L'écriture de l'histoire et l'écriture de soi dans l'oeuvre de Marguerite Yourcenar / Writing about history and writing about self in Marguerite Yourcenar's oeuvre

Lukajic, Radana 12 March 2010 (has links)
In our paper, we suggest two planes of the examination of Marguerite Yourcenar’s major novels: on the one hand, her novels are seen as a form of a narrative indistinguishably associated with a mythic vision of the world; on the other hand, they are seen as the writing of the self, utterly defined by the concepts based on Buddhism that denounce the illusion of ‘’I’’ and substantially leave out the notion of identity. Having stated this, we endeavor to show that the autobiographical writing of the author in question becomes greatly problematized as it is being misinterpreted as a heterobiographic piece of writing. We have also tried to clear out some uncertainties about themes and narrative procedures which are the basis of generic fluctuations of Marguerite Yourcenar’s novels

The second one is to identify the singularities from the Tennyson´s authorship through the characters selection, episodes and approached themes from the achievement which we call temporal transition, associating the Arthurian myth to the English history. In that manner, we identify what the author believed to be the mission of the poet, linked to social function of culture.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Natalia Eunice Paiva Moreira.pdf: 1414671 bytes, checksum: a64da425a26b2aba68f8ba150207fca0 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-07-02 / This research processes and analyzes the popular contemporary narratives that are told in Brazil. The material was collected through bibliographical researches and interviews. This work aims to explain how the urban legend phenomenon is constituted of media production and historical and cultural environment, plus social, political and cultural mediations and impacts over daily life. The urban legend in this work is seen as an actualization of tradition, which is build in a mobile cultural network that involves orality and multiple media supports (such as newspaper, internet, mobile phone). This creative network reveals anxieties, interdictions, fears and prescriptions of a determined society in a determined place. The main references of this research are the contemporary legend studies, such as Paul Smith, Gillian Bennet, Jean-Bruno Renard, Jean-Nöel Kapferer, Véronique Campion-Vincent; the ideia of mythpoetics found in the work of Eleazar Meletinski; the cultural studies of Jerusa Pires Ferreira and Jesus Martin-Barbero; the idea of semiosphere, from Iuri Lotman. The collected material is analyzed in its internal and external aspects. The goal is to understand how each urban legend is constituted and how it operates in determined society and place / Esta dissertação mapeia, processa e analisa as narrativas populares contemporâneas que circulam no Brasil, a partir de pesquisas bibliográficas e de entrevistas.

Obraz Španělska a Portugalska v anglicky psaných cestopisech druhé poloviny 18. století / Image of Spain and Portugal in English written travelogues in 1750'

Branda, Martin January 2017 (has links)
in English The master thesis is concerned with the analysis and interpretation of English written travelogues of the second half of the 18th century, which described Spain and Portugal. I work with two original texts and one translation from Italian, all texts were popular among their readers. The main goal of the thesis is to create the complex image of both respective countries and their inhabitants, based on the analysis of travelogues. As the fundamental concept of the thesis, I use so-called Black Legend, the negative view of the Iberian Peninsula originating in the 16th century. At the same time, the aim of the thesis is to compare the images in all works and come to more general conclusions about English perception of Spain and Portugal. Keywords: Spain, Portugal, travelogues, image of the Other, Black Legend, Southey, Baretti, Young

Svatojiřská legenda a její odraz v porcelánovém papírmaše

HEJDUSOVÁ, Aneta January 2019 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the legend of St. George, deals with its processing in the Renaissance Florence and presents monuments with this motif from Italy and Czech territory. The aim of the diploma thesis is the interconnection of the theoretical and practical part. Inspiration became the ceramic reliefs made by Renaissance artists, in particular the della Robbia family. The work will be supplemented by an unconventional technique of processing porcelain paper with the motive of St. George. The theoretical part discusses the life of St. George, deals with the mission of the saint and tells the legendary story of victory over the dragon. Also included are documents that provide a deeper analysis of the legend of St. John the Baptist, as well as the iconography that discusses the St George's legend from the point of view of Christian beliefs. In the practical part, the theoretical part will be used for the processing of composite material from paper and porcelain with motive of St. George the dragonslayer.

Bruket av Haslisägnen : i svensk och schweizisk historieskrivning under 1800-talet / The use of the Hasli legend : in Swedish and Swiss history during the 19th century

Norberg, Maja January 2014 (has links)
The aim of this thesis was to compare the use of the Hasli legend in Sweden and Switzerland during the 19th century. The Hasli legend, which derives from the middle ages, talks about Swedes and Frisians that emigrated to the central part of Switzerland. By comparing the use of the myth in the two nations I wanted to analyze how it was used for shaping identities and how the use varied with, and was affected by, the social context. I have studied historians work about the national Swedish and Swiss history, published during the 19th century. I chose the comparative method and have taken the social context and transnational aspects into consideration. The use of the myth was more uniform in Sweden than in Switzerland, but in both countries the myth was related to the nation and its origin. The national identity is emphasized, but is overlapping other identities. In both countries the use of the myth originates from the ideas of nationalism and national romanticism, but while the use of the myth in Sweden can be explained by the Gothicism and the idea of a Scandinavian nation, the use of the myth in Switzerland was a result of the creation of the Swiss nation in the 19th century.

Larsson, Jennie January 2014 (has links)
