Lärares utmaningar i arbetet med att leda och stimulera särskilt matematiskt begåvade elever : En kvalitativ intervjustudie ur ett implementeringsteoretiskt perspektivHuttu, Johanna, Kärrlander, Pontus, Viebke, Henrik January 2022 (has links)
According to the Swedish curriculum for the compulsory school, every teacher has an obligation to differentiate students’ education to promote their development and learning needs. The study carried out in this paper is a qualitative interview study with Swedish teachers that have experience teaching particularly gifted students in mathematics. The study is based on the implementation theory where the aim of the study is to present an overview of different challenges that teachers encounter when trying to implement the decisions made regarding education of gifted students in mathematics. Furthermore, the aim of the study was to see if there were differences, and what those differences were, between the challenges that Swedish teachers mentioned versus the challenges that are acknowledged in previous international research. A deductive approach is used rooting the analysis in key concepts based on previous research. The key concepts or challenges we found were mathematical competence, student interests and motivations, appropriate challenge for students, inclusion, identification, prioritizing, time, materials, lack of education and collegial cooperation. We found plenty of similarities to the previous research on the area but could however also see tendencies in our study which hasn’t been discussed in the presented previous research. For example, we noticed that teachers in our study mentioned the importance of experience. We also noticed that some of the key challenges from the previous research didn’t seem to be as prominent in this study.

REVISORERS GRANSKNING AV GOING CONCERN UNDER KRIS : En studie om going concern under coronapandemin och finanskrisen / AUDITOR´S REVIEW OF GOING CONCERN DURING CRISIS : A study about going concern during corona pandemic and financial crisisJohansson, Lukas, Karlsson, Jennie January 2021 (has links)
Background: Going concern is one of the basic principles in accounting, which means that companies must continue their operations in the foreseeable future. In previous research studies have been done on how the corona pandemic generally has affected the auditors review, while this study examines what the auditors' review of going concern has shown during the corona pandemic. There are already studies on the financial crisis linked to going concern, but there is no previous research regarding differences and similarities between the corona pandemic and the financial crisis. Research questions: How and why have the auditors' review of the ability to continue operating (going concern) changed during the corona pandemic and the financial crisis? What are the differences and similarities between the financial crisis and the corona pandemic regarding the auditors review of going concern? Purpose of study: The purpose of the study is to gain an understanding of how the auditors examine the ability to continue operations (going concern) during the corona pandemic and the financial crisis and why the auditors examine changes during these crises. In the study, the institutional pressure will help to create an understanding of why auditors examine change during crises. The study will also examine from the auditors' perspective whether there are any differences or similarities in significant uncertainties, appropriate audit evidence and an in-depth review between the financial crisis and the corona pandemic. Results and conclusion: The study's conclusions are that the auditors' review of the going concern has changed during the corona pandemic and the financial crisis, which contributes to the review not looking the same during a crisis. The corona pandemic and the financial crisis has led to the introduction of new laws and regulations, which auditors must follow and can be explained by institutional pressure. This has contributed to a more in-depth audit and also to the fact that the auditors must ensure that the audited evidence obtained is of a high quality. The study has identified that there are differences and similarities regarding the auditors' review of the going concern between the corona pandemic and the financial crisis, which stems from significant uncertainties, appropriate audit evidence and in-depth review.

Distanční výuka zeměpisu na jaře 2020 / Distance teaching of geography in spring of 2020Máslo, Jaroslav January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with distance teaching, in empiric part of the thesis specifically with distance teaching of geography in spring of 2020 at secondary schools and appropriate degree of grammar schools. The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe specifics of distance teaching of geography at secondary schools and appropriate degree of grammar schools in spring of 2020 and to make a list of principles which should be followed in distance teaching and which should help with adjustment of learning content. for needs of distance teaching. Another aim of this thesis is to describe distance teaching of geography in spring of 2020 and describe differences in terms of teachers' pactice length and type of school where they teach. Theoretical part of thesis describes specifics of distance teaching and main differences between distance teaching and full-time teaching. As the part of literature search, the list of principles for distance teaching was written down and these principles were divided into three groups. In empiric part of thesis distance teaching of geography in spring of 2020 was described from these point of view: changes durring distance teaching of geography, time spent by pupils studying geography, reduction of learning content, communication with pupils, their parents, colleagues,...

