There is, however, a discrepancy in the definition of employer branding between ÅF and the literature. The strong connection between the EBM and the marketing department might also lead to a too strong focus on the external activities.</p>

Human Resource Management in Project-Based Organisations : Challenges, Changes, and Capabilities / Human resource management i projektbaserade organisationer : utmaningar, förändringar och förmågor

This doctoral thesis addresses human resource management in project-based organisations. The aim is to explore the challenges for HRM in project-based organisations and the changes in people management systems to meet these challenges. The thesis consists of a compilation of six papers and an extended summary. The research reported in the thesis is based on a combination of multiple, comparative, and single case studies of project-based organisations. The core case studies have been conducted at Saab Aerosystems, AstraZeneca, Volvo Car Corporation, and Tetra Pak. The results indicate central challenges regarding competence development and career structures, performance review processes and reputation of project workers, and the increased responsibility and pressured work environment for project workers. They further indicate that many of these challenges are handled through a more HR-oriented line manager role, while HR departments are downsized and centralised. The thesis hence emphasises the need to understand HRM as a dimension of management in which various players share the responsibility for its design and performance. To conclude, the thesis applies a capabilities perspective on project-based organisations and develops a conceptual framework that embraces people capability: the organisational capability to manage the relation between people and their organisational context. In this framework, people management systems improve people capability when they integrate it with strategic, functional, and project capabilities. It is suggested that the people capability framework provides new possibilities to analyse HRM in project-based organisations and to explain the changes in people management systems that are needed to align them to the project-based context. / I avhandlingen studeras human resource management (HRM) i projektbaserade organisationer. Syftet är att utforska de utmaningar som HRM i projektbaserade organisationer möter på grund av de speciella karaktärsdrag som denna organisationsform har, samt hur personalarbetet i denna typ av organisationer förändras för att anpassas till ett projektbaserat arbetssätt. Avhandlingen är en sammanläggningsavhandling bestående av sex artiklar och kappa, författade på engelska. Artiklarna bygger på fallstudier av projektintensiva och kunskapsintensiva organisationer. De centrala fallstudierna har genomförts på Saab Aerosystems, AstraZeneca, Volvo Car Corporation och Tetra Pak. Avhandlingen visar på utmaningar gällande kompetensutveckling och karriärvägar, utvärderingsprocesser och rykte för projektmedarbetare, samt individens ökade ansvar och tidspressade arbetssituation. De visar vidare på att många av dessa utmaningar framför allt hanteras genom en mer HR-orienterad roll för första linjens chefer medan personalavdelningar minskas och centraliseras. I avhandlingen tydliggörs därför vikten av att förstå HRM som en dimension av management där flera aktörer tillsammans bidrar till dess utförande och uppbyggnad. Avslutningsvis används ett perspektiv som fokuserar organisatoriska förmågor i projektbaserade företag för att utveckla en konceptuell modell för people capability: den organisatoriska förmågan att hantera relationen mellan individer och deras organisatoriska kontext. Modellens utgångspunkt är att personalarbetet i projektbaserade organisationer kan bidra till en förbättrad people capability om det integrerar denna förmåga med strategiska, funktionella och projektförmågor. I avhandlingen föreslås att people capability modellen ger nya möjligheter att analysera HRM i projektbaserade organisationer och att förklara de förändringar personalarbetet som krävs för att anpassa det till det projektbaserade arbetssättet.

