Empregado, autônomo e empresário : a tomada de decisão no setor de transporte rodoviário de cargas em São Marcos, RS

São Marcos, no Rio Grande do Sul, caracteriza-se por sua participação no setor do transporte rodoviário de cargas, sendo o município brasileiro com maior número de veículos pesados por habitante. Este trabalho busca identificar os fatores que influenciam a tomada de decisão dentro desse ramo de negócios. Assim, são estudados quatro casos de profissionais da área. Esses indivíduos iniciaram sua trajetória na condição de empregados, passando em seguida para a fase de autônomos. No entanto, apenas dois deles prosperaram, tornando-se empresários; os outros dois retornaram à condição de empregados. O estudo também possibilitou identificar o nível de insatisfação dos empregados do setor na busca de um progresso dentro do mesmo, assim como observar o perfil de competência daqueles que chegam a implantar suas próprias organizações. Dessa forma, é possível formar um paralelo entre as experiências bem-sucedidas e as tentativas frustradas. Os dados foram levantados a partir de uma série de fontes de evidências como entrevistas, registros de arquivos e documentos dos personagens referidos. A análise desses dados leva à interpretação de dois fatores como fundamentais na tomada de decisões dos indivíduos que trabalham no transporte rodoviário de cargas: a intuição e a influência de outras pessoas que cercam os tomadores de decisão. Esses fatores reforçam a idéia da subjetividade dentro do processo administrativo. O trabalho possibilita a formação de um quadro de dados gerais a respeito do setor. Além disso, serve de referencial às atitudes de organizações públicas e privadas, de pessoas ligadas ao ramo e de jovens que pretendem entrar nesse universo de trabalho. / São Marcos, in Rio Grande do Sul, is characterized by its the significant shore in the road cargo transport sector, it is the Brazilian county with the largest number of heavy vehicles per inhabitant. The present research tries to identify the factors that influence decision-making in this business activity. Four case studies were developed with professional workers. These people have started their career as employees, later having become selfemployed. However, only two, out of the four become, becoming successful entrepreneurs. The other two went back to the condition of employees. Through the study it was also possible to identify the dissatisfaction levels of among employees in the sector, who look for professional development, as well as to observe the professional profile of those who reached of establishing their own companies. Therefore, it is possible to make a comparison between successful experiences and fruitless efforts in the field. Data were collected from several sources like interviews, file registers and documents of the referred people. Analysis of these data leads to the identification of two main factors influencing decision-making of people who work in cargo road transport: intuition and influence of other people around them. These factors reinforce the assumption of subjectivity in the management process. The research makes it possible to create a general profile of people involved in this activity. Besides it is a useful reference for the study of public and private organizational behavior, for people already involved in the area and for young people who intend to enter the area.

A população de sociedades de crédito ao micro empreendedor no Brasil: uma análise sob a perspectiva da síndrome das novatas

Based on data of foundation and failure, some authors have found different opinions on such influence. To some of them, the newness organizations are those who suffer more because they have few resources, low legitimacy or high influence of the market and, therefore, fail more. Other authors observed that there is an initial period of survival and failure rates increase after this period, which is because the entrepreneur put a higher energy in the early development or still an extra financial resource. Others argue that the organizations who suffer more are the older ones, especially in turbulent environments, because they cannot respond to market changes. From these different perspectives, this dissertation intent to analyze the effect of age in the population failure rates, at the specific case of the Brazilian Companies of Credit to the Micro Entrepreneur. It refers to a new population of organizations founded at the late 1990s, under the terms of Brazilian Central Bank s Resolution 2.726. The Model Weilbull Distribution of Probabilities was used to evaluate the methodological availability in association with a descriptive statistics. What can be perceived from the presented data is that the liability of newness is not applicable to this population, because there is a significant number of companies that has survived during the first five years since their foundation. Nevertheless, from this period on, the failure rates has increased significantly after an initial moment of living. Because it is a new population, a long term evaluation is needed to validate that statement. Furthermore, it is necessary to evaluate as well the influence of external factors that can affect the life of these organizations, especially when these factors affect their own customers base. / A influência da idade das organizações nas taxas de sobrevivência é tema de debate sob perspectivas diferentes nos estudos de administração, sobretudo no âmbito da Ecologia Organizacional. A partir de dados de taxas de fundação e fracasso, os autores de ecologia organizacional têm encontrado diferentes conclusões sobre a influência da idade na sobrevivência das empresas. Para alguns, as organizações novatas são as que sofrem mais, pois possuem poucos recursos, baixa legitimidade ou alta influência do mercado e, sendo assim, fracassam mais. Outros autores observaram que existe um período inicial de sobrevida e que as taxas de fracasso aumentam após este período, isso porque o empresário possui um ânimo maior no início do empreendimento ou ainda um recurso financeiro em caixa. Outros ainda argumentam que as organizações que mais sofrem são as idosas, principalmente em ambientes turbulentos, pois não conseguem responder às mudanças no mercado. Com base nestas diferentes perspectivas, este trabalho se propôs a analisar o efeito da idade sobre as taxas de fracasso populacional, no caso específico das Sociedades de Crédito ao Micro Empreendedor no Brasil. Trata-se de uma população de empresas jovem, nascida no final da década de 1990, de acordo com Resolução 2.726 do BACEN. A avaliação dos dados se apoiou no modelo de Probabilidades Weibull e numa análise estatística descritiva. O que se percebeu com os dados apresentados, é que a síndrome das novatas não se aplica para esta população, pois nota-se que há um número significativo de empresas sobreviventes nos cinco primeiros anos de vida. Todavia a partir deste período as taxas de fracasso aumentam consideravelmente. Por tratar-se de uma população jovem, é preciso uma avaliação de maior prazo para validar tal afirmação. Além disso, é necessário avaliar também a influência de fatores externos que podem afetar a vida destas organizações, principalmente fatores que afetam a própria base de clientes.

