Thus, two experiments were performed with 19 and 14 participants, mostly university students from PUC-SP, from several courses. The experimental task, which was presented and performed using a computer software (Meta 3), was performed in group, three participants each time, featuring a generation. By the end of each generation the oldest participant was substituted by a new naive one. The experimental task consisted in inserting numbers in empty espaces on the computer s screen. The relation between the numbers inserted by the participants and the numbers presented by the computer generated points, the individual consequence; and the relation between the sum of the numbers inserted by a participant and the sum of the numbers inserted by the others genrated bonuses, the cultural consequence. By the end of the participation, each participant was given R$0,01 for each 10 points or bonuses produced, by way of cost assistance. The Experiment 1 began with the forced ordering of participant responding in force, and later, the ordering was withdrawn. The results points out that ocurred operant selection and selecton and selection of the interlocking behavioral contingêncies and aggregate outcome with the ordering of participants responding and maintenance of it, and that when the ordering of responding was suspended, it were not observed any effects on the maintenance of the interlocking behavioral contingencies and aggregate outcome. Experiment 2 started without the ordering of participants responding, which was put in force after production of bonuses stability for five genarations was reached. The interlocking behavioral contingencies and the aggregate outcome weres selected and mantained throughout the experiment, without suffering any ruptures after the insertion of the ordering of participants responding. Thus, it was concluded that the ordering of participants responding didn t produce any observable effects upon the selection and maintenance of the interlocking behavioral contingencies and aggregate outcome / O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar os efeitos de um procedimento de ordenação do responder dos participantes sobre a seleção e a manutenção de contingências comportamentais entrelaçadas e do produto agregado pelas consequências culturais.

Its main objective is to identify its dynamic processes of transformation, as well as strategies used by slaved Africans to both adapt to the "new world ", and to perpetuate the ties that bound them to Africa, a necessary step to resist colonial power embodied into oppression and violence. In addition to the seasonality of the period between Christmas and January 6, these black festivities share fragments of performative literacies , which inspite of their similarities and differences are revealing the contribution of African civilization in the Americas. We propose to "read" these festivities through, mainly, cultural practices, customs and the African body which in its displacement uploaded experiences and knowledge / Este trabalho acompanha a emergência de festas de protagonismo negro, de ocorrência no ciclo natalino, em regiões do Brasil e do Caribe, durante os séculos XVIII e XIX.

St-Germain Blais, Karine 12 1900 (has links)
This dissertation seeks to conceptualize the socialization/individualization dialectic at work in the formation and transmission of cultural tastes and practices among young adults. The analysis of ten interviews, conducted with young Montrealers aged 18 to 24, reveals that socialization operating within the family and school remains active without being coercive, because it proves favourable to the aptitude of young people to define themselves autonomously and to develop their own tastes in cultural practices. Peers also play a role in this regard, a role amplified by digital means. Relationships between peers generate tensions between group conformity and willingness to be authentic and to act upon one’s behalf. New technologies of information and communication, furthermore, appear as a source of socialization and individualization by providing access to "networks" that inflect the tastes and preferences shaping the practice of culture, while simultaneously allowing young adults the freedom to develop themselves.

De la communauté de savoir à l’inspiration intime : la petite revue de patrimoine, marqueur de nouvelles identités régionales en France sous la IIIe République / Small magazines about local heritage as markers for a definition of regional identities under the IIIth Republic

Dhermy, Arnaud 14 October 2017 (has links)
Corollary of the rural exodus and the industrialization, a focus on the local heritage and on the regional area emerges in France at the end of the 19th century. This concern manifests itself through the regeneration and the dynamism of journals intended for new social groups yearning for cultural activities. Prefiguration of the magazine, these journals contribute, inside of French Regions, to the definition of the regional identities. They enable the expansion of the making of heritage, previously limited to history, literature and philology, and its democratization, thanks to the valorization of popular traditions, to the private practice of the areas (tourism, environment) et to its esthetical approach. They also seek the individualization of a so far communal relation to territories. Finally, they rejuvenate a conception of heritage based on legacy and atavism, in favor of a more modern concept of chosen heritage, especially in the context of escaping daily life.

