"Det blir helt enkelt ingen riktig valkampanj utan valaffischer." : En semiotisk- och retorisk analys av förekomsten av ideologier i Sveriges valaffischer 2018 / “It won’t be a proper election campaign without election posters.” : A semiotic- and rhetoric analysis of the presence of ideologies in election posters in Sweden 2018

Stenstam, Jolanda January 2019 (has links)

”Every book shall be a paving-stone” : A study of ideological publishing houses in the Swedish literary field

Larsdotter, Ylva, Larsson, Fia January 2007 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to examine a selection of ideological publishing houses in Sweden today. We want to examine where they are situated in the literary society, their terms and prerequisites. This is achieved through interviews with informants from each of the publishing houses, which we analyze with concepts from the culture sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. The publishing houses are also put in context through information from other actors in the literary field, together with previous research and other material about the Swedish book market. The main research problem in the thesis is to examine the relations between the selected publishing houses – which profile themselves as ideological – and the literary field where they exist. The theoretical framework consists of Bourdieu’s theories on the literary field. One of the main conflicts in the field is that between the cultural and the economical pole, both aspects that must be considered by the publisher. The increased market adaptation in the book business can lead to standardized publications and difficult conditions for smaller actors. The results show that independent publishing houses are an important complement to the larger publishing houses as they serve as a guarantee for variety within the field. Furthermore, the examined publishing houses function as a meeting place for readers, authors and other literary collaborators with the correct kind of symbolic capital. The publishing houses create alternative ways of book-selling and distribution. They also co-operate with agents/actors with a similar position in the field, to reach out with their publishing and ideology. / Uppsatsnivå: D

Lokal kulturpolitik på 2000-talet? En ideologianalys av fem kommunala kulturpolitiska visionsdokument. / Local cultural policy in the 21st century? An ideology analysis of five municipal cultural policy vision documents.

Åsfält, Maria January 2009 (has links)
This Master’s thesis explores and describes the beliefs, values and norms in a selection of five Swedish municipal cultural policy documents approved 2005-2007. The comprehensive question is: Which ideological traits characterize cultural policy in the chosen municipalities as communicated in their respective cultural policy vision document? The method used is ideology analysis. Ideal types based on a model by Dorte Skot-Hansen are used as a conceptual framework, illustrating three different rationalities in relation to cultural policy: the humanistic, the sociological and the market oriented. The analysis shows that the policy documents are based on different conceptions of culture. Concepts with a marked presence in the material as a whole are availability, participation, prioritization of children and youth and culture as a means for social development and economic growth. In terms of rationality the market oriented and the sociological rationalities are strong, whereas the humanistic rationality is relatively weaker. However, the results are not unambiguous. One conclusion drawn is that the municipal policy documents display a relatively high degree of independence towards the Swedish national cultural policy goals from 1996. Another conclusion is that in the midst of the 21st century it has been possible for the municipalities to choose different paths for the cultural policy on the local level.

Naturskildringen i ett samhällsperspektiv : en ekokritisk studie av Gösta Berlings saga och Händelser vid vatten / Nature portrayals in a society perspective : an ecocritical study of The Story of Gösta Berling and Blackwater

Wiberg, Karolina January 2009 (has links)
The purpose of this master thesis is to examine how the relationship between humans and nature is expressed in the imaginative literature. My aim is to identify ideological reproductions in the analyzed works. Therefore I have chosen one work from late 19th century and one from late 20th century. This makes it possible to examine the contextual anchorage of the found ideological expressions. The study’s theoretical framework is primarily based on ecocriticism, and especially on Greg Garrard’s and Kate Soper’s thoughts. The method used is critical ideology analysis. The result shows that nature and culture is paradoxical and highly ideological conceptions. In The story of Gösta Berling, an anthropocentric and religiously oriented notion of nature is dominating, though there are some elements of an early deep ecology to be found. In Blackwater we can see a more rational and objective notion of nature as dominating, even if we sometimes can see a shallow romanticism of nature expressed by the characters, where also some groups of humans that are considered to be “closer to nature” is romanticized (for example minority groups). This is explained by the works historical contexts, where The story of Gösta Berling is written in a time of early modernism, where nature is not fully conquered, and therefore seen as mystical and sometimes as a threat to humans. Blackwater was written in a postmodern time where nature is demystified and fully conquered, and strictly speaking no “pure” and untouched nature is left to be found anymore.