Selecting Appropriate Product Concepts for Manufacture in Developing CountriesJohnson, Danielle 22 December 2003 (has links) (PDF)
There is a noticeable lack of production of indigenously engineered and manufactured products in Less Developed Countries (LDC's). Few products developed in these LDC's could be viable in competitive markets or even sold as components and supplies to other manufacturers of competitive goods. Assumintg that these less developed countries do not innovate and manufacture because they cannot, the next logical question to ask is why can they not? This thesis looks at the problems of manufacture and design in LDC's from the standpoint of Product Development. It begins by looking at development theories, namely top down and bottom up and assessing the difficulties encountered with either approach. It then looks at literature on product development, covering four areas: appropriate technolotgy, Product Development Cycle, QFD, and finally Design for X. These areas are analyzed for their usefulness in solving the development problem. The environment is considered and a linkage is developed between the Product Development Cycle and the environment. This is found to happen by way of Enterprise Needs which are needs that a product must fulfill to make it a viable option for manufacture. Finally, a process is outlined and demonstrated to form Enterprise Needs and take them into account within a traditional concept selection process. Environment was found to play a part in the Product Development Cycle. By clarifying Enterprise Needs as well as Customer Needs or Functional Needs, a more balanced approach can be taken to the concept selection process choosing the best concept, not only for the customer, but for the company as well.

The appropriateness of information technology development in Sub-Saharan AfricaRubens, Johan Lode Karel Robert Maria 11 1900 (has links)
Many development organisations are initiating programs in Sub-Saharan Africa
bringing information technology to community centres, schools, universities, and
government institutions. In the United States and more particularly Silicon Valley,
California, people are convinced of the benefits of the Internet. An organisation
started in this context, Schools Online, has initiated programs in over 31 countries
and spent millions of dollars in the South. The study focuses on Schools Online's
history, structure, and vision while researching its activities in a rural school in the
town of Jinja, Uganda, in Sub-Saharan Africa. It is recommended that Schools
Online listens and learns from its beneficiaries when planning an information
technology project. / Development Studies / M. A. (Development Studies)

The development of a board game as preventative measure against the sexual abuse of grade four children in South AfricaDunn, Munita 30 June 2004 (has links)
Every child has the constitutional right to be protected from maltreatment, neglect or abuse. However, contrasting every child's constitutional right is the escalating worldwide prevalence of child sexual abuse. The incidence of child sexual abuse must be reduced as far as possible by a multi-faceted approach, including effective prevention programmes which facilitate disclosure and empower children.
Since insufficient South African research on prevention programmes and preventative measures are available, the primary aim of the study was to develop a board game which can foster the prevention of sexual abuse of children. Scientifically, the motivation for the study was based on the improved understanding of the educational impact of a board game as primary prevention tool. The researcher developed the HOOC board game as part of the Hands Off Our Children Campaign. The board game, being practical and educational, has the goal of teaching children self-protective behaviours that can lower their probability of being abused.
A representative sample of 1697 grade four learners, nine to twelve years of age, were selected from the Metropole East region. In order to determine the educational impact of the HOOC board game, the results of the children on the Children's Knowledge of Abuse Questionnaire-Revised (CKAQ-RIII) in the experimental and control groups were compared. The experimental group (n=407) received the board game as intervention. The control group (n=1290) did not receive any intervention. Performance on the test were also compared with gender and ethnicity.
According to the obtained results, the HOOC board game correlated with the improvement of knowledge in an acceptable manner. No significant correlations were found between the scores of the tests and gender. The gender of a learner had no significant impact on the learner's ability to learn and retain information. A significant correlation was found between the difference in scores on the tests and the ethnic grouping of learners. It therefore seems that the ethnicity of a learner relates to the improvement of knowledge. Considering the overall results of the study, the use of the HOOC board game as preventative measure against the sexual abuse of grade four learners is acceptable. The HOOC board game offers a significant and valid preventative measure for sexual abuse of children in the middle age group within the South African context. / Practical Theology / D. Diac.