O presente estudo aborda uma análise de fundamentação teórica a partir de um estudo de caso, com base no perfil empreendedor de um agente do agronegócio do setor leiteiro: Lair Antonio de Souza. Ele foi o fundador da marca de Laticínio Xandô, no ano de 1982, em Araras/SP embora sua trajetória empreendedora tenha começado bem antes. O trabalho atual objetiva contribuir para o estudo comportamental do empreendedorismo, enquanto se propõe a aprofundar aspectos envolvidos na construção e consolidação do perfil empreendedor do principal responsável pela história de sucesso da marca Xandô. A metodologia proposta permite a realização de pesquisa qualitativa e exploratória, parte apoiada em entrevistas semi-estruturadas aplicadas junto aos diferentes tipos de atores que conheceram e interagiram com o empresário Lair Antonio de Souza no passado e parte apoiada em pesquisa de entrevistas concedidas por ele em diferentes mídias e de depoimentos de familiares e funcionários. Como base metodológica para o tratamento das informações será utilizada a técnica de análise de discurso. Extrai-se dos resultados de que a forma com que o empreendedor enxergava o trabalho, como componente de sua cultura e visão de mundo, é tida por todos como a \"pedra fundamental\" de sua trajetória de sucesso. Na análise da história de vida deste empreendedor, busca-se entender como se deu a combinação de habilidades de liderança, inovação, articulação, assunção de riscos e de captura de oportunidades frente aos desafios que contextualizam, histórica, econômica e socialmente, o empreendimento na área de produção e comercialização de uma das mais antigas e relevantes marcas de leite tipo A no país. / An analysis of a case is adopted in this study - based on the entrepreneurial profile of an agent in the agribusiness, more specifically, in the dairy sector: Lair Antonio de Souza, founder of Xandô dairy brand in 1982 in Araras / SP (even though his entrepreneurial trajectory had begun a lot earlier). The results to be achieved aim to contribute to the study of entrepreneurship and deepen aspects involved in building and consolidating the entrepreneurial profile of the main responsible for the story of success related to Xandô brand as well. The proposed methodology allows the accomplishment of a qualitative and exploratory research supported by semi-structured interviews with the different types of actors who knew and interacted with the entrepreneur (Lair Antonio de Souza) in the past. Some interviews he gave to different media together with accounts provided by family members and employees were also taken into consideration in our research. As a methodological basis for the processing of the information the discourse analysis technique will be used. We conclude that the way the entrepreneur considered the activities related to the operation was a component of his culture and world view, and as such viewed as the \"cornerstone\" of his trajectory of success. Through the analysis of this entrepreneur\'s history of life we attempt to understand how the combination of abilities such as leadership, innovation, articulation, risk-taking, and the capture of opportunities in the face of challenges (which contextualize historically, economically and socially the entrepreneurship related to the production and commercialization of one of the oldest and most relevant brands of type \'A\' milk in the country) took place.