Relevé polarimétrique d'étoiles candidates pour des disques de débris

Le relevé DEBRIS est effectué par le télescope spatial Herschel. Il permet d’échantillonner les disques de débris autour d’étoiles de l’environnement solaire. Dans la première partie de ce mémoire, un relevé polarimétrique de 108 étoiles des candidates de DEBRIS est présenté. Utilisant le polarimètre de l’Observatoire du Mont-Mégantic, des observations ont été effectuées afin de détecter la polarisation due à la présence de disques de débris. En raison d’un faible taux de détection d’étoiles polarisées, une analyse statistique a été réalisée dans le but de comparer la polarisation d’étoiles possédant un excès dans l’infrarouge et la polarisation de celles n’en possédant pas. Utilisant la théorie de diffusion de Mie, un modèle a été construit afin de prédire la polarisation due à un disque de débris. Les résultats du modèle sont cohérents avec les observations. La deuxième partie de ce mémoire présente des tests optiques du polarimètre POL-2, construit à l’Université de Montréal. L’imageur du télescope James-Clerk-Maxwell passe de l’instrument SCUBA à l’instrument SCUBA-2, qui sera au moins cent fois plus rapide que son prédécesseur. De même, le polarimètre suit l’amélioration et un nouveau polarimètre, POL-2, a été installé sur SCUBA-2 en juillet 2010. Afin de vérifier les performances optiques de POL-2, des tests ont été exécutés dans les laboratoires sub-millimétriques de l’Université de Western Ontario en juin 2009 et de l’Université de Lethbridge en septembre 2009. Ces tests et leurs implications pour les observations futures sont discutés. / The DEBRIS survey, being performed by the space telescope Herschel, is an unbiased sampling of the debris disks candidates in the solar neighbourhood. In the first part of this thesis, a ground-based polarimetric survey of 108 DEBRIS candidate stars is presented. Using the polarimeter, “La Belle et la Bete,” at the Mont-Megantic Observatory, observations were carried out in order to detect polarization induced by the presence of a debris disk. Due to a low rate of detection, a statistical analysis was performed to compare the polarization between stars owning a debris disk with stars without one. Using Mie scattering theory, a basic model was constructed to estimate the level of polarization produced by dust grains in a debris disk. The results of this model are consistent with our observations. The second part of the thesis presents the optical tests of the polarimeter POL-2, built at Université de Montréal. The James Clerk-Maxwell-Telescope imager SCUBA has been upgraded to SCUBA-2, which is more than one hundred times faster than its predecessor with 500 times more pixels. Likewise, the polarimeter follows the improvement as a new polarimeter, POL-2, was installed on SCUBA-2 in July 2010. In order to verify the optical performance of POL-2, tests were completed at the submillimeter laboratories at the University of Western Ontario in June 2009, and the University of Lethbridge in September 2009. These tests and their implications for future observations are discussed.

Contribution à l'étude phytochimique d'orchidées tropicales : identification des constituants d'Aerides rosea et d'Acampe rigida : techniques analytiques et préparatives appliquées à Vanda coerulea et Vanda teres / Contribution to the phytochemical studies of tropical orchids

L’analyse de la composition chimique de deux orchidées de la sous-tribu des Aeridinae, Aerides rosea Lodd. ex. Lindl. & Paxton et Acampe rigida (Buch.-Ham. ex Sm.) P. F. Hunt, a été menée en ayant recours à des techniques de couplages et grâce à une stratégie de déréplication. Dix dérivés phénanthréniques ont ainsi été identifiés dans les tiges d’A. rosea, dont deux nouvellement décrits. Quatre stilbénoïdes, trois dérivés d'acides phénoliques et quatre esters d'acide cinnamique ont été identifiés dans les tiges d’A. rigida. Nous avons également effectué des dosages de traceurs dans différents échantillons de deux représentants de la tribu des Vandeae : Vanda teres (Roxb.) Lindl. et Vanda coerulea Griff. ex. Lindl., afin de mettre en évidence d’éventuelles variations de composition en fonction des facteurs environnementaux et du stade de croissance végétative. Enfin, nous avons mis au point des conditions d’isolement préparatif par chromatographie de partage centrifuge afin de purifier des marqueurs biologiques préalablement identifiés dans les tiges de Vanda teres : trois glucospyranosyloxybenzyl - malates ainsi que leur précurseur biosynthétique. / Phytochemical analyses of the composition of two orchids Aeridinae subtribe, Aerides rosea Lod . ex . Lindl . & Paxton and Acampe rigida (Buch. -Ham . Ex Sm.) P. F. Hunt were conducted using the state-of-the-art hyphenated techniques and a developed dereplication strategy. Ten phenanthrene derivatives have been identified in the stems of A. rosea, including two newly described structures. Four stilbenoids, three phenolic acids derivatives and four cinnamic acid esters were identified in the stems of A. rigida. We also performed quantitative assays of chemical tracers in different samples of two representative species from the Vandeae tribe: Vanda teres (Roxb.) Lindl. and Vanda coerulea Griff. ex. Lindl., in the aim to highlight possible variations in their composition, depending on environmental factors and vegetative growth stage. Finally, we have developed conditions for preparative isolation using centrifugal partition chromatography to purify biomarkers previously identified in the stems of Vanda teres: three glucosyloxybenzyl malates derivatives and their biosynthetic precursor.