Correlation between strategic objectives and operational plans of the University of South Africa with specific reference to the Directorate: Student Admissions and RegistrationsHarding, Richard Cornelius 04 1900 (has links)
The major focus and question emanating from the research is: to what extent do the
operational action plans, policies, functions, procedures and activities as well as their
implementation within the Directorate: Student Admissions and Registrations correlate with
the strategic objectives of the University of South Africa (Unisa)? In alignment with the
above, the major challenge of the study was to identify adequate and appropriate
approaches to ensure appropriate correlation levels between strategic objectives and their
successful implementation relevant to the Directorate: Student Admissions and
Registrations.
The challenge of every Departmental Head is to turn theory into practice; to make
something happen and to translate strategic plans into real business results. This will be
accomplished only when there is synergy or connectivity between strategic and
operational planning towards effective implementation.
Various literature reviews and research topics on strategic management focus either on
strategic planning or strategic implementation as separate identities. Few publications
address the challenge of connecting the pursuit of strategic objectives with operational
plans. Even fewer literature reviews indicate the relationship or correlation levels between
strategic objectives and operational plans of an organisation; the desirable or appropriate
level thereof, to ensure the effective pursuit of strategic objectives. The outcomes of this
study could contribute to the identification of an appropriate approach and measurement
criteria to ensure connectivity/alignment between specific strategic objectives and
operational plans relevant to the Directorate: Student Admissions and Registrations. By
doing this, the strategic objectives are effectively and efficiently promoted to those
responsible for carrying out the execution plan. The researcher has adopted a comprehensively-integrated-aligned-strategic-processmanagement-
approach as part of the standardised operational plans of the Directorate:
Student Admissions and Registrations so as to ensure more effective and efficient
(appropriate) correlation levels in respect of specific strategic objectives relevant to the Directorate: Student Admissions and Registrations due to a lack of correlation in some
instances.
The above approach represents a total view of an organisation‟s strategic management
and control systems and consists of the strategic planning, operational plans and resultsmanagement
plans. The mentioned approach will also consist of a measurement criterion
which identifies critical enablers, dependencies and drivers to ensure vertical and
horizontal alignment in respect of original planning (the what and why) with the
implementation plans (when, how and by whom). The integrated-aligned-strategic-management-process-approach enforces the timely
availability of major enablers, dependencies and drivers necessary to support the
execution of activities, related to specific strategic objectives. It also identifies the possible
lack thereof prior to the implementation of strategic plans. Specific alternatives or
workarounds can be identified to ensure continuity in respect of the implementation
processes related to specific strategic objectives. In this way, the above approach will
enhance the effective and efficient management and coordination of an organisation to
drive intended strategic outcomes within a specific process, taking into account project
management-driven principles within a specific sequence of activities (grouping together
what belongs together). The latter will involve all roleplayers in the work situation
accountable for the implementation process (creating ownership). By doing this,
duplication and overlapping of activities will be eliminated and connectivity/alignment
between specific strategic objectives and their implementation will be enforced. The focus
falls on the entire key/core process and cycle, producing outcomes of success in respect
of the implementation of objectives (the right people will be doing the right things at the
right time). The integrated-aligned-strategic-management-process-approach enforces the timely

Uchopení matematických výukových prostředí dětmi předškolního věku (5-7let) / Graspig arithmetic learning environments by children (age 5-7) in kindergartenŠubrtová, Eva January 2014 (has links)
thesis: Children of pre-school age are entering stage of structural change of thinking. The way how they grasp solving mathematical tasks reflects whether these changes have already started. This work surveys visible intellectual outputs in the group of 20 children who passed set of experimental tasks at arithmetic learning environments "Stepping" and "Bus". Children were subsequently subjected to pedagogical diagnostics and results of this investigation and carried experiments were trade off. From comparison it can be concluded that results of both surveys correspond enough to facilitate the application of selected mathematical tasks as pedagogical diagnostic tools.

Vocation contemporaine du théologien catholique et protection de la communion de son église / Contemporary vocation of the Catholic theologian and protection of the communion of his ChurchKabamba-Nzwela, Alain 14 December 2012 (has links)
A glance of the current events of this Church brings to light that the collaboration between magisterial authorities and theologians involved with the task of doctrinal and catechetical education of the Roman Catholic Church experiences some difficulties, especially in more diverse and secularized societies. Sometimes theological research contributes to put the endangerment of the ecclesial communion or its cohesiveness with regard to the faith and moral theology. The instruction of the Roman Curie Donum veritatis of May 24th, 1990 enters in doctrine and in the procedure of regulation of the exercise of the freedom and the responsibility of the catholic theologian and the ecclesiastic to be met to ensure full communion. They are the criteria of orthodoxy, orthopraxy, ecclesial membership and communion. The question of the canonical status of theologians is debated and the catholic authority is obliged to specify the doctrine and the status of the catholic theologian. Does the code of Latin canon law of 1983 foresee rules for the regulation of the mission of the theologian according to the requirement of full ecclesial communion? A thesis in canon law was necessary to provide an initial assessment of the vocation of the catholic theologian, the institution of catholic theology, and the status of catholic theologians under Canon law. How does canonicity assist a faithful who, by the acquisition of recognized skills, wants to become a catholic theologian? How does one evaluate the suitability of the applicant? How to grant a candidate the status of theologian under Canon law and, if necessary, withdraw such status for the good of the Church? How does one guarantee the consciousness and the freedom of the catholic theologian? In case of differences of opinion or disagreement, how does one qualify this situation? Thus, the theologian enjoys liberties recognized by his Church but within the limits of the duty of communion described in canon # 209 § 1 of the Latin Code of 1983 and canon # 12 § 2 of the Code of the Oriental Churches’ Canons.