A Responsabilidade Social Empresarial (RSE) foi criada nos Estados Unidos na década de 1950, porém, as práticas filantrópicas e caritativas das empresas datam de antes desse período. A RSE representa uma complexificação do campo da ação social das empresas, levando em consideração a atuação estratégica da empresa frente ao público atingido pelas ações da empresa (stakeholder). A atuação social do empresariado brasileiro sempre esteve vinculada à regulação das relações de trabalho, principalmente por meio de práticas coercitivas e caritativas. No início da década de 1980 uma nova agenda social do empresariado brasileiro começou a ter vigência. O mote principal dessa nova agenda era mobilizar o empresariado em torno dos principais problemas sociais da sociedade brasileira, tal como trabalho infantil, desigualdade social e fome. O Instituto Ethos foi resultado direto dessa nova agenda do empresariado brasileiro, tornando a atuação social empresarial mais complexa e pautada por mecanismos de verificação baseados em padrões internacionais. Nosso problema de pesquisa é analisar a constituição do Instituto Ethos enquanto um dos atores principais da RSE no Brasil, discutindo a constituição do campo da RSE no Brasil, os posicionamentos e discursos do Instituto frente ao Estado e às políticas públicas, averiguando a sua vinculação com o projeto político neoliberal. Para isso partimos para a análise dos documentos do Instituto, relatórios de organizações internacionais e os discursos dos intelectuais orgânicos do campo da RSE no Brasil. A RSE é um campo fragmentado, permeado por disputas conceituais e de práticas que no fundo representam uma luta entre frações de classe para uma definição do que seja RSE, cada uma com um projeto vinculado a seu interesse de classe. O Instituto Ethos é um desses atores nessa disputa. O Instituto Ethos promoveu uma institucionalização da RSE no país, tendo para isso de institucionalizar suas práticas e sua organização. A estrutura administrativa do Instituto é bastante complexa, tendo vários conselhos e diretorias, estabelecendo uma distância entre as diretrizes do Instituto e a atuação das empresas, favorecendo uma autonomia relativa do Instituto Ethos frente a suas empresas associadas. Neste trabalho questionamos a vinculação imediata entre a RSE e o neoliberalismo, enfatizando a dimensão pública que o Instituto Ethos imprime a tal prática, pois as diretrizes do Instituto enfocam uma espécie de parceria entre as empresas e o Estado no provimento de políticas públicas. A crítica aqui se dirige àqueles trabalhos que analisam a RSE como substituta do Estado nas áreas sociais decorrentes de um arranjo político neoliberal. Essa hipótese se mostra problemática, pois o Instituto Ethos não reivindica menos Estado, pelo contrário, chama o Estado para uma regulação da RSE no país / Abstract: This research has as is object the Ethos Institute for Corporate Social Responsibility, whose statutory task is to promote and disseminate social responsibility among companies operating in Brazil. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was established in the United States in the 1950's, however, the philanthropic and charitable practices of companies dating from before that period. CSR represents a complexity of the field of corporate social action, taking into account the strategic work of the company before the public affected by the actions of the firm (stakeholder). The social performance of the Brazilian business has always been linked to the regulation of labor relations, mainly through coercive and charities. In the early 1980's a new social agenda of the Brazilian business began to take effect. The main motto of this new agenda was to mobilize the business community around the main social problems of Brazilian society, such as child labor, social inequality and hunger. The Ethos Institute was a direct result of this new agenda of the Brazilian business, making business more complex social activities and guided by verification mechanisms based on international standards. Our research problem is to analyze the constitution of the Ethos Institute as one of the main actors of CSR in Brazil, discussing the constitution of the field of CSR in Brazil, positions and addresses of the Institute from the State and public policy by examining its connection with the neoliberal political project. For this we start to analyze the documents of the Institute, reports of international organizations and the speeches of the organic intellectuals of the field of CSR in Brazil. CSR is a fragmented field, permeated