Arvidsson, Inger, Karastogianni, Vasiliki January 2009 (has links)
Today older people’s health and life quality are current topics of conversation in society. The number of old people is increasing and their health is deteriorating, that is why there is a need of new ways of meeting their necessities. In this study we have tried to illustrate heads of districts reasoning concerning pets’ significance for old people in special housing. The purpose of the study is to investigate the management’s awareness and preparedness around and also management of pets in special housing in a county. We have also had a look at the practical work with pets in special housing. The material in the study comes from qualitative interviews. One geriatric care manager and six heads of districts with the responsibility of special housing for old people under municipal management have been interviewed. In our interpretation we have used Brülde’s theory (2003) of life quality called “a mixed theory of happy character”. Brülde combines elements from hedonism, the theory of fulfillment of wishes and from the objective pluralism to make his own theory. The result from the study shows that all heads of districts are positive to have pets in special housing and that all special housing has or has had pets in some form. The contact with pets gives many old people a better life quality with happiness, an increased well-being and decreases the sense of loneliness.

Gender, a social construction? : - A Socialpsychology study about if and howinteractions are influenced by the genderorder in thenon-verbal communication during employmentinterviews.

Jafarneiad, Laleh January 2009 (has links)

Domachowska, Joanna, Grönlund, Rebecca January 2010 (has links)
What is the government mandate Voluntary repatriation about? That was the question we asked ourselves during the report's time. Using a qualitative approach in the form of semi-structured interviews was the hope to understand the Government mission and its purpose in Swedish society. Through concepts such as segregation, stigmatization, rationality, solidarity and the relational and punctuate perspectives we have gained an appreciation for the immigrant's problem of adaptation in Swedish society, in which we can experience problems when immigrants have difficulty getting the support he needs to take a decision on issues that remain or repatriate. We have also chosen to deal with Foucault's concept of the disciplining power of the State and society complicates the decision immigrant faces. In this way, it was shown that the immigrant repatriation concerns with living in a complex situation where both societies makes it difficult and that his thoughts are not legitimate, and that the government mandate is added as a pre-taking that decision regardless of what decision then becomes, to stay or return.

Unga vuxna som fortfarande bor hemma. : - En kvalitativ studie som omfattar familjens erfarenhet om unga vuxnas levnadssituation / Young adults still living at home. : - A study involving thefamily's experience with young adults'living situations.

Ekström, Sara January 2011 (has links)
Abstract In my C-essay,I would like to find out how individual and socialrelations are affected by young adults livingat home longer. Varför just nu? : En kvalitativ studie av ett hälsoprojekt

Johansson, Marcus, Öjhage, Patrik, Amnell, Martin January 2010 (has links)

Personlig Assistans : utifrån assistentens perspektiv / Personal Assistants : from the assistant's perspective

Andersson, Cecilia, Bergwall, Emelie January 2010 (has links)
Personal assistants ' descriptions of their own professional role are usually removed for the benefit of users ' description of the profession. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the assistants perceive their profession by providing assistants a possibility to talk about their experiences of the profession. Data has been collected by twelve interviews with active working personal assistants aged 22-57 years. Assistants interviewed have different experiences and working with people with various disabilities. The method used is a qualitative method with a narrative analysis method, where the twelve interviews have been merged into four fictional stories. The theoretical basis used is the role of theory in which personal assistant may act according to different roles. The result shows that the assistants in our study enjoy their profession more than previous studies have shown. However, experience also assistants in this study to the status of the profession and salary is low.

Impact on participation and service for persons with deafblindness

Möller, Kerstin January 2008 (has links)
Persons with deafblindness experience difficulties in daily life and they experience service to sometimes barrier. The overall aim of this thesis is therefore to discover, evaluate and explain: 1. mechanisms that might have impact on participation restrictions for people who have visual and hearing impairment i.e. deafblindness and 2. mechanisms that might barrier service to these people. Service is used as an umbrella term for health care, education and certain service for persons with disabilities. Materials from multiple sources have been used: literature (Study I No 96 papers). Interviews (Study I and V) with 32 and 3 adults with deafblindness respectively. Questionnaires (Study II and III): answered by 33 and 34 adults and youth with deafblindness. Patient records (Study IV and V): records from 9 and 3 adult females with USH I respectively. Materials mostly retrospectively cover the period from 2005 and about 40–50 years. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were used. International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) were consequently used as a framework to describe as well as a tool to analyze mechanisms. Further, the Ecological approach, Disability as a laminated system and Life course approach were used in order to evaluate and explain mechanisms. The conclusions that can be drawn from an ecological, laminated and life course approach are: Participation restrictions for people with deafblindness are far-reaching and are embedded in a complex process of interaction between the person with deafblindness and the environment. Services entail systematical barriers. In order to improve service it is extremely important to understand the role of participation restrictions in deafblindness. Primary activity limitation is to not see and hear enough for comprehension. Hence, not taking part in the visible and audible world is primary participation restriction. Performing activities without basic information includes risk. One important aspect of deafblindness is exposure. Persons with deafblindness require rehabilitation in a life perspective. In order to increase people’s participation and protection requirement of individually adapted support and assistive devices is necessary. ICF and the UN convention support service alterations.
