O estudo tem por objetivo analisar a gestão de bibliotecas híbridas e o uso de tecnologias em rede na Biblioteca Central da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) e na Biblioteca do Campus Bagé da Universidade Federal do Pampa (UNIPAMPA). A teoria de base tem autores da área de Biblioteconomia, Ciência da Informação e Administração para abordar: a questão do bibliotecário enquanto gestor da informação e a influência das tecnologias em rede nas bibliotecas universitárias híbridas, visando à facilitação do acesso à informação. O problema norteador da presente pesquisa busca identificar: quais são os limites e potencialidades da gestão bibliotecária na utilização das tecnologias em rede como elemento facilitador do acesso à informação aos usuários de bibliotecas universitárias? A mesma pretende contribuir para reflexões críticas sobre o assunto, e corrobora com a necessidade de uma nova proposta de gestão da informação nas bibliotecas híbridas pesquisadas, visando o atendimento satisfatório dos usuários. A abordagem adotada foi a hipotético-dedutiva, e os procedimentos adotados foram: pesquisa bibliográfica, pesquisa de campo e análise documental. A técnica adotada na pesquisa bibliográfica foi: fichamentos e resumos. A pesquisa de Campo foi realizada através de observação, entrevista e aplicação de questionários aos bibliotecários, pessoal de apoio e usuários da Biblioteca Central da FURG e da Biblioteca da UNIPAMPA – Campus Bagé. Na análise documental foram utilizadas tabelas e gráficos. Os resultados obtidos evidenciaram a necessidade de o bibliotecário adquirir novas competências e focar mais suas atividades para o usuário, visando o acesso à informação. / The present case study is a dissertation that has as a concentration area, Networked Educational Technologies for Innovation and Democratization of Education, and is part of the research line Management of Educational Technologies in Network within the scope of the Master in Educational Technologies in Network of the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). The study aims to analyze the management of hybrid libraries and the use of networked technologies in the Federal University Rio Grande Central Library (FURG) and the Campus Bagé Library of the Federal University of Pampa (UNIPAMPA). The basic theory brings authors in the area of Library Science, Information Science and Administration to address: the issue of the librarian as manager of information and the influence of network technologies in hybrid university libraries, aiming to facilitate the access to information. The guiding problem of the present research seeks to identify: what are the limits and potentialities of library management in the use of networked technologies as a facilitating element of access to information for users of university libraries? It intends to contribute to critical reflections on the subject, and corroborates the need for a new information management proposal in the hybrid libraries researched, aiming at satisfactory user service. The approach adopted was hypothetical-deductive, and the procedures adopted were: bibliographic research, field research and documentary analysis. The technique adopted in the bibliographic research was: registration and abstracts. Field research was conducted through observation, interview and application of questionnaires to librarians, support staff and users of the FURG Central Library and the UNIPAMPA - Campus Bagé Library. In the documentary analysis, tables and graphics were used. The results obtained showed the need for the librarian to acquire new skills and to focus their activities on the user, aiming at access to information.