by disputes conceptual and practical at the bottom represent a struggle between fractions of class for a definition of what CSR is, each with a project linked to their class interest. The Ethos Institute is one of those actors in this dispute. The Ethos Institute promoted the institutionalization of CSR in the country, and for that to institutionalize their practices and their organization. The Institute's administrative structure is quite complex, and several councils and boards, establishing a distance between the guidelines of the Institute and the performance of companies, favoring a relative autonomy of the Ethos front of its affiliates. In this work we question the immediate link between CSR and neoliberalism, emphasizing the public dimension of the Ethos Institute prints to this practice, because the guidelines of the Institute focus on a kind of partnership between business and the state in providing public policy. The criticism here is directed to those papers that analyze CSR as a substitute for the State in social areas due to a neoliberal political arrangement. The segment focused on this work suffers , even more , the low capacity of mobilization and representation, not having, well, how to defend a state partner only success and never failure. The legislation itself acts as a barrier, with all rules decoupled from economic reality, establishing procedures that instead of being incentive become often insurmountable obstacles for small and micro enterprises. The tangle of laws creates a setting conducive to corruption , a direct consequence of the lack of objectivity and discretion of those with the function of legislating. Examples of laws shown throughout the text depict the true sangria health of these companies, as well as the amount of new Bills presented each year show that, unfortunately, we are still far from a change of direction. The paper aims to show some data through the damage to the state's economy because they are small and micro enterprises, contrary to what many think, the largest employers, is therefore of vital importance that their difficulties are treated as priority. Although, as stated, the State of Rio de Janeiro has served as an example of the current model, this situation is practically the same in all other units of the Federation, highlighting the importance of a general mobilization able to change the course of this story. However, it is also clear that this transformation involves a change of mindset, because without it, all wins will be punctual, no strength to build a new business scene. / Esse trabalho se debruça sobre os problemas enfrentados pelas pequenas e microempresas no Estado do Rio de Janeiro, dadas as circunstâncias de uma estrutura arcaica e burocratizada do Estado brasileiro, que transforma o ato de empreender em uma verdadeira aventura, pois além dos desafios e riscos inerentes ao próprio negócio, a burocracia elimina a maioria das empresas ainda nos primeiros anos de vida. O segmento focado nesse trabalho sofre, ainda mais, pela baixa capacidade de mobilização e representatividade, não tendo, assim, como se defender de um estado sócio apenas do sucesso e jamais do fracasso. A própria legislação funciona como um entrave, com regras de todo dissociadas da realidade econômica, estabelecendo procedimentos que ao invés de serem estímulos se transformam em obstáculos muitas vezes intransponíveis para as pequenas e microempresas. O emaranhado de leis cria um cenário propício à corrupção, consequência direta da falta de objetividade e critério daqueles com a função de legislarem. Os exemplos de leis mostrados ao longo do texto retratam a verdadeira sangria na saúde dessas empresas, assim como a quantidade de novos Projetos de Lei apresentados a cada ano, demonstra que, infelizmente, ainda estamos longe de uma mudança de rumos. O trabalho procura apontar através de alguns dados o prejuízo para a economia do Estado, pois são elas, pequenas e microempresas, ao contrário do que muitos pensam, as maiores empregadoras, sendo, portanto, de vital importância que as suas dificuldades sejam tratadas como prioridade. Embora, como dito, o Estado do Rio de Janeiro tenha servido como exemplo do modelo vigente, essa realidade é praticamente a mesma em todas as demais Unidades da Federação, deixando clara a importância de uma mobilização geral capaz de mudar o rumo dessa história. Porém, fica claro também que essa transformação passa por uma mudança de mentalidade, pois sem isso, todas as vitórias serão pontuais, sem forças para a construção de um novo cenário de negócios.