Ideologisk inverkan på SAB:s klassificering av arkeologiavdelning J / Ideological influence on Archaeology section J in SAB´s classification systems

Giniewska, Ewa, Albrechtson, Sophie January 2009 (has links)
The Swedish Library Classification System, known as the SAB-system, can be viewed as a product of the cultural and social norms and values in Sweden during the time in which it was created and subsequently reviewed. The main purpose of this master’s thesis is to examine the archaeology section J in the SAB-system, in order to observe if values and norms within this discipline had any impact on the Swedish Library classification system. Our intention is therefore to verify any correspondence between the choice of topics and hierarchical structure of that section, and the values and norms that ruled the Swedish society during the 20th century at large but with particular emphasis to the academic discipline of Archaeology. At the present, Archaeology is often disputed as a value-free interpretive science. Modern scientists are wondering if archaeological conclusions have ever been apolitical. This paper explores if altered attitudes and the socio-political changes through history, can be seen in the Swedish Library classification system. The imperialism, nationalism and left wing radicalization are some of the movements that are examined in this paper. The approach of this study is hermeneutical due to the importance of understanding the context. Literary studies of the history of Archaeology and Library and Information science have been used, and a comparison between all of the eight editions of the SAB-system has been conducted. The result of this study shows that even though the political and ideological changes had a great impact on the Archaeology as a science, there is little evidence that shows the dependency of the archaeology section in the SAB-system from the academic discipline itself. Regardless, the result also shows that the political and ideological changes through the 20th century greatly influenced the outlines of that particular section of the Swedish classification system.

Upphovsrätten i det generella intellektets era / Copyright in the era of the general intellect

Larsson, Rikard, Lund, Arwid January 2008 (has links)
This text examines the ideological positions, as they appear in texts of central importance, of four Swedish protagonists – Antipiratbyrån, Konstnärliga och litterära yrkesutövares samarbetsnämnd, Creative Commons i Sverige and Piratbyrån – in copyright issues. The critical analysis is focusing on three themes – economy, culture and civic rights and responsibilities – and poses the questions of how the ideology of the protagonists relates to the changing processes between culture and economy in the society of today, and which interest of classes, understood in Marxist terms, they favour. Before defining the theory and method of the inquiry the authors give their understanding of the changing processes between economy and culture. The current situation is understood in the light of historical materialism and the authors assert that the society has entered the era that Karl Marx gave the name of the general intellect. The annexation of the culture by the capitalistic logic is nevertheless counterbalanced by a production of culture among peers in gifteconomies based on the human playdrive. Ideology is understood as the worldview of an individual or social group that relates to the interests that their social life generates. The ideology has a manifest and a latent part and you can discover these through textanalysis, reading between lines, and by examining the use of naturalisation and universalisation in the text. Finally, the ideologies of the protagonists are compared and put in relation to the contemporary era of the general intellect and the protagonists ideological positions are criticised by the authors. / Uppsatsnivå: D

Marknaden och kulturarvet : Argumentationsanalys av moderaternas kulturmotion 2005/06Kr:233 / The market and the cultural heritage : Argumentation analysis of the Swedish moderate party’s cultural motion 2005/06Kr:233

Hallbjörk, Anneli January 2007 (has links)
The cultural policy area has a tendency to be seen as a consensus area, where there are no big conflicts between the parties. The aim of this master’s thesis is to study the moderate party’s cultural motion 2005/06Kr:233 with the party leader Fredrik Reinfeldt as first author. If consensus rules, the party’s ideology should not be visible in the motion, but the assumption in the thesis is that it is visible. The main issue is to find out which obvious ideological features the motion contain, in which of Jenny Johannisson’s three discourses the moderate party’s cultural policy best fits into and what consequences there could be with the party’s cultural policy. A short cultural policy background as a consensus area is presented along with the moderate party’s history and ideologies, neo-liberalism and conservatism. The method used is argumentation analysis. The theoretical starting point is Jenny Johannisson’s three discourses of cultural policy, which is partly based upon the researcher Dorte Skot-Hansen’s theories of cultural policy in the Nordic countries. The analysis shows that both neo-liberalism and conservatism are clearly visible in the motion. Conservatism is strong regarding the argumentation concerning cultural heritage and the traditional cultural arts. Neo-liberal concepts like market, competition, supply and demand, the individual and the individual’s freedom of action and choice are strong throughout the motion. The neo-liberal features of the moderate party’s motion best fits in Johannisson’s alliance discourse, which is marketing oriented. The consequences of a moderate party’s cultural policy are probably an even more marketing oriented cultural policy than they have today. / Uppsatsnivå: D