Nesta dissertação, busquei uma aproximação da Biblioteconomia e Ciência da Informação com os Estudos Culturais em Educação. Através da análise textual do gênero discursivo Agradecimentos em teses e dissertações, objetivei identificar as representações da atuação das bibliotecas e/ou bibliotecários universitários por parte dos alunos de pós-graduação. Para proceder esta análise, selecionei os agradecimentos existentes nas teses e dissertações defendidas nos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Educação, em Ciências Médicas e em Computação da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, representando três áreas do conhecimento, ou seja, Ciências Humanas, Ciências da Saúde e Ciências Exatas, respectivamente. Restringi o estudo a dois períodos distintos, de 1985 a 1989 e de 2005 a 2009, sendo o primeiro, relativo ao início da implantação da automação no Sistema de Bibliotecas da UFRGS e o segundo, quando esta automação já estava concluída e a internet já se encontrava democratizada no Brasil. Tal escolha se explica pela busca de realização de uma análise comparativa. Foram analisadas 667 teses e dissertações defendidas no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação, 610 no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Médicas e 390 no Programa de Pós- Graduação em Computação, totalizando 1.667 documentos. As bibliotecas e/ou bibliotecários foram mencionados em 95 teses e dissertações, representando 6% do universo analisado. Como resultados analíticos, verifiquei que: a) o espaço dos Agradecimentos, como gênero discursivo, consiste num locus onde ocorre uma representação do desempenho das bibliotecas e/ou bibliotecários universitários, apesar da incidência reduzida encontrada no levantamento quantitativo; b) existem tendências perceptíveis de redução desta menção na comparação entre os dois períodos e aponto algumas causas prováveis para tal redução, como o fechamento das bibliotecas em períodos de greves, a diminuição da equipe das bibliotecas devido às aposentadorias dos bibliotecários, sem reposição, uma vez que o governo federal suspendeu, por um longo período, os concursos públicos nas universidades, e o fato dos alunos e pesquisadores não necessitarem frequentar as bibliotecas para efetuarem suas pesquisas, podendo fazê-las diretamente de suas residências e gabinetes, graças à internet; c) nos agradecimentos são especificados alguns atributos pessoais e profissionais relativos à atuação dos bibliotecários universitários; e d) os agradecimentos existentes se caracterizam como positivos e valorativos em relação ao desempenho destes profissionais. Apresentei mais alguns aspectos interessantes demonstrados pelos agradecimentos e, a título de conclusão, faço algumas considerações finais em relação a possíveis repercussões e desdobramentos deste estudo para a Biblioteconomia e Ciência da Informação. / In this dissertation, I sought an approximation of Library and Information Science with Cultural Studies in Education. Through textual analysis of the discursive gender Thanks in theses and dissertations, I wanted identify the representations of the performance of libraries and/or university librarians by postgraduate students. To conduct this analysis, I selected the thanks of theses and dissertations in Post- Graduate in Education, Medical Sciences and Computing of Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, representing three areas of knowledge, this is, Humanities, Science Health, and Exact Science respectively. I restrict the study to two distinct periods, 1985-1989 and 2005-2009, being the first on the initial implantation of automation in the Library System of UFRGS and second, when it was already complete automation and the internet was already democratized in Brasil. This choice is explained by the search for conducting a comparative analysis. I analyzed 667 theses and dissertations in the Post-Graduate in Education, 610 in the Post-Graduate in Medical Sciences and 390 in the Post-Graduate in Computing, totaling 1.667 documents. Libraries and/or university librarians were mentioned in 95 theses and dissertations, representing 6% of the universe analyzed. As analytical results, I found that: a) the space of Thanks, as discursive genre, is a locus where there is a representation of the performance of libraries and/or university librarians, despite the reduced incidence found in the quantitative survey; b) there are discernible trends in reducing this mention when comparing the two periods and indicate some probable causes for this reduction, such as the closure of libraries in times of strikes , reducing staff from libraries due to retirements of librarians without replacement, since the federal government suspended for a long period, public procurement in the universities, and the fact that students and researchers need not attend the libraries to effect their research and can do them directly from their homes and offices, through to the internet; c) in the acknowledgments are specified some personal and professional attributes related to the performance of university librarians; and d) thanks existing characterized as positive and evaluative in relation to the performance of these professionals. I presented some more interesting aspects shown by thanks and, in conclusion, do some final considerations regarding possible consequences of this study for the Library and Information Science.

