The purpose of the study is through life interviews examine how older women talk about their lives, how dreams, life choices and self-understandings are formed and renegotiated in relation to social norms and structures. The study is based on interviews with six different women. The empirical focus of the study is women born and raised in the countryside of Västerbotten, Sweden during the 1930’s and 1940’s. The analysis of the material is based on narrative perspective, with inspiration from the theory of performativity, an intersectional understanding of gender, age, social class and place. The results of the study show that identity can be understood as part of a narrative construction and that the way the life-story is structured interacts with age. In the narrative, memories are given a certain meaning and are presented as central to the whole course of life's entirety. In the women's narrative, it has become clear that the dreams that are formulated are largely the result of intersectional factors; gender, class, age and place, and that dreams are constructed in relation to one's own self-understanding. Many of the women express a satisfaction with the life that has been, but there are also dreams that have continued to function as an alternative narrative to the life that is lived. Some dreams still have a chance to come true, while others act a "what if" next to the existence of life.

I samband med covid-19-pandemins utbrott begränsade lärosätesbiblioteken tillgången till det fysiska biblioteksrummet. Samtidigt gjordes bibliotekets resurser tillgängliga digitalt i allt större utsträckning. Detta har lett till en utmaning för biblioteken i att expandera bilden av biblioteket till något mer än en samling resurser. Syftet med denna studie är därför att undersöka studenters användning och upplevelser av lärosätesbibliotek. Ett särskilt fokus ligger på att undersöka deras upplevelser av platskänsla, och biblioteket som en social mötesplats, samt om detta kan ha påverkats av covid-19-pandemin. I denna studie användes kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer som metod. Resultatet har därefter analyserats genom ett teoretiskt ramverk bestående av dels Ray Oldenburgs begrepp third place, dels en samlad förståelse av begreppet sense of place, men med fokus på Edward Relphs definition av begreppet. I studien genomfördes fyra intervjuer med lärarstudenter från ett svenskt lärosäte. Studiens resultat indikerar att det kan finnas en koppling mellan studenters biblioteksanvändning och deras upplevelse av platskänsla i biblioteket, samt att covid-19-pandemin kan ha varit en bidragande faktor i detta. / In response to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, academic libraries limited access to the physical library space. At the same time, the library's resources became increasingly available digitally. This has posed a challenge for libraries in expanding the image of the library beyond a collection of resources. The purpose of this study is therefore thus: to investigate students' usage and experiences of acamdemic libraries, and to examine their experiences of sense of place and the library as a social meeting place, and whether this may have been influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Qualitative semi-structured interviews were used in this study. The results were then analyzed through a theoretical framework consisting of Ray Oldenburg's concept of third place, as well as a collective understanding of the concept of sense of place, with a focus on Edward Relph's definition of the concept. The study conducted four interviews with teacher education students from a Swedish university. The results of the study indicate that there may be a connection between students' library usage and their experience of sense of place in the library, and that the COVID-19 pandemic may have been a contributing factor in this regard.

This thesis is an exploration of body and space, respectively as well as of the interaction that occurs between the two. The study is mainly written within the discourse of embodiment and phenomenology, primarily building upon the works of Juhani Pallasmaa and Maurice Merleau-Ponty. It is depicted how various cultural and scientific perspectives shape different concepts and in turn, how the world is known. Using synergy by combining theories and observations from fields of research such as the history of ideas, cultural geography, and neuroscience enables new ways of defining and understanding space, place, and body. In such a context, architecture becomes a multimodal and multisensory phenomenon that shapes the body living within its rooms. In turn, the room is a portrayal of the human body considering the human being knows and becomes aware of the surroundings through the faculties of her body and mind; the body and the world are integrated entities. Also drawing upon evolutionary evidence makes a clear image of the human being’s spatial predispositions and preferences become salient. Thus the built space is an extension of a holistically constituted body, a body that embraces several types of intellect. In all, this thesis illustrates that space and place rather than being a mere physical construct are transactional structures made up of affordances and possibilities for living.

