Regarding this, it takes as object the religious thinkers Franz Rosenzweig, Sören A. Kierkegaard and the wise man Qohelet, of the Old Testament, whose reflections indicate the presence of angst. The hypothesis that guides this work is that, in these thinkers, this presence, due to the relationship with the transcendent, manifests itself as conceptual tension which produces knowledge. In view of this hypothesis, the intention is to discuss the possibility of building knowledge from religion itself. Angst, then, is the affection that, in these authors, indicates a tension between immanence and transcendence, realizing the human finitude and the infinite possibility, the absolute lack of meaning and the establishment of a multiplicity of meanings. It is a productive agony that serves as hard task in the search for knowledge. Giving priority to the subjectivity and the concreteness of the existence, the authors here worked make an effort to understand the human being, unique is his or her suffering. The angst as key for thinking about the human condition is born from the perception of its own aporia, discovery starting from the first inquiry about the meaning of life / Essa tese estuda a angústia como conceito filosófico religioso ao lado da importância do pensador religioso como método de compreensão da religião. Para isso, toma como objeto os pensadores religiosos Franz Rosenzweig, Sören A. Kierkegaard e o sábio Qohelet, do Antigo Testamento, cujas reflexões indicam a presença da angústia. A hipótese que norteia este trabalho é que, nesses pensadores, esta presença, devido à relação com o transcendente, manifesta-se como tensão conceitual produtora de conhecimento. Face a essa hipótese, a intenção é discutir a possibilidade de construção do conhecimento a partir da própria religião. A angústia, então, é o afeto que, nestes autores, indica uma tensão entre a imanência e transcendência, entre a constatação da finitude humana e a possibilidade infinita, entre a falta de sentido absoluta e a constatação da multiplicidade de sentidos. Uma agonia produtiva que serve de árdua tarefa na busca do conhecimento. Priorizando a subjetividade e a concretude da existência, os autores aqui trabalhados se esforçam para compreender o humano que é único em seu sofrimento. A Re-evaluation of the 'Death of God' Theology

Although the ‘death of God’ theology attracted considerable attention during the 1960s, in recent decades it has fallen into neglect. Nonetheless, the issues raised by the ‘death of God’ theology were important ones and it remains an interesting question whether the ‘death of God’ theologians were able to make substantial contributions to them. This thesis re-examines the work of the ‘death of God’ theologians. It argues that the popular view – that the ‘death of God’ theology represented a common tendency, or movement, towards atheism among certain prominent American Protestant theologians – is mistaken. Through a series of detailed studies of Thomas J.J. Altizer (chapters 3 and 4), William Hamilton (Chapter 5), Paul van Buren (Chapter 6), and Harvey Cox (Chapter 7), the thesis shows not only that the significance of the ‘death of God’ theologians has been widely misinterpreted, but that their work contains a number of features which have been under-emphasised or even overlooked. The aim of the thesis is to provide a more balanced contemporary reading of their work. The work of Altizer receives special attention and a case is made for the view that he should be read as a Protestant mystic of a peculiar sort.

