Simuleringsmodell för älvsystem med vattenkraftverk

Öberg, Anton January 2021 (has links)
To be able to optimally plan hydropower production Vattenfall has constructed an optimization tool. This tool is simplified to keep calculation times low. The solutions are therefore not trusted to be realizable. To test if a solution can be applied in reality, Vattenfall wants to make simulations with the optimization solution as input. The aim of this project has therefore been to construct a simulation model based on table data, the best possible description of reality available. The simulation model is regarded as reliable for visualization of a proposed plan. By using optimization solutions as input to the simulation model the feasibility of the optimization solution is tested. Simulations show that optimization solutions generally are not realizable. Therefore, the simulation model was designed to calibrate the approximated relation between flow and power used in the optimization model, using the simulation result. The optimization solutions after calibration came closer to feasibility. A margin of error under 1% can be expected, when looking at the complete time period. Instantaneous error can reach over 10% and are not decreased by calibration. By modifying the optimization solutions the simulation model can produce realizable solutions, but then optimality is lost. The modified solutions also often violatelegal boundaries, regarding for example water levels. The simulation times were aimed to be kept low, but results show that a simulation can take several times longer than an optimization with the same time steps. It also requires higher time resolution to produce reliable results leading to even longer simulation times.

Integration av simuleringsmodeller för bränslesystemet i JAS 39 Gripen / Integration of Simulation Models for the Fuel System in JAS 39 Gripen

Lindgren, Michael January 2002 (has links)
In this final thesis two simulation models have been integrated. The simulation models are models of JAS 39 Gripen’s fuel system, software and hardware. The time consuming and costly work to develop software has made the department of fuel system to build two models in Xmath/Systembuild. The software model also simplifies the comprehension of how the software in the control computer of the fuel system works. Before the final thesis was done the software and hardware models were used separately and for different purposes. The software model wasused for verification and validation, and the hardware model for the system simulator. Because of the complex software it was a requirement to be able to simulate the software and hardware when they were connected, which would make it possible to study the different control signals generated by the software. To do that an interface between the user and the simulation model was created because it takes too much time to set all the inputs to the simulations model. The final thesis was assumed to deal only with an upgrading of the software model. The models have been connected and a user’s interface has been created with help of the program language Mathscript, which is a part of Xmath. A user’s guide is written so the user can simulate without experience of Xmath/Systembuild. With the connected models the user can now efficiently simulate and the result can be saved for later usage. The user can also simulate predefined missions from Saabs system simulator.

Modellering av spårvidd över bandel 119 inom Stambanan genom Övre Norrland : Kandidatuppsats i Statistik och dataanalys / Modeling of the track gauge on section 119 in the Main Line through Upper Norrland : Bachelor thesis in Statistics and data analysis

Berglund, Frida, Oskarsson, Mayumi Setsu January 2015 (has links)
The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) has been in charge of the maintenance of the railway systems since 2010. The railway requires regular maintenance in order to keep tracks in good condition for passengers and other transports safety. To insure this safety it is important to measure the tracks geometrical condition. The gauge is one of the most important geometrics that cannot be too wide or narrow. The aim of this report is to create a model that is able to simulate the deviation from normal gauge from track geometrics and properties. The deviation from normal gauge is a random quantity that we modeled as a generalized linear model or a generalized additive model. The models can be used to simulate the possible values of the deviation. It was demonstrated in this study that GAM was able to model most of the variation in the deviation from normal gauge with the information from some track geometrics and properties.

Nackfors, Glenn, Hodo, Damir January 2015 (has links)
This thesis work in automation technology at 30 credits is conducted at Volvo Cars Cooperation (VCC) in collaboration with the University of Skövde. With the current staffing method VCC are experiencing difficulties achieving an optimal utilization of operators as there has been difficult to ascertain how much work an operator can handle. Operators are an often overlooked part of simulation studies because they are complex to model. The completed thesis consists of developing a standardized operator object in the simulation software Plant Simulation, developed by Siemens. Using this object, it will be easier to staff optimally with respect to the number of work areas, operator skills and how many operators that are required for the given work areas. The existing VCC Plant Simulation library already has an object for operators. This operator object was used as the basis for the development of the new operator object. When developing the new object, data collection was made in form of both qualitative and quantitative data to find out what functionality the new object needed. The existing object was evaluated against the functionality requirements to determine what were needed to be added, removed or modified. Five main areas were considered important to develop: (1) operators that can work across two or more work areas, (2) walking time for operators, (3) learning effect, (4) the learning curve for operators and (5) operators who work on different shifts. The learning curve was only partly developed, but the other four areas were fully implemented. In order to test and analyze the object, three experiments were carried out using different case studies, where one of these cases studies was a real production line. The experimental design was jointly created with the VCC reference group and the University of Skövde. The main objectives of the experiments were to reduce the number of operators and increase throughput per hour. The result of the optimisation of the real production line showed that a significantly smaller staffing could be achieved without a major effect on the throughput. The results of the project were that a standardized operator object was developed according to the specifications and objectives set for the project. This object provides the ability to quickly and easily implement operators in a simulation model. To verify the applicability of the operator object, it was successfully imported and used for simulation-based optimisation in three different simulation models. The operator object also contains functionalities that provide more realistic operators, such as the walk time to the operations, operators that can work across several work areas and competence for operators as well as learning. The results of this project involve a simpler implementation of more realistic operators and thus lead to more realistic simulation models.

