This Master's theses focuses on the negotiations on CAM4, a live streaming pornography website. This type of pornography consists of sharing live sexual activities over a webcam with the possibility of interaction between those who watch and the person on the video through an online chat beside the video box. The sexual practices are negotiated with tips that participants pay in exchange for specific activities. Through an ethnography about the use of digital media, I analyze the role of sexuality, the notions of eroticism and the circulation of gender attributes on the negotiations made in the transmissions on the website. I am interested in the dynamics of this environment that produces and circulates pornographic material in a context of the pursuit of the authenticity and new technological possibilities. Thus, I identify the mechanisms by which live streaming pornography is organized and how they compete in the production of difference as well as gender and sex technologies. I also aim to examine how money, sex toys and technological artifacts mobilize specific ways to have pleasure. Finally, I seek to understand how this type of pornography can be distributed in political actions in the field of gender relations and sexuality.

Narrativas audiovisuais e redes de significações sobre gênero e sexualidades nos/com os cotidianos de um curso de formação de professores / Audiovisual narratives and the network of meanings on gender and sexuality at/with the everyday of a teachers training course

The main purpose of this work is to consider the role of gender and sexuality in their connections with a network of knowledge and new significations about the appropriation of the spacestimes of cinema on the teachers formation, developed during the semesters 2012/2 and 2013/1, having as subject the classes of the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro UERJ at the course of Pedagogy at the discipline Research and Pedagogic Practices. The proposal was to investigate the fragments of the weaving of a network of knowlwdgesdoings about gender and sexuality created with different uses of film narratives on multiples contexts insideoutside UERJ, in an attempt to perceive and discuss them as they are being transformed and intertwined as parts of the every day of the classrooms of the teachers formation course. In order to perceive fragments from such network on the spacestimes of this research-intervention I have created forums of conversations to bring up memories of films. In these activities I could realize how some meanings are felt, thought and negotiated by the teachers in their formation. The analysis I have developed, intended to realize how these teachers have taken over the knowledge and meanings contained in these films which have been selected by them as important to the point of changing their lives somehow, and how such knowledge expressed themselves in theirs reflections about the pedagogic practices, educational sensitivities and subjectivities. Other methodological procedures have been developed in order to question and produce the knowledge intertwined among these networks, producing new and different connections, such as texts reading, films exhibitions, debates and the denaturalization of the hegemonic way of science making and schools contents, with the purpose of encourage new conversational topics and thus the possibility of engendering other new possible meanings about gender and sexualities. The research I have developed insert itself at the tendency of researches in the Education field known as at/of/with the every day studies and therefore understand that the teachers to be are, above all, subjects and co-authors of the developed study. With this work I affirm that the formation of the teachers is never concluded but is always in a constant process of production. Besides, I expect that some seeds will germinate from this constant search on both sides the students and I, considering the prospects of establishing fairer relations, fighting off the processes of violence and exclusion motivated by differences of gender and sexualities. Finally, I propose that different uses of audiovisual productions may create new ways of inventing sensibilities and ethical-aesthetical existences.

Genre et Classe : poétiques gay dans l'espace public de l'Espagne postfranquiste (1970-1988) / Gender and Class : gay poetics in postfranquist Spain’s public sphere (1970-1988) / Género y clase : poéticas gays en el espacio público de la España posfranquista (1970-1988)

Chamouleau, Brice 24 November 2014 (has links)
If the democratization of Spain after the fall of the Franco regime is exemplary, then why do criminal records indicate that repressive actions have sometimes been conducted against homosexual subjectivities in Barcelona until the late 1980's ? If one puts aside the epic memory of the LGBT fights that took place after the end of Francoism, other sexual subjectivities appear which refuse to accept the Spanish Constitution of 1978. This study looks into the moralization of the vocabulary of the Spanish democratization and attempts to highlight the moral economy of the democratic « Transition », whose carrier is a theoretical subject, the « middle class ». It shows an important symbolic capital at the time when Spain enters consumption capitalism, starting from the 1960's. Even though consensus is the key term of the Transition, not every Spaniard experiences it the same way : for some gays, it is an « institutionalised barbarism ». These voices and their political repression, which has not been studied so far, help to demonstrate that the « private sphere », where minority sexualities have been tolerated since the 1978 Constitution, is akin to a segmentation of social and sexual domains which aims at separating, making a disciplinary use of the concepts « publicness » and « privacy », what political homosexual subjectivities held together. The moral values of Franco's middle class contaminate the languages of democracy, especially those of Human Rights. Thus, they protect certain subjects while exposing others to a political violence of the « Transition » which has been forgotten. This study aims at questioning one particular postulate of today's western democracies, which guarantee fundamental rights like that to « privacy » : in it's context of enunciation, right after the end of Francoism, it bears a disciplinary intent against those resisting the democratic consensus. Persecuted by the government, they became « marginals » and, often in the 1980's, drug addicts and prostitutes : they are not entitled to the rights they fought for, namely the free use of one's body and sexuality. Seen through the filter of a post-social history of the « sexual revolutions » in the 1970's, the queer paradigm, which sometimes grants autonomy to sexualities, does not show that all subjects did not access this moralized right in Spain. This study discusses and historicizes these categories which underlie the recognition logics of today’s sexual minorities.