Uppsatsen undersöker och analyserar Julius Kronbergs plafondmålningar i förhållande till det svenska 1800-talets uppfattning om stilkategorin rokoko och vilka funktionella aspekter som kan tillskrivas målningar på platser av särskild karaktär eller offentlig utsmyckning. Undersökningen dechiffrerar 1800-talets visuella och litterära bearbetning av 1700-talets stilepok och vilka implikationer det hade på det svenska konstlivet, där särskilda egenskaper och epitet tillräknas rokokon och på vilket sätt det återspeglas i Julius Kronbergs målningar. Uppsatsen tar även fasta på platserna där plafonderna befinner sig, för att analysera de som något mer än estetiska utsagor, med hjälp av de operativa begreppen plats och funktion, där den teoretiska grunden främst återfinns i Gregor Paulssons “konstens sociala dimension”. Den avslutande diskussionen resonerar kring den mångfacetterade adaptionen av 1700-talets visuella kultur som intresset för rokokon utmynnade i, där 1800-talets förankring i perioden främst bestod av romantisk nostalgi och poetisk fiktion snarare än egna upplevelser, där Julius Kronbergs målningar blev ett sätt att knyta an perioden genom en svensk kontext. Plafonderna verkar även på platser som besitter förmågan att formulera funktionella aspekter, målningarna förstärker, förändrar och artikulerar dem. Där en förening mellan uppfattningen om rokokon och plafondernas funktionella aspekter, har uppenbarats.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka svenskspråkiga poptexter under 2000- och 2010-talet. Genom att göra en textanalys av två svenskspråkiga poptexter samt en kontextualisering ämnar jag försöka se hur de gestaltar sig samt försöka utröna gemensamma nämnare för svenskspråkiga poptexter under dessa angivna år. De teoretiska perspektiv som används är popmusikens text och syftar hur det personliga – autentiska - skapas inom svenskspråkiga poptexter, hur identitet spelar in i skapandet av svenskspråkiga poptexter samt hur den eklektiska popmusiken låter sig inspireras av olika referenser i skapandet av dessa. Genom att göra en djupanalys av två svenskspråkiga poptexter försöker jag utröna vad som skapar det personliga – autentiska – i dessa texter och genom att kontextualisera hur det skapas ämnar jag se gemensamma nämnare inom den alternativa popgenren. Jag kommer fram till att det huvudsakliga målet med att skriva på svenska är att det blir personligare och närmare svenska lyssnare. Jag kommer fram till att det personliga – autentiska – skapas genom användandet av jagperspektiv, svenska kulturreferenser, geografiska platsangivelser samt till viss del en känsla av otillräcklighet inför förväntningar på textens jag i förhållande till omvärlden. / Thepurposeof this paper is to examinethe Swedish-­‐speaking poplyrics in 2000's and 2010’s. By doing a textual analysis of two Swedish-­‐language poplyrics and a contextualization, I intend to try to see how they portray themselves, and attempt to discoverthe common denominator for Swedish-­‐speaking poplyrics during these specified years. The theoretical perspective used is pop music's text and purpose the personal ‐ authentic ‐ created in the Swedish-­‐speaking poplyrics, how identity plays into the creation of the Swedish-­‐speaking poplyrics and how the eclectic pop music is inspired by various references in the creation of these. By doing a deep analysis of two Swedish-­‐language poplyrics I try to find out what makes it personal ­‐ authentic ‐ in these lyrics and by contextualize how it is created, I intend to see commonalities in the alternative popgenre. I conclude that the main goal of writing in Swedish is that it becomes more personal and closer to Swedish listeners. I conclude that the personal - authentic ­‐ created through the use of the I­‐perspective, Swedish culture references, geographical place names and some with a sense of inadequacy for expectations of the text I in relation to theworld.
