Barrett, seen through their different expressions of use in ceramic form and ornamentation, architecture and landscape through time and space with special emphasis on the late Neolihtics in the South of England. The analytic vehicle "the reinforcing circle" is used as a new diffusion model suggested by Stuart Needham, and the analytic tool "incubation" is used to structure the process the Beaker-cultures may have used to reach cultural hegemony. Den ökade användningen av internet bland befolkningen har gjort att konsumenterna idag har lättare att införskaffa information om företag, produkter och tjänster samt göra prisjämförelser. På så vis besitter konsumenterna mer kunskaper om produkternas egenskaper. Konsumenterna söker information om produktens egenskaper och gör prisjämförelser genom olika interaktionspunkter. Istället för att påverkas av de traditionella marknadsföringsåtgärderna är det istället konsumenterna som styr sig egen informationssökningsprocess och köpprocess. Våra medverkande respondenters medvetenhet och informationssöknings möjlighet gör att köpprocessen ser annorlunda ut mellan de olika sysselsättningarna. Där pensionärerna tillsammans med arbetarna sticker ut i flera enkätfrågor jämfört med resterande sysselsättningar. Syftet med studien är att analysera hur konsumenternas informationssökning och köpprocess av hemelektronikprodukter ser ut. För att få en ökad förståelse om konsumenternas informationssöknings- och köpprocess av hemelektronikprodukter har material samlats in genom två enkätstudier som har bidragit till studiens genomföranden. Resultatet av studien baseras på informationssökning- och köpprocessen utifrån den moderna cirkulära köpprocessen med hänsyn av de fyra P: n. Resultatet visar att familj och vänner tillsammans med recensioner på internet är de källor som respondenterna förlitar sig mest på och som de anser är mest trovärdiga. Utifrån studiens analys och resultat kan vi dra slutsatsen att reklam på sociala medier är något som majoriteten av alla medverkande respondenter blir påverkade av men däremot är det färre som använder sociala medier vid informationssökningsprocessen. Hemelektronikproduktens miljöpåverkan är en viktig faktor för våra respondenter då flertalet av dessa aktivt väljer att köpa miljövänliga produkter, med kopplingar till att produkten har längre livslängd och lägre elförbrukning. / The increased use of the Internet among the population has made it easier for consumers today to obtain information about companies, products and services as well as price comparisons. In this way, consumers have more knowledge about the properties of the products. Consumers seek information about the product's characteristics and make price comparisons through different interaction points. Instead of being influenced by traditional marketing measures, consumers are instead controlling their own information-seeking process and buying process. The awareness of our participator respondents and the opportunity for information seeking makes the buying process different from the different pursuits. Where the retirees together with the workers stand out in several survey questions compared with the remaining pursuits. The purpose of the study is to analyze how consumers' information search and buying processes of consumer home electronics products look. To gain a better understanding of consumers information- and buying processes of consumer home electronics products, material has been collected through two surveys that have contributed to the study's implementation. The outcome of the study is based on the information- and buying process based on the modern circular buying process taking into consideration of the four Ps. The results show that family and friends along with online reviews are the sources that respondents rely mostly on and which they consider to be most credible. Based on the study's analysis and results, we can conclude that advertising on social media is something that most of all participating respondents are affected by, but on the other hand, fewer people use social media in the information-seeking process. The environmental impact of the home electronics product is an important factor for our respondents, as most of these actively choose to buy environmentally friendly products, coupled with the product's longevity and lower power consumption.