Benditos Amaros - remanescentes quilombolas de Paracatu: memórias, lutas e práticas culturais (1940-2004)

Silva, Paulo Sérgio Moreira da 28 February 2012 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The research of Family Amaros is, in some sense, the continuity of the master thesis, entitled The Caretagem as cultural practice: faith, blackness and revelry in Paracatu, MG(1960-1980) and, consequently, the induced understand its displacement relative to a neighborhood on the outskirts of the city of Paracatu and understand their wiles and cultural resistance, especially with regard to the struggles and conflicts that have undertaken the process of resuming possession of their lands and farm Pituba. In this sense, this research on the family of Amaros aimed to deepen their ritual context, which aims to establish a dialogue that goes beyond a simple reading of the daily life they represent, because the trajectory envisioned an understanding of family and kinship network woven from cultural shaped face and survive the social and political issues experienced. In vieis, this agenda is the political struggle for social rights of the family land located on the farm of Amaros, Pituba, from which they were expropriated from the year 1940. In this political process was evidence the persistence of the values and traditions of African descent enrolled in a memory that moved to the urban periphery recreate their culture, their way of life, combining the family around their celebrations, sociability, arts and craft activities as a way of living maintain their cultural identity. From this point of view, we conceive the political struggle for recognition of their land and social rights embedded in their daily lives for their popular cultural practices, hence, the focus not only on their movement around the Palmares Cultural Foundation and the Institute for Black Speech, but also the set of symbolic representations that protect their cultural identity through a social memory in continuous recreation / reinvention.

A new (dis) order in the cities: the movement of not welcomed subject occupation of urban spaces in the capital of the cerrado - Goiânia, Brasília and Palmas

Goiânia, Brasília and Palmas. The proposition is that the dialectical relationship between the norm and the life, through work and social-cultural practices, promotes landslidings of meaning both in form and content of the urban spaces, thus, provoking a new (Dis)order in these cities. The term “not welcomed subjects” was coined by the author of this paper on her master’s degree dis sertation as a way of referring to the capital Goiânia builders, once that, despite these workers represented a bigger contingent on the city building process, there wasn’t even a reserved space for them on the original planning. This fact allowed the relationship assessment of what was once imputed to the workers, the time elapsed on the city building wasn’t counted as well as the right to live over the edifications they crafted. This phenomenon, that has also happened in the city building of Brasília and Palmas, goes on until today, revealing that the not welcomed subjects on cities planned spaces are not only the builders. Another huge contingent of workers is added to the “not welcomed” group forced out of their homes for numerous reasons like, expelling from the countryside, lack of work, housing and better life perspective, etc., these individuals migrated to Goiânia, Palmas and Brasília hoping to find better living conditions. Another important assessment is that these cities were built and managed wit hin the bounds of capitalist development. They are cities initially planned, as claimed by some authors and researchers, by and for the capital. However, despite agreeing with the socio -spatial analysis that come from these precepts and also understanding the hegemonic financier and market driven logic through the capital-cities urban spaces configuration, we believe that they are insufficient to comprehend the development of these cities urban areas, once that, the final product of the capital-work relationship is privileged, while the not welcomed subjects’ struggles for surviving and fixing themselves in the new city is ignored. Therefore, we add to the relationships studied here the symbolic, political and social meanings. There is a spatial living that cannot be ignored; it’s within it that the not welcomed subjects’ movement against the logic of hegemonic capital is acknowledged. It’s over this space that the dialectical contradictions are revealed: the dialectic between the conceived and perceived spac e and the lived one; between the historical time and the social one; between alienation and creation; between frustration and possibility; between domination and insurgency; demonstrating that human beings cannot be totally alienated, through struggles, creations, changes, they resist and (re) exist. When doing it, they break the established order and portray a new ( Dis)order, which, in one way or another, will be materialized in the urban areas and alter its form and contend. And it’s exactly within this movement that a transforming praxis can be glimpsed.

GOIÂNIA: O MITO DA CIDADE PLANEJADA / GOIÂNIA: THE MYTH OF THE CITY PLANNING

PELÁ, Márcia Cristina Hizim 12 March 2009 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 pre textuais Marcia cristina.pdf: 522042 bytes, checksum: f3d9cc915201d40e917cc4f0609ba95e (MD5) Previous issue date: 2009-03-12 / Goiânia was the first planned city of Brazil in the twentieth century. Its building was a strategy of power that sought, in a regional context, to link the productive regions of the State of Goiás, mainly to the south and southwest regions, and to end the old family oligarchies and, in a national level, to bring the country to a new pattern of capitalist production; that means, it was the investment in the process of expansion of the capitalist system of production through the territory modernization. Thus, the city appears with well defined interests and political/economic functions. To make this project feasible, many resources were used, since political and economics agreements till marketing campaigns with the aim to promote the need for modernization. The new was the way. To reach this, nothing better than a new urban plan to retract, through the curves and lines, the progress, the growth and the integration of the hinterland in modern times. The Goiás of "Tropas and Boiadas" (Troop and Drove) by Hugo de Carvalho Ramos, should subjugate to the Treaty of Versailles of Atílio Correia de Lima. This attempt to overlay a culture on the other produced contradictions, considering that it wasn t take into account - or at least the importance was not understood - the fact that who composes a city are the social costumers. Even if a city plan is carefully prepared and agreed politically and economically, its deployment will carry the influence of several social groups that will compose it, fact that will cause the change of the meanings. Thus, it can be observed the creation of a myth and/or urban phenomenon on the modern and planned city in countries land which is based on an ideology of the subjetc city . To understand these assertions is necessary to break with the fragmented way of thinking the city, which conduces to the construction of a critical sight of the space that allows to come across the local and the global, the contradictions between rule and life, the interference of the cultural practices in an urban planning; anyway, that allows an integrated analysis in which theory and practice, perception and reason are complementary in order to understand through the landscape and through the social representation and daily life how the social and cultural practices, material and immaterial, incured directly on the appearance and on the content of Goiânia s territory in the period of 1930 to 1950, observing the changes or even the disfigurement of the original plan, which involves the conflict between rule and life / Goiânia foi a primeira cidade planejada do Brasil no século XX.