Cette thèse pense la place des figures littéraires (le Cantique des cantiques, Kierkegaard, Hofmannsthal) et cinématographiques (Matador d'Almodóvar) de la séduction dans la relation entre le soi et l'autre. Elle interroge le rapport au sacré et à la transcendance que pose l'écriture de la séduction. Dans le premier chapitre, les frontières établies entre littérature et philosophie (personnage conceptuel, figure esthétique) sont interrogées à travers les figures de la séduction. À ces figures sont associées les figures de matadors, qui permettent de penser la violence extrême de la séduction et l'instant au cours duquel la conscience ne peut plus se dédoubler. Le deuxième chapitre est une réflexion, à partir des figures du maître et de l'esclave, sur le désir et la conscience de soi et de l'autre dans la séduction. Les figures tauromachiques exposent le sacrifice à l'œuvre dans la séduction. Le dialogue est ici pensé au sein de la séduction, pour saisir la place de celle-ci dans la formation de la pensée. Le troisième chapitre développe le rapport entre le soi, l'autre et le monde qu'établit la séduction. Le dandysme permet d'approcher la tension entre la matière et l'esprit que posent la séduction et son écriture. Le dialogue à l'œuvre dans la séduction est présenté comme un espace de formation. La séduction est envisagée comme séduction éthique, quête de la bonne distance, exercice spirituel. La syncope, le duende, l'extase sont décrits comme des états de conscience où la distance entre le soi et le monde, le soi et l'autre, l'esprit et la matière s'abolit. À partir de ces états, l'ouverture vers l'infini et vers la transcendance que peut poser la séduction est exposée. Dans le quatrième chapitre, la séduction est pensée comme le parfum du sacré, à travers une lecture du Cantique des cantiques. Par la séduction, l'importance du corps dans le sacré est soulignée. La place du secret et de la foi dans la séduction, dans le sacré et dans le littéraire est étudiée. La séduction permet une plongée érotique dans le monde et dans le réel, par les figures et par les images qu'elle déploie. Le savoir de la séduction est un parcours, savoir du corps et de l'esprit. / This thesis reflects on the place of literary (Kierkegaard, Hofmannsthal, The Song of Songs) and cinematic (Matador d'Almodóvar) figures of seduction in the relation between the self and the other. It explores the connection to transcendence and the sacred inscribed in writings on seduction. In the first chapter, the figures of seduction help us put into question the boundaries between literature and philosophy (conceptual persona and aesthetic figure). The figures of bullfighters, associated with the figures of seducers, present the extreme violence of seduction and the instant when consciousness can no longer be split in two. The second chapter is a reflexion, through the figures of the master and the slave, on desire, consciousness of the self and the other in the relationship of seduction. The figures of bullfighters manifest the sacrifice in seduction. Dialogue, considered at the heart of seduction itself, reveals the importance of seduction in the process of thinking. The third chapter develops the bond established by seduction between the self, the other and the world. In the writings of seduction, dandyism shows the tension between mind and matter. The dialogue at work in seduction opens a space of education. Seduction is viewed as an ethical process, the search for an appropriate distance, a spiritual exercise. Loss of consciousness, duende and ecstasy are described as states of consciousness that abolish the distance between self and world, self and other, and mind and matter. Through these states, seduction brings about an opening to the infinite and transcendence. Finally, seduction is defined as the perfume of the sacred through a reading of The Song of Songs. Through seduction, the importance of the body in the sacred is underscored. The place of secrecy and faith in seduction, the sacred and literature is examined. Seduction enables an erotic immersion in the world, in the real, through the figures and images of seduction. The knowledge of seduction is a process, a knowledge of body and mind.

The subject of this dissertation is W. H. Auden's use of the Jungian psychology of individuation and the Kierkegaardian theology of existence. Its purpose is to demonstrate the importance of Jungian and Kierkegaardian thought in poetry written during 1939 through 1942, the first four years of Auden's residency in the United States and the first four years of his return to the church. The purpose is achieved by applying a paradigm encompassing both psychology and theology to an analysis of Jungian and Kierkegaardian thought in the principal sonnets of "The Quest" and to a detailed explication of two longer poems, New Year Letter and For the Time Being.

