Andersson, Emma, Sjölin, Torbjörn January 2017 (has links)
Title:” Now I took his child, what will he do with mine?” A qualitative study on threat and violence aimed at social workers within child protective service. Authors:  Emma Andersson and Torbjörn Sjölin. Supervisor:  Peter Hultgren. Assessor: Barzoo Eliassi. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine how social workers within child protective service understand and experience threat and violence aimed at them in their profession and how these understandings and experiences affects their well-being. The study will provide an understanding of the subject at hand and can also lead way for new research areas of how to improve the well-being of social workers within this field.   Method: A qualitative approach based on semistructured interviews has been used as method in this study. To collect empirical material seven currently working social workers from three different municipalities in the same region were interviewed. Theory: The theoretical points of this thesis has been Berger and Luckmanns theories about social construction, theory of social cognition and a model produced in the writing of how interaction between experience and understanding affects the well-being. The different theories and approaches has been a valuable tool to analyze the empirical material gathered in the study. Results: The result of this study is divided in different themes based on the purpose of the study. Our results indicate that social worker within child protective service consider threat and violence as occurring within their profession and that this perception has a negative impact on their well-being. Even though social workers consider threat and violence as not acceptable at work and perceive threat as a part of their job they continue to fulfill their obligations at work. The main explanation, found in this study, is that they consider the well-being of children as higher valued than their own.

Extension du domaine de la finance ? : partenariats public privé (PPP) et "financiarisation" de la commande publique : une proposition d'analyse par la sociologie économique / PPPs, or the financialisation of public procurement ? : a new "financial market" analysed through economic sociology

Deffontaines, Géry 07 November 2013 (has links)
Ce dessein passe par une analyse en termes de sociologie économique menée à plusieurs niveaux / Committed (Hired) on the occasion of the introduction in France of contracts of state commission of type(chap) "Public Private Partnership" [ PPP] - She (it) was introduced shortly after the promulgation of the Prescription of June 17th, 2004 creating "Partnership agreements" - our search (research) explores the PPP, the modalities(methods) of complex state commission with financial characteristics, as they establish (constitute) an emerging market for financial actors, suppliers of capital and techniques of financing, potentially valuable carriers, ways of reasoning, and economic, exogenous logics to the world of the state commission

Goebell, Carsten 06 July 2017 (has links)
This qualitative research project examines the everyday life of three boys with Fragile X syndrome in their special education classrooms. Fragile X syndrome is the leading inherited cause of intellectual disability and is associated with a specific behavioral phenotype and cognitive and physical characteristics. Utilizing ethnographic participant observation, the specific context in which the Fragile X syndrome becomes “visible” will be analyzed. This context is mainly shaped by the institutional and social conditions on the level of the classroom with its participants (peers and educators). Individuals with Fragile X syndrome need to be viewed not only as living under a genetic condition, but as members of social groups and communities who act in relation to socially and culturally ordered expectations. The understanding of the students’ performative acts as part of their communication abilities can initiate the understanding of the behavioral phenotype within its context. This understanding of Fragile X syndrome as a social category may lead to a successful organization of everyday school life.

Leiberfahrung – Körperbetrachtung – Wirklichkeit

Behrisch, Birgit 24 January 2013 (has links)
This study focusses on the circumstances of marriage and quasi-marital couples, which experience together diability in later couple lifetime by occurence of chronical illness or impairment of one of the couples members. The contentwise question is on one hand targeted at the social practice of work processes and tasks of couples related to the life change through the occurence of impairment. On the other hand the study demands on the couples interpretation of this experience. The data basis consists of fifteen narrative interview cycles each containing one interview with the couple plus one interview with each marriage partner. Here the situation of a suddenly interruption of everyday life through an event of accident or illness has been contrasted with the situation of chronic ailment with its progressing loss of physical power. The study approach of interviewing, analysing and interpretation founds on the principles of the Grounded Theory Methodology. The results are presented twofold. Firstly seven case reconstructions clarify the couple''s coping with physical body change in the context of biography, capabilities and resources, and physicality and illustrate similarities and differences of the couple’s topics. After this a conception of the couple''s construction of reality in the case of an impairment experience were tendered. It describes the couple’s experience of change, disability and normality as a experience of the physical and functional body, which cannot be extricated from cultural and socio-political framing. Specifically, the main topic of the couple’s negotation concern on the one hand the self-activity of the partner with impairment and on the other hand the availability of the other part and his / her duty to compensate for both the lack of paid work and the increasing amount of time spent for everyday life. Significant is the fact that in this process challenge central positions of the couple’s intimacy and privateness.

