Nu ska jag leva ett hederligt liv : En tematisk analys utifrån tidigare kriminellas skönlitterära verk / Now I will live an honorable life : A thematic analysis based on the works of fiction of former criminals

I denna studie har fyra biografier/självbiografier producerade av tidigare kriminella tematiskt analyserats. Målet var att ta reda på vilka omständigheter som gör att individer går från kriminalitet till laglydighet. Genom en överblick av tidigare forskning, utökades studiens fokus med att inkludera teorier som kontrollteori och genusteori. Genom studiens resultatanalys identifierades sju olika teman, som var betydande för deltagarna: barn, relationer, mognad & identitet, arbete & annat engagemang, religion, tilltro samt betydelse av fängelsestraffet. Egna och andras barn skapar motivation till förändring, goda relationer bidrar med förändrade attityder till brottslighet, mognad och identitet bidrar med utveckling mot ett annat sätt att förhålla sig till sig själv och brottslighet, arbete och engagemang stärker självförtroendet i kunskap om att andra möjligheter finns, religion bidrar med styrka och tröst i svåra stunder, tilltro ger stöd och förebilder och fängelsestraffet ger tid för eftertanke och erfarenheter. / In this study, four biographies/autobiographies produced by former criminals have been thematically analysed. The goal was to find out what circumstances make individuals go from criminality to law-abiding. Through an overview of previous research, the focus of the study was expanded to include theories such as control theory and gender theory. Through the study's result analysis, seven different themes were identified, which were significant for the participants: children, relationships, maturity & identity, work & other commitment, religion, faith and the meaning of the prison sentence. Own and other people's children create motivation for change, good relationships contribute to changing attitudes to crime, maturity and identity contribute to development towards a different way of relating to oneself and crime, work and commitment strengthen self-confidence in the knowledge that other opportunities exist, religion contributes with strength and comfort in difficult moments, faith provides support and role models and the prison sentence gives time for reflection and experiences.

Samtyckesundervisning i biologi och naturkunskap : Lärares uppfattningar, anpassningar och utmaningar i ljuset av läroplansförändringar / Consent teaching in biology and natural science : Teachers’ perceptions, adaptions, and challenges in the light of curriculum changes

Knowledge about the importance of consent is crucial regarding several aspects. Previous studies demonstrate the need for extended discussion platforms for consent and that school plays a large role in conveying information about the area. It is also noted that this type of teaching is deficient. To emphasize the importance of consent, curriculum revisions were introduced in July 2022, which clearly focus attention on consent teaching.  This study investigates the implementation of the new curriculum changes regarding the area Sexuality, consent, and relations in biology- and natural science teaching at the secondary and upper secondary school levels. The focus is on the insertion of a clearer framework for consent teaching. The purpose of this study is to enhance understanding of teachers’ efforts and challenges in consent teaching within the subjects of biology and natural science. To investigate the purpose of the study, qualitative interviews with seven qualified biology- and natural science teachers, both from secondary and high school levels, were carried out.  From the results of the study, a clear discrepancy was identified between positive attitudes towards the changes and the actual implementation identified. The results revealed obstacles, such as limited theoretical support and professional development, to realizing pedagogical changes. In terms of teaching methods, the teachers conduct teaching that mainly resolves around discussions, which is in line with the research’s implications of good consent teaching. On the other hand, there is a lack of continuous conversations and interdisciplinary work. The study therefore emphasizes the importance of involving teachers from various subjects to ensure holistic teaching. Finally, the findings highlight a particular challenge of engaging young men in consent education, requiring strategies to include their perspectives and make them understand the meaning of consent. The conclusions highlight the need that it is insufficient to introduce new guidelines without providing support for their implementation. Additionally, there is a requirement for continued research on gender differences and consent education. / Kunskaper om samtyckets betydelse i relationer är avgörande ur flera aspekter. Tidigare studier påvisar att det finns ett behov av utvidgade diskussionsplattformar för samtycke och att skolan spelar en stor roll i att förmedla information kring området. Det påpekas även att denna typ av undervisning är bristfällig. För att trycka på samtyckets betydelse infördes läroplansrevideringar i juli 2022, som tydligt betonar samtyckesundervisning.  Denna studie undersöker implementeringen av nya läroplansändringar kring området Sexualitet, samtycke och relationer i biologi- och naturkunskapsundervisningen för högstadiet och gymnasiet. Fokus ligger på införandet av en tydligare samtyckesundervisning. Syftet med föreliggande studie är att öka kunskapen om lärares arbete och utmaningar med samtyckesundervisning i ämnena biologi och naturkunskap. För att undersöka studiens syfte, genomfördes kvalitativa intervjuer med sju behöriga biologi- och naturkunskapslärare både på gymnasial- och högstadienivå.  Från studiens resultat identifierades en tydlig diskrepans mellan positiva attityder till ändringarna och den faktiska implementeringen av dessa. Resultaten visade på hinder, som begränsat teoretiskt stöd och kompetensutveckling, för att förverkliga pedagogiska förändringar. Vad gäller undervisningsformer bedriver lärarna en undervisning som främst kretsar kring diskussioner, vilket stämmer överens med forskningens implikationer av god samtyckesundervisning. Däremot saknas kontinuerliga samtal och ämnesövergripande arbete. Studien betonar därav vikten av att involvera lärare från olika ämnen för att säkerställa en holistisk undervisning. Slutligen visar resultaten på en särskild utmaning att engagera unga män i samtyckesundervisningen, vilket kräver strategier för att inkludera deras perspektiv och få dem att förstå betydelsen av samtycke. Slutsatserna framhäver behovet av att det inte är tillräckligt att införa nya riktlinjer utan att frambringa stöd för implementeringen av dessa, samt att det förefinns ett behov av fortsatt forskning kring könsskillnader och samtyckesundervisning.