O homem que possui uma existência autêntica age de acordo com a sua vontade. Busca-se, mediante uma análise dos dramas de Ibsen, mais precisamente as peças Casa de Boneca, O inimigo do povo e a Dama do mar, encontrar traços de uma existência capaz de determinar a si mesma. Considerado um dos precursores do teatro moderno, Ibsen ressalta em suas peças os conflitos humanos, a tensão entre a subjetividade e a objetividade, entre os desejos individuais e as leis morais. Com efeito, o tema da autenticidade perpassa grande parte de sua dramaturgia. Diante deste cenário conceitual, utilizar-se-á a filosofia elaborada por Kierkegaard. Kierkegaard contribui para a formulação do conceito moderno de indivíduo com a sua definição do Enkelte, que é o indivíduo no qual o Eu está realizado. Embora de autores distintos, o trabalho encontra a sua unidade diante do fundo temático comum, pois são textos que contribuem para a discussão da possibilidade de uma existência verdadeira, fiel a si mesma. Qual é a base do pensamento subjetivo? Há uma cisão irrecuperável entre essas duas formas de pensar? Poderiam ambas ajudar-se mutuamente? A objetividade não foi, ao longo dos anos, confundida com objetivismo? Subjetividade não foi confundida com subjetivismo, arbitrariedade ou mera vontade individual? Pensando nessas questões- e no conflito entre subjetividade e objetividade desenvolvo nessa dissertação um estudo de tal temática baseando-me na obra de Kierkegaard (1813-1855). Para a realização de tal tarefa, analiso especialmente o Post-Scriptum, relacionando-o com algumas outras obras suas e pseudônimos do pensador dinamarquês. A relação entre subjetividade e objetividade em Kierkegaard se esclarece através da sua concepção das figuras de Sócrates e Cristo. O pensador grego e Cristo- a suma imagem do mistério- são tomados como exemplos de subjetividade, a despeito de suas diferenças. Nessa pesquisa, três outros autores são de importância capital para Kierkegaard: Hegel, Lessing e Feuerbach. Hegel não figura apenas como oponente de Kierkegaard. Tal oposição kierkegaardiana foi tratada como uma estratégia no contexto geral de suas obras. O pensador dinamarquês também não defende uma subjetividade que pode ser confundida com qualquer espécie de subjetivismo, desprezando a objetividade. A leitura kierkegaardiana da figura de Lessing é bastante relacionada ao fato desse pensador ter trabalhado exaustivamente o confronto entre fé e razão. O Post-Scriptum de Kierkegaard será muito influenciado por uma carta de Lessing intitulada Sobre a demonstração em espírito e força. Feuerbach representa, no pensamento kierkegaardiano, uma espécie de adversário declarado e aliado involuntário. Este estudo mostra como Kierkegaard concorda com muitas das teses materialistas de Feuerbach acerca do cristianismo e afirma que este tem uma compreensão verdadeira do cristianismo, coisa que nem os pastores da cristandade luterana da Dinamarca, nem os filósofos sistemáticos conhecem. O Post-Scriptum também é fortemente influenciado por algumas das teses da Essência do Cristianismo de Feuerbach. Com essas delimitações e especificidade- a dissertação se propõe a estudar o debate entre subjetividade e objetividade no pensamento de Kierkegaard, contribuindo para um debate importantíssimo da história do pensamento filosófico ocidental / Abstract: What does objective thinking consist or? What is the foundation of subjective thinking? Is there a irreconcilable schism between these two ways of thinking? Could they complement each other? Wasn't objectivity for many years confused with objectivism? Wasn't subjectivity merely confused with arbitrary decisions or individual willingness; that is, the so-called subjectivism? Based on the work of Kierkegaard's (1813-1855) this dissertation explores the subjectivity/objectivity conflict. In order to achieve this goal, Kierkegaard's Post-Scriptum is analyzed in connection with other works of the Danish thinker. The subjectivity/objectivity relationship becomes clear in Kierkegaard's work through his analysis of Socrates and Christ, whereby, in spite of their differences, the Greek thinker and Christ are shown as examples of subjectivity. In this piece of research three other authors are of crucial importance for Kierkegaard: Regel, Lessing and Feuerbach. Regel is not only Kierkegaard's opponent. Such kierkegaardian position should be better analyzed and seen as a strategic stance in general context of his work. The Danish thinker does not support a kind of subjectivity which could be confused with any kind of subjectivism either. He does not despise objectivity. Kierkegaard's position with respect to Lessing is strongly related to the fact that the German thinker thoroughly explores the confTontation between faith and reason. Kierkegaard's Post-Scriptum will be greatly influenced by a letter of Lessing's entitled: Demonstration spirit and strength. Feuerbach is, in kierkegaardian's thinking, at the same time a kind of declared adversary and involuntary allied. This piece of research shows how the kierkegaardian position agrees with many of Feuerbach's