From provocative conjectures of the work The Sexual Contract, the theories of the social contract, the thesis aims to present and discuss the intertwining of social contract with the sexual contract. It consists of an argumentative strategy that shows the interdependence between the idea of individuals, families and sexualities in contemporary times. The interdisciplinary theoretical framework to seek refuge in Social Psychology and the Social Sciences not neutral in terms of gender. Generating questions summon: What is to be individual? And which results in contemporary conviction that appointment? That sexuality is spoken? What is family? A qualitative methodological design with the technique of multiple case studies highlights the social representations of three (03) participants families residing in the city of Salvador,BA: Sigma family consisting of father mother and two daughters, the Delta family, stepfather, mother and daughter. And the Gama family, consisting of mother and child. There are six women and three men aged between 27 and 64 years old, educated and belong to the urban middle social segment. The life story was the technique that took the main data, analyzed by the technique of discourse analysis. The thesis presents the proposal of the intertwining between contracts and adds the knowledge of individuals, families and sexualities, with representations and life stories of mothers, fathers, son and daughters, their experiences in childhood, youth, dating, romantic relationships, sexual, marriage and remarriage. The results indicate that nowadays the 'contracting individuals' are fragmented. There are conflicting sexualities named for historical perspectives and scripted sexualities. The idea of sexuality and families are chanceladas by interlace of contracts. The intertwining of the social contract with sexual widen understanding of the different ways that present individuals, families and sexualities. There interlace echoes of contracts in rules and regulations that involve building links, feelings, and seems to create a kind of league in the relations between the sexes. Theoretically it is my suggestion that interlace the echoes of the social contract with the sexual are in gender relations among individuals, families and sexualities. The Sigma families, Delta and Gamma seem very close to interlace and outcome of contracts. But does not mean that social individuals are completely intertwined. Its action may be in and out of that intertwine, undermining its hegemony, giving rise to the problem, the complaint of an asymmetric condition of social life.

This study has as main objective the investigation of the complexity of codes of identification and sociabilities established by lesbian women in a bar in the city of Campina Grande, interior of Paraíba. The establishment in question, called Cantinho JJ, is today the only public bar mainly composed by lesbians in the city. Its history is also inspired by a lesbian circuit that existed between bars in the mid-1970s and 1990s in the municipality, briefly presented in this writing. The problematizations and concepts that give rise to our reflections on the questions related to the limitations of the identity categories, experiences and sexualities of our interlocutors are based on discursively constructed notions about the production of truths about sex and the determination of heteronormativity as a political regime that goes beyond the scope of sexual and gender relations. We seek to understand to what extent the interlocutors of this work subjectivate, subvert and reiterate the dictates of “straight” normativity. To that end, we anchored ourselves in provocations by, among others, Michel Foucault and Judith Butler. In order to reflect on the spaces covered and observed in the field work, we used the concepts of piece, path and circuit, coined by the Brazilian anthropologist José G. C. Magnani. The data were obtained from the interactions provided by the participant observation in Cantinho JJ, recorded in field diary, as well as through interviews, which, among other things, point simultaneously to different approaches and distances with theoretical and activist utterances, especially with regard to conceptions of identity and visibility. From the research and analysis carried out, we infer that the way in which the group studied deals with sexuality and visibility, diverges, in terms of claim, from the discourses of some lesbofeminismos. In addition, we perceive subversions by interlocutors engendered within inevitably contradictory contexts, so that they transgress the constructs of heterosexuality and reiterate the dictates of heteronormativity, often in the same movement.