A pesquisa iniciou-se com uma questão central, a pesquisa escolar é uma atividade que deve ser orientada tanto por professores quanto por bibliotecários, que devem introduzir práticas de competência em informação no cotidiano das bibliotecas escolares formando no aluno as habilidades de localização da informação em vários suportes informacionais combinando essas informações em um texto coerente. Essa questão constituiu os seguintes objetivos específicos: 1) analisar as ações do bibliotecário e do professor no desenvolvimento de competências em informação para apoiar a pesquisa escolar nas bibliotecas do Instituto Federal da Bahia (IFBA); 2) descrever a competência informacional dos atores envolvidos no processo da pesquisa escolar, (professores, bibliotecários e alunos); 3) identificar e analisar as atividades desenvolvidas nessas bibliotecas escolares que promovam a competência em informação na pesquisa escolar. Utilizou-se a metodologia de estudo de caso, que é uma tentativa de abranger as características mais importantes do tema que estamos pesquisando. Os dados foram obtidos por meio da observação direta nas bibliotecas e questionários semiestruturados. Fizeram parte da amostra sete bibliotecários, 13 professores e 98 alunos do 4º ano do ensino médio dos cursos de Eletrotécnica, Eletromecânica e Técnico em Informática. A localização geográfica do IFBA é em todo território baiano e para este estudo foram selecionados os campi de Salvador, Simões Filho, Camaçari e Santo Amaro. A pesquisa traz como resultados a evidencia de que bibliotecários e professores trabalhando em conjunto podem oferecer oportunidades de aprendizagem para a competência em informação no processo da pesquisa escolar nas bibliotecas do Instituto e a falta dessa cooperação torna a biblioteca um lugar passivo dentro do contexto escolar. / ABSTRACT This study investigates the actions developed by scholar library of Instituto Federal da Bahia (IFBA) to stimulate research and the development of information literacy of students. The central issue of this research is that school research is an activity that must be oriented by teacher as well as by librarians, who must introduce practices of information literacy in daily of school libraries, potentiating students in skills and abilities to locate information in different formats, including the coherent reading of information. This issue constituted the following specifics objectives: 1) to analyses the actions of both librarian and teacher in the process of development information literacy to support school research in the libraries of Instituto Federal da Bahia (IFBA); 2. To describe the information literacy of actors involved in the process of school research (teachers, libraries and students); to identify and analyses the activities developed by these libraries that contribute to promote information literacy to school research. For this work was used case study as method, which is an attempt to include the most important characteristics of the subject of research. The process of data collecting was performed through direct observation in libraries of the scope of this work. It were also applied questionnaires for 7 librarians and 13 for teachers and 98 directed to students of the fourth year of Middle School of the courses of electronic, electromechanical and computer technician. The geographic location of IFBA is in the whole territory of Bahia state and for the scope of this study were selected the campus of Salvador, SimõesFilho, Camaçari and Santo Amaro. The research brought as evidence that the collaboration of both librarians and teachers can offer the opportunity of learning for information literacy in the process of scholar research in IFBA libraries. So, the lack of this cooperation leaves the library as passive space within the context of the school.

Delineando-se por estas perspectivas, este estudo tem como objetivo oferecer um panorama a respeito da inter-relação entre a Competência Informacional e o ensino fundamental e contribuir com referenciais norteadores que possam facilitar a adoção de postura reflexiva, crítica e inovadora em relação aos conteúdos decorrentes do acesso e uso da informação para a construção de conhecimento. A abordagem utilizada foi a pesquisa-ação, incluindo atividades de formação dos professores de duas escolas municipais da cidade de Marília ao longo de dezoito meses e tendo como técnicas de coleta de dados: entrevistas com os professores, a aplicação de questionários e análise de relatórios semanais dos professores a respeito das atividades realizadas em sala de aula. Os resultados demonstram que se tem muito a fazer, porém, pode-se perceber mudanças significativas no modo como os professores planejam, utilizam fontes de informação, desenvolvem pesquisa escolar com seus alunos e aplicam noções de normalização dos trabalhos. / The development of information literacy is needed from the earliest school years, as it enhances the ability of people take advantage of one of their fundamental human rights, access the information. outlining by these perspectives, this study aims to provide an overview about the inter-relationship between information literacy and primary education and contribute to guiding frameworks that would facilitate the adoption of reflexive posture, critical and innovative in relation to content resulting from access and use of information for the construction of knowledge. The approach used was action research, including training activities of two public school teachers in the city of Marilia over eighteen months and with the data collection techniques: interviews with teachers, questionnaires and reports analysis weekly teacher about the activities in the classroom. The results show that it has a lot to do, however, can be seen significant changes in the way teachers plan, using information sources, develop school research with their students and apply standards.