materialistic theses conceming Christianity and also agreewith his true analysis of the Christianity. Kierkegaard considerers these theses better than the position of the Danish Luther ministers and the sistematic philosophers. The Post-Scriptum is also strongly influenced by some of Feuerbach's theses on the Essence of Christianity. This dissertation studies- within carefully described constraints and levels of specificity- the debate between subjectivity and objectivity in Kierkegaard's thinking. Sous le signe de l'irréductibilité de l'événement ou "devenir" des concepts à l'histoire des idées, le moment philosophique du structuralisme selon Deleuze (1967-1969) est envisagé selon trois points de vue correspondant aux trois parties de la thèse. <p>La première partie adopte la perspective historiographique pour y déceler, chez F.Wahl (1968), M. Frank (1989) F. Dosse (1991), deux principales sources de la méconnaissance du structuralisme philosophique deleuzien au profit d'un prétendu "post" ou "néo-structuralisme" (à partir de L’Anti-Œdipe) :<p> 1° le tracé d'une ligne de partage exclusif entre la philosophie et le structuralisme méthodique des linguistes et de Lévi-Strauss ;<p>2° le rôle de parangon joué par la déconstruction derridienne du structuralisme. <p>La seconde partie fait valoir l'irréductibilité du "portrait conceptuel" du structuralisme peint par Deleuze en 1967, tant à l'égard du "cliché scientiste" (linguistique ou axiomatique) dominant les présentations doxographiques contemporaines (F.Wahl et J. Piaget) qu'à l'égard de la déconstruction du structuralisme par Derrida. A rebours des premiers, Deleuze supprime le mètre-étalon (linguistique ou mathématique) permettant de hiérarchiser les disciplines concernées par le structuralisme et, en s’appuyant sur la théorie lévistraussienne de la fonction symbolique à la clef du structuralisme de Lacan, Althusser, Foucault et le groupe Tel Quel, il propose sept critères formels transdisciplinaires, valant autant dans les sphères philosophique et artistique que dans celles des sciences humaines et des sciences exactes. Ce faisant, à la différence de Derrida et du « néo-structuralisme », Deleuze associe en un même « Jeu idéal » Lévi-Strauss (philosophiquement moustachu d’être associé à Lacan, Foucault, Barthes et Althusser) et Nietzsche (philosophiquement glabre d’être revisité à la lumière du structuralisme). <p>La troisième partie envisage dans Différence et répétition et Logique du sens le développement philosophique de ce "personnage conceptuel" nietzschéo-structuraliste apte à accomplir le « renversement esthétique » du Platonisme nihiliste au profit de la création et de la dramatisation des simulacres/structures. Before the publication of the short story collection Skolbagateller medan jag försökte skriva till min överordnade in 1972, Torgny Lindgren's authorship was characterized mainly by political criticism and satire. In both reception and later studies, Skolbagateller has also been seen mainly as a political and satirical work, depicting the bureaucracy and loneliness in the Swedish school system of the 1970s, while Lindgren's later works tend to discuss existentialistic and theological questions. While reading the earlier published theses about Lindgren's works, especially Ingela Pehrson's Livsmodet i skrönans värld from 1993, I realized how big of an influence Kierkegaard had been to the author. With this in mind, it seemed as if Skolbagateller depicts existential questions that go deeper than the political satire. The main issue of this essay is the lack of interpersonal contact that Skolbagateller depicts, and why this seems to be so closely connected to the school system. The short story collection is studied from an existential point of view, based on Kierkegaard's concept of anxiety. The concept of sin is examined by a comparison between the secular system on which Lindgren's school is based, and the Christian system in which Kierkegaard founded his existentialism. The prose of the short stories is examined with the help of literary theory, such as James Joyce's concept of epiphany, and Roman Jakobson's view on the metonymically constructed language of the realistic prose, and the metaphorically structured language of lyrical works. The analysis shows that the school in Skolbagateller is metonymically connected to the secular society, and by extension to the mere concept of society. The secular ideas the school teaches prohibit the individual and spiritual development of the persons that are part of the school system and the socially evaluated concept of sin causes anxiety. The secular ideals of stability and uniformity leads to a worldview where humans are seen as mere physical and rational beings, leading to a socially constructed determinism where change is impossible. The theme is depicted by metonymically written repetitions and "reader epiphanies", that are accomplished by allegorical stories. In these, the characters are confronted with a problem that makes them doubt the school system, but in the end, they still choose to accept the rules without further reflection.