Les essais de fatigue peuvent être effectués dans une gamme de fréquences similaire, mais les fréquences les plus élevés sont généralement préférables afin de réduire le temps de test et d'obtenir des résultats dans une période raisonnable. La question reste à savoir si un effet de fréquence existe. Cette étude traite de l'effet de la fréquence de chargement sur la résistance à l'amorçage et à la propagation des fissures sur 3 matériaux (M800HY, CP1000 et DP1180) utilisés dans le domaine automobile. Deux rapports de charge (R=-1 et 0.1) et cinq fréquences de chargement (25 Hz, 30 Hz, 150 Hz et 20 kHz) ont été étudiés. Tout d'abord, nous avons réalisé des calculs par élément finis en dynamique pour dimensionner les éprouvettes et calculer l'étendue du facteur d'intensité de contrainte durant la propagation de la fissure de fatigue. Ensuite, nous avons réalisé des essais d'amorçage et de propagation. Indépendamment de la fréquence de chargement,l'amorçage de la fissure de fatigue est toujours surfacique à cause des concentrations de contraintes dues au processus de laminage ou de l'électro-galvanisation. L'observation des faciès de rupture sur éprouvettes testées à 30 Hz et 20 kHz montre que le mode de propagation est transgranulaire avec quelques localisations de rupture intergranulaire ou par clivage sur la nuance DP1180. Les stries de propagations sont présentes sur les faciès d'éprouvettes M800HY et absentes sur les faciès des deux autres nuances. La nuance DP1180 présente une meilleure résistance à l'amorçage et à la propagation de la fissure de fatigue. Concernant l'effet de la fréquence de chargement, globalement l'amorçage de la fissure de fatigue est dépendante de la fréquence de chargement, par contre, la propagation est indépendante de la fréquence. / Fatigue tests can be performed in a similar frequency range, but the higherfrequencies are generally preferable to reduce the test time and obtain results within areasonable time. The question remains whether a frequency effect exists. This study dealswith the effect of the loading frequency on fatigue strength and crack growth of 3 steels(M800HY, CP1000 and DP1180) used in automotive industry. Two load ratios (R = -1 and0.1) and five load frequencies (25 Hz, 30 Hz, 150 Hz and 20 kHz) were studied. First, weperformed dynamics finite element method to calculate the dimensions of the specimens(to vibrate with a resonance at 20 kHz), and, the stress intensity range as a function of the length of crack. Then, we have done some test on fatigue crack initiation and propagation. Whatever the loading frequency, the initiation of the fatigue crack is always on the surfacebecause of the stress concentrations due to the rolling process or the electro-galvanization.The observation with SEM of fracture surface of the specimens tested at 30 Hz and 20 kHzshows that the mode of propagation is transgranular with some locations of intergranularfailure or by cleavage on DP1180 grade. The fatigue striation on fracture surface arepresent on the M800HY and absent on the other two materials. The grade DP1180 has abetter resistance to the initiation and propagation of the crack. Regarding the effect ofloading frequency, overall the initiation of the fatigue crack is dependent on the loadingfrequency, however, the propagation is independent of the loading frequency.

Genom analyser av resultaten från inventeringar, observationsstudier, intervjuer, dokumentsanalyser och beprövad praktik undersöks de bakomliggande faktorerna till Borgmästarebryggan, planens överensstämmelse med kommunens mål för att skapa en attraktiv och tillgänglig plats. Därefter kommer en kritisk läsning av planförslaget att utföras med grund i forskning och teorier om attraktivitet och tillgänglighet. Borgmästarebryggans tänkta utformning skapar många goda förutsättningar för att bli en attraktiv och tillgänglig plats för allmänheten. Dock visar arbetet även att den estetiska upprustningen och biltrafiken kring platsen kan skapa begränsningar samt att under vinterhalvåret riskerar Borgmästarebryggan att främst bli attraktiv för en viss samhällsklass på bekostnad av andras tillgänglighet. I jakten på gatukonst har vi i detta kandidatarbete undersökt hur gatukonst kan utvecklas genom nya tekniker och hur plats och gatukonst samspelar och påverkar varandra i ett berättande. För att ta del av hur gatukonst ser ut och används i olika kulturer och miljöer valde vi att resa genom Europas städer och dokumentera gatukonst för att få ett bredare perspektiv. Genom att flyga och tågluffa har vandring och etnografi varit vår metod då vi har rest och vandrat för att kunna skapa denna undersökning. I våran gestaltning vill vi utmana gatukonst och dess gränser och har valt att göra det med augmented reality som verktyg för att skapa platsbaserad gatukonst som kan upplevas ur ett digitalt format i verkligheten. Genom augmented reality kan städer och områden ha gatukonst placerade på byggnaderna trots att det inte finns fysiskt. Det möjliggör ett alternativt sätt att utforska gatukonst genom en digital värld. / In the search for street art we’ve in this project explored how street art can be developed through new techniques and how space and street art interact and influence each other in a narrative way. To find out what street art looks like and how it’s used in different cultures and environments we chose to travel through Europe's cities to document the street art from a broad perspective. By flying, traveling and hiking we have been using walking and ethnography as our methods to create this study. In our design process we want to challenge street art and it’s boundaries and have chosen to do so with augmented reality as a tool for creating site-based street art that can be experienced from a digital format in reality. Through augmented reality, cities and areas can have street art placed on the buildings even though it does not exist physically. It enables alternative ways to explore street art through a digital world.