Pluralism eller propaganda? En ideologianalys av franska Front nationals folkbibliotekspolitik och debatten kring denna / Pluralism or propaganda? An ideology analysis of the public library politics of the French National Front and the debate around it

Dittmer, Rebecka January 2008 (has links)
The focus of this master thesis is the library politics of the French Right wing party the National Front and the debate that followed the application of this politics. This qualitative study is divided into two parts where the critics to this politics represents one side and the adherents the other. The critics are composed by representatives from the French, Swedish and – to some extent – international library sector, while the adherent side is made up of politicians from the National Front and their adherents. The empiric material mostly consists of articles published in library, Right wing and daily press. The aim is to investigate to what extent the ideas proposed by opponents and adherents correspond to basic ideological elements of deliberative democracy respectively populism. The documents have been interpreted with an ideology analysis formulated by Herbert Tingsten and developed by Sven-Erik Liedman. In the analysis the results are also associated with the history and the role of the public library as well as the cultural politics of the National Front. The result of this study discloses that the ideas of the critics as well as those of the adherents correspond to a large extent to respective ideology, thou certain aspects contradict them. The opinions of the critic side are also shown to be closely related to those presented in documents concerning the role of the public library. Seen in a broader context, the library politics of the National Front could be considered as part of a cultural strategy. / Uppsatsnivå: D

Folkbiblioteket i den statliga kulturpolitiken : En ideologianalytisk studie av propositionen Tid för kultur / The public library within the government cultural policy : an ideology analytic study of the government bill Tid för kultur

Hedbom, Jakob, Lindroos, Erik January 2010 (has links)
This Bachelor's thesis examines and describes the ideas and ideological traits surrounding the public library within the governmental cultural policy. The Bachelor's thesis demonstrates how the public library – even though its relevance in the modern society has shifted over time – has maintained a connection to the governmental cultural policy and has therefore been shaped by the ideological changes in the political sphere as a whole. The main issues are: Which ideas concerning the public library's functions are expressed in the governmental cultural policy? Which ideological tendencies can be identified in the national cultural policy? Which ideas concerning the public library can be extracted through the found ideological tendencies? The method used in order to study the governmental bill is an ideology analysis based on a framework created by Dorte Skot-Hansen. The conceptual framework is used to represent three municipal cultural political rationales – the humanistic, the sociological and the instrumental – which in the ideal types are based on the ideological tendencies of the Scandinavian cultural policy during the latter half of the twentieth century. The analysis shows that the governmental cultural policy has maintained some of its traditional values but they seem to be inferior to the new economic liberal tendencies. However, within these results the expressed ideas regarding the public library deviates from the ideological tendencies and portray a traditional and enlightening institution instead of the expected market adjusted institution.

”… det är mycket lättare att tala om vad som är svårare.” : Gallring av tryckta böcker och dess konsekvenser för bokbestånd vid folkbibliotek / “... it is much easier to talk about what’s more difficult.” : Weeding of printed books, and its consequences for stock of books at public libraries

Holstenson, Björn January 2010 (has links)
The aim of this study is to illustrate conceptions held by librarians and library and information scientists about weeding practices of printed books in public libraries. The study has been carried out by performing a series of qualitative interviews with librarians and by study of earlier research relating to the subject of weeding. The results have been analysed by utilizing a textual analysis method called idea and ideology analysis using so called dimensions to analyse and structure the results. The results indicate that weeding at Swedish public libraries is carried out by a mixture of objective and subjective methods, with certain statistical elements. Weeding procedures mainly appears to be legitimized according to what one refers to as knowledge of the local community, although lack of lending are cited from time to time. Weeding is attributed with aesthetic, as well as renewing and instrumental functions, yet a certain emphasis can be discerned towards the renewing function in connection with nonfiction while the other two functions are mainly related to the stock as a whole. Librarians appear to identify considerably more difficulties than possibilities that weeding potentially can bring about. These mainly appear to dwell upon how weeding affect the mixture of fiction in the collections.