The theorethical approach adopted in this study is the Socio-historical Psychology, that based the analysis and interpretation process which conceives the human constitution as a social and historical construction. This work is also based on childhood critical studies that allowed the comprehension of the childhood as a social construction, and the child as active social actor, with the right to speak and as a culture producer and a subject of right. The data was produced through an individual dialogue with two children: Ludmilla, 8 years old, private school student, resident of São Paulo city, in a neighborhood characterized with a low rate of social exclusion, and Samira, 9 years old, public school student, resident of São Paulo city in a neighborhood with a high rate of social exclusion. All the work has been recorded, transcripted, systematized and analysed according to the proposal of González Rey (2005). In the analysis of the dialogues, it was possible to unveil the particularities of each child, at the same time that it stablished discussion about the childhood conception and the maintenance of the social inequality. The first results indicated to the existence of different meanings to the concept of childhood. The first conception introduces a childhood associated to a more coletive experience, in which the child has more oportunities to lead a wide range of social roles; the second conception, socially more appreciated, presents a childhood that focus on the formation of a future adult, by adding value the process of schooling as a way of social rise, in which the daily child's life is organized by the goal of the school formation. The social inequality has shown a relevant aspect of the childhood differentation. The study pointed that there´s a need of production of future researches that may develop these childhood meanings and turn the variety of childhood more visible / Esta dissertação objetiva aproximar-se das significações sobre a infância constituídas nas vivências cotidianas de criança urbanas, residentes no município de São Paulo, em uma sociedade desigual.

Oliveira, Juliana Aparecida de 21 May 2007 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-29T13:31:32Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Juliana A Oliveira.pdf: 795655 bytes, checksum: cd71278ab84392899b8db3021d0e1f1b (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007-05-21 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The Reform of Psychiatric services in Brazil is in process of consolidation and the transition from treatment at psychiatric hospitals to rehabilitation and shelter services is still under way. As such, due to a variety of reasons, some clients of these services prefer to remain at psychiatric hospitals instead of returning to their homes. Research was carried out at a psychiatric hospital attached to SUS (Sistema Único de Saúde) and located in the city of São Paulo, in order to better understand the reasons for the resistance to disinterment. Information was gathered with clients and professionals using a diversity of research strategies (observations, conversations, interviews and participation in routine activities) during the visits made to the institution between August 2005 and March 2006. Interviews were carried out with patients that, according to the various health professionals working at this institution, externalized the "desire to remain in the internment" and with a Charity Sister that assumed the role of "spokesman" for the professional team. The analysis was base on Discursive Social Psychology in dialogue with a constructionist perspective. The desire to remain at the hospital was based on multiple factors, including lack of financial conditions, of housing, family, work and social relationships, as well as the progressive weakening of these social bonds due to frequent psychiatric internments. Moreover, the psychiatric hospital seems to function as a protective shell from a society that is intolerant with regards to mental illness. However, the desire to remain in hospital seems to be more related to lack of alternatives than to internment itself as the people that were interviewed often were sad and their speech presented many lapses and contradictions indicating paradoxical positions regarding staying in and leaving.