Prévue pour 2024, une série d’améliorations doit être apportée au grand collisionneur d’hadrons du CERN (LHC) de manière à élargir son potentiel de découverte de nouvelle physique. Cette thèse se situe dans la perspective des études d’amélioration du détecteur ATLAS dans ce nouvel environnement, et concerne une nouvelle technologie monolithique HV/HR CMOS qui pourrait être utilisée pour les détecteurs de traces centraux pixélisés. Cette technologie a le potentiel de permettre la réduction de l’épaisseur des détecteurs, d'augmenter la granularité ainsi que de réduire les couts de production.Au sein de la collaboration HV/HR CMOS d’ATLAS, divers prototypes ont été développés en utilisant les technologies de différents partenaires industriels : GlobalFoundries (GF) BCDlite 130 nm et LFoundry (LF) 150 nm entre autres. Pour comprendre le comportement électrique et la capacité de détection de telles technologies, des simulations TCAD -Technology Computer Aided Design- en 2D et 3D ont été réalisées pour extraire le profil de la zone déplétée, la tension de claquage, la capacitance ainsi que la collection de charges ionisées des prototypes. Le développement de systèmes de test complexes et la caractérisation des prototypes HV/HR CMOS ont aussi été une partie du travail fourni pour cette thèse. Les programmes d’acquisition, en particulier pour ce qui concerne les tests sous protons ou auprès d’irradiateurs à rayons X, ainsi que les programmes de réglages de seuil ont été implémenté dans divers systèmes de test. Plusieurs versions des prototypes développés dans 3 technologies HV/HR CMOS différentes (AMS 0.18 μm HV, GF BCDlite 130nm et LF 150nm) ont été caractérisées. / A major upgrade to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), scheduled for 2024 will be brought to the machine so as to extend its discovery potential. This PhD is part of the ATLAS program and aims at studying a new monolithic technology in the framework of the design of an upgraded ATLAS inner tracker. This new type of sensor is based on a HV/HR CMOS technology, which would potentially offer lower material budget, reduced pixel pitch and lower cost with respect to the traditional hybrid pixel detector concept.Various prototypes have been developed using different HV/HR CMOS technologies from several industrial partners, within the ATLAS HV/HR collaboration, for instance Global Foundry (GF) BCDlite 130 nm and LFoundry (LF) 150 nm. In order to understand the electric behavior and the detection capabilities of these technologies, 3D and 2D Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) simulations have been performed to extract the depletion zone profile, the breakdown voltage, the leakage current, the capacitance as well as the charge collection of the prototypes. Test setup developments and characterizations of the HV/HR CMOS prototypes were also part of this thesis. The data acquisition programs, in particular dedicated to the proton test beams, X-ray sources and threshold tuning, have been implemented into various test setups. Several HV/HR CMOS prototypes developed in three HV/HR technologies, AMS 0.18 µm HV, GF BCDlite 130 nm and LF 150 nm, have been characterized.

[pt] Modelos organizacionais são excelentes insumos para a engenharia de requisitos, uma vez que eles são ricos em detalhes sobre o sistema de informação, permitindo a comunicação, entendimento, avaliação do domínio, e a elicitação da informação para a definição de requisitos de software. Dentro do contexto da administração organizacional, estes modelos são usados em uma variedade de propósitos, incluindo o alinhamento organizacional, o qual é um dos maiores desafios das companhias em ambientes de alta competitividade. O alinhamento organizacional torna explicita as relações entre a camada operacional e de objetivos, o que deve ser representado através de modelos organizacionais para ampliar as possibilidades de avaliação, mensuração e melhoria. No contexto de sistemas de software, é importante o uso de modelos com alta qualidade e aderência aos objetivos organizacionais. Para se alcançar um nível satisfatório de alinhamento, somente a projeção de processos bem definidos não é suficiente. Também é necessário o alinhamento estratégico de diversas perspectivas da organização, por exemplo, financeira, planejamento, tecnologia e recursos humanos. Entretanto, quando se trata de alinhamento estratégico, as linguagens de modelagem organizacional não abordam diversos aspectos. Esta tese busca expandir a capacidade da modelagem organizacional, inserindo recursos que ajudam a análise do alinhamento estratégico. Em especial, a perspectiva de Recursos Humanos é abordada, a qual consideramos uma das mais relevantes para o alinhamento organizacional devido a sua posição vital na execução dos processos organizacionais. / [en] Organizational models are excellent inputs for requirement engineering, since they carry a huge amount of detail about information systems, allowing the communication, understanding, domain evaluation, and the information elicitation to the definition of software requirements. Inside the organizational administration context, these models are used for a variety of purposes, including organizational alignment, which is a major challenge for companies in a highly competitive environment. Organizational alignment makes explicit the relationship between the operational and objective layers, what must be represented in organizational models to increase the possibilities of evaluation, measurement and improvement. In the context of software systems, it is important to use models with higher quality and adherence to the organizational objectives. To achieve satisfactory level of alignment, only the designing of well-defined processes is not enough. It is also necessary to strategically align diverse perspectives of the organization, for example, budget, planning, technology, and human resources. However, when it comes to strategic alignment, organizational modeling languages do not address several aspects. This thesis seeks to expand the capacity of organizational modeling, inserting resources that help the strategic alignment analysis. Especially the Human Resources perspective will be approached, which we consider one of the most relevant to organizational alignment, due to its vital position in the execution of organizational processes.

