Syftet med studien är att bidra med ny kunskap om hur de estetiska lärprocesserna används i förskolans verksamhet, samt hur pedagogerna förstår begreppet estetiska lärprocesser och även vad de har för intention med att använda sig av estetiska lärprocesser, men också vilket lärande som pedagogerna anser kan möjliggöras med hjälp av dessa. Studiens empiri samlades in genom semistrukturerad intervju som innebär att den som håller i intervjun har färdiga frågeställningar som ska besvaras samt att den som intervjuar kan vara flexibel med frågornas ordningsföljd. Genom att välja semistrukturerade intervjuer fick vi möjlighet att ställa följdfrågor som uppstod under den pågående intervjun. Våra respondenter hade även möjligheten att utveckla dess tankar om det ämne som togs upp. Det var sex pedagoger från olika förskolor som var med och medverkande. Studiens resultat analyserades med hjälp av den sociokulturella teorin samt tidigare forskning för att synliggöra pedagogernas förståelse om de estetiska lärprocesserna. Resultatet lyfter fram att begreppet estetiska lärprocesser uppfattas olika samt att pedagogernas kunskaper och förståelse för dessa ämnen skiljer sig åt. Studien har även bidragit med kunskap om vikten av att kunna använda sig av alla de estetiska lärprocesserna i förskolans verksamhet, för att stödja alla barn och dess olika behov.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur förskollärare arbetar med de estetiska ämnena bild, musik, dans och drama. Vi ville även ta reda på deras uppfattningar av arbetet och om deras erfarenheter hade någon påverkan på arbetssättet. Vi använde oss av kvalitativa intervjuer som skickades ut till respondenterna via mail. Resultatet visade att förskollärarna undervisar om, i, med och genom de olika estetiska ämnena, men att det varierar. Det framgår också att undervisning kring ämnet musik prioriteras och det som visade sig vara minst förekommande är undervisning kring ämnet dans. Det visade sig både i tidigare forskning och i resultatet av vår studie att förskolepersonal önskar ytterligare utbildning inom de estetiska ämnena och att den nuvarande förskollärarutbildningen saknar viktiga delar inom området. Slutsatsen vi dragit av vår studie är att det behövs en upplevelsebaserad vidareutbildning inom de estetiska ämnena, för såväl förskollärarstudenter som för verksamma förskollärare. Vidareutbildningen bör syfta till att praktiskt få ta del av lärandesituationer utifrån ett barnperspektiv, detta för att få en så stor förståelse som möjligt för barns olika inlärningssätt.

In this thesis I look at possible implications of the philosophical use of sight metaphors as rendered visible in the philosophy of Iris Murdoch. Through Murdoch’s reading of Plato, and together with the perspectives added by Ludwig Wittgenstein, Paul de Man, Carolyn Korsmeyer, and Mats Persson, I argue that some contemporary philosophy as shaped by science and logic might be partially blind to essential aspects of human life and human awareness. I show that this partial blindness becomes visible in an inability to acknowledge and understand the philosophical importance of that which cannot be seen from a distance, and I argue that this may be due to a modern understanding of clarity. I claim that this understanding of clarity essentially differs from that of Plato and that it becomes particularly evident in Plato’s reliance on metaphors and allegories, not as unclear and obfuscating aspects to be untangled, but as depicting essential dimensions of the inexhaustible complexity of life. I finally argue that it is vital to recover and to philosophically consider these obscurer aspects if philosophy is to stay relevant to actual human beings living in the muddle that is everyday life.

Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka hur lärare tolkar estetik i förhållande till undervisning i naturvetenskap i åk 1 – 3. Estetik nämns i mycket korta ordalag i värdegrunden och kursplanerna i Lgr 11, men mer utförligt i Skolverkets kommentarmaterial i biologi, fysik och kemi, där begreppet ”estetiska dimensioner” används. Studiens frågeställningar handlade om estetiska dimensioner, estetiska erfarenheter, känslor och estetik i relation till naturvetenskaplig undervisning. Frågeställningarna undersöktes genom kvalitativa intervjuer med tio verksamma lärare. Studiens resultat visade att lärarna som deltog i studien inte var insatta i kommentarmaterialen, men att lektionsmomenten de beskrev och deras reflektioner både om naturvetenskap i allmänhet och om undervisning i naturvetenskap stod i nära relation till de estetiska dimensioner som beskrivs i kommentarmaterialen och som forskare ringar in som viktiga för barns inlärningsprocesser. Vilka ämnesinnehåll i NO som lärarna betecknade som estetiska differentierade mellan olika individer, men att naturvetenskapen har en inneboende estetik var samtliga på olika sätt, mer eller mindre uttalat, överens om. Studiens slutsats är att en ökad medvetenhet om vad estetik i naturvetenskaplig undervisning kan innebära skulle hjälpa lärare att på ett mer självklart sätt inkludera och utveckla den här sidan av undervisningen.