"Diverso do que é": negociações sobre o diagnóstico de "doença mental" em conversações intra-familiares / "Different from what it is": negotiations on the diagnosis of "mental illness" in intra-family conversations

Lisboa, Milena Silva 05 November 2008 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-29T13:32:18Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Milena Silva Lisboa.pdf: 1166144 bytes, checksum: 2ffcf0443932a31cced2f59a29c24124 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2008-11-05 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / Labeling a person as mentally ill is an extremely complex and controversial process, involving social concepts and psychiatric knowledge about mental illness . The analysis of the process through which Psychiatry captured, historically, the notion of madness and still grasps and encloses it allows us to comprehend the related and social nature of mental illness . Labeling Theory considers mental illness as a historically constructed label, imputed to those who present deviant behavior, whose performances violate established patterns of sociability. Through psycho-sociological reflections about the recognition process of deviations such as mental illness , this research proposes to analyze the ways in which family members conversationally negotiate meaning faced with social rule-breaking and the later labeling process. Labeling Theory and Conversational Analysis offer theoretical and methodological tools to approach daily family conversations, considering how important moments of the social labeling process are dealt with conversationally. Interviews and free form meetings were carried out with the family of a person who had recently initiated the labeling process of mental illness . The family s ethno-methods were stressed, pointing out the different patterns of interaction constructed dialogically by the participants when referring to different moments of the labeling process. The results suggest that the social labeling of the participant was still taking place and, within this process, new meanings were elaborated daily by the family in its interactions. Despite resistance to labeling which emerged in defense of macumba (Afro-Brazilian witchcraft) as an alternative label, the family s comprehension about his suffering started to be referred to by the label of depression , in an approximation of psychiatric comprehension. These a posteriori re-elaborations suggest that social actors converse retroactively about social labeling moments, reconstructing meaning at each interaction. Such gradual and dynamic construction points to the importance of conversation in elaborating a self marked by the stigma involved in the label of mentally ill or, alternatively, to the elaboration of new comprehensions based on the acceptance of differences and care / A rotulação social de uma pessoa como doente mental é um processo extremamente complexo e controverso que envolve conhecimentos psiquiátricos e concepções sociais acerca do adoecimento psíquico.

Schwerz, João Paulo January 2017 (has links)
The thesis uses the concept of landscape to discuss questions related to the fields of Architecture and Urbanism and of Urban and Regional Planning, focusing essentially on heritage aspects. It assumes that the landscape, while social construction, conveys values that are not usually considered by professional practice but that effectively participate in the creation and/or maintenance of identities, and are thus essential for the success of the projects and plans in different scales of activity. The research sustains that such values are present in the usual, daily landscapes, evoked here as ordinary landscapes, in contrast to those areas of the territory, which are traditionally highlighted as patrimony by their exceptional character. The investigation considers a philosophical-historical approach with the concept of western landscape, identifying structural frameworks for its study, from which derive the parameters of action in disciplines related to the thesis. The investigation also discusses distinct methods of reading and interpreting the landscape of different realities to finally construct an interpretation about the landscapes of Agudo, Rio Grande do Sul, from its technical and common representations, indicating another perspective for the professional practices directly involved. Finally, it shows the decisive role of ordinary landscapes in the conformation of territorial identity, calling for a broader, integrated and active attitude towards heritage and landscape in the field of urban and regional planning and architecture and urbanism. Mediální konstrukce reality na příkladu MS v hokeji - Bratislava 2011 / The medial construction of reality: example 2011 IIHF World Champioship

Staňová, Petra January 2012 (has links)
This thesis deals with designing of reality during the Ice Hockey World Championship 2011 in Bratislava, for which Robert Zaruba devised a unique project built on the myth of friendship and cohesion of the Czechs and the Slovaks. The theoretical basis of this work is the social construction of reality, according to which the reality in our minds is shaped by society. In the analysis of the structure of the broadcast channel CT 4, I am trying to find out how much does ice hockey push on viewer's mind and what is the amount of the Czech Republic and Slovakia national teams involvement. As a means of construction and reconstruction of the fictional world, the world created by its author, narrative is applied. The narratives typical for the structure of the CT4 are descibed in the next part in order to find a narrative that could serve as a template for the narrative of the championship. The final form of the narrative is shaped both by the narrator (presenter, commentator), who verbally describes what is happening and also the director whois responsible for the visual composition of the story. Features used in brodcasting, whose final analysis leads to the ability of distinction of the characters creating on the basis of similarity and context of highlighted object or those having arisen from anagreement among...