For execution of experiments, we used 29 strains received from different regions in Brazil. For confirmation of the identity of the strains we carried out xanthomonadins production test, asparagine utilization, analysis of the 16S rDNA genes region of bacterial genome and pathogenicity tests. Of the 29 strains, 24 were identified as belonging to Xanthomonas genus. None of the strains induced hypersensitivity reaction (HR) in inoculated plants and only 14 strains induced typical symptoms of black rot in collard. The NSCAA medium was the uniquely to support the growth of all strains, whereas mCS20ABN, YTSA-CC and Xan-D media allowed the growth of most of strains. Except of X03 strain, the XCR/XCF and HrcCR2/HrcCF2 primers allowed the amplification and visualization of bands of expected size to Xcc. / Avaliou-se a eficiência de meios de cultura semi-seletivos, de testes de patogenicidade e a especificidade de primers para a detecção de Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris (Xcc). Para a execução dos experimentos, foram utilizados 29 isolados recebidos de diferentes regiões do Brasil. Para a confirmação da identidade dos isolados foram realizados os testes de produção de xantomonadinas e de utilização de asparagina, análise da região 16s do genoma bacteriano e testes de patogenicidade. Dos 29 isolados, 24 foram identificados como pertencentes ao gênero Xanthomonas. Nenhum dos isolados induziu HR nas plantas inoculadas e apenas 14 isolados induziram sintomas típicos da podridão negra em couve. O meio NSCAA foi o único capaz de suportar o crescimento de todos os isolados, enquanto os meios mCS20ABN, YTSA-CC e Xan-D permitiram o crescimento da maioria dos isolados. À exceção do isolado X03, os primers XCR/XCF e HrcCR2/HrcCF2 permitiram a amplificação e visualização das bandas de tamanhos esperados para Xcc.

Förutsättningar för det nya nationella försvaret : En fallstudie av plutonchefskapet vid den 161.strilbataljonen

Omvärldsförändringar har inneburit att regeringen gett Försvarsmakten en ny inriktning med ett ökat fokus på förmågan att försvara Sverige. Syftet med denna studie är att skapa förståelse för förutsättningarna för chefskapet på plutonsnivån i det nationella försvaret och utveckla kunskap om vilka förutsättningar plutoncheferna har att möta de krav som det nya nationella försvaret ställer. Studien är genomförd med en induktiv kvalitativ fallstudiedesign med en hermeneutisk ansats. Det empiriska materialet baseras på data från 12 intervjuer med plutonchefer och data från undersökning av centrala Försvarsmaktsdokument. Resultatet visar att plutonchefensrollen karaktäriseras av en balansgång mellan rollen som chef och rollen som administratör, där administrationen väger över på bekostnad av krigföringsförmåga och ledarskap. Chefernas uppfattning om det nationella försvarets krav överensstämmer väl med de övergripande styrdokumenten men en tydlig sammanställning av kraven saknas vilket leder till osäkerhet. Plutonchefernas förutsättningar för att uppfylla det nya försvarets krav påverkas av deras möjlighet att balansera mellan uppgifter och tillgängliga resurser, vilket beror på avsaknad av administrativt stöd och brist på ledning. Studien har identifierat ett motsatsförhållande mellan två samtidigt pågående organisationsförändringar. Fenomenet som vi har valt att kalla paradoxförändring, innehåller en rollinriktad förändring mot chefen som administratör och en attitydinriktad förändring mot krigsförbandschef i det nya nationella försvaret. / The changes in the strategical environment have resulted in the government giving the Swedish defense forces a new national alignment, towards the capability of national defense. The purpose of this study is to build understanding of the conditions for platoon level leadership in the new national defense and to develop knowledge of the conditions the platoon commanders have been given to meet the demands by the new national defense. The research has been carried out by an inductive quantitative case study design with a hermeneutic approach. The empirical data is based on twelve interviews with platoon leaders and a study of official defense force documents. The research shows that the role of the platoon leader is characterized by balancing the role as commander and the role of administrator, were the administration weighs over on the expense of the capability of warfare and leadership. The platoon commander’s perception of the demands of the national defense complies with official defense force documents, but the absence of a clear compilation of the demands leads to some uncertainty. The platoon commander’s conditions to fulfill the demands of the new national defense is determined by their ability to balance tasks and available resources. This in turn is due to absence of administrative support and command. The research has identified a contradiction between two simultaneously ongoing organizational changes. The phenomenon that we have chosen to call the paradox change, contains one role-orientated change towards the commander as an administrator and one character-oriented change towards combat commander in the new national defense. / Uppdragsutbildning för Försvarsmakten

