Högläsning som pedagogiskt redskap : En studie om pedagogers arbete med högläsning på lågstadiet / Reading aloud as an educational tool : An investigative study on how pedagogues at primary school work with reading aloud

Andreadis, Evelina January 2019 (has links)
Reading aloud is something that is considered important for children's linguistic development, although I have experienced that reading is something that has rarely taken place in the teaching context I´ve found myself in. I therefore chose to study how the attitude to reading aloud looks among selected teachers at the lower secondary school. The purpose of my thesis is to investigate how often pedagogues use reading aloud. I also want to investigate how the pedagogues proceed with the selection of text or book for their reading aloud and how the educator connects his or hers reading to the curriculum. My choice to gather information is based on a selected framing of questions through three semi-structured interviews in which three teachers from grade 1, 2 and 3 participates. All educators practice reading aloud but the scope and purpose varies slightly. All participants share the same view of reading aloud, they say that it’s important and meaningful. I’ve also used a survey to get a broader view of the topic. The result is clear; most of the pedagogues who participated in the survey uses reading aloud for their students, similar to the interviews the scope varied. My personal teaching experience thus differs from the results that the survey provides.

The present research, from qualitative approach, proposes to achieve two objectives: to analyze the Constitution of Brazilian Sign Language-Libras as discipline curriculum mandatory in the Pedagogy course in the Universidade Estadual do Centro - Oeste -UNICENTRO-Guarapuava/PR and investigates the locus of Libras on course curriculum and its possible contribution to the formation of the professionals. It is based in Bourdieu’s theory with key concepts of habitus, capital, countryside, symbolic violence, strategies and knowledge hierarchy, what inspires, as well as meet and define its concepts, apply its modus operandi to research, observe how the concepts are forged from the search object and the relationships between agents and structure. For the production of data, a non-directive interview was chosen. Participants were the teachers of the discipline of Libras and the teachers of the Department of Pedagogy of UNICENTRO/G. With the research, it was possible to verify that the Pedagogy course is centered in the formation of teaching for Early Childhood Education and initial years. There is a recurring idea among professionals that Fundamentals disciplines occupy more space in the curriculum. The discipline of Libras and its implementation in the course is of a legal nature, with little or no mobility within the curriculum, and it has been given a role of teacher educator for the teaching of the deaf student, from the perspective of educational inclusion. However, Libras' responsibility is too great for the actual conditions it occupies within the course. Therefore, there is an urgent need to think about the configuration of the discipline and the knowledge that it deals with, since even tied to the discourse of inclusion, historically it has been considered insufficient by the deaf students because it is a primarily monolingual instruction environment. As the deaf student learns and how to teach it runs through the language, but specific methodologies are necessary, resulting in a time load of the discipline that is insufficient for this purpose. Still, it is verified that the role of Libras professor in the University has odd nuances, but the fact of feeling little valued in the academic space is limiting of its practices. The formation of the deaf teacher who works at the graduate level also stands out because of the difficulty of the deaf teachers in continuing their stricto sensu formation, and with this, the little existence of institutionalized capital that gives them greater participation and mobility in the academic field. Finally, there are the internal confrontations within the deaf community, the tension between the deaf and the fluent listeners in Libras and the specificity to be a teacher of Libras in college, the discussions on the subject are focused on the audiological question and not necessarily on professional competence.

The beliefs of students of the FACED / UFC pedagogy course on good teacher and initial formation / As crenÃas de discentes do curso de pedagogia da FACED/UFC sobre o bom professor e a formaÃÃo inicial

Talita Almeida Rodrigues 17 July 2017 (has links)
During the academic trajectory many teachers pass through students' lives with their practices and postures establishing relationships changing positively or negatively the lives of these students. So, over the years, the beliefs that the students have about the good teachers are settled. What standpoints and practices stand out? What characterizes the pedagogical doing of these teachers? How can the study of these questions contribute to critical reflections and new directions for Initial teacher formation? Based on disturbing questions such as these, this research was guided by the following general objective: To understand the beliefs of Pedagogy course students from Federal University of CearÃ, about the "good teacher", describing and relating them to their initial formation. This, in turn, unfolding in the following specific objectives: to highlight the importance that teaching beliefs have in relation to the work that they develop; Describe the predominant conceptions about the good teacher in Brazilian pedagogical thinking; Reflecting on Pedagogy and its problems, explaining the knowledge that make up teacher education; Presenting the beliefs about the "good teacher", understanding and describing the vision of undergraduates in the course of Pedagogy on the characteristics inherent to this professional. Also establishing a constant dialogue with the initial formation of teachers, their challenges and dilemmas. The interest in the study of students' beliefs that the good teacher has his/her foundations in understanding, along with Soares (2005), Soares and Bejarano (2008), Arroyo (2013) and Gay (1995) And change the teaching practices. Such beliefs have their foundations, often, during the long years of basic schooling. For this study, the reference of Hume (2004; 2004), Bourdieu (2015) and Thugendat (1982) was used to deal with the formation of belief in the human mind, so that this concept could be perceived beyond Religious field. The methodological assumptions of the research are based on the Historical-Dialectical Materialism (PAULO NETO, 2011; TRIVIÃOS, 2013), with a qualitative approach. This research was carried out with students of the Pedagogy course of the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of CearÃ. The methodological procedure for the generation of the data occurred with the accomplishment of semistructured interviews. The methods adopted for data manipulation were Discourse Analysis (MAINGUENEAU, 2015) and Content Analysis (BARDIN, 2016). This last one, having its importance linked to the process of formation of the categories. From the study on the material produced through the interviews conducted, it was possible to arrive at the following categories: good teachers are directors of human teaching; Articulate knowledge; Theory and practice; Are practitioners of praxis; Have a broad methodology; Are political agents; Perceive themselves in the condition of eternal apprentices; Professorship; Have affection for the work they do and are mirrored in good teachers they have already had. From the beliefs, then, relationships and reflections were made regarding the initial formation of teachers, in the search for the understanding of some of their problems, and it was possible to think ways and reaffirm conceptions. Thus, this research points to the conclusion that good teachers have a diversity of knowledges and professorships, which is not noticed that these professionals can be perceived as a harmonious whole. In this context, he also emphasizes that beliefs about the good teacher interact with a range of other beliefs and questions, reverberating in the understanding that this branch of knowledge interacts with the conception that one has ab outschool, education, teaching, learning, among others, end up influencing the actions, postures and directions that daily support pedagogical practice.