ATT MÖTA FLERSAMMA KLIENTER: EN REFLEXIV TEMATISK ANALYS AV PSYKOLOGERS BERÄTTELSER

Flersamhet är ett svenskt begrepp som beskriver personer som lever polyamoröst, i öppna relationer eller på andra sätt har icke-monogama relationer med samtycke. Vårt samhälle har en väldigt stark monogaminorm som ofta påverkar personer som lever utanför den på ett negativt sätt. Den aktuella studien ämnade att ta reda på vilka erfarenheter personer som jobbar med psykologisk behandling (psykologer, psykoterapeuter och kuratorer eller liknande) har av att ha flersamma klienter i terapi eller behandlande samtal, samt vilka erfarenheter som är viktiga och betydelsefulla i behandling med flersamma klienter. Fyra psykologer intervjuades och data analyserades med reflexiv tematisk analys. Deltagarnas berättelser tyder på att utmaningen som behandlare står inför när det träffar flersamma klienter oftast gäller sig själva och sitt eget arbete, snarare än klienterna. De behöver förhålla sig till ideal kopplat till flersamhet, behandlarrollens ideal och hur de påverkas av samhällsnormer i stort och monogaminormen specifikt. Kunskap beskrivs som en av de viktigaste aspekterna och psykologerna behöver förhålla sig till vem som har ansvar över att tillräcklig och rätt kunskap ska finnas hos behandlarna. Det beskrivs även som en viktig aspekt att förhålla sig till sin professionella roll som behandlare och att reflektera över vad som är ett bra bemötande gentemot flersamma klienter. Resultatet visar att psykologens identitetsarbete är ett övergripande tema som deltagarna behöver förhålla sig till på ett eller annat sätt. / Consensual non-monogamy, CNM, describes people who are polyamorous, have open relationships or other non-monogamous relationships with consent. Our society has a strong monogamy-norm that often will affect people who do not conform to it, often in a negative way. The current study aimed to explore what experiences people who work with psychological treatment (psychologists, psychotherapists and counselors and the like) have of therapy with CNM clients, and which experience they deem important and meaningful in therapy with CNM clients. Four psychologists were interviewed, and the data was analyzed with reflexive thematic analysis. The participants' descriptions suggest that the challenge faced by psychologists primarily revolves around themselves and their own work, rather than the clients. They need to navigate ideals associated with CNM, the ideal role of the psychologist, and how they are influenced by societal norms at large, and monogamy in particular. Knowledge is identified as one of the crucial aspects and they need to navigate questions and concerns regarding who has responsibility that sufficient and appropriate knowledge is held by the psychologists. Another important aspect is to navigate their own professional role as psychologists and reflect on what constitutes positive treatment towards CNM clients. The findings indicate that the psychologist’s process of identity work is an overarching theme which the participants need to navigate in one way or another.

Eco-Social Reforms and the Paradox of Complex Change : A qualitative thematic analysis of the national media debate on the 2022 Chilean Constitution

By now, it is an acknowledged fact that economic growth, social justice, and environmental sustainability are interconnected. Often referred to as the eco-social-growth trilemma, the challenge is to achieve synergy between the objectives and avoid trade-offs. This thesis adds to the field by exploring central themes related to the trilemma in the national media debate on the 2022 Chilean constitutional draft and discussing what they indicate about public opinion on eco-social policies in general in the country. The analysis found that multiple of the theorized tensions affecting public support were central in the debate on a semantic level, including affordability of changes, necessity of changes, effect on job security, political bias, welfare deservingness, effects on existing benefits and state involvement in welfare. Moreover, on a latent level, three overarching themes permeated the debate: uncertainties about the future, lack of representation and limitations of freedom. Overall, results showed that environmental issues took a backseat to social and economic objectives in the debate, which can be connected to what I call the Paradox of Complex Change. The Paradox refers to the notion that eco-social reforms need to encompass multiple parameters and factors to be successful and yield support, but simultaneously the very same maximalism can backfire. With more parameters included, there are more potential sources of disagreement – and chances are focus shifts away from the core issues. This is something for future researchers as well as policymakers to consider.