Trata-se de um estudo descritivo e exploratório e um estudo de caso dos bibliotecários que atuam nas bibliotecas dos hospitais universitários federais e estaduais. A técnica para coleta de dados utilizada foi o questionário do tipo online. A análise de conteúdo foi a ferramenta metodológica empregada para análise dos dados coletados. Os resultados apontam que os profissionais bibliotecários são predominantemente do sexo feminino, acima dos quarenta anos, com mais de dez anos de formação e menos de dez anos de vínculo institucional. Realizam atividades predominantemente relacionadas ao perfil do bibliotecário médico e as habilidades e competências exigidas durante a prática profissional têm relação com o mesmo perfil. Buscam se atualizar e se capacitar, tendo como preferência cursos presenciais e/ou a distância para desenvolver a competência em informação. Indicaram como barreiras para capacitação a dificuldade para fazer cursos, dificuldade com o uso dos termos técnicos da área e dificuldades na relação com público. Apresentam, em sua maioria, uma perspectiva otimista para o futuro da profissão no ambiente do hospital universitário. Esta pesquisa aponta a importância da educação continuada e especializada como forma do bibliotecário se capacitar e se atualizar para melhor adquirir e desenvolver a competência em informação, especialmente na área da saúde. / Qualitative research that aimed to verify how librarians with different performance profiles, medical, clinical or informationist, develop information literacy in health. It is a descriptive exploratory research by a case study about librarians who work in libraries at federal and state university hospitals. The method used to collect data was online questionnaire. Content Analysis was the methodological technique applied for data analysis. Results point out that librarians are predominantly females, above forty years old, with more than ten years after graduation and less than ten years working at his/her institution. They also perform activities mainly related to the medical librarian profile. The skills and literacy required are also related to the same profile. Librarians prefer to improve themselves in information literacy by classroom courses and/or online learning. They indicated the difficulty to take courses, the difficulty with technical words and relationship with target audience as barriers to achieve self-development. Most of the respondents have an optimistic perspective about the future of their profession within university hospitals. This research indicates the significance of continued and specialized education as a way to librarians improve and, consequently, develop better information literacy, particularly in health.

Parte da análise do papel de educador e mediador do bibliotecário escolar nas atividades de pesquisa escolar. Tem por objetivo identificar a existência de programas e/ou atividades desenvolvidas em Bibliotecas Escolares que apoiem o desenvolvimento de Competências em Informação através do auxílio às atividades de pesquisa escolar. Para cumprir esse propósito, foram selecionadas duas bibliotecas de unidades escolares do Colégio Pedro II, nos campi Centro e São Cristóvão. A coleta de dados se deu através de observação das bibliotecas selecionadas e entrevista com os bibliotecários das unidades. Para desenvolver esta pesquisa, utiliza-se também, como subsídio teórico o conceito de Competência em Informação e de aprender a aprender – aprendizagem por questionamento. Apresenta um histórico da Biblioteca Escolar no Brasil, seu conceito, função, missão e os programas e legislações nacionais de incentivo e implantação do espaço nas unidades educacionais. O estudo mostrou que a Biblioteca Escolar ainda não está totalmente incluída no projeto pedagógico escolar, o que prejudica o pleno aproveitamento do espaço, dos recursos e das atividades e programas, principalmente, direcionados ao desenvolvimento e consolidação da Competência em Informação. E também que, apesar dos esforços dos bibliotecários, o lugar da biblioteca na escola ainda é pouco conhecido pelo corpo escolar e, talvez, até pelos seus profissionais. / This research has a qualitative aspect and discusses the role of schools libraries on the development of Information Literacy among primary school students. It´s based on the evaluation of the part played by the librarians as mediators and educators on the schools researches activates. The purpose is to identify the existence of programs and activates performed on schools libraries that support the development of Information Literacy with the assistance of the schools researches activities. To accomplish this goal, two libraries unities from the Pedro II Scholl (Downtown and São Cristovão) were selected for this research process. The data was collected by observing the selected unites and interviewing their librarians. The development of this research was also based on the theoretical concepts of Information Literacy and the learning thought questioning. It also introduces the concept of schools libraries; an historical background of the institution on Brazil and the programs and national legislations that encourage the implementation of this space on the educational unites. This research has shown that the libraries still haven´t been completely inserted on the educational projects of the schools, witch impacts on the achievement of full use of the space, the resources and the program activities, especially the ones directed to the development and consolidation of the Information Literacy. Even despites all the librarian efforts, the library place on the school system still not very well known by the school staff and even by its own professionals.

