has identified and listed all operational and openly communicative Multinational Corporations (MNC’s) extracting cobalt in the DRC. By conducting a critical discourse analysis on seven different cobalt extracting MNC’s, the analysis unveils different ways in which the companies ‘frame’ cobalt as strategic. Thus, a new and relevant ‘material-discursive framework’ has been utilised to bridge the underlying discourses of these companies with their material practices relating to cobalt. By employing this theoretical framework, the findings point at three main logics of corporate narrative the MNC’s in the sample use to form and maintain their operational activities: securitisation, environmentalism and developmentalism. Central discourses within these themes point at the way in which companies seek to maintain their economic security and legitimacy in an increasingly contested industry by continuously representing themselves as central actors with the responsibility and knowledge to deliver sustainable development for local communities affected by the industry in the DRC and for the sustainability transition.

Vybrané aspekty tělesnosti v reklamních televizních spotech / Selected aspects of the production of embodiment in tv commercials

Kurucová, Natálie January 2016 (has links)
Thesis Selected aspects of the production of embodiment in tv commercials works with an assumption that some tv commercials represent specific modality of discursive mechanisms of sexual representation. This thesis applies the works of M. Foucault and P. Bourdieu to semiotic analysis of chosen advertisements. Assuming that advertisements are using body and sexual motives as one of the instruments of power to affect the target groups. Main focus of this thesis is in introduction of discursive models that are used in advertising. Goal of the theoretical part is to introduce philosophical and sociological ideas and theories relating to perception of physicality, sexuality, power relations and question of subjectivism. The thesis also shows how the role of a body was perceived in different historicals eras and how the ways of use of body and embodiment has gradually developed in terms of power affection. Goal of the practical part is to analyze and interpret the acknowledgments from theoretical part on concrete examples. The aim is, by using semiotical analysis, to reveal discursive practices in advertisements based upon used statements, also to analyze the power affection presented by physicality and sexuality. The thesis presents examples of power affection of advertisements and its specific...

Visualizing hyperobjects: a co-operative play with nature

Emelie, Mattsson January 2021 (has links)
Based on Timothy Mortons notion of hyperobject, this material-discursive practice is a cooperative play of forces and intra-active agencies between nature and the technical world. This research reflects especially a paradigmatic shift from the traditional model to one of an interrelated and performative network, in which all of the non-human entities are seen with the same existence and considered to view as operative agents. From Karen Barads agential-realistic perspective and Timothy Mortons theory of hyperobjects, this article importantly examines how to enter into advantageous relationships in a posthumanist designpurpose. What this article contributes are theories and methods that are rooted in an ethical approach to include and explore non-human actors, especially with the starting point of repositioning oneself as a designer and collaborating with the material environment for the outcome for new perspectives. The study has thereof taken its final form into a design where its operational and performative actors, non-human and human agencies, have interacted to produce an audio-reactive installation.

Vaccine development during a pandemic : A case study of an academic research group in Sweden and their vaccine(s) against SARS-CoV-2

Tarnovskaya, Anna January 2023 (has links)
This ethnographic study examines the multiple ways in which a vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 disease and infection is known in an academic research group in Sweden. This academic research group has been working to develop a vaccine since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020. Theoretically, this study builds on a grounded theory methodological approach as re-worked by medical sociologist Adele Clarke in her 2005 work “Situational analysis”, as well as on studies of immunology and microbiology within anthropology, sociology, science and technology, and philosophy of science. The findings are generated mostly through interviews with scientists of the academic research group and through participant-observation of the group’s work during September 2020-April 2021. This thesis conceptualises the vaccine being developed by the research group as not one, but multiple objects of knowledge – the vaccine is namely known both as machinic and as a loved deity. These different knowledges of vaccine are constituted through different discursive practices in vaccine development work, and by differential relations between human and non-human actors including discourses that participate in these practices. These different knowledges of vaccine also entail different perspectives on whether the vaccine being developed by the research group is a solution for protecting people from COVID-19 disease.