Medarbetares upplevelser av tillitsbaserat ledardskap / Employees' Experiences of Servant Leadership

The aim of this study was to explore the experiences of employees in the social care sector regarding servant leadership. Eight employees were interviewed, and the interviews were transcribed. Subsequently, a thematic analysis of the material was conducted. Four themes were identified: "Diverse functions of communication", "Clarity and expectations across professional roles", "Diverse pathways to development anchored in psychological safety",  and "Interpersonal relationships”. Each theme comprised two to four sub-themes. The employees perceived communication through dialogue as pivotal for a functional relationship with their manager. It served not only as a means to address and resolve issues but also as a tool for relationship-building. Furthermore, the employees discussed their differing expectations on the manager and of themselves. The aspect of trust-based leadership, where the manager is less controlling and provides greater autonomy, was experienced as both beneficial and stressful. The latter was interpreted as a consequence of unclear expectations, leading to performance anxiety. Limited financial resources were perceived as a barrier to development, although this was not attributed to the manager but rather seen as a consequence of political decisions made at higher levels of governance. Trust was perceived as fundamental for fostering a positive relationship between the manager and employees.

Undervisning i källkritik i grundskolans NO-ämnen åk 7–9 : En tematisk studie / Teaching Source Criticism in Compulsory School Science Subjects Year 7–9

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka på hur ämneslärare i grundskolans NO - ämnen företrädesvis kemi, men också biologi och fysik, i sin praktik bedriver undervisning om källkritik för att möta läroplanens mål och kunskapskrav inom detta område. Studien har baserats på inspelade kvalitativa semi-strukturerade intervjuer av åtta lärareverksamma i grundskolan. Resultaten har tagits fram genom tematisk analys och beskriverhur lärarna undervisar i källkritik i NO-ämnena, samt deras bedömning av de förmågor somde anser eleverna behöver för att tillgodogöra sig undervisningen i källkritik. Källkritiken behandlas främst som en aspekt i undervisningen tex i samband med olika påståenden eller frågor som eleverna tar upp baserat på information de tagit del av i samhällsdebatten eller i olika diskussionsforum. Lärarna diskuterar då tillsammans med eleverna vilka faktorer som gör att information är mer eller mindre trovärdig. Lärarna beskriver också att det är viktigt i undervisningen att lyfta fram att trovärdigheten för vetenskapliga påståenden är beroende av huruvida påståendet stöds av de vetenskapliga metoder som använts vid framtagningen och att påståendet har granskats av ämnes experter. Lärarna i denna studie beskriver att den viktigaste förmågan för att eleverna ska kunna källkritiskt granska information med ett naturvetenskapligt innehåll är deras kunskaper i de olika NO-ämnena. En annan viktig förmåga är att eleverna förstår hur de ska använda sökmotorer på internet för att kunna ta fram oberoende källor. Risken är annars att de hamnar i en s.k. sökbubbla och de inte erhåller relevant information. / The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how science teachers in compulsory school, preferably chemistry, but also biology and physics, in their practice conduct teaching about source credibility to meet the curriculum's goals and knowledge requirements in this area. The study has been based on recorded qualitative semi-structured interviews of eight teachers active in primary school. The results have been produced through thematic analysis and describe how the teachers teach source criticism in the science subjects, as well as the capabilities that the teachers believe the students need to be able to benefit the teaching ofsource credibility. Source credibility is mainly treated as an aspect of ordinary teaching, for example in connection with various statements or questions that students address based on information they have taken part in in the public debate or in various discussion forums is mainly treated as an aspect of the usual teaching. The teachers then discuss with the pupils which factors make information credible. The teachers also describe that it is important in the teaching to emphasize that the credibility of scientific statements depends on the statement being supported by the scientific methods used in the development and that the statement has been reviewed by subject matter experts. The teachers in this study describe that the most important capability for students to critically review information with a scientific content is their knowledge of the various NO subjects. Another important capability is that students understand how to use search engines on the Internet to be able to find independent sources. The risk is otherwise that they end up in a so called search bubble and they do not receive relevant information.