The performance of Resplendissance financial statement for five years, the great investment on promoting the product on drug store and social media channels by bloggers and youtubers results serious financial problem of generating negative profit totally NTD$1,321,200 in the beginning of four years. Assuming growth rate of sell quantity increasingly by 40%~50% every year because of continuously promoting on social media channels to attract Taiwanese and foreign countries in Asia, then net profit will finally reach to positive NTD$ 149,220 in fifth year and generate positive profit in the following years.

Effets du contrat d'entreprise : comparaison franco-vietnamienne / Effects of the contract of enterprise : French-vietnamese comparison

La thèse examine la comparaison des effets du contrat d’entreprise en droit français et en droit vietnamien. Au sein des contrats spéciaux, dans un monde d’économie de services accrue, le contrat d’entreprise joue désormais un rôle majeur. Ses multiples facettes pourraient d’emblée permettre de dresser une liste de métiers. Elle serait haute en couleur, puisque la plupart des prestations de services peuvent se couler dans le moule juridique du contrat d’entreprise, pour le quel se trouvent concernés artisans,artistes, professions libérales, etc. Synallagmatique, le contrat d’entreprise engendre des obligations réciproques à la charge de l’entrepreneur et du maître de l’ouvrage. Elle a permis de mettre en évidence les obligations qui constituent le droit commun du louage d’ouvrage, et de s’apercevoir que les obligations nées du contrat d’entreprise ainsi que ses effets revêtent des contours spécifiques qui s’expliquent par particularités de la convention. Ces particularités sont indéniables s’agissant des obligations principales et accessoires de l’entrepreneur à l’égard du maître de l’ouvrage et à l’inverse. Ces deux parties devraient être sanctionnées pour l’inexécution des obligations contractuelles et être exonérées de la responsabilité en justifiant les causes d’exonération. L’étude comparative de ces particularités en droit français et en droit vietnamien permettra de constater les similitudes et les divergences entre les deux systèmes juridiques. Les deux pays sont proches sur le plan juridique. Ainsi, la conclusion qui s’en dégage est que certaines dispositions du droit français pourraient utilement inspirer les législateurs vietnamiens et vice versa. / The thesis examines the comparison of the effects of the contract of enterprise in Vietnamese law and French law. Within the special contracts, in a world of greater economy of services, the contract of enterprise plays from now on a major role with various operations. It would be with a ruddy complexion, because most of the services can steal into the legal mold of the contract of enterprise, thus that are concerned craftsmen, artists, medical services, liberal professions, etc. Synallagmatic, the contract of enterprise engenders mutual obligations chargeable to the contractor and the owner. The study allowed to point out the obligations that constitute the common rules of the contract of enterprise and, to notice that the obligations following the contract of enterprise are specific because of the particular aspects of this agreement.The particularities are undeniable with respect to the main and secondary obligations of the contractor towards his owner and on the contrary. Both parties should be sanctioned by the non-fulfillment of the contractual obligations and to be exempted from the responsibility by justifying the causes of exemption. Comparative studies of these particularities in French law and in Vietnamese law will allow to notice the similarities and the differences between both legal systems. The two countries are close on the legal plan. Thus, the conclusion that emerges is that certain provisions of the French law could usefully inspire the Vietnamese legislators and vice versa

創業之目的是突破現狀,追求創新,創業家必須擁有資源才能創新產品與服務,但他們卻因資源受限而有志難伸。新創企業如何以拼湊有限資源來翻轉劣勢,是隨創(bricolage)所提倡的主導做法。可是,拼湊資源是透過怎樣的時機,當今文獻卻討論有限,因此,時機辨識成為是當前亟需探索之重點。本研究選取三個原住民族新創企業個案,分析他們的經營歷程、挑戰與如何透過辨識時機進行資源拼湊。本研究發現,原住民族文化是重要的資源,這些在地資源成為識別機會、突破資源稀缺的服務創新關鍵。在學術意涵上,本研究提出三個議題。第一,辨識時機需要觀察資源轉換脈絡;第二,辨識時機需要設定資源使用情境;第三,辨識時機需找出資源調合方式。在實務啟示上,本研究提出辨識時機的各種可能,並歸納多樣的隨創原則。進行隨創時,若能掌握在地文化便可以找出適當時機,讓有限的資源拼湊出無限的創新。 / The objective of entrepreneurship is to seek breakthrough innovation within status quo. Entrepreneurs must obtain resources in order to innovate new products or services. But their aspirations often are frustrated due to resource constraints. The dominant approach to entrepreneurial bricolage is to advise new ventures to turnaround adversities by making-do with resources. But, when could entrepreneurs identify opportunity for tinkering limited resources? This is an inquiry worth further investigation. This research selects three case studies of indigenous start-ups while analyzes their entrepreneurial process and challenges within; and examines how they recognize opportunities in creative resource tinkering. This study found that indigenous culture is a kind of critical local resource, which may trigger opportunity recognition in order to guide resource making-do and achieve service innovation. Theoretically, this study suggests that (1) opportunity recognition must understand the context that is suitable for the transformation of resource quality; (2) opportunity recognition must pay attention to resource deployment in situ; (3) opportunity recognition should identify methods of resource blending. Practically, this study proposes several possibilities of opportunity recognition and summarizes a variety of bricolage principles. When engaging entrepreneurial bricolage, if we could get a grip with local culture, it increases our chance to identify the right moment and allow limited resources to enact unlimited innovation.