När nya betongbroar över järnväg ska upprättas finns det många aspekter som försvårar byggandet, som t.ex. att trafiken inte kan stoppas helt förutom under kortare perioder under byggtiden. Tågstoppen planeras in många år i förväg vilket gör att produktionen måste planeras och utföras utefter de planerade stoppen. Det är svårt att få till en industrialiserad brobyggnadsprocess med högre effektivitet och mer upprepning. Den traditionella platsgjutna metoden är den metod som är vanligast i Sverige trots att det finns metoder som skulle kunna ersätta den. Det huvudsakliga syftet med rapporten är att ta reda på om prefabricerade betongelement på plats är en möjlig metod för att underlätta byggandet av nya betongbroar över järnväg. Denna rapport baseras på en fallstudie av ett befintligt broprojekt för att se vilka fördelar och förbättringar metoden med prefab på plats kan ge i olika aspekter. Utöver detta har intervjuer och en enkätundersökning genomförts för att samla in material och åsikter om prefab och industrialiserade brobyggnadsprocesser. Resultatet i denna rapport visar att metoden med prefab på plats är mer fördelaktig än den traditionella platsgjutna metoden i flera hänseenden. Det är en metod som gör det möjligt att nå upprepning och serietillverkning av broar. Vid intervjuerna framkom att entreprenörerna är intresserade av prefablösningar men bland annat krav på utformning och konservativ syn på prefab från beställarna hindrar möjligheterna för att tillämpa metoden / When new concrete bridges over railway is to be established there are many aspects that complicates the construction, such as that traffic not can be stopped completely except for short periods during the construction process. The train stop is planned many years in advance, which means that construction must be planned and performed along the planned stops. It is difficult to get to an industrial bridge construction process with higher efficiency and more repetition. The traditional cast on site method is the most common in Sweden although there are methods that could replace it. The main purpose of the report is to find out if precast concrete elements on site is a possible method to facilitate the construction of new concrete bridges over the railway. This report is based on a case study of an existing bridge project to see the benefits and improvements the method with precast on site can provide in various aspects. Also interviews and surveys was conducted to collect opinions about prefabrication and industrial bridge construction. The results in this report show that the method of prefab on site is more advantageous than the traditional cast on site method in several respects. It is a method that makes it possible to reach repetition and serial production of bridges. The interviews revealed that contractors are interested in prefabricated solutions, but among other requirements for the design and conservative view of prefabrication from clients prevents the possibility of applying the method.

Space and Sensibility : Young Men’s Risk-Taking with Motor Vehicles / Rum och känsla : Unga mäns risktagande med motorfordon

In this ethnographic study of “Volvo greasers” [Volvoraggare] in a peri-urban community in Sweden, risk-taking practices with motor vehicles, such as speeding and drifting, are explored and analyzed in relation to age, gender, class and place. Young men’s risk-taking with motor vehicles regularly generates public debate as a traffic safety issue, often resulting in various policy suggestions, such as curfews or raising of the driving licence age. Seldom are these suggested solutions based on critical ethnographic research where intersections of age, gender, class and place are highlighted. The study is based on ethnographic fieldwork, that is, participant observation, and informal and formal interviews, with greaser men and women between the ages of 15 and 19, as well as formal interviews with pupils at the local high school and with youth centre staff in the local community. The study has two overarching aims. The first is empirical: to make visible an under-studied area of contemporary youth culture in Sweden – the (Volvo) greasers. In order to understand how the greasers’ risk-taking with vehicles is manifested, talked about and practised, the thesis critically engages with the contexts of the risk-taking practices and their effects at both the material and the discursive levels. The second aim is theoretical. Through contextualization as an analytical tool, a theoretical contribution of the thesis is the development of a situated concept of risk‐taking. The thesis illustrates how intersecting norms and conceptions around age, gender, class and place are practised at the local level, thus highlighting the social character of risk--‐taking practices. A central analytical notion is the greasers’ negotiation of place, developed through the concept of spatial boredom, which affects their construction of personhood and their social practices. In light of this, the thesis suggests that situated risk-taking with motor vehicles benefit from being formulated as violations, which furthers the understanding of young people’s risk-taking practices with motor vehicles and paves the way for more multi-faceted discussions in theory, as well as in practice and policy-making around traffic safety. / I denna etnografiska studie av "Volvoraggare" i ett stadsnära samhälle i Sverige undersöks risktagande praktiker med motorfordon, såsom fortkörning och sladdande, och analyseras i förhållande till ålder, kön, klass och plats. Unga mäns risktagande med motorfordon genererar ofta offentlig debatt som en trafiksäkerhetsfråga, vilket har resulterat i olika politiska förslag som t.ex. utegångsförbud eller höjning av körkortsåldern. Sällan är dessa föreslagna lösningar baserade på kritisk etnografisk forskning där intersektioner av ålder, kön, klass och plats studeras. Studien är baserad på etnografiskt fältarbete, det vill säga deltagande observation och informella och formella intervjuer med unga raggare, män och kvinnor, i åldern 15 till 19, samt intervjuer med elever från det lokala högstadiet och med personal på den lokala fritidsgården. Studien har två övergripande syften. Det första syftet med studien är empiriskt: att synliggöra ett understuderat område av samtida ungdomskultur i Sverige --‐ (Volvo) raggare. För att förstå hur raggarnas risktagande med fordon manifesteras, talas om och praktiseras, diskuterar avhandlingen kontexten för och effekterna av de risktagande praktikerna på materiell och diskursiv nivå. Det andra syftet är teoretiskt. Med hjälp av kontextualisering som ett analytiskt verktyg är ett av avhandlingens teoretiska bidrag en vidareutveckling av risktagande som ett situerat begrepp. Avhandlingen visar hur normer och föreställningar kring ålder, kön, klass och plats praktiseras på lokal nivå och belyser därmed de risktagande praktikernas sociala karaktär. Ett centralt analytiskt begrepp för att förstå raggarnas förhandling med plats är rumslig tristess, vilket påverkar deras konstruktion av personskap och deras sociala praktiker. Mot bakgrund av detta föreslår avhandlingen att situerat risktagande med motorfordon bör omformuleras som kränkningar, vilket ytterligare skulle utveckla förståelsen av ungdomars risktagande praktiker med motorfordon och bana väg för en mer mångfacetterad diskussion inom såväl teori som inom trafiksäkerhetspraktik och ‐politik.