Reading books in several languages in a global context / Lectores plurilingües.

Rivière, Marie 15 November 2014 (has links)
Despite their key role in language acquisition and learning, little is known about plurilingual cultural practices outside the educational context. This PhD research in Applied Linguistics investigates the plurilingual book-reading practices of adults living in Western Europe. This work uses data, theoretical and methodological constructs from Language Education, Sociology, Literature, History and Anthropology. The study is based on in-depth interviews of readers and observers carried out in Catalonia, Ile-de-France, French Basque Country and Western Switzerland, and questionnaires collected from foreign university students in Paris. This exploration of reading habits in several languages reveals the continuity of pluriliteracy practices throughout History, but also the impacts of globalization –in its current form– on individuals’ linguistic and cultural repertoires. It shows the influence of power relations between cultures and between languages on the literacy uses. The analysis of the aims, circumstances and materials of reading practices, as well as of their emotional and identity issues, highlights the heterogeneity and variability of plurilingual cultural practices. The resulting pedagogical and theoretical recommendations support a greater adaptation of classroom reading activities to the realities of autonomous practices, and a better consideration of the complexity of individual plurilingualism and pluriculturalism in language learning studies.

La pratique des séries télévisées : une sociologie de l’activité spectatorielle / The practice of TV series : a sociology of the activity of spectating

Combes, Clément 12 September 2013 (has links)
What does it means to love a "TV series" nowadays? Or, to use a more pragmatic formulation, what do television series make their viewers do? To answer these questions, this thesis invites the reader to move beyond the paradigm of reception – on which the majority of studies in the field build upon - and explore the remits and contours of the practice of series. The aim is to study the practical activities undertaken by amateurs, how their attachments to the series are built, the ingredients of this attachment, and the material, technical and relational means of this attachment. This work shows that spectators' practices do not stop at the moment of viewing, when the individual is in front of his post, but extends to all activities, times and spaces through which an individual connects to a series. Drawing upon forty in-depth interviews and an examination of the ways in which series are socio-technically mediated, the thesis proposes to follow amateurs in their daily practices, from the viewing and storage of series, to their conversational exchanges, as well as through the procedures of information and discovery, procurement and sharing of content. All these activities are not only "receptive". As the thesis shows, they are at once reflexive, embodied, instrumented and collective, and they reveal the diversity of attachments of the "seriephiles" to these singular objects.

Etudes moléculaires de la diversité des communautés et populations de champignons mycorhiziens à arbuscules (Glomeromycota) / Molecular community and population studies of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (Glomeromycota)

Peyret -Guzzon, Marine 30 October 2014 (has links)
The arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis, which appeared at the same time as land plants, 460 million years ago, is a mutualistic beneficial association between most land plants, including those cultivated, and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). AMF, from the Glomeromycota phylum, are widespread soil microorganisms needing a photosynthetic host to complete their life cycle (obligate symbionts). The great potential of plant mineral nutrition improvement and crop production increased during this symbiosis, make AMF an asset in the context of an increase in the demand of world food crop production. The control of that symbiosis by ecology engineering in order to improve ecosystem services, especially in agroecosystems, needs to better understand the mechanisms regulating its dynamic. Therefore, we studied community and population diversity of AMF under influences of different agricultural practices at several spatial scales using genetic fingerprinting methods: high-throughput sequencing and restriction fragment length polymorphism. Results show that AMF diversity is structured by land use type (grassland vs. arable fields), cultural practices (soil disturbance, fertilizations, culturing systems) as well as environmental factors (e.g. soil pH). In conclusion, those different factors have to taken in account in AMF ecosystemic service managing.
