Proyecto Kallistei

Cabada Cruz, Josselyn Ingebar, Landa Lizárraga, Linda Nicoll, Orellana Zevallos, Mauricio Mathew, Sotelo Oviedo, Rubi Alessandra, Vilela Espiritu, Xiomara Said 12 November 2020 (has links)
According to a World Air Quality report, Peru is currently ranked 22 in the Ranking of the Most Polluted Countries in the World, and Lima, the capital of Peru, is also mentioned as the eighth most polluted city in Latin America. This is due to the little, or sometimes no, recycling alternative in the country, since there are only 12 recycling companies that recycle waste, but they are not enough to process what is thrown daily, approximately 23 thousand tons. In the last year, paper production for both local consumption and export grew by 20.21%, which meant the deforestation of more than 100,000 hectares of trees. On the other hand, illegal mining has contributed to this by logging, on average, 173 hectares per month and using strong chemicals on the land, causing great damage to the country. From this, the idea of Kallistei arises, a business that seeks to create a new recycling alternative. As a value proposition, Kallistei offers eco-friendly products and employment to two segments that are in the informal sector due to the lack of fair and flexible job offers. The target audience is made up of women between the ages of 15 to 55 from NSE A, B and C who buy jewelry with an eco-friendly trend. The channels through which Kallistei will approach its audience will be through: social networks, website, delivery and sales at fairs. / Trabajo de investigación

I like it dirty

Pontén, Stina January 2018 (has links)
Using dirt and cleaning as a point of departure, I have examined how categorization and intentionality affects our perception of value. The work is partly performative in its nature where this performativity sets the limelight on the transition between categories: From dirt to craft, from irrational behaviour to art. In the artistic process, I have used coffee rings on table cloths, shoeprints on wallpapers and  the act of mopping as a means of questioning. Through this, I also reveal and question hierarchies in society. The essay discusses and theoretically relates to the artistic work.

A Spectacle and Nothing Strange

King, Taylor Z 01 January 2019 (has links)
Working through methods of abstraction and comedic mimicry I choreograph awkwardly balanced sculpture with objects of adornment as a means to defuse personal sensitivities surrounding my experiences of gender, desire, and home. The research that follows is concerned with the adjacent, the in between, above and underneath, because I feel that this kind of looking means that you are, to some degree, aware of what lies at the edges. Maybe this is what Gertrude Stein means to act as though there is no use in a center—because this concerns a way of relating, though there are many things in the room. ‘A spectacle and nothing strange’ is an arrangement of gestures, of made difference, of kinships, of orientations and possible futures, sustained tension, coded adornment, big dyke energy, shifts in hardness, leaning softness, much more than flowers, ...and in any case there is sweetness and some of that.

Histoire du verre d’époque gallo-romaine dans le nord-est de la France / A History of Gallo-Roman Glass in the North-East of France

Leblond, Caroline 17 December 2014 (has links)
This PhD thesis is devoted to the findings of glass material (recipients, small objects and architectural glass) dated to the Gallo-roman era in Mandubian (Alésia), Lingon (Langres et Mirebeau), and Sequanian (Mandeure-Mathay) territories, situated in Burgundy and Frank-County. In Antiquity, this area constituted one of the main crossroads of North-Eastern Gaul, a situation which is corroborated by the features of the findings glass in the region. It is composed of numerous imports from the Rhone basin, western Switzerland, the Rhine region and even Italy and the Eastern Mediterranean. However the present investigation of the available repertory of shapes and of certain elements representative of distinctive glassmakers indicates that the needs in glass vessel must have been primarily fulfilled by regional workshops. Moreover a confrontation of the different ensembles of from sites of various nature (domestic, handicraft, religious, funerary) indicates that vessel of common usage were specifically chosen to meet particular needs or practices. In this way, a comparative study supported by a statistical analysis of glass ensembles contributes to the characterization of archeological sites.

spår

Hiredal, Sandra January 2020 (has links)
In a place that has been abandoned I have collected the human-made traces. Preserving the perishability of places and people. Saving the small memory. To hold close and pass on to the next. Placing them in a jewelry context where we may care for them more tenderly. To approach the people through adornment and wearing. I don't want to physically mark anyone, but I still want to come close. A piercing of the clothes: brooches. You who left it. I who collected. Next one to wear. Where all of us become involved and equally important. With the traces taken from the place, I add my own imprint in the craftsmanship of the jewelry. Each brooch fragile and where the next one, the wearer, will become part of our traces and history. Each brooch with a part of us and in transformation. Traces can be left, and memories preserved. They can be passed on through the visible, the tangible, the sound and the anecdotes. They can be experienced or relived when we feel, listen and see. Therefore, I needed to pass on the traces in several ways. Through the brooches and through film. For more people to take part of. Where the next one can see, hear and feel a place; its traces, stories and the imagination created in the experience.

The Passing Show

Fanelli, Kathryn 01 February 2021 (has links)
The Passing Show, examines the interface between contemplative practices and the destabilizing effect of the carnivalesque. A repurposed early 20th century merry-go- round is reconfigured as a conceptual vehicle for renewing our attention to removing hindrances. The site-specific installation, titled Vimoksha, is viewed through the lens of the radical imaginary, investigating notions of karmic inheritance through a heuristic approach to material processes, personal history, kinetics and sound.