Everyday Mobility and Travel Activities during the first years of Retirement / Vardagsmobilitet och resande under de första åren som pensionär

Mobility is central to living an independent life, to participating in society, and  to maintaining well-being in later life. The point of departure in this thesis is that retirement implies changes in time-space use and interruption in routines, which influence demands and preconditions for mobility in different ways. The aim of this thesis is to explore mobility strategies and changes in mobility upon retirement and how mobility develops during the first years of retirement. A further aim is to provide knowledge of the extent to which newly retired people maintain a desired mobility based on their needs and preconditions. The thesis is empirically based on travel diaries kept by newly retired people, and qualitative interviews with the same persons, and follow-up interviews three and a half years later. The results show that mobility is a way of forming a structure in the new everyday life as retirees by getting out of the house, either just for a walk or to do errands.  Many  patterns  of everyday life remain the same upon retirement, but the informants also merge new responsibilities and seek new social arenas and activities. As a result, the importance of   the car have not changed, but it is used for other reasons than before. After leaving paid work, new space-time constraints are created which influences demands for mobility. The study further shows that “third places” become important, especially among those who live alone, as they give an opportunity to being part of a social context and a reason for getting out of the house. The follow-up interviews revealed that declining health changes the preconditions for mobility. Daily walks had to be made shorter, and the car had to be used for most errands to where they previously could walk or cycle. However, mobility can also be maintained despite a serious illness and a long period of rehabilitation. / Mobilitet är en förutsättning för oberoende, delaktighet och välbefinnande när man åldras. Utgångspunkten i avhandlingen är att pensioneringen innebär tidsrumsliga förändringar och brott i rutiner som på olika sätt påverkar människors behov av att resa och deras förutsättningar för mobilitet. Syftet med avhandlingen är att utforska mobilitetsstrategier och förändringar i mobilitet i samband med pensioneringen samt hur mobiliteten utvecklas under de första åren som pensionär. Ambitionen är att öka kunskapen om i vilken utsträckning nya pensionärer upprätthåller en önskad mobilitet utifrån deras egna behov och förutsättningar. Avhandlingen baseras empiriskt på resedagböcker som nyblivna pensionärer har fört och kvalitativa intervjuer med samma personer, samt uppföljningsintervjuer tre och ett halvt år senare. Resultaten visar att mobiliteten är en strategi för att skapa en struktur i vardagen som pensionär genom att komma hemifrån, t.ex. för att ta en promenad eller för att uträtta ärenden. Många vardagsmönster behålls vid pensioneringen men informanterna finner också nya åtaganden och söker nya sociala arenor och aktiviteter. Betydelsen av bilen har inte förändrats men den används av andra anledningar än tidigare. Vid pensioneringen skapas andra tidsrumsliga begränsningar vilka inverkar på efterfrågan på mobilitet. Resultaten visa också att "tredje platser" blir viktiga, särskilt bland dem som lever ensamma, eftersom de ger en möjlighet att vara en del av ett socialt sammanhang och en anledning att komma hemifrån. Uppföljningsintervjuerna visade att förutsättningarna för mobilitet förändras när hälsan försämras. Promenaderna blir kortare och bilen används i högre utsträckning för de ärenden dit de tidigare kunde gå eller cykla. Men trots allvarliga sjukdomar och långa perioder av rehabilitering kan mobiliteten upprätthållas.