Gotlands, Edgars, Lindmark, Niklas January 2018 (has links)

Förslag på flexibel och balanserad monteringslinje : Manuellt monteringsflöde för säsongsberoende efterfrågan / Suggestions on a flexible and balanced Assembly line : Manually assembly line for seasonal demand

Danielsson, Thomas January 2017 (has links)
Volvo GTO Powertrain is facing the introduction of three new product types of products which shall replace existing product types. In the current situation are the products, which shall be replace by new product types, assembled in three separate flows. The introduction of the new product types includes that two product types are being assembled in the same assembly flow. The purpose of this report is to make suggestions on assembly flows that have the flexibility to produces two of the new product types in the same assembly flow with associated trial area. The assembly flow shall also accomplish the customer’s demand depending on season with 23 - 40 products per shift, with a difference of ± 2,5 %. To adjust the quantity that shall be produced depending on season shall be done by adjusting the quantity of fitters in the assembly flow and the quantity of operators in the trial area. To create an understanding of the existing assembly flows has an analysis of the present situation, of the assembly flows which shall be combined into one assembly flow, been completed. The data collection in the analysis of the present situation has been completed through interviews with production engineers staff, also by studying the AviX analysis concerning the existing assembly flows. The analysis of the present situation has been founded to create an understanding of how the assembly works today. Furthermore, Volvo has developed a proposal on how the future assembly flow shall look like. Volvo’s proposal has been founded to create an understanding of the future assembly flow with associated trial area. To achieve the purpose of this work has two simulation models been created to test the system under different scenarios to manage the varying demand. One of the simulation models is using Volvo’s proposal on the future system and the other model has adjusted cycle times in the trial area through experiments, the work pace in the assembly flow has been rebalanced and the OEE in the trial run has been increased. The results from the experiments are that the simulation model with adjusted cycle times, rebalanced and increased OEE is capable of coping with the varying demand on 23 – 40 products per shift. However, relatively large adjustments were required from Volvo’s proposal to achieve the desired demand. A table of staffing was created to determine how many fitters and operators were required depending on the quantity of demanded products.

Evaluation of measures to deal with space constraints in BillerudKorsnäs finished goods inventory in Skärblacka.

Wernersson, Emil, Wiksborg, Tim January 2017 (has links)

Kapcitetsanalys i Emballeringen : Emballeringslinjen: Kapacitetsanalys och flödesåtgärder inför potentiellproduktionsökning / Capacity Analysis in the Wrapping Line : Wrapping Line: An Analysis of Capacity and Arrangements in Flow for aPotential Increase in Production

Östlund, Hugo January 2021 (has links)
This project was implemented during spring 2021 as a bachelor thesis for the Bachelor Engineering Program in Mechanical Engineering at Karlstads University. The project wascarried out in collaboration with Stora Enso Skoghall Mill, which produces different types of cardboard material. In 2020, the overall production capacity was 875 000 tons of cardboard material. In November 2020 Skoghall Mill was authorized to precede an investigation regarding a possible production increase, which would result in a self-sufficient pulp production and an increase of 120 000 tons cardboard material per year.  The cardboard is winded into rolls before they are being transported to the customers. Before the transportation, the reels are given a protecting wrapping. This procedure occurs in a production segment called the Wrapping Line, which is a part of the Finishing Department. The Wrapping Line is one of the production areas that would be affected by a potential increase of production. Therefore, the responsible of the unit wanted to examine if the Wrapping Linehad enough capacity for a potential increase of this size.  The purpose of this paper was to carry out a capacity analysis for the line, identify bottlenecks in the flow and to present arrangements to make the production line more effective. Furthermore, an additional purpose was to identify how long the maintenance stops could beif the potential production increase is approved.  The capacity analysis was carried out using a simulation software called JaamSim. A model of the existing system was built in JaamSim, which afterwards was analyzed. The capacity analysis showed that Emballeringen has the needed capacity if the production increase isapproved. The capacity analysis also displayed the possible length of maintenance stops. Arrangements in flow was presented and prioritized so that the capacity in the Wrapping Linewould increase further.

Improvement of a longterm energy demand forecasting model on a European scale, from data collection to modelling

Retailleau, Kévin January 2023 (has links)
Energy demand forecasting has been more vital in recent years with countries setting goals to become climate neutral by 2050. Indeed, energy demand forecasting allows the understanding of drivers of the energy demand in all sectors of the economy. It also allows the planning of transformation of the future energy system. This study focuses on forecasting energy demand in Europe using a multi-country bottom-up modelling approach. The work explores ways of collecting large quantity of data to feed an energy model and method of completion for missing data series. It also aims at studying attributes that make a model user friendly and easy to use for the modelling of several countries. A model and a database are developed to answer these questions. A case application is conducted on the specific topic of the phase out of internal combustion engines in the EU to validate model dynamics and practical use. It is found that an energy demand forecasting model is easier and more time efficient to use with an included historical database. The case study shows that multi-country modelling can be relevant for policy assessment. Finally, improvements and future developments are proposed for the present work.