Purpose: This is a report about urban planning and specifically on passages with lost spaces. The report aims to analyze and evaluate a walking-/cycling-/exercise-path in the middle of Jönköping from an attractiveness perspective. The area should be able to provide inspiration and guidance in the renovation and development of other similar routes around Sweden. The aim of the report is to create a proposal on how the existing path in Jönköping can be improved, by adding a new attractive function to it and. Method: The methods chosen for this study is a combination of interviews, observations, literature studies and document analysis. Interviews have been conducted together with the public to get a picture of how the path is being used today, but also with experts within the subject to gain a broader knowledge on how a path should be formed. The observations were made by counting the numbers of people using the path to support the document analysis. The literature study was the most basic of the report and resulted in a broad knowledge of the important parts of the path and what to consider when designing a walking-/cycling-/exercise-path. Findings: The study resulted in creating a detail in the form of a wooden deck to improve and increase the social function of the path. As the path is close to Jönköping University and has a fantastic view over the lake, more seating areas were created and a more protected environment against the busy road that runs along the entire route. A clear separation and division between different speeds has been considered and applied in the results. To make the place more appealing a variation of vegetation and lightning were also implemented to the path. Implications: Through careful analysis from interviews, observations, literature study and document analysis, the report concludes with the preparation of a proposal on how the path can be designed for future use. The most basic conclusions of the study were: A clear and a good separation contributes to a more safe and secure environment.  Lighting is one of the most important aspects to think of when planning for a more safety place.  Having more functions can have an impact and create a more appealing and vibrant place. Limitations: The report will not consider all the factors on how a path can be more attractive, but the work will focus on an attractive environment from three different perspectives, which is safety and security, aesthetics and functionality.The report's main research strategy will be qualitative but will also be combined with some quantitative approaches. Most of the authors' data will be collected through qualitative interviews with the people using the path but also interviews with educated urban planners and with architects and within the field. There is also a quantitative aspect in the data collection and the route will be analyzed based on observations and statistics from the municipality.

Det finns tydliga rekommendationer för att värmeöverförande vinyl kan appliceras på polyester- eller bomullstextilier och hur lång tid med vilken temperatur man ska använda. Men det finns ingen information att hitta om hur resultatet blir om man applicerar vinylen på andra texturer än släta ytor eller värmekänsliga material. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka vad som sker med det estetiska uttrycket och hur man kan applicera värmeöverförande vinyl på olika textila material med ett hållbart resultat. Undersökningen är uppdelad i två faser där första delen undersöker om det är möjligt att få vinylen att fästa på olika texturer och material. I detta experiment visar resultatet att det är möjligt och att rekommendationerna för vinylen bör vidgas men att det går diskutera vidare vad som är ett hållbart resultat. I den andra delen har jag tittat på de estetiska aspekterna där jag undersökt hur vinylens uttryck påverkats av textilens textur. Resultatet visar att vinylen påverkas av textilen, inte bara av dess textur utan även beroende på hur tunn eller tjock textilen är. Genom att välja olika typer av textiler kan man påverka vinylens uttryck, om den är tung/lätt, blank/matt eller slät/ojämn.

Martin Scorsese expressed dissatisfaction stating that superhero movies lacks uniqueness and emotional and psychological depth. In his opinion, these movies depict spectacle rather than character. Scorsese is not alone in his view - this has been a general opinion among film critics for decades. Justin Wyatt examines the recipe for commercial success in his book High concept: Movies and marketing in Hollywood from 1994. Film theorist Kristin Thompson however, denounces the idea that High Concept or post-classicism changes structures in narrative. This thesis examines visual style and intertextuality in three films released in 2019: Avengers: Endgame, Hellboy and Joker. Are there similarities and/or differences in relation to Wyatt’s theories? All three movies use style and intertextuality to tell their stories and they all have excess scenes to please the audience visually. However, they still use classic Hollywood narrative with three acts and cause-and-effect storylines.

With this degree project we have executed a design process to develop climbing holds, with focus on aesthetics and ergonomics through a sustainable material. Climbing as a sport is continuously growing more and more by each year. Studies show that climbing has positive effects on stress and depression, as well as improving your self-confidence and self-esteem. We have seen a need in improving the aesthetics, ergonomics and materials of the climbing holds represented on the market. Through studies of aesthetics, colour and form we have laid a ground to evolve the aesthetics of climbing holds. The majority of all climbing holds on the market today are made of thermosetting plastics, which are bad for the environment because of the difficulties of recycling. We have explored the possibilities of replacing these thermosets with a material that has similar properties but with a lower environmental impact.  We present eight different climbing holds with dynamic shapes inspired by architecture and climbers' own experiences from climbing. We have through our design process based the final result on ergonomic facts and literature. We have chosen to conceptualise one of these prototypes with birch plywood which has a high durability. The effects of the different layers to the plywood gives the climbing hold a unique aesthetic touch.

This paper analyzes two paintings by the British artist Gwen John. The purpose is to investigate how the two paintings The brown teapot and Portrait of Mrs Atkinson communicate performatively with the viewer and whether individual picture elements can be thought of as metaphors for a flow of time. Theoretically, the study is based on the concepts of performativity and temporality to create a discursive framework that is then used to ask questions that seek to answer hypotheses in accordance with the purpose formulation. One conclusion is that both paintings appears to place the beholder outside the image and that limits the viewer's active response. In the portrait of Mrs Atkinson, it is also not possible to meet the model's gaze, which creates further distance to the viewer. Both paintings are interpreted as an expression of a slow flow of time, mainly by the way they exclude the viewer from an active and direct space to respond to, but instead offering a contemplative and reflective passive role as a beholder.