An assessment of the business plan support offered by SEDA to its business clients in the Western Cape

Magister Commercii - MCom / The Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) is an organisation that gives various types of business support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in order to foster their growth. It is widely believed that there can be failure in the performance of SMEs that is partly due to limited provision of business support. This study aims to assess the work of SEDA, in particular the ‘business plan’ support it provides to SMEs. This will assist in establishing factors that hinder, or promote, the growth and success of SMEs.The main objectives of this study were firstly, to assess the perceptions of SEDA’s business clients with regards to the business plan intervention. Secondly, to assess the effectiveness of the SEDA’s business plan intervention, and lastly to identify and recommend other interventions that its clients suggest, that can improve the services it provides to business owners.A review of literature highlighted the continued difficulty that SMEs in South Africa face in accessing finance, and the vital role that support institutions like SEDA can play to not only alleviate the problem, but also strengthen the owners business and entrepreneurial skills. A qualitative case study design was used in this study. Two data collection methods, document analysis and in-depth interviews, were employed. A thematic data analysis was conducted to assess the business plan support activities provided by SEDA.The findings of the study show that, firstly, access to finance remains a challenge for most SMEs. Secondly, the lack of business skills is a key limitation to success among SEDA’s clients and thirdly, the study revealed a communication gap between SEDA and its business clients.The study recommends that SEDA should bridge the communication gap in order to improve the impact of the vital services it offers to existing, and potential clients. The Results of the study may apply, generally, to the development of SMEs in South Africa.

前期經驗對使命型創業家之影響: 以「綠然能源」為例 / The effect of prior knowledge on missionary entrepreneur – a case study of DOMI

自工業革命以降,資本主義驅動著經濟與社會不斷前進,市場經濟所創造的交易效率幾乎滲透了人們生活的方方面面。但是使人類引以為傲的資本主義卻也創造了日益嚴重的貧富差距與自然環境的破壞,廠商犧牲了利害關係人的利益,極大化股東的利益,這促使我們開始思考是否有不同的方式可以同時創造合理的利潤,也同時善待組織的利害關係人?Fauchart 和 Gruber (2011) 所提出的使命型創業家很可能是一個新解,使命型創業家以改變社會為己任,期待藉由自身組織來改變社會與環境問題。然而,是什麼樣的原因促使使命型創業家出現?且使命型創業家是如何透過商業模式在使組織賺錢的同時增進利害關係人之效益?為了回答這個問題,本研究欲透過Shane (2000) 的前期經驗理論、使命型創業家之自我認同、利社會動機理論,與 Porter 和 Kramer (2011) 的共享價值理論來檢視個案公司。本研究選擇綠然能源作為研究個案,綠然能源是全台灣第一間由美國B Lab認證的B型企業 (B Corp),成立已有四年的時間,且已經開始獲利,此外,綠然能源之共同創辦人再加入此事業前,皆擁有豐富的商業經驗與獨特對社會與環境的生命體驗。研究者透過質性研究方式,以半結構式訪談、實地觀察法和次級資料搜集進行研究,以探究前期經驗、自我認同與利社會動機對個案公司創辦人之影響,以及個案公司如何發展出具有共享價值之價值主張。最後本研究提出以下發現,使命型創業家之自我認同、利社會動機與前期經驗是其創業行為的核心,並且這將影響組織發展共享價值之價值主張,而團隊成員豐富的前期經驗也有助於組織辨識機會,發展具共享價值之商業模式。 / After Industrial Revolution, Capitalism drives human society and economy forward constantly. The efficiency that market economy creates, has almost penetrated into every level of our daily lives. However, the powerful Capitalism has also done severe damage to environment, enlarging the gap between the rich and the poor. These phenomena cause us to think is there any possible a firm can earn a reasonable profit and treat its stakeholders well at the same time? The research on missionary entrepreneur of Fauchart and Gruber (2011) may become a solution to the problem we are facing. The missionary entrepreneur considers contributing to a better world is critical to them and it is their responsibility to do act for the social & environmental cause. Yet what makes one become a missionary entrepreneur? And, how does missionary entrepreneur develop a business model to solve the social & environmental problem and make profit as well? To answer these questions, the study aims to analyze the case company with the prior knowledge theory of Shane (2000), the self-identity of missionary entrepreneur (Fauchart & Gruber, 2011), prosocial motivation, and creating shared value (Porter & Kramer, 2011). The study takes DOMI as the case company, because DOMI is the first one certified B Corp in Taiwan. 4 years after DOMI was founded, now the company has already made profit from its business. Additionally, the co-founders all have diverse and multiple business and entrepreneurial experience. Plus, all of them had unique experience of social & environmental problems. The research is done by qualitative research method, and the research data is collected through semi-structured interview, field observation and secondary data analysis. In the end, the study shows that diverse prior knowledge of organization members will help organization recognizes opportunity. Besides, prior knowledge, self-identity, and prosocial motivation influence the missionary entrepreneur behavior, which can also enhance organization to create shared value in its value proposition.