Niterói, RJ / A análise de amostras hipersalinas ainda é um problema analítico a ser resolvido, tendo em vista que a presença de sais dissolvidos é fonte freqüente de interferências em espectrometria atômica. Atualmente, tem ocorrido um grande aumento da demanda para caracterização de águas de alta salinidade, como as águas produzidas, pelo fato de estas serem um dos maiores descartes da indústria de petróleo. Devido a isto, metodologias analíticas para sua caracterização têm sido amplamente desenvolvidas para a determinação de metais-traço em amostras salinas e dentre as técnicas analíticas destaca-se a Espectrometria de Absorção Atômica de Alta Resolução com Fonte Contínua, uma renovação da AAS convencional. Contudo, para a obtenção de resultados acurados, é imprescindível que se faça a remoção dos sais presentes nessas matrizes hipersalinas. Essa separação prévia pode ser realizada através do emprego de resinas qualantes, que pré-concentram o analito e permitem a remoção da matriz. Sendo assim, este trabalho visa à avaliação do uso da resina quelante comercial Chelex-100® na préconcentração de Co, Cu, Mn, Ni e Pb e posterior determinação destes por Espectrometria de Absorção Atômica de Alta Resolução com Fonte Contínua e Forno de Grafite (HR-CS GF AAS). A metodologia foi validada através do uso dos materiais de referência certificados para água do mar CASS-4, CASS-5 e NASS-5. Os limites de detecção obtidos, em μg L-1, foram de 0,006; 0,070; 0,024; 0,074; e 0,018 para Co, Cu, Mn, Ni e Pb, respectivamente. Amostras de água produzida oriundas de plataformas de petróleo offshore foram analisadas e os resultados mostraram que essas águas possuem baixas concentrações dos elementos determinados ou os mesmos não foram detectados. Os valores encontrados são muito inferiores aos limites preconizados pela legislação brasileira através da Resolução CONAMA 357/05 / The analysis of hypersaline samples is still an analytical problem to be solved, once the presence of dissolved salts is a frequent source of interferences in atomic spectrometry. Actually, there is a large increase in the interest in the caracterization of this kind of sample, as produced waters are one of the largest discharges of petroleum industry. Hence, analytical methodologies to produced water caracterization have been widely developed to trace metals determination in saline samples and among the analytical techniques, there is High Resolution Continuum Source Atomic Absorption Spectrometry, a renovation of conventional AAS. However, to obtain accurated results, it's necessary to remove the salts present in this high salinity matrices. This previous separation can be done employing a chelating resin, that preconcentrates the analyte(s) and allows matrix removal. In this way, the aim this work is to evaluate the use of chelating resin Chelex-100® to preconcentrate Co, Cu, Mn, Ni and Pb, for the later determination by High Resolution Continuum Source Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (HR-CS GF AAS). The methodology was validated by the use of sewater certified reference materials CASS-4, CASS-5 e NASS-5. The detection limits in μg L-1, were 0,006; 0,070; 0,024; 0,074; and 0,018 for Co, Cu, Mn, Ni and Pb, respectively. Produced water samples from offshore petroleum platforms were analysed and results showed that this waters have low concentrations of these studied elements or could not be detected.
