Grundskollärares arbetsmotivation : Med inriktning på individuell lönesättning / Elementary school teachers’ work motivation : with focal point on individual wage setting

Fredriksson, Erik January 2017 (has links)

The subject of the research was the connection between happiness and virtues and moral norms-prohibitions (sins). The master's thesis consists of an introduction, two chapters, a conclusion, a bibliography (56 sources) and an appendix, which includes the forms of the applied techniques. The volume of the master's thesis is 98 pages, which contain 5 figures and 17 tables. The introduction reveals the relevance of the research problem, the elaboration of the problem, sets the goal and objectives of the research, determines the object and subject of the research, formulates the main and additional hypotheses, indicates the methods and empirical base, as well as the stages of the research, scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance of the work. The first chapter includes a review of foreign and domestic literature on the topic of happiness, virtues and dignity of the individual, as well as sin as a synonym for the moral norm-prohibition. Conclusions for the first chapter represent the results of the study of theoretical material. The second chapter is devoted to the empirical part of the study. It provides a description of the organization and methods of the study and the results obtained for all the methods used: the updated Oxford Happiness Inventory, the Personal Virtues Questionnaire (PVQ), self-assessment scales of happiness, greed, anger, pride, lust, envy, despondency, gluttony. The chapter also presents the correlation and factor analysis of the research results. The conclusions of the second chapter include the main findings of the empirical study. In the conclusion, in a generalized form, the results of the theoretical and empirical parts of the work, as well as conclusions on the hypotheses put forward, are presented, the practical significance of the study is substantiated and possible prospects for the further development of this problem are described.

Three essays in matching mechanism design

Nesterov, Alexander 26 September 2016 (has links)
I consider the problem of allocating indivisible objects among agents according to their preferences when transfers are absent. In Chapter 1, I study the tradeoff between fairness and efficiency in the class of strategy-proof allocation mechanisms. The main finding is that for strategy-proof mechanisms the following efficiency and fairness criteria are mutually incompatible: (1) Ex-post efficiency and envy-freeness, (2) ordinal efficiency and weak envy-freeness and (3) ordinal efficiency and equal division lower bound. In Chapter 2, the focus is on two representations of an allocation when randomization is used: as a probabilistic assignment and as a lottery over deterministic assignments. To help facilitate the design of practical lottery mechanisms, we provide new tools for obtaining stochastic improvements in lotteries. As applications, we propose lottery mechanisms that improve upon the widely-used random serial dictatorship mechanism, and a lottery representation of its competitor, the probabilistic serial mechanism. In Chapter 3, I propose a new mechanism to assign students to primary schools: the Adaptive Acceptance rule (AA). AA collects von Neumann-Morgenstern utilities of students over schools and implements the assignment using an iterative procedure similar to the prevalent Immediate Acceptance rule (IA). AA enjoys a strong combination of incentive and efficiency properties compared to IA and its rival, the Deferred Acceptance rule (DA). In case of strict priorities, AA implements the student-optimal stable matching in dominant strategies, which dominates each equilibrium outcome of IA. In case of no priorities, AA is ex-post efficient while some equilibrium outcomes of IA are not; also, AA causes loss of ex-ante efficiency less often than DA. If, in addition, students have common ordinal preferences, AA is approximately strategy-proof and ex-ante dominates DA.

De l'écrit à l'image (IXe - XIe siècle) / The discourse of vices and virtues in the Carolingian and Ottonian periods. From writing to image (9th-11th century)

Rodrigues, Perrine 17 October 2018 (has links)
The discourse of vices and virtues is a study which deals with the definition of the notions of good and evil, law and prohibition in the context of Carolingian renouatio, begun under the reign of Charlemagne and continued under his successors, then revitalized under the reign of Ottonians. The literary and artistic genres in which allegories of vices and virtues appear, constitute a very varied corpus of sources (judicial, moral, iconographic, etc.). The diversity of sources makes it possible to emerge the definition of an ideal allowing to lead the man to his salvation, while setting up moral codes and a norm which make it possible to regulate the society in all areas.

Geschwisterrivalitäten im Buch Genesis : Eine literaturwissenschaftliche Analyse ausgewählter Geschwisterrivalitäten / Sibling rivalries in Genesis : a literary analysis of selected sibling rivalries

Martella, Immanuel Matthäus 11 1900 (has links)
This applies in particular to rivalry between brothers. Frequent episodes of reversals and other catalysts ignite conflicts which continually endanger family continuity. Although sibling rivalry has been extensively addressed by the academic research, the analysis of interconnected and recurrent literary motifs among the stories has not yet been sufficiently explored. Therefore, the present study investigates the literary connections among three principal rivalries: Cain and Abel, Jacob and Esau and Joseph and his brothers. This includes, in particular, the analysis of those texts which deal with the origin, escalation and resolution of these conflicts. As a result of this study, lexical and thematic motifs, as well as motifs of plot development among the stories are worked out. These motifs present a tightly interwoven narrative network among the stories. They reveal a narrative arc of suspense which ranges from the primeval fratricide to fraternal forgiveness, teetering continually on the brink of fratricide / Genesis is a book of family histories which are marked throughout by conflict.