Considering the discourse as a reverberation of speeches preceded (FOUCAULT, 2014) and pondering about its effects, this paper proposes to analyze the meaning given to the concept of homosexuality, according to the discourse of Medicine graduation course's internal students of Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. In order to do so, the internal students were asked about the understanding which concerning to the concept of homosexuality and they were questioned about the acquired influences to compose this discourse, considering the theoretical contributions of the graduation in Medicine. Methodologically, this is a qualitative research, whose empirical data were analyzed sociologically through the theoretical reference about social constructionism and sexuality and gender's studies. The results of the research analysis point out that the medicine internal students' discourses understand homosexuality from biological and/or social causes that determine it - with emphasis on biological determinism. In addition, the influences for the composition of this discourse started, massively, from common sense and the graduation course did not contribute, directly, to the formation of these statements, since there are no discussions concerning this theme, except for the hidden curriculum. Thereby, this work throws reflections on the deficiencies present in the speech of the future doctors about the homosexuality, besides generating reflections about the curricular structure of the UFRN's Medicine course.

Cardoso, Helma de Melo 20 June 2016 (has links)
This work has as main goal to analyze how the thematic areas of the body, gender and sexuality are being introduced in the formative practices of degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology in Sergipe - IFS/Campus Aracaju. A methodological proposal from the post-critical perspective was built, leaving the normative research and aiming to show that the social phenomena are multiple and heterogeneous. The instruments used were the documental analysis of the Institutional Pedagogical Political Project (IPPP) and Pedagogical Projects of the Courses (PPC) for degrees in Mathematics and Chemistry of IFS, a semi structured interview with the professor at the discipline of Education and Diversity and Focus Group, with the participation of five undergraduate students from the last year of courses. As results, it was possible to infer that the official documents of the degrees expose positive and negative aspects. As a positive point, it offers a discipline with the theme of diversity and also a theoretical concept that presents notions of gender inequalities. And as negative aspect, the silence regarding the normalization of bodies and sexualities is highlighted. Regarding the representations of the students, it was found that are crossed by medical, biological and religious discourses, which are pervaded by heteronormativity, strengthening the dichotomous view of body, gender and sexuality, but also conceptions marked by contradictions and upheavals. It was evident that had no contact with the subject during the degree course, in an official way, as content, debates and issues, but the curriculum of these degrees is not exempted from the issue because it is crossed, in a naturalized and silently way, by normative speeches about gender and sexuality, binary, homophobic discourses, which bring a dichotomous logic of genres. And that these future teachers, for not having discussions about the theme in the initial training, will lead possibly to the teaching practice the reproduction of sexist knowledge and gendered curriculum.

The interlocution of this document with the rest produced by the same author - books, reports, among others - evidenced a egocentric personality, which in an ingenious way built up a heroic image for themselves. Legitimized by their peers, by historiography and especially the imperial regime, Couto enters the pages of history as the great hero of the War of Paraguay. But if in public boasted an image of strong and courageous man, in his diary brought out moments of anguish and fears, above all when was considering the possibility of becoming ill. Furthermore, her writing secret also reveals a look interpretive and original about your oneiric universe - soaked a homoerotic desire - challenger in relation to moral values of the nineteenth century.

Thinking about the discursive construction of the subject and its relationship with self, pleasures and discoveries, I propose the question: what processes of subjectivity, gender relations and sexuality are present in physical education classes, maintaining a dialogue between teacher education and practice in schools through the discipline of Supervised BSc. I bring the inspiration for Michel Foucault as a tool to question and discuss the knowledge of me approaching post-structuralist perspective in which the discourses are understood as social and historical construction. My interest is the knowledge about the conditions graduating teacher in a process stage in the construction of subject is involved in the learning experienced in social and historical trajectory. I discuss issues of gender and sexuality to the formation of a physical education teacher and actions in schools. I point elements to think about the teaching knowledge pluralized, discussing teacher development, both personal and professional. For data collection the survey observations were made, and daily field reports as foci of research both in lessons of discipline Internship practices as schools, concerned with what is built in the discourses of school and on the banks of the university to the issues gender and sexuality. In this sense, a point highlighted was the investment in contextualizing and questions in the process of training, the trainees who took the known places where the training stage is associated with certainties. The research aims to contribute to the reflective path of education in order to increase the sense of subjectivities, gender and sexuality in teacher education and its relationships with schools.
