Tynell Olivius, Gabrielle, Kiessling, Sofia January 2020 (has links)
Heteronormativity and norms concerning gender and sexuality are present in the entirety of Sweden, and their expressions are often wide and varied. This thesis studies the experiences of two upper secondary school teachers employed in Malmö through a case study in regards to work with gender and sexuality norms in religious studies. Additionally, how the pandemic COVID-19 and transit to digital teaching has affected work with gender and sexuality norms are explored. Using select parts of queer theory and thematic analysis, key components presented by the interviewees relating to work with gender and sexuality norms are identified and analyzed against the backdrop of previous research.

Exploring Subjective Experiences of Sport-Related Concussions in Swedish Elite Athletes : A phenomenological study

Söderberg, Annie January 2020 (has links)
The present study explored elite athletes experiences of a sport-related concussion (SRC), i.e. cognitive, emotional and behavioral responses in rehabilitation. The participants were four elite athletes, 2 men and 2 women (23-25 years old), from cycling and martial arts, all suffering protracted concussion symptoms. A semi-structured interview guide was used, and data was analyzed through thematic analysis, with inductive reasoning. The findings suggest that emotional, cognitive and behavioral responses, such as uncertainty, stress, motivation and depression were present in the recovery from SRC, represented by six themes (1) Identity Loss, (2) Invisibility of the Injury, (3) Being In Charge of Recovery and Return to Sport, (4) Social Support and Pressure, (5) Uncertainty of Recovery Prognosis and (6) Depression and Substance Use. The findings also highlight the risk for mental illness following SRC and the importance of learning more about the psychological perspectives of SRC. Suggestions for practical implications and future research proposals are given.

Global goals in a local context: Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals - A case study

Engström, Jonatan, Salvi, Usva January 2018 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to explore a local organization’s adoption of global sustainability policy, in terms of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Agenda is a response to global sustainability challenges which require action by international cooperation and actors on all levels. For such a policy to fulfill its purpose, means of implementation must be ensured. This study aims to answer both why and how a small organization located in Malmö, Sweden, has adopted the Sustainable Development Goals, and what it implies for its operations. More specifically, the focus is on the perceptions of people involved in the selected case organization. These perceptions have been captured by interviews. In addition to the interviews, the case data also consists of a document that directs parts of the organization’s operations. Furthermore, to connect the global and local levels, the case data is supplemented with the 2030 Agenda. By conducting a thematic analysis, our main findings indicate that the SDGs are adoptable to a local organization, but that their main function seems to be to frame and legitimize already existing activities in a context of sustainable development.

”Smaka.

Stevens, Michelle, Storm Falkvåg, Marie January 2023 (has links)
The purpose of the study is to use interviews to elucidate how preschool teachers perceive the mealtime environment, children's participation and autonomy, as well as how children perceive their own participation and autonomy during mealtime situations in preschool. As perceptions of participation and autonomy were investigated, we adopted a childhood sociological perspective. To highlight the most frequent and significant statements from the interviews, a thematic analysis was used.   The study was conducted in a preschool with eight departments in a larger municipality in Halland county, Sweden. The study is based on three semi-structured interviews with three preschool teachers, all of whom had prior experience with different meal services in preschool. Additionally, group conversations were held with four five-year-old children. The results of the study indicate that the preschool teachers consider the mealtime environment at their preschool to be disorderly, stressful, and noisy. Furthermore, they express that children are not made as involved and autonomous as they should be, which they attribute to the buffet-style meals. The results from the children demonstrate that they do not feel included in decisions regarding where to sit during lunch, what food is served, and are not involved in the choice of how much and what type of food they take, whether at the buffe or at the table In conclusion, it is evident that the children are not made as involved and autonomous as the have the potential to be.

OPERATIONALIZING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL 11 : Utilization of a neighborhood sustainability assessment tool for localizing the sustainable development goals in Swedish municipalities

Boxner Åsbrink, Johannes January 2023 (has links)
Efforts towards sustainable urban areas are fundamental for the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals [SDGs], embodied in goal 11 of sustainable cities and communities. Sustainable urban development requires the goals to be localized and operationalized to the applied areas needs and prerequisites. Localization and operationalization of the goals has, however, proved to be difficult in a local setting. In relation, Neighbourhood Sustainability Assessment [NSA] tools are found to provide directives, metrics and indicators of community sustainability assessments, possibly appliable to provide guidance for local governance to operationalize the SDGs. This degree project aims to evaluate the possibility of SDG.11 attainment and policy operationalization at a local level through the use of an established NSA-tool, BREEAM-C. To do so, this degree project use deductive thematic analysis, with SDG.11 targets as analytical framework, to evaluate connectivity to SDG.11 of local policy documents stated to direct efforts of SDG.11 implementation and the selected NSA-tool manual. Further, a composite index of NSA-tool indicators, ranked and adapted to local intentions, is developed through an analytical hierarchy process. Overall strong connections, though variable, to SDG.11 are found for both municipal and NSA-tool intentions of urban development as well as between municipal and NSA-tool intentions. The proposed composite index for SDG.11 implementation is deemed to adequately answer to municipal intentions of SDG.11 implementation.

Björkesjö, Martin, Karlsson, Sebastian January 2023 (has links)
The following paper aims to study the therapeutic alliance between professional counselors working in healthcare and their patients. The purpose of the study is to develop an understanding of how the professional counselors treat clients to create an alliance, how they act when the alliance is deemed damaged and how they follow up the alliance to the client. The study is a qualitative study and to collect data, semi-structured interviews were designed with eight counselors who work in health care. To analyze the data, a thematic analysis was used. The results show that the counselors create alliance to their clients by building trust using a range of character and personality traits and strategies where the characteristics that the counselor and/or the patient possess can influence the difficulty of success. To repair a ruptured alliance, the professional may pause and consider a new approach, discuss the patient's reaction, use metacommunication or backtrack and apologize as strategies. The results show that counselors tend to follow up the alliance with their patients. For the most part, the follow up is done verbally by asking questions about the patient's experience of the meeting. The follow up can take place before, during or after the meeting.

En fallstudie av ett tekniklärararbetslag / A case study of a technology teacher work team

Karlsson, Mikael January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of the study is to investigate how teachers view the content and purpose of the technical subject. This leads to questions about the purpose, implementation and opportunities of the technology subject and what is prioritized and valued. To answer the questions, I conducted a case study. I chose to do an inductive qualitative study with the help of a discussion with a technology teacher work team and a written questionnaire. I processed the information from the discussion using a thematic analysis. A thematic analysis to identify, analyze and report patterns (themes) in information. I processed the survey responses by doing a classification. My answers to how technology teachers in a team view the school subject technology is simply that it varies and that teachers do as they usually do. The teachers prioritize NO substances in favor of the subject technology. But there is an ambition and expression to teach technology from the perspective of Technology as a human application.
