Framställningen av samkönade föräldrar i svensk dagspress : En kritisk diskursanalys som jämför tre olika tidsperioder i modern tid / The representation of same-sex parents in Swedish daily press : A critical discourse analysis that compares three different time periods in modern times

Danielsson, Amanda, Olsson, Jessica January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this study was to analyze and critically review how cohabited parents are represented in selected Swedish newspapers during three periods of time. We have conducted a critical discourse analysis and looked at how daily newspapers use the language based on social constructivism. As a power aspect we also used Foucault's power analysis as a theoretical starting point. In the study's results, we saw that the language used in the articles differs depending on the time period they had been published. In the result, we found three general themes that we analyzed: exercise of power within the discourse, norms and categorizations, as well as changes over time. During the years 1992-1993, different expressions were used against same-sex couples, compared to today. In 2002, the focus instead was on the adoption issue. In the later period, 2017-2018, the result showed that the policy took more place in the articles. Same-sex parents also expressed themselves in the media and they described how they still felt excluded in a society dominated by heterosexual norms.

Same-sex parents in San Antonio

Lee, Yi-Mou 15 August 2012 (has links)
San Antonio has the highest percentage of same-sex couples raising children compared to any other major metropolis in the nation. The unlikely emergence of San Antonio as a haven for same-sex parents is tied to many complex issues and themes – it touches on history, religion and race deep in the heart of Texas. Below its seemingly conservative surface, San Antonio has a decidedly liberal undercurrent: Its liberal legal system, a network of Catholic leaders quietly supports the gay families, and the Latino community that presents a tolerant side. The story explores the question: How can San Antonio have such high numbers of gay parents, but still be seen by gay parents as a hostile place to live? That seeming dichotomy speaks to the ongoing tension in the nation where liberals push for civil rights, while conservatives push to preserve traditional family values. The battles in the political, religious and cultural arenas in San Antonio exemplify the longstanding tug of war over family values in this country and might help us understand just what the future holds for same-sex couples in the rest of American society. / text

Andersson, Kristin January 2020 (has links)

The affectivity is the component of the family bond that marks the new personalization of the Family Law and it opens the possibility of the recognition of the union of people of the same sex like family, with the paternity / maternity right. But there is still the image of the formation of the traditional patriarchal family, leaving this way the other settings invisible. Starting from the idea of the fundamental right of the child to the familiar living and considering the family and the school as members of the system of guarantees of the rights of the child and the adolescent, the research aims to observe the daily relations established by the school, as performer of the system of guarantees of the rights of the child and the adolescent, with the same-sex parents family. The hypothesis that guided the research is that in the school context the same-sex family is an invisible reality. The general aim is to analyze the way in which the schools of the state education system NRE / Ponta Grossa - State of Paraná work the demands of the same-sex family considering the school routine and the public policies of education. The research has a qualitative character, based on the hypothetical deductive method. The methodology used is the case study. The content analysis of the collected material was carried out considering the categories: school; family; diversity; same-sex parents family; system of guarantees for the rights of child and adolescents; education for diversity; stigma; stereotype; prejudice; discrimination; visibility / invisibility; exclusion. The results confirm the hypothesis of the invisibility of the same-sex parents family both in part of the legislation, or in the documents and in the school daily routine, demonstrating the challenges that are still present to the children and their families in order to guarantee the right of access and permanence of the child in the school. free from any form of violence originated from the prejudice and the exclusion. The research results showed that school does not know the history of its children, especially its family configuration and it has difficulty in understanding the contemporary family configurations, and it reproduces the hegemonic social patterns. The lack of inclusive practices in the school for the acceptance and recognition of the same-sex parents family results in a failure by the school in fulfilling its function of fully protecting the right of the child to familiar and community living as well as to education, confirming the hypothesis that guided the research, that in the school context same-sex parents family is an invisible reality.

Hur upplever samkönade föräldrar bemötandet i förskola/skola och vården?

Carlsson, Katrine, Viktorsson, Lisa January 2022 (has links)
Samkönade individer exkluderas i vardagliga sammanhang utefter sexualitetens normer. / Same-sex parents often feel excluded in everyday contexts due to the norms of sexuality. The aim of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of how same-sex parents experience treatment in preschool/school and healthcare. The study is based on a qualitative method with semistructured interview questions where five women and five men participated. The interviews have been thematically analyzed. The result presents the respondents' experiences of treatment in preschool/school and healthcare as mostly positive, while some respondents experienced uncomfortable situations in specific contexts. Several of the respondents mention the need for a more norm-critical approach among employees in preschool/school and healthcare in order to include all parents. The study further states that the respondents are confident in themselves and have developed positively pursuant to the identity process, and thus do not lay much importance in inferior treatment and do not experience that a deviation from societal norms have much impact on the individual's selfesteem. The discussion addresses the creation of social categorization and why it still exists in preschool/school and healthcare. One conclusion of this study is that the climate for same sex parents today is considered to be open albeit the heteronormativity is strongly implemented in preschool/school and healthcare which can create exclusion.

Pride and Prejudice : Lesbian Families in Contemporary Sweden / Stolthet och fördom : Lesbiska familjer i dagens Sverige

Malmquist, Anna January 2015 (has links)
Options and possibilities for lesbian parents have changed fundamentally since the turn of the millennium. A legal change in 2003 enabled a same-sex couple  to share legal parenthood of the same child. An additional legal change, in 2005, gave lesbian couples access to fertility treatment within public healthcare in Sweden. The present thesis focuses on families where two women share legal parenthood of their children. It aims to provide knowledge about lesbian parenting couples and their children, and to focus on the interplay between family members within lesbian families, and between family members and their surroundings. Furthermore, the thesis aims to visualize and analyse notions of heteronormativity and homonormativity in contemporary Sweden. The thesis draws on interviews with 118 parents in 61 families, and 12 children in 11 families. The participants’ stories, descriptions, reflections and discourses have been analysed using discursive psychology and thematic analysis. The thesis includes five empirical papers. Paper I focuses on encounters with healthcare professionals prior to and during pregnancy, at childbirth and during the early stages of parenthood. Paper II deals with the participants’ experiences of second-parent adoption processes. Paper III focuses on equality in parenting relations. Paper IV focuses on encounters with fertility clinics within public healthcare. Paper V highlights the children’s reflections and shows how the children talk about fathers and donors.

Same-Sex Parent Families in France: Past, Present, and Future

Griffin, Janna Lee 05 1900 (has links)
This thesis contains four chapters. The first chapter gives an overview of the current situation concerning same-sex parent families in France. This involves discussions of the PACS (Pacte civil de solidarité), adoption, and marriage, as well as the societal influences that caused the massive negative response to the Taubira law. The second chapter goes into more detail concerning portrayals of homosexuality in French media throughout the years. There is a focus, however, on one of the earliest portrayals of lesbianism in French literature: The Nun by Diderot. Lastly, the third chapter involves further explanation of the history of homosexuality and same-sex parent families. This chapter explores these ideas specifically in the context of French history, as well as how conditions for same-sex parent families have changed in recent years. The fourth and final chapter presents conclusions of the research.

Familienpolitik

Menke, Katrin 04 July 2018 (has links)