Utomhuspedagogik : Pedagogernas förhållningsätt och praktiska arbete / Outdoor pedagogy : Pedagogues’ perspective and actual praxis

Innala, Loida January 2019 (has links)
Globalization and technology advancement has brought both benefits and dilemma to our society. It has vastly revolutionized the lifestyle of the individual and made children spend more time in front of the television and with their gadgets, compared to the lifestyle fifty years ago. Corollary to the alarming effects of technology on children’s behaviour, social development and health, outdoor pedagogy has gained popularity in schools and preschools in Sweden. Outdoor pedagogy addresses the increasing need to encourage children to lead a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. However, the potential of outdoor pedagogy remains either unutilized or not fully realized in Swedish preschools. The purpose of this paper is to analyze how preschool pedagogues in two rain or shine-preschools think about outdoor pedagogy and how their perspectives influence the way they teach. Three research questions have been formulated in order to investigate the purpose: What are the pedagogues’ perceptions of outdoor pedagogy in the investigated preschools? What learning tools are being implemented by the pedagogues of rain or shine-preschools to advance outdoor pedagogy? What strategies are used by the pedagogues in order to handle the challenges in advancing outdoor pedagogy? A qualitative method is used in this study where data is collected through interviews and observations. The study is carried out in two rain or shine-preschools within Stockholm with four informants that agreed to participate in the study. A sociocultural perspective, John Dewey’s progressivism and “learning by doing” are drawn from, to interpret the collected data. This study came into the conclusions that the pedagogues’ show awareness of the positive benefits of the outdoor pedagogy. The study also shows that the prerequisites for a good quality of an outdoor pedagogy emanates from the pedagogues’ interest, experience, education and role as a child’s co-discoverer, co-existent individual, co-actor and co-thinker. Attaining the goals in lesson plan for preschools is regarded by the pedagogues as significant in formulating their daily activities where natural resources are being utilized. Competency in outdoor pedagogy, innovativeness, spontaneity and flexibility are therefore considered an advantage due to the demanding factors affecting outdoor pedagogy like shortage of workforce in preschool, fluctuating weather conditions and other factors affecting the child’s behaviour.

Andersson, Kerstin, Lundgren, Ingegerd January 2005 (has links)

/
Our investigation treats learning by reading and reading comprehension. On the basis of a pedagogues and a pupils perspective we have investigated the concept of reading comprehension, what it means to know how to read and understand a text, which prerequisite it demands and how learning take place around this. As a starting point to our investigation we have use different research perspectives on learning by reading and touching different learning by reading methods. Through qualitative interviews with pedagogues and pupils we have investigate their understanding about how you learn to read by yourself and what it means for your reading comprehension. The results have given us knowledge of that the pedagogue should be sensitive and support the pupil with different tools, because the pedagogue must help the pupil in their reading evolution. We mean that it would facilitate if pedagogue and pupil are active in learning by reading.

Och hur har Din helg varit? : En undersökning i livsberättelseform, om att på fritidshemmet möta socialt utsatta barn / How has Your weekend been? : An investigation in form of a lifestorymethod, about meeting children with social problems at the recreational center

Lindström, Anna Sofia January 2009 (has links)

Abstract

This paper is about how recreational pedagogues need to do their work to be a good support for children who comes from families that have social problems. The paper is based on a life story method with a recreational pedagogue who has worked at a recreational center her whole career. The purpose of the paper is to contribute with knowledge about the experiences of working with socially vulnerable children as a recreational pedagogue. The investigation that took place in the home-environment of the pedagogue was then typed out and rewritten by me to a narrative story where the most relevant pieces have been pointed out. The subject of the investigation is about being a child in a family with a problem of abuse and the significance of working with the children from those families. The story also includes the duty to report and how you as a recreational pedagogue do the appraisal if the child is being treated badly in their home. The result of the interview has then been held up against the literature about the social services work, a scientific rapport in form of a quantitative investigation that shows facts of how the duty of reporting incongruity to social services is being handled in real life, other scientific research of socially vulnerable children and youth and a book made by family therapists and is about the roles of the pedagogues. The conclusions that I could show from the investigation was that there has not been much research done about the recreational centers and socially vulnerable children together. That the most important toll that a pedagogue has got to help these children is our language, our experiences and our commitment. Another conclusion I have made is that we are all individuals. Teachers, parents and pupils, we all have different needs and different basic conditions and therefore we have to have that in mind while we do our work.