Title: School librarians in collaboration The focus of this text is to examine the collaboration between librarians and teachers and how this collaboration can help students achieve better results in school. The school library is often bypassed by teachers. In this lack of involvement and support lies a risk that the gain for students is less than it should be. The purpose of this study aims to investigate if there is any collaboration between the school librarians and the teachers and to what level. The theory used is Patricia Montiel-Overall´s Teacher and Librarian Collaboration (TLC). Seven interviews with school librarians was conducted. Due to being a small study, the material was transcribed into text and read through the perspective of the school librarians only. The findings show collaboration between teachers and librarians is present but to a low level and that administrators do not take such an active part in supporting the librarians. The study provides a glimpse into this field of research on collaboration between teachers and librarians.

Att påvisa vad skolbibliotekarier bidrar med är ett mål som finns inom biblioteksforskning. Idag finns det ingen fråga om att skolbibliotekarier har en del i elevers utveckling tack vare flertal studier som påvisar hur bemanning, arbetstimmar och utbildad personal har en positiv inverkan på elevresultat. Men att peka ut att utbildade skolbibliotekarier är en del av ökad måluppfyllelse och att peka ut vad utbildade skolbibliotekarier faktiskt kan och gör för att öka måluppfyllelse är två olika forskningsingångar. Det är i det sistnämnda området som den här uppsatsen kliver in. Syftet har varit att undersöka vilka kompetenser som utbildade skolbibliotekarier anser att de besitter och som urval har sju stycken gymnasiebibliotekarier intervjuats. Som det uppdagas är informationskompetens, källkritik, användarkunskaper samt viss dokumenthantering, delar som specifikt kopplas till en skolbibliotekaries utbildningsbakgrund. På grund av den korrelationen kan slutsatser tas om att de kompetenserna är en del av pusslet som ligger bakom utbildade skolbibliotekaries bidrag i måluppfyllelse. / To state what school librarians contribute within school systems is one objective within library science. As of today, there is no doubt that school librarians are a part of students’ development due to several studies which show that staffing, work hours and qualified staff has a positive influence over student achievement. But to present how educated school librarians are a part of student achievement and to present what educated school librarians actually know and do to achieve higher student scores are two separate research themes. It is in the latter area this paper commences. The aim has been to study which competencies educated school librarians themselves think they possess and as sampling seven upper secondary school librarians were interviewed. As the results show information literacy, critical thinking, user knowledge and specific record management, are competencies which are thought to originate in the school librarians’ educational background. Due to this correlation conclusions can be made to say that these competencies are a part of the puzzle that explains why educated school librarians have an impact on student achievement.

The thesis can be divided into three main parts, theoretical, analytical and empirical. The first two chapters focus on the theory in the field of reading literacy, specifics of younger schoolchildren, furthermore focuses on the working environment of children's librarians, their competence and skills, particularly in education and basic methods of work with children.